This document discusses error concealment techniques for wireless video transmission using H.264/AVC encoding. It describes the goals of H.264/AVC including higher coding efficiency and error robustness. It then discusses error control methods, specifically error concealment, where the decoder estimates lost information to conceal transmission errors. Common error concealment techniques are described like spatial, temporal, and motion-compensated temporal concealment. The author implemented these techniques in the JM 13.2 decoder and evaluated recovered video quality using metrics like MSE and PSNR. Future work is to further test error concealment algorithms and quality of reconstructed video.
