Prepositions of time are used to indicate when an event occurs, such as "in" for months or years, "on" for days of the week or dates, and "at" for specific times of day. Prepositions of place indicate location, such as "in" for inside a space, "on" for above and touching a surface, "above" for higher than something, and "under" for lower than or covered by something. Examples are given for each preposition of time and place.
