The CBD, or central business district, is the commercial, cultural, and transportation center of a city. It has large department stores, offices, transportation hubs, and cultural venues. Land values are highest in the CBD due to its central location. Buildings are often taller to accommodate more space on expensive land. Traffic congestion is worst in the CBD due to the high concentration of commuters, businesses, and attractions. Common problems in CBDs include traffic, pollution, crime, and urban decay.

1. What is CBD? • The CBD or Central Business District is focal point of a city. It is the commercial, office, retail, and cultural center of the city and usually is the center point for transportation networks. • Example: Central of New York City ( USA)

2. Characteristic of CBD • The central business district (C.B.D.) has the following characteristics : • Has the departmental shops, large offices, main railway and bus stations, many churches, pubs, clubs and cinemas and the town hall . • The main roads head into the C.B.D. • The value of the land is greatest here . • Due to the high cost of the land buildings are built upwards . • C.B.D. suffer from the worst traffic congestion . • It is often the oldest part of the city . • It may have a grid-iron street pattern, that is parallel straight roads and other roads running at right angles .

3. Common Problem • There are lots of problems that people have to face most commonly: • The worst traffic congestion • Pollution • Crime • Urban decay

7. Vehicles cause air and noise pollution while run down houses and graffiti cause visual pollution.

10. About crime, I came up with the solution which is putting more polices and cameras in some places.( We cannot stop the crime, it is just part of the natural).

11. Finally, urban decay, I think the best solution will be rebuilding those house.
