Mozart And Beethoven s Musical Origins
Haydn began his musical career as a choirboy in Vienna up until the age of 17. Mozart and
Beethoven s musical origins are similar, both coming from families with musical backgrounds.
Mozart s father taught him and his sister before taking them to tour throughout Europe.
Beethoven also studied with his father before receiving his study abroad opportunity in Vienna
in 1792. After serving as a choirboy, Haydn found himself in need of a means to make a living.
He was barely able to support himself as a freelance musician. Haydn s first serious position
occurred around 1757 when he became music director for Count Morzin. It was also around this
time that Haydn began to write some of his first symphonies. Most of Haydn s earlier symphonies
were three movement works (fast slow fast), somewhat like the Italian opera overture. Other
symphonies were four movement works arranged much like a sonata de chiesa. In 1761, Haydn
began working for the EsterhГЎzy princes, spending nearly 30 years at the EsterhГЎzy court. He
composed at every wish of the EsterhГЎzy princes; any work they demanded. Haydn s duties
included conducting, training, and supervising all musicians, and maintaining instruments. He built
an orchestra of 25 players His time at Eszterhaza really influenced the success of his career; Haydn
got to hear his work in excellent performances. Because Esterhaza was so isolated, vsitors would
often keep him in the loop about music events in other locations. Haydn s compositions

The Relationship Between The English And French Canadians
ENGLISH FRENCH RELATIONS
By: Kimia Pourheidary
As a great man once said Love thy neighbor as thyself , as easy as that may sound, it was very
difficult for the French English Canadian to get along and love each other instead of hate. The
relationship between the English and French Canadians was very tense in the 20th century. This
power struggle led to the separation of two large populations In Canada and created conflicts within
the country. The many debates which were not solved between the two sides had a great impact on
French English relations. Throughout the years, their relationship was and still is very rocky. There
are many reasons which explain why they have such strong hatred towards each other, but the most
common ones were; biculturalism, belief/politics, and most importantly bilingualism.
The first example which thoroughly explains the struggles between the Quebecers and Canadians is
biculturalism. The relationship between the English and French Canadians first became rocky
when the Quebecers felts that their majority position was threatened by an English speaking
minority that constitutes thirty four percent of the population of Montreal (Francophone
Anglophone relations). Two nations warring in the bosom of a single state was said by Lord
Durham which describes the French and English Canadian relationship. It was very hard for the
French Canadian to get used to the fact that now they were combined with the Anglophones. The

Discuss the view that class is still the most important...
Discuss the view that class is still the most important factor influencing the way people vote
Voting behaviour is the way in which the individuals of the electorate vote. Typically this can be
divided into a sociological approach based on entrenched characteristics such as class, age and
region and rational choice approach based on individual decisions based on political issues,
governance and party leaders or image.
Between the years of 1945 1970 social class dominantly shaped the voting behaviour of
individuals. Whilst there has been a decline in prominence of class voting: Labour remains the
most popular working class party and Conservatives perform best among middle class voters.
Social classes are defined by economic and social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Conservatives receive an increasing percentage of votes in correlation with age and Lib Dem
and Labour have high performance among the younger groups. The writer G.B. Shaw once
wrote that, If you are not a socialist by the time you are 25, you have no heart. If you are not a
Conservative by the time you are 35, you have no head . There is the entrenched view that
young people are more liberal whilst as individuals grow older they become more set in their
ways, more wedded to traditional values and attitudes and more likely to believe that
Conservative governments are more likely to safeguard their financial and personal security
which appear increasingly important in later life. Considering this, surprisingly in the 2010
general election, the ages of 18 24 voted fairly equally between the three main parties with the
age bias gap only really becoming apparent from the age 55 onwards. This shows that younger
prejudices and party alignment are not as ingrained as that of the elderly meaning that old people
may be influenced in their voting behaviour by their age but the same is not as apparent for young
people, despite the surface recognition that it is. Yet the implication of young people sharing their
votes between parties could be due to other factors, when

The Causes Of World Hunger In The World
Tommy Luong Dave King English 150 20 September 2017Without Food Death Is All I Have
Left To Eat The day usually starts with breakfast but there is no food to be seen or be eaten, so
all that is left to do is starve and wait until your next opportunity to eat happens. This is a reality
for those around the world as some people are unable to get food for themselves or for their
families. This is contributed by the world s population being around 7 billion people and still
growing to a higher population. This high population and its rapid growth rate of about 80
million births per year can lead to potential food shortages in different places in the world that
makes world hunger becoming a major social problem that can lead to disease and countries
dying because of starvation. Some would say that helping world hunger is a waste of developed
nations resources. However that is something I disagree with because a lot of the world
production of goods come from undeveloped countries. In order to reduce the problem they re
should be a way to limit the population growth in countries in the world that are highly
populated besides China s one child law already in place or have a way to better sustain the
world s growing population. The causes of world hunger in the world is due to the increase in
population in very developed countries allowing a longer life span causing the world population to
increase more quickly because there would be a higher consumption of food and it would

