population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and

- 2. Client Research The first thing i did starting this project was researching into the client which was BBC, researching into what kind of content they made, what they do, when they first evolved into the digital age. This is so i can have a good understanding of the client and how my documentary should be filmed as the BBC follows the Reithian principles, which are, educate, inform and entertain. BBC follows these principles to this day and shows must include at least one of these principles, but it can follow all three.

Audience Research • next i started gathering my audience research, so i know who i'm making my documentary for to make it almost more tailored towards them while still following the client's principles which again are educate inform entertain • With this research I can now define what my audience would want from a documentary as it certain audiences enjoy certain things as everyone’s likes and dislikes are different • The images provided are a couple of examples of the target audience research

Types of technology • Next I began researching types of technology that could be used to film my documentary, I decided on a standard DLSR media camera for my documentary but this research shows all the possibilities that I could have used to film the documentary • I researched into: Drones • High-quality mobile phone cameras • 360 cameras • Various DSLR cameras

Pre-Production paperwork • Paper work I had to fill out were things like contributor release forms, location release forms and risk assessments for areas we would be using for filming, this is because in the real world of media it would be required legally and its used in the project because it shows good professionalism and competency to the role of producer, director etc. as well as securing the safety of all those working on the project whether its contributors or crew
