accustomed to seeing families that are different.
We need to move from tolerance to acceptance.
Tolerance is the reason why one can walk in the streets with people from all different races
without fear. Tolerance is the reason a church can exist next door to a temple.
Most societies are fine with stopping at tolerance. Tolerance is just the first step.
Tolerance is not enough. It is offensive to propose that any human is to be merely
tolerated. Tolerance has been a large part of our country’s history.
The second step towards acceptance is integration. Integration allows the races to not just
merely coexist but also to bond and make relationships. Multiracial individuals are a
outward, visible sign of integration. Integration leads to acceptance.