Essay on Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA)
What is the FTAA
In 1994, the leaders of the thirty four democratic countries of the Western Hemisphere launched
the process of creating a Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA). The FTAA will be established
by 2010 with the aim of gradually eradicating barriers to trade and investment in the region. The
final characteristics of the FTAA will be determined through negotiationsby government officials
from the thirty four participating countries. The trade issues that are presently under discussion are:
market access; investment; services; government procurement; dispute settlement; agriculture;
intellectual property; antidumping, subsidies and countervailing duties; and competition policy.
Guiding principles for these negotiations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The objectives and principles also mandate special consideration be given to the smaller, less
developed countries of the hemisphere. These provisions reflect both the unique challenges facing
the smaller, poorer countries and their influence in a process in which each country, regardless of
size, in effect has veto power.
With the FTAA negotiations still at an early stage, it would be useful to remember that the
important decisions in multilateral trade talks usually do not get made until the very end,
frequently when it appears as though the talks will fail to produce a significant agreement. This
pattern is built into the FTAA process as the negotiations are conducted as a single undertaking, and
there is no agreement until everything is decided.
The biggest slow down of the negotiations was the continued failure of the U.S. Congress to renew
the President Clinton s fast track authority, his ability to negotiate trade agreements and submit them
to up or down votes. The 1994 Miami Summit ended with assurances from President Clinton that he
would secure fast track authority and use it to gain Chile s admission to NAFTA. Without it, not
only has Chile s admission to NAFTA fallen by the wayside, but there are growing questions about
U.S. approval of the final FTAA agreement. Doubts concerning Washington s resolve and leadership
have clouded the negotiations and provided an opening for countries not enthusiastic

Bacon s Rebellion
There are many things that shaped the experience of enslaved people. One of the main forces
that caused slavery to be so common was the simple fact that there were no laws to control or
prohibit slavery. For many farms and industries, having slaves was very profitable because once
the farm or company was done with the slave, they could resell them. It is also the simple fact
that slaves were free labor. Bacon s Rebellion in 1676 also changed the lives of many enslaved
people. Bacon had promised freedom to anyone who joined his army. However, this promise was
short lived. In ore to avoid anymore outbursts or rebellions of the former slaves, the Virginia
authorities pushed the slaves whom would never again be free to the tobacco fields and

FDR The First Hundred Days Essay
FDR The First Hundred Days One of the most traumatic situations this country has ever
experienced was the Great Depression. It was an extraordinary event for the people of this country
because , unlike the previous events such as wars this country has experienced, it directly affected
whole families, including women and children. Many families were living in conditions similar to
what we see in third world countriestoday. These extraordinary times required an extraordinary

During his campaign, however, it was hard to tell exactly what Roosevelt s New Deal policy
was. He lashed out against the Hoover administration for high tariff policies, but by the end of the
campaign, no real difference separated the candidates on the tariff issue. In his speeches he said he
would increase aid to the unemployed, but he would slash federal spending (Leuchtenburg 10).
One of the New Deal administrators reflected subsequently: Given later developments, the
campaign speeches often read like a giant misprint, in which Roosevelt and Hoover speak each
other s lines (qtd. in Leuchtenburg 11). However, Hoover s handling of the economic crisis and
many other issues virtually assured Roosevelt of the Presidency.
In his inaugural speech, Roosevelt said This nation asks for action, and action now.... We must
act and act quickly (qtd. in Schlesinger 1). This address was also where his famous quote The
only thing we have to fear is fear itself was uttered (qtd. in Freidel 93) The first part of the New
Deal happened in the first three months of his presidency, which became know as the hundred days.
The first objective of the new administration was to get the banks on a more firm footing. On his
very first night in office, Roosevelt directed his Secretary of the Treasury to draft an emergency
banking bill, and gave him only five days to get it ready. On March fifth he proclaimed a national

Circumstantial Evidence
Physical Evidence is evidence that is seen at the crime scene. They are objects that may contain
vital information that are laying around the area of where the crime is committed. These objects are
sent to research facilities to see if the objects are useful in finding out what really happened during
the crime. If they are useless, then they will not change the thought of those who wish to know the
truth. But if they hold information that will turn the tide of a court case, then they will be used.
Circumstantial evidenceis what most prosecutors use in the court of law. This evidencecomes from
clues found at the scene that have something very defining about them. For example, no two
people have the same fingerprint. So if one is found at the crime scene, then it may lead to
something important. Or maybe not, since it may have been accidental, but you never know.

US Bombing In Syria
US airstrikes on a village north of the Syrian city of Raqqa killed at least 11 civilians, including
four children and six women, a UK based monitoring group reported Wednesday.
The bombing raid, which was launched just before midnight, is part of a protracted air war being

neighboring Iraq over the past three years.
In Syria, the airstrikes, ostensibly aimed against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), are being

Principles . Principles In Community Development Are Used
Principles
Principles in community development are used to achieve overall goals and achieve results
(Checkoway 1995). Jim Ife has identified 32 principles of community development that are seen
as critical components and can be useful to develop a framework for evaluating community
development (Ife 2016). Many of Jim Ife s principles are being acted upon in this case study such
as Addressing disadvantage and inequality, linking the global and the local, valuing local processes,
valuing local skills and relationship and dialogue.
Relationship and Dialogue is one of Jim Ife s process principles. Community development

Effective control requires ongoing structures and processes. Effectively community control requires
adequate resources, including income, material resources and knowledge and strong skills base
(Kenny and Connors 2017). This definition is reflected on in the case study as the residents are
teaching and learning from each other. This enables them to use their own resources to develop a
small business that operates from an office in the estate. By developing a business and strategy
plan, the residences are taking control of their own development. The members of the estate have
set up these structures and plans, which enables them to have ongoing progress for the future.
Healy refers to community development as a set of approaches focused on understanding
individuals as part of a community and on building the capacity of that community to address the
social, economic or political challenges facing its members (Healy 2012). One of the adults was a
graphic designer in his country of origin. Through the access of computers he was able to expand
on his knowledge and learn how to create web designs. He then was able to share his knowledge
with others in the community to start up the business. Healys definition has been applied to the
case study as he community came together to build a economic future for their estate.

