This document summarizes the implementation of an eLearning system at Aer Lingus using Moodle. It discusses how Aer Lingus needed to transition pilot training online to reduce costs and demonstrate compliance to regulators. Aer Lingus worked with Enovation to set up Moodle, providing training and content development tools. The project was successful, delivering the first online training courses on schedule and within budget in January 2009. The eLearning system is now used for additional pilot and cabin crew training at Aer Lingus.

Aer Lingus Pilot Training
• Aer Lingus operates in a highly regulated environment
• Objective being to ensure Passenger and Crew Safety at all times
• Irish Aviation Authority (The IAA)
– Mandate a 3-year cycle of recurrent training for all Pilots
– Determine the content of this training, in conjunction with Aer Lingus
