Carbon dot nanoparticles were prepared via thermal processing and used to fabricate a transparent and flexible polymer memory device. The carbon dot polyimide film exhibited 75% UV-visible light transmittance and switching behavior in electrical studies due to a transition in surface resistivity. Thermal studies showed the composite remained thermally stable up to high temperatures. The memory device demonstrated potential for applications in flexible displays and integrated circuits.