Essay on Kabuki and Bunraku Art

Similarities And Differences Of Pericles And Xerxes
Identification and Evaluation of Sources This investigation attempts to answer the question,
what are the similarities and differences of Pericles and Xerxes leadership traits? This question is
relevant and important because Pericles and Xerxes were influential leaders of their time and
continue to learn from them even today. Pericles was a general during the golden age of Athens
(480 404 BCE) and he led Athens during the early Peloponnesian war and Persian wars. Xerxes
was a king of Persia and is known for conquering much of Greece during his reign (486 465
BCE). This investigation will address the following: the achievements of the leaders, how they
affected the future and their means of doing what they did. This investigation will focus on the
time period from 518 BCE to 429 BCE and the places investigated will include Persia and the
reaches of the Greek empire. This will be completed through a thorough examination of several
books and information on the internet. The origin of the book Pericles of Athens and the Birth
of Democracy is from Donald Kagan and it was written in 1991 by an American historian and it
is a secondary source. The purpose of the book is to paint a clearer picture of Pericles by using

A ROWE type program would both work and not work at my current company of Cooper Tire and

My current role is a customer facing position requiring me to physically be at work and available

China created an empire extremely similar to the Roman empire discussed in Chapter 5. The only
difference being, the Chinese empire was put together using several large armies, which forced
their way into new territories. The Qin and Han rulers in China founded this empire. During 221
BCE the state of Qin helped unify Chinaby defeating a main rival of the empire. After this, the
king of Qin eventually began to rule all of China, being know as the first emperor. To help all the
states to become more unified he asked for all of the citizens to move into the capital, which
created a bigger empire for him to rule. To make sure there wasn t any resistance from the citizens,

The principle problem of the war of 1812 was over maritime issues between British and
Americans. In Europe, because the Napoleon war was a big problem to the British, they create the
Orders in Council . Orders in Council consisted that British instructed the Royal Navy to blockade
French ports. This action was supposed to just affect the French; however, United Stateswas injured
by this act. American trade with Europe was restricted, and the Royals Navy removed the
American merchant vessels. In one hand, some people from Britain thought the Orders in Council
could bring calm, and this was cancel in June of 1812. On the other hand, American complaints
and economic restrictions helped to persuade the British that American were pro French and anti
Britain. American declare the war to the British in June 1, 1812, and his reasons was the fight for

Edward Taylor Prologue Poem Analysis
In Edward Taylor s Prologue he seeks to demonstrate the inferiority of man in respect to God s
glory. Taylor begins his piece by creating a metaphor in which his own subsidiarity to God is
described in terms of physical stature and uniqueness. He then purposefully includes phrases
with erroneous meter and imperfect rhymes to demonstrate that his inferiority extends to his
abilities as a writer. Taylor further attempts to establish his lack of authorial skills by including
repetitious words, implying that he lacks an extensive vocabulary. When combined these tactics
serve to support the idea that Edward Taylor has many shortcomings, both as a human and a
poet, especially in comparison to the greatness of God. Taylor begins demonstrating his
meagerness by describing the vast inequity between physical standing of God and man by
employing a metaphor. In this metaphor, Taylor is but a mere Crumb of Dust in comparison to
the glory of God s creation (line 1). This contrast firstly demonstrates Taylor s inadequacy when
examined from a physical perspective; Taylor is but the smallest piece of dust, while God s
glory is, comparatively, almost endless in size and scope. God being larger than Edward Taylor
serves to suggest that God is thus innately superior to Taylor, as greater size implies superiority
over those with smaller builds. Therefore, Taylor is not simply seeking to suggest that God is
physically larger than himself, but instead aiming to use their difference in bodily

Property Dualism
Dualism is generally defined as the division of a concept into two contrasting aspects. Dualism
addresses the mind body problem by claiming that the body and mind are separate. Various
alternatives to the dualist theory propose the mind and body is connected, materialism everything
is physical. Nevertheless, dualists agree, that the essential essence nature of conscious intelligence
resides in something nonphysical, in something forever beyond the scope of science (7,
Churchland). This nonphysical realm of the mindis considered to have a causal systematic
connection with the body, driving a person to act with purpose. This connection, between the
physical and nonphysical, is supposed to be what makes your body you and not someone else.
Dualists try to offer an explanation behind the connection and separation of the mind and body by
using senses and experiences to characterize conscious intelligence.... Show more content on

Substance dualism theorizes that the mind is divided into two substances, one that is a physical
substance(body) and one that is a nonphysical substance(mind). This nonphysical substance, the
immortal soul, is seen as a part of you separate from your body, a part that could possibly live on
past your body s physical degradation. Property dualism is slightly different in the sense that it
attributes the physical brain as having a set of non physical properties, rather than a substance.
This theory works to narrow the gap in empirical evidence by no longer claiming some mystical
substance that lives on forever, but still attempts to account for the part of our minds we have yet
to understand. As a property, this theory can then be regarded as a concept that cannot be reduced
to the physical or explained by science, a science of mental

