ACRL Framing the Framework Webcast Series, January 5, 2016
Abstract:
In 2000, the Council of Writing Program Administrators (CWPA) created the WPA Outcomes Statement for First-Year Composition (WPA OS), which was amended in 2008 and updated into its current form in 2014. In 2011, the CWPA teamed up with the National Council of Teachers of English and the National Writing Project to develop the Framework for Success in Postsecondary Writing. These two documents together articulate the behaviors, understandings, and habits of mind that college students should develop in order to thrive in both their college education and beyond. These documents also share considerable overlap with the Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education (Framework for IL).
This webcast will introduce the professional academic library community to the WPA OS and the Framework for Success with the goal of outlining how they align with the Framework for IL. Participants will learn the ways that information literacy is already embedded in the writing instruction context, making campus writing programs and instructors promising collaborators in using the Framework for IL to transform classroom praxis. The presenters will share ways the connections between these disciplinary learning frameworks can be leveraged as tools for meaning-making and shared pedagogy in order to build strong collaborations around information literacy with faculty across disciplines.
The Christopher Stevens Youth Network/CE2.0 –iEARN Jordan Workshop
February 23rd, 2013
iEARN-Jordan conducted a training workshop on February 23rd, 2013 as part of the Christopher Stevens Youth Network: Global Connections 2.0. Fifteen educators from Jordan, Kuwait and the USA participated in the workshop. Ms. Khitam Al-Utaibi, iEARN-Jordan Representative delivered the training on two parts. The first part of the workshop was about learning what is iEARN and take a tour in some of the 300 online projects. After teachers were introduced to iEARN, they had hands on training on some of the essential aspects in Project-Based Learning as well as engaging teachers in some activities related to building skills in grouping strategies, debate strategies and tuning protocols in projects. iEARN International celebrates this year its 25th Anniversary and iEARN-Jordan celebrated this occasion with all participants in the presence of all attendees with a cake that has the logos of the US Department of State, iEARN-Jordan, GCE and the iEARN International logo for the 25th Anniversary.
A PowerPoint Presentation filled with electronic resources for a thematic unit on detectives and making predictions. The purpose of this presentation is to emphasize how technology can be effectively implemented into elementary education.

• MAT Electronic Portfolio (Completed in 2006)
This website gives a basic idea of where I was when I first completed the MAT
Program at TCNJ in Ewing, NJ. I apologize for the 2-3 unavailable links in the Frog
WebQuest, the program I used to create the website is no longer available. I just
wanted to give you an idea of the skills that I learned in the program and how far I
have come since then.
• Website that I Created Last Summer for a Class in Information Technology
In the Spring of 2014, I started the Master of Library and Information Online
Program at Rutgers University. This past summer I took a class called, Information
Technology, where I learned how to create webpages using NotePad++, FileZilla,
and MySQL Workbench. The website listed above was my final project.
• How to Search Using Searchasaurus
Another class, Principles of Searching, enabled us to learn how to create a
screencast to teach a lesson on how to use a database to complete searches. This
screencast was made by a classmate who made the video primarily to help
elementary school aged children perform searches.
17. Important Sites (Continued)
• Prezi Presentation on Mitchel Resnick (Creater of Scratch Program)
I also had some professional development in the area of using the program Prezi
to create visual presentations. The above presentation is one that I created for
Mitchel Resnick, the creator of a coding program for children called Scratch.
• My Current Teaching Webpage for Manchester Township
In our district, it is highly recommended that you have a webpage for students
and parents/guardians to refer to. This allows parents/guardians to be aware of
classroom activities and assignments. Students can use the resources, website
links, and homework assignments pages as needed.
