Moringa oleifera (family Moringaceae) is the only genus which is cultivated most widely. Moringa is commonly known
as drumstick tree, horseradish tree, benzoil tree etc. Moringa oleifera is very resistant, fast growing and requires very less amount
of water to grow, i.e. it can grow also in drought conditions. Drumstick tree is a native of southern foothills of the Himalayas in
north-west India, and it is widely cultivated in India in tropical and subtropical regions were the seed pods are used as a part of
the diet.
Moringa is used since the ancient times in India and is also a native of India. Moringa is having very high nutritional
values with around 40 antioxidants and is rich in vitamins A, B, C, D, E and K. Not only vitamins but the plant is also very rich

6. Alfalfa Seeds
Alfalfa also called Lucerne, is a
perennial flowering plant in the
pea family Febaceae cultivated as
an important forage crop in many
countries around the world.
Alfalfa perennial forage legume
which normally lives four to eight
years, but can live more than 20
years, depending on variety and
climate.
7. Onion Seeds

8. Carrot Seeds
Carrot seeds are not true seeds in a

the carrot just at the surface of the soil.

Cumin seeds are the seeds of
Cuminum, which belongs to the
parsley family.
Native to the Mediterranean, cumin
is hotter to the taste, lighter in
color, and larger than caraway.
Cumin is a popular ingredient in
Middle Eastern, Asian,
Mediterranean and Mexican
cuisines, and is one of the main
ingredients in curry powder.
11. Coriander
Coriander seeds, are the
seed of coriandrum
sativum, which belongs to
the parsley family.
Coriander is a common in
gredient in Indian Spice
Blends and often used in
Middle Eastern lamb and
beef stews.
12. Fenugreek
Fenugreek is a native to India
and southern Europe. For
centuries it has grown wild in
India, the Mediterranean and
North Africa. where it is
mainly cultivated. In India it
is used medicinally, and as a
yellow dyestuff.
13. Ajwain
The small fruit pods are pale brown
and have an oval shape, resembling
caraway and cumin. It has a bitter and
pungent taste, with a flavor similar to
anise and oregano. They smell almost
exactly like thyme because it also
contains thymol, but is more aromatic
and less subtle in taste, as well as
slightly bitter and pungent. Even a
small amount of fruit pods tend to
dominate the flavor of a dish.
14. Mustard
Botanical name of mustard is Brassica
juncea (L.) Czern. & Coss.
Mustard seeds are the small round seeds
of various mustard plants. The seeds are
usually about 1 or 2 mm in diameter.
Mustard seeds may be colored from
yellowish white to black. They are
important herbs in many regional foods.
The seeds can come from three different
plants: black mustard, brown Indian
mustard and white mustard.
15. Fennel
Fennel is a species in the genus
Foeniculum. It is a member of the
family Apiaceae, formerly the
Umbelliferae.
Fennel is widely cultivated, both in
its native range and elsewhere, for
its edible, strongly flavoured leaves
and fruits. Its aniseed flavour
comes from anethole, an aromatic
compound also found in anise and
star anise, and its taste and aroma
are similar to theirs, though
usually not as strong.
17. Peanuts
The peanut or groundnut is a species
in the family Fabaceae ; commonly
known as the bean, pea or legume
family.
The peanut was probably first
domesticated and cultivated in the
valleys of Paraguay. It is an annual

Millets are a group of highly variable
small-seeded grasses, widely grown around
the world as cereal crops or grains for
fodder and human food. Millets are
important crops in the semi-arid tropics of