Persuasive Essay About Public Shame
Shame corrodes the very part of us that believes we are capable of change (BrenГ© Brown). In
The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne, a woman is publicly shamed for having a child with
a man who is not her husband. Another example of public shame can be seen in modern day
articles Florida Scarlet Letter Law is Repealed by Gov. Bush, by Dana Canedy, and Houston
Couple Gets The Scarlet LetterTreatment. Both talk of public shamethat people have had to endure
in the present day. Public shaming is not an effective punishment because it is a cruel and unusual
punishment, it does not deter crime, and it can emotionally traumatize the one being shamed.
One of the main reasons why public shame is not an effective punishment is because it is a cruel
and unusual punishment. The Eighth Amendment to the United States Constitution states that
cruel and unusual punishments [shall not be] inflicted. The verdict of public shame is not morally
just and should not be accepted in society. In The Scarlet Letter, Hester Prynneundergoes public
torment for having a baby with a man other than her husband. She feels the shame of the
punishment most when forced to walk through the square, under the scrutiny and torment of the
town: In a moment, however, wisely judging that one token of her shame would but poorly serve
to hide another, she took the baby on her arm, and, with a burning blush, and yet a haughty smile,
and a glance that would not be abashed, looked around at her

Nazi Nationalism In Adolf Hitler And The Nazi Foreign Policy
Nazism was an ideology that became Germany s nationalism. This ideology and nationalism was
focused on making Germany a great nation once again. The main focus of this ideology was
based in the cleansing of the Aryan race. When Adolf Hitler became chancellor of Germany in
1933 laws were put into place that set up the process of eliminating those who did not belong. This
was known as the Nazi Foreign Policy. That same year Hitler took Germanyout of the Treaty of
Versailles. The main people group targeted because of the Nazi Foreign Policy was Jews along
with anyone who disagreed with the Nazi way. Despite these laws not being put into place until
the mid 1930s Jews were still harassed in the 1920s but now the mistreatment was legal. It was
not just legal but in fact encourage to report a suspect Jew or rebel to the SS. The Nazi Foreign
Policy became more about race then the rebuilding of Germany because it was thought that
Germany could only thrive with pure Aryan inhabitants. No one questioned the outlandish plans
and laws that came from Hitler s rule. He had done nothing but good things for Germany and was
a skilled spokesperson. Hitler became a dictator because a democracy was considered weak and the
things that happened would not have been able to take place within a government system of that
nature. German people were convinced that following these laws and adopting Nazismwas about
accepting and expressing their nationalism. They held parades and ceremonies and

According to the Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad and the capitalism and slavery by Eric
William, both of the book told people about the slavery labour in the past was darkness. William
shows that the origin of Negro slavery was economic not racial; he believe that white people
could not perform adequate labor in the tropics; and he also told that white servitude was the
historic base upon which Negro slavery was constructed. Conrad s story is a complex exploration
of the beliefs people hold on what constitutes a barbarian versus a civilized society and the stance
on colonialism and racism that was part and parcel of European imperialism. After comparing this

Africans made ideal slaves for the whites because they were ignorant of European languages,

By the Williams s opinion, he asserts that the primary propose of slavery were gaining the capital;
and also producing the social concept of race. At first, the natives slaves knew too much about the

the employer would worried about, because those convicts were getting transported to the New
World with the intentions on becoming planters themselves. Once their sentence was complete,
they maintained personal aspirations towards ownership. Thus, these convicts saw the opportunity
of freedom in the transportation to the New World from the mother country. The transportation of
these convicts greatly increased the population in British colonies. Nevertheless, the use of this
form of labor was not producing maximum capital gain for the colonies (Eric William, 1994).

The Quiet American Essay
The Quiet American
The film The Quiet American takes place during the 1950 s in Vietnam. The movie illustrates the
atmosphere of Vietnam previous to the Vietnam War and during the French occupation of the
country. The main plot of the movie revolves around three characters: Fowler played by Michael
Caine, Pyle played by Brendan Fraiser, and Phoung played by Do Thi Hai Yen. For the duration of
the movie the three main characters are involved in a semi love triangle. This triangle and the
emotions that the male characters feel towards Phoung begin to characterize the way they feel
about the country of Vietnam itself. Vietnam becomes feminized, taboo, and sexualized just as
Phoung does in Pyle and Fowler s eyes. The manner in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pyle doesn t love Vietnam so much as he hates communism, in the same way he doesn t love
Phoung so much as he does not want Fowler to have her. Fowler on the other hand walks a thin
line between noninvolvement and participation within the situations at hand. Fowler believes that
Vietnam should be left to make its own decisions, but at the same time he is afraid of the
consequences of such choices. This policy of noninvolvement and noncommittal is the same way
that he approaches all the situations within his life. Fowler does not want to become concerned
with the circumstances occurring in Vietnam and he also does not wholeheartedly become
involved in the situation between Pyle and Phoung until he is forced to do so. He essentially
permits Phoung to decide whom she wants to be with until he is compelled to leave his state of
neutrality when it does not seem as if he will become the winner of her heart. Yet again Fowler s
feelings towards Phoung embody his feelings towards Vietnam. Fowler wanted to give Phoung a
chance to make her own decisions until he becomes petrified that she will choose the stability of
Pyle rather than himself. In a similar way, Fowler believed that Vietnam should be able to choose
what would occur in its own future but he was afraid at the same time that they would make the
wrong decision and elect a communist leader. Although Phoung s embodiment of Vietnam is the

Psychological And Psychological Treatment Of Psychological...
How can we establish the efficacy of psychological (non pharmacological) interventions for
psychological disorder? Discuss with reference to difficulties in measuring the effects of
psychological treatment.
The purpose of this essay is to discuss the different theoretical approaches in the treatment of
psychological disorder with the help of psychological treatments. Furthermore I will be discussing
the difficulties faced in measuring the effects of psychological treatment. Psychotherapy is the term
used for psychological treatments involving social interactions between a trained professional and
client with the goal of behavioural and/or emotional change. The common feature of psychotherapy
are; relationship between client and therapist, explanation / interpretation of problem. The aim of
psychology is to find long term solutions to ease symptoms of psychopathy and also try to ways to
ease the stress caused by these disorders (Davey, 2008)
There are a number of theoretical approaches used to treat psychological disorders such as,
psychodynamic approaches, behavioural therapy, cognitive therapies and many more. Using
psychotherapy, one must first understand the nature and functions of these therapies. Therapist s
help their clients explore aspects of themselves that the clients are unware of (Whitebourne Halgin,
2014). In psychotherapy the tries to explore the clients emotional attachments, their defence
mechanisms, relationships with others, understanding their past

