Introduction
Why Tire Recycling??
In 2012, total reported scrap tires disposed in landfills were a roughly
around 60,000 tons in DC.
Pyrolysis Process
Pyrolysis is process of molecular breakdown where larger molecules are broken down into small
molecules. Pyrolysis plant is an industry designed to carry out pyrolysis of waste plastic &
tires. In case of plastic & tires pyrolysis, long chain polymer is broken down into smaller chains of
hydrocarbon gas and pyrolysis oil. Heat and catalyst are required for the following reaction.
Requirements
• Procurement of around 5 acres of land in Maryland Industrial
area.
• Project should satisfy all its Architectural & constructional
requirements.
• Project should be completed within a period of 18 months.
• Project should comply by its budget of $5 million.
• Finished plant should be able to recycle 10 tons of tires every
working day.
How the plant will look like.
Acquisition plan
• What will be the cost of acquisition of all man,
material & machine and identify the sources for
these acquisitions.
• What kind of tradeoff’s can be done In order to
get the project completed on time & within
budget.
• What are the risks associated with acquisition
process.
• How to select contractors & application
procedures.

Notes
• The project will take about 522 working days
to complete the project.
• The construction phase alone takes about 231
days.
• There will be a PROJECT MANAGER who will
lead the complete project and every
department will have a DEPARTMENTAL
MANAGER to co-ordinate between the team
and the project manager needs.
