2. You might already know that thinking positive and being
optimistic is important for being happy and bringing
good things into your life. For many of us, it's a daily
struggle to be optimistic and believe that our dreams
can come true. Feeling trapped or depressed about our
life and circumstances can lead to depression, sadness
and the thought that things will never change.
Eliminating these negative thought patterns and trying
to be optimistic is often very difficult but there are a few
things that you can do to get moving in the right
direction and become happier in the process.
3. When our life is in turmoil, often mornings are the most
difficult time. You're confronted with worry and fear
before you even get out of bed. It's another day filled
with the same problem that you had when you went to
sleep and chances are you didn't sleep very well, to
begin with. You dread the day with the job that you
despise or the relationship that you wish would change
or the impending phone calls from bill collectors. No
matter what the situation might be, it greets you as your
reality seeps in and you're defeated before the day even
begins.
4. While you might be tempted to just want to call it a day
before it even begins, make your first thought one of
kindness to yourself. Understand that this is a pattern
and a habit. You wake up and you start to worry.
Instead, make a conscious decision to not think about
the problem or even try to come up with a solution first
thing in the morning. Pretend that you're a little child
with sleep still in your eyes. You're innocent and
vulnerable. Don't insist that you come face to face with
this so called reality and instead tell yourself that you
love yourself and that you're not going to think about
the problem until you're fully awake. This might not be
until you've had a cup of coffee or a
5. shower or you could even set a time limit on this. Tell
yourself that you're not going to be ready to deal with
all of this until 11:00 or until after lunch, if necessary.
6. Understanding that you're thoughts aren't very positive
is also a trick that you can try with yourself. Recognizing
this thought pattern can take some of the power out of
it and defuse the damage that it can do. Allowing worry
and negative thoughts to run rampant is a waste of time
and it's rare that a solution is found when your mind is
focused on the problem instead of a solution. After all,
it's often someone emotionally removed from the
situation that can see the solution so remove yourself
emotionally from the burden of worry. Clear your mind
and prepare yourself for finding this solution.
7. When you feel that you are filled with fear or loathing
about your life or your situation, tell that fear that it's
not welcome at the moment. You understand that this is
your instincts telling you to either fight or flee from a
dangerous situation but you have the matter in hand.
Worrying and being fearful can make you freeze like a
wild animal caught in the middle of the road not
knowing which direction to go to escape that danger.
Channel that instinct and allow it to motivate you to do
great things. Harness the power of your mind to find
that solution as you visualize about your destination,
that is, your life once you solve the problem that has you
so upset. Dream about what you really
8. want your life to be like and feel all the emotions that go
along with being in that place in your life.
9. Being a little stubborn with yourself and with these
negative emotions is very important. While you might
wish that it was as simple as flipping a switch or turning
a key, these negative thoughts will probably try to return
rather quickly. This has been your habit for a while and
how you have been living. Being persistent and believing
in yourself and your ability to change your thoughts and
change your life is key. Remember that these negative
thoughts are not helping you and they're preventing you
from making the changes necessary for your own
happiness can help. Try not to become angry with
yourself but be gentle with yourself and love yourself.
Respect these thoughts but understand
10. their use and master your emotions for your overall
well-being.
11. Allowing yourself to dream and finding a little quite time
alone in each and every day is also helpful. No matter
what the situation might be, push aside the trouble and
fill this time with nothing but dreams of happiness,
success and love. Gather photos that bring you joy, listen
to some peaceful music playing softly in the background
and let yourself live in that time when everything is
exactly the way that you want it to be. You deserve to be
happy and you have the ability to solve any problem in
your life. Your thoughts are the plans for your future and
without these thoughts you will remain stuck in your
present reality. Allow these methods to become a part
of your daily routine. Soon
12. you'll find that you're happier, your problems become
smaller and solutions to what formerly seemed
overwhelming come to you easily.