Disadvantages Of Driving
My journey began on a spring day, when my boyfriend at that time now my husband said that is
the right time to buy a car. Even though I was 23 at that moment, I had a feeling like I will be so
independent despite the fact that from the age of 18 years old I didn t live with my parents ,I
traveled in Europe by myself and I was already an independent person. In contrast with the US,
in Russia,my homeland country, the minimum age to drive a car is 18 years old, but there is no
much need in a car because the public transportation is cheaper and more convenient, the bus
stations are close to every location that you may need as well as if you drive a personal vehicle
there is always an issue with the lack of parking spots that make parking seem endless. On the
top of disadvantages, is the stereotype that the worst drivers in Russia are females. These were
my reasons why I started to drive only at 23, a perfect age, when I just moved to US. The
thought that I will have a car, my own car, made me feel very confident in myself. Thinking
about my future first car made me so happy like I was a child expecting for Christmas gifts,

what is going to be inside of the box, something that suits my budget, around 2 or 3 thousand. I

The Field Of Sport Management
Comparatively, the field of sport management is a rather new academic discipline (Chalip, 2006),
which has faced some challenges in terms of justifying its prominence in the academic world.
Nonetheless, Chalip (2006) believes it was an unavoidable course for the evolution of sport
management. Mullin (1980) defined the sportmanager as follows:
A person whose job entails planning, organising, staffing, directing and controlling to be performed
within the context of an organisation whose primary product or service is sport, or sport related (p3).
The term management has been defined in many different ways through research as it continues to

As a result, the professional and elite levels have also grown substantially these last three or four
decades (Vanderzwaag, 1998). Areas such as recreational sporting programs, corporate sponsored
events, sporting news media and sporting goods have been established within the professional
realm of sport as well. It is evident that as the sport industry grew and evolved, it progressively took
on the business attributes of other industries (Masteralexis, Barr Hums, 2014).
Despite similar business industry characteristics, the sport industry has a unique management,
business and legal practice, unique to all other industries. Furthermore, what makes this industry so
unique is the organisational structures that are in place in order to manage, govern and organise
sport. Masteralexis et. al (2014) identified three main management structures of sport; clubs, leagues
and tournaments which are used to manage and organise sport. These management systems
encompass a range of amateur and professional organisations that may apply variations to these
structures for the purpose of producing a sporting event.
For instance, American college sports such as basketball, baseball, track and field, are structured
under the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as an amateur governing body, but are

Stop The Violence Steps Must Be Taken
5A)To stop the violence steps must be taken. Some of these steps have already been implemented
with success at American universities and grade schools through America. The schools that have
already implemented some (but not all) of these procedures have been void of a school shooter

Write An Essay On The Effects Of Shooting A Basketball
Basketball is a widely known game around the world. Played by both men and women it is one
of the more popular sports around. Made in December of 1891 by Dr. James Naismith it is still
being played today. Although basketball looks like a lot of running, dribbling, and shooting you ll
learn that there is a lot more things that go into it. The art of shooting a basketballis a whole lot more
than just aiming at the goal and flicking your wrist. You have to be able to have the right arc and
trajectory to be able to get the ball through the hoop. Not only do those things go into a jump
shot, but also spin is very important in shooting a shot. For instance, if you have the right speed
and direction of spin on the ball than if you miss your shot, the way the ball spins off the rim or
backboard may result in you hitting a lucky shot. The effects of air resistance of the ball are so
small because of small velocities, so spin of a shot in air is not useful. What spin is useful for is
for a better chance of the ball going in if the ball hits the rim (Kentridge). If you have the right
amount of spin, trajectory, and arc on the ball than the better chance you have of getting the
perfect swish. The backspin, after contact with the back rim or board, will result in a change in
velocity opposite to the spin direction, changing an equal angle rebound into a velocity more
toward the net (Willis). Backspin is very crucial in shooting a ball. If you do not have rotation on
your ball then more than likely you will miss most of the shots you take. They will just bounce off
of the rim or backboard without having a chance of bouncing in. With the spin on a shot, some of...

backgrounds found within the countries of Sierra Leone and Ghana have shaped each of their
national identities. Exploring how Sierra Leone and Ghana emerged as individual nations is crucial

A year after the English outlawed slavery, Sierra Leone became a British crown colony.
New courts were established, new codes and new laws were introduced, chiefs were confirmed or
deposed and new ones appointed, direct and indirect taxation was introduced, and forced labour was
demanded for the construction of roads and railways. All these measures naturally generated
various reaction (Cohen and Boahen 68).
In 1899, while still under colonialization, the Temne and Mende people of Sierra Leone led a
rebellion, the Hut Tax Rebellion, in protest to taxes imposed by the British because, Sierra
Leoneans did not passively accept such manipulations. ( World Culture ) Before the Portuguese
arrived in Ghana in the fifteenth century, kingdoms in that region had already developed among
various Akan speaking and neighboring groups and were in the process of expanding their wealth,

trade business was in full swing. During which in Ghana, the Ashanti kingdom emerged as a

