To achieve this, I would have my students first explore some Royalty-free stock photo sites such as ImageBase to find and compile the “art” they want to use in their gallery. Students would use PowerPoint to put together the images and their commentary for their online art gallery. Finally, I would have them create gmail accounts and use Google Sites to publish their galleries on the internet.
Students will be asked to research a provided set of internet resources and check those sources for accuracy/reliability. After deciphering which sources are reliable and which are inaccurate, I will have my students create a Google Doc explaining the importance of checking for accuracy with internet sources. After collaborating with two other students on the Google Doc and completing final editing on their papers, each student will be asked to use Scribd to upload their papers to their student blogs.
To meet this requirement, I would have my students begin by using the internet to research accessibility requirements so they can have an understanding of how to make their website accessible. I would then have my students create a web site using Google Sites on a topic of their choice that meets the requirements of web site accessibility.
For this standard, I would have my students work in groups using digital camcorders, cameras, and voice recorders to create a film in iMovie that will show other students what the appropriate and ethical use of digital tools and resources are. After completing the filming and video editing processes, each group of students will present their video to the class. Students will comment on and critique each other’s videos based on content and creativity.