The Importance Of Professional Development
Engaging teachers in a learning community, fosters professional growth by developing relationships
among peers (Schramm, 2006). Learning communities provide professional development that is
implemented to improve the learning of students and professionalism of teachers. Teachers within
learning communities are organized in order to collaborate on addressing goals that are aligned
with expected school and district outcomes. Effective leadership is a key factor in effective
implementation of professional development within a school (Schramm, 2006). In order to
maximize the benefits of professional development opportunities, school leaders need to provide
staff development that is focused on improving the learning of students. Focused professional
development requires skillful school leaders who are knowledgeable and capable of guiding
teachers and the school in continuous instructional improvement. Providing teachers with access to
resources that support the strategies learned during professional development is imperative for
effective implementation (Schramm, 2006). Increasing teacher exposure to educational resources,
benefits both the teacher and the student. However, in order for resources to adequately meet the
need of the teacher and student, professional development must be provided on effective use and
implementation. Professional development that provides teachers with the tools and knowledge to
effectively use data is necessary for improving student outcomes

Glass Ball And The Law Of Attraction
Glass Ball An idealist is a person who is guided more by ideals than by practical consideration; In
other word, an idealist realizes that he or she can create there own world. Perception, ideals, and
beliefs are what make people failures or successful ; coincidentally, the definition of success and
failure is also a perception. Diving deeper into this mysterious theory or fact, beliefs people have
ultimately control what actions they take on a daily basis. An example of this, using a common
fear with an estimation of 75% of people has, would be the glossophobia, also known as the fear
of public speaking. If a person believed that public speaking is frightening and could ruin their
reputation, then most likely he or she will avoid public speaking; conversely, if that same person
believed that public speaking is fun and easy, they may be more inclined to giving a public speech
without hesitation. (Glossophobia)... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To briefly touch on one, the Law of Attraction, it basically comes down to positive thoughts attract
positive life experiences, while negative thoughts attract negative life experiences. Multiple famous
and successful people believe in the idea of the Law of Attraction, some including Will Smith,
Oprah Winfrey, Jim Carrey, and Denzel Washington. The reasonI connect to idealism and the Law
of Attraction is primarily because of its limitless power and opportunity to be and become the best
version of you without the world s bias of what you should be like. (The Seven Universal

The Human Body Analysis
The human body components work in such a complex manner in order to keep the body
functioning properly. It always works to keep itself at equilibrium, maintaining all levels of its
constituents. The body controls what is ingested by analyzing it, then separating and taking
whatever is needed by the cells of the body. For example; to control excess glucosewithin the body,
several mechanisms need to take place in order to decrease the excess glucose to its appropriate
level in the body. This is achieved by the help of two important glucoregulatory hormones; insulin
and glucagon, which are designed to maintain flowing glucose concentrations at quite narrow
ranges (Aronoff, Berkowitz, Shreiner Want, 2004). This essay will examine the events... Show more

This is where the hormones; insulin and glucagon interfere. Insulin is a regulatory hormone of
glucose which is produced and released by beta cells in the pancreas; an organ located behind
the stomach (Niddk.nih.gov, 2015). Insulin secretion is triggered by the presence of great
amounts of glucose and it helps cells utilize glucose as a form of energy (Niddk.nih.gov, 2015).
It plays a major role in how the body uses digested food for energy. It allows the body to use the
immense glucose in a safe and efficient manner, as excess glucose in the blood poses illnesses
upon the body. First, insulin signals the cells that there is glucose present for usage. The cells
may need and take that glucose if they are in need of energy or may reject that available glucose
if they have sufficient amounts of it to carry out their tasks (Anon, 2015). In the case where cells
may reject the glucose, it will have to be used up differently or stored. Insulin then carries
glucose to other parts of the body like the muscle and liver cells (Anon, 2015). Insulin triggers
the liver and muscle cells to store excessive glucose in the form of glycogen (Bano, 2013). When
the muscle and liver cells use up or store the given glucose in the form of glycogen, blood
glucose levels decrease and insulin reduces the production of glucose in the liver (Bano, 2013).
The stored glycogen can later be reconverted back to glucose when sugar levels fall. After
providing glucose to the muscle and liver cells, the insulin will carry glucose to the adipose tissue
where fat cells are present (Bano, 2013). The fat cells will also accept the extra glucose and store it
for later

  • 3. Mozart And Beethoven s Musical Origins Haydn began his musical career as a choirboy in Vienna up until the age of 17. Mozart and Beethoven s musical origins are similar, both coming from families with musical backgrounds. Mozart s father taught him and his sister before taking them to tour throughout Europe. Beethoven also studied with his father before receiving his study abroad opportunity in Vienna in 1792. After serving as a choirboy, Haydn found himself in need of a means to make a living. He was barely able to support himself as a freelance musician. Haydn s first serious position occurred around 1757 when he became music director for Count Morzin. It was also around this time that Haydn began to write some of his first symphonies. Most of Haydn s earlier symphonies were three movement works (fast slow fast), somewhat like the Italian opera overture. Other symphonies were four movement works arranged much like a sonata de chiesa. In 1761, Haydn began working for the EsterhГЎzy princes, spending nearly 30 years at the EsterhГЎzy court. He composed at every wish of the EsterhГЎzy princes; any work they demanded. Haydn s duties included conducting, training, and supervising all musicians, and maintaining instruments. He built an orchestra of 25 players His time at Eszterhaza really influenced the success of his career; Haydn got to hear his work in excellent performances. Because Esterhaza was so isolated, vsitors would often keep him in the loop about music events in other locations. Haydn s compositions ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. The Relationship Between The English And French Canadians ENGLISH FRENCH RELATIONS By: Kimia Pourheidary As a great man once said Love thy neighbor as thyself , as easy as that may sound, it was very difficult for the French English Canadian to get along and love each other instead of hate. The relationship between the English and French Canadians was very tense in the 20th century. This power struggle led to the separation of two large populations In Canada and created conflicts within the country. The many debates which were not solved between the two sides had a great impact on French English relations. Throughout the years, their relationship was and still is very rocky. There are many reasons which explain why they have such strong hatred towards each other, but the most common ones were; biculturalism, belief/politics, and most importantly bilingualism. The first example which thoroughly explains the struggles between the Quebecers and Canadians is biculturalism. The relationship between the English and French Canadians first became rocky when the Quebecers felts that their majority position was threatened by an English speaking minority that constitutes thirty four percent of the population of Montreal (Francophone Anglophone relations). Two nations warring in the bosom of a single state was said by Lord Durham which describes the French and English Canadian relationship. Discuss the view that class is still the most important factor influencing the way people vote Voting behaviour is the way in which the individuals of the electorate vote. Typically this can be divided into a sociological approach based on entrenched characteristics such as class, age and region and rational choice approach based on individual decisions based on political issues, governance and party leaders or image. Between the years of 1945 1970 social class dominantly shaped the voting behaviour of individuals. Conservatives receive an increasing percentage of votes in correlation with age and Lib Dem and Labour have high performance among the younger groups. The writer G.B. Shaw once wrote that, If you are not a socialist by the time you are 25, you have no heart. If you are not a Conservative by the time you are 35, you have no head . There is the entrenched view that young people are more liberal whilst as individuals grow older they become more set in their ways, more wedded to traditional values and attitudes and more likely to believe that Conservative governments are more likely to safeguard their financial and personal security which appear increasingly important in later life. Considering this, surprisingly in the 2010 general election, the ages of 18 24 voted fairly equally between the three main parties with the age bias gap only really becoming apparent from the age 55 onwards. This shows that younger prejudices and party alignment are not as ingrained as that of the elderly meaning that old people may be influenced in their voting behaviour by their age but the same is not as apparent for young people, despite the surface recognition that it is. Yet the implication of young people sharing their votes between parties could be due to other factors, when ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Causes Of World Hunger In The World Tommy Luong Dave King English 150 20 September 2017Without Food Death Is All I Have Left To Eat The day usually starts with breakfast but there is no food to be seen or be eaten, so all that is left to do is starve and wait until your next opportunity to eat happens. This is a reality for those around the world as some people are unable to get food for themselves or for their families. This is contributed by the world s population being around 7 billion people and still growing to a higher population. This high population and its rapid growth rate of about 80 million births per year can lead to potential food shortages in different places in the world that makes world hunger becoming a major social problem that can lead to disease and countries dying because of starvation. Some would say that helping world hunger is a waste of developed nations resources. However that is something I disagree with because a lot of the world production of goods come from undeveloped countries. In order to reduce the problem they re should be a way to limit the population growth in countries in the world that are highly populated besides China s one child law already in place or have a way to better sustain the world s growing population. The causes of world hunger in the world is due to the increase in population in very developed countries allowing a longer life span causing the world population to increase more quickly because there would be a higher consumption of food and it would ... The objectives and principles also mandate special consideration be given to the smaller, less developed countries of the hemisphere. These provisions reflect both the unique challenges facing the smaller, poorer countries and their influence in a process in which each country, regardless of size, in effect has veto power. With the FTAA negotiations still at an early stage, it would be useful to remember that the important decisions in multilateral trade talks usually do not get made until the very end, frequently when it appears as though the talks will fail to produce a significant agreement. This pattern is built into the FTAA process as the negotiations are conducted as a single undertaking, and there is no agreement until everything is decided. The biggest slow down of the negotiations was the continued failure of the U.S. Congress to renew the President Clinton s fast track authority, his ability to negotiate trade agreements and submit them to up or down votes. The 1994 Miami Summit ended with assurances from President Clinton that he would secure fast track authority and use it to gain Chile s admission to NAFTA. Without it, not only has Chile s admission to NAFTA fallen by the wayside, but there are growing questions about U.S. approval of the final FTAA agreement. • 24. Edward Taylor Prologue Poem Analysis In Edward Taylor s Prologue he seeks to demonstrate the inferiority of man in respect to God s glory. Taylor begins his piece by creating a metaphor in which his own subsidiarity to God is described in terms of physical stature and uniqueness. He then purposefully includes phrases with erroneous meter and imperfect rhymes to demonstrate that his inferiority extends to his abilities as a writer. Taylor further attempts to establish his lack of authorial skills by including repetitious words, implying that he lacks an extensive vocabulary. When combined these tactics serve to support the idea that Edward Taylor has many shortcomings, both as a human and a poet, especially in comparison to the greatness of God. Taylor begins demonstrating his meagerness by describing the vast inequity between physical standing of God and man by employing a metaphor. In this metaphor, Taylor is but a mere Crumb of Dust in comparison to the glory of God s creation (line 1). This contrast firstly demonstrates Taylor s inadequacy when examined from a physical perspective; Taylor is but the smallest piece of dust, while God s glory is, comparatively, almost endless in size and scope. God being larger than Edward Taylor serves to suggest that God is thus innately superior to Taylor, as greater size implies superiority over those with smaller builds. Therefore, Taylor is not simply seeking to suggest that God is physically larger than himself, but instead aiming to use their difference in bodily ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Property Dualism Dualism is generally defined as the division of a concept into two contrasting aspects. Dualism addresses the mind body problem by claiming that the body and mind are separate. Various alternatives to the dualist theory propose the mind and body is connected, materialism everything is physical. Nevertheless, dualists agree, that the essential essence nature of conscious intelligence resides in something nonphysical, in something forever beyond the scope of science (7, Churchland). This nonphysical realm of the mindis considered to have a causal systematic connection with the body, driving a person to act with purpose. This connection, between the physical and nonphysical, is supposed to be what makes your body you and not someone else. Dualists try to offer an explanation behind the connection and separation of the mind and body by using senses and experiences to characterize conscious intelligence.... Substance dualism theorizes that the mind is divided into two substances, one that is a physical substance(body) and one that is a nonphysical substance(mind). This nonphysical substance, the immortal soul, is seen as a part of you separate from your body, a part that could possibly live on past your body s physical degradation. Property dualism is slightly different in the sense that it attributes the physical brain as having a set of non physical properties, rather than a substance. This theory works to narrow the gap in empirical evidence by no longer claiming some mystical substance that lives on forever, but still attempts to account for the part of our minds we have yet to understand. As a property, this theory can then be regarded as a concept that cannot be reduced to the physical or explained by science, a science of mental ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. Persuasive Essay About Public Shame Shame corrodes the very part of us that believes we are capable of change (BrenГ© Brown). In The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne, a woman is publicly shamed for having a child with a man who is not her husband. Another example of public shame can be seen in modern day articles Florida Scarlet Letter Law is Repealed by Gov. Bush, by Dana Canedy, and Houston Couple Gets The Scarlet LetterTreatment. Both talk of public shamethat people have had to endure in the present day. Public shaming is not an effective punishment because it is a cruel and unusual punishment, it does not deter crime, and it can emotionally traumatize the one being shamed. One of the main reasons why public shame is not an effective punishment is because it is a cruel and unusual punishment. The Eighth Amendment to the United States Constitution states that cruel and unusual punishments [shall not be] inflicted. The verdict of public shame is not morally just and should not be accepted in society. In The Scarlet Letter, Hester Prynneundergoes public torment for having a baby with a man other than her husband. She feels the shame of the punishment most when forced to walk through the square, under the scrutiny and torment of the town: In a moment, however, wisely judging that one token of her shame would but poorly serve to hide another, she took the baby on her arm, and, with a burning blush, and yet a haughty smile, and a glance that would not be abashed, looked around at her ... Made in December of 1891 by Dr. James Naismith it is still being played today. Although basketball looks like a lot of running, dribbling, and shooting you ll learn that there is a lot more things that go into it. The art of shooting a basketballis a whole lot more than just aiming at the goal and flicking your wrist. You have to be able to have the right arc and trajectory to be able to get the ball through the hoop. Not only do those things go into a jump shot, but also spin is very important in shooting a shot. For instance, if you have the right speed and direction of spin on the ball than if you miss your shot, the way the ball spins off the rim or backboard may result in you hitting a lucky shot. The effects of air resistance of the ball are so small because of small velocities, so spin of a shot in air is not useful. What spin is useful for is for a better chance of the ball going in if the ball hits the rim (Kentridge). If you have the right amount of spin, trajectory, and arc on the ball than the better chance you have of getting the perfect swish. The backspin, after contact with the back rim or board, will result in a change in velocity opposite to the spin direction, changing an equal angle rebound into a velocity more toward the net (Willis). Backspin is very crucial in shooting a ball. If you do not have rotation on your ball then more than likely you will miss most of the shots you take. They will just bounce off of the rim or backboard without having a chance of bouncing in. With the spin on a shot, some of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 49. The Human Body Analysis The human body components work in such a complex manner in order to keep the body functioning properly. It always works to keep itself at equilibrium, maintaining all levels of its constituents. The body controls what is ingested by analyzing it, then separating and taking whatever is needed by the cells of the body. For example; to control excess glucosewithin the body, several mechanisms need to take place in order to decrease the excess glucose to its appropriate level in the body. This is achieved by the help of two important glucoregulatory hormones; insulin and glucagon, which are designed to maintain flowing glucose concentrations at quite narrow ranges (Aronoff, Berkowitz, Shreiner Want, 2004). This essay will examine the events... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is where the hormones; insulin and glucagon interfere. Insulin is a regulatory hormone of glucose which is produced and released by beta cells in the pancreas; an organ located behind the stomach (Niddk.nih.gov, 2015). Insulin secretion is triggered by the presence of great amounts of glucose and it helps cells utilize glucose as a form of energy (Niddk.nih.gov, 2015). It plays a major role in how the body uses digested food for energy. It allows the body to use the immense glucose in a safe and efficient manner, as excess glucose in the blood poses illnesses upon the body. First, insulin signals the cells that there is glucose present for usage. The cells may need and take that glucose if they are in need of energy or may reject that available glucose if they have sufficient amounts of it to carry out their tasks (Anon, 2015). In the case where cells may reject the glucose, it will have to be used up differently or stored. Insulin then carries glucose to other parts of the body like the muscle and liver cells (Anon, 2015). Insulin triggers the liver and muscle cells to store excessive glucose in the form of glycogen (Bano, 2013). When the muscle and liver cells use up or store the given glucose in the form of glycogen, blood glucose levels decrease and insulin reduces the production of glucose in the liver (Bano, 2013). The stored glycogen can later be reconverted back to glucose when sugar levels fall. After providing glucose to the muscle and liver cells, the insulin will carry glucose to the adipose tissue where fat cells are present (Bano, 2013). The fat cells will also accept the extra glucose and store it for later ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
