Australia s Automotive Industry Overview
1. Australia s Automotive industry overview The Automotive industry in Australia is composed
of a variety of smaller industries that have performed unsteadily over the five years through 2015
16. Motor vehicle wholesalers and dealers have been supported by high sales of new cars and the
increasing numbers of motor vehicles registered on Australian roads have benefited service agents.
On the other hand, local motor vehicle producers have a complex scenario because high petrol
prices during the past five years period in Australia, made consumers to choose reasonably priced,
fuel efficient imported vehicles rather than high consume locally manufactured cars. As a result of
these opposing tendencies, industry revenue is predicted to rise at... Show more content on

Australia s automotive manufacturing industry is going through an important change: В· Motor
vehicle manufacturers in Australia could not find the way to remain competitive in the aggressive
international and national automotive markets; Ford, Holden and Toyota have made public they
are not going to produce anymore local manufacturing before the end of 2017. В· As a
consequence of the closing of the motor vehicle manufacturing plants and the pressure and ongoing
adjustments on the supply chain, it has been calculated that up to 40. 000 people will possibly lose
their jobs. It is imminent that job losses will be ongoing over several years. В· The Australian
automotive manufacturing industry is one of the most heavily subsided. Many years of assistance
to automotive manufacturing firms ($30 billion between 1997 and 2012) has anticipated, but not
stopped, the current big structural adjustment of the industry. В· Labour expenses in automotive
manufacturing are considerably higher in Australia than in countries such as China and Thailand
but not significantly different from those in developed countries such as Germany and Japan. The
labour market in Australia is quite unstable; many workers lose their jobs in a one year period
and many people with no job are hired. From February 2012 2013, about 355.000 people were
fired across Australia. Unemployment and social disadvantage in this industry are specially
concentrated in the following regions: North

Mysteries Of The Mind Analysis
After conducting a close reading of Victor Davis Hanson s article, Monasteries of the Mind, I came
to the consensus that he provided many plausible and thought provoking arguments regarding the
political climate in the United States right now. He asserts in the article that in recent months there
has been a double standard from what was accepted and praised during the Obama administration
and and what is looked down upon in the Trump administration. In fact, Hanson accentuated that,
There is now something called the Resistance, which by its nomenclature poses that its opposition
to Trump is reminiscent of European partisan resistance to Hitler [1]. I find this accusation to be a
bit extreme, because while many of his policies anger and offend... Show more content on

Civilization continues to be indolent and naive and real change will never come about, because
people are too stubborn to ever change their ways and believe that their problems can be solved
with someone else s help. However, this help will never come, because of the never ending cycle
of laziness that embodies many Americans. Speaking of American s indolence, I was taken aback
by Hanson s assertion of sports and media with the general public, Instead, they have checked out
mentally from American popular entertainment, sports, and the progressive cultural project in
general [1]. This was shocking because I would think that more and more people are getting sucked
into this dry form of entertainment, because of their intruding laziness. Yes, there are certainly
people who are beginning to realize there are changes to be made to the country, however, I think
that the majority of citizens are still blind to the truth. Furthermore, I strongly disagree with Hanson
s statement associated and directed towards Colin Kaepernick who back in August of 2016 refused
to stand for the national anthem, as a $20 million per annum, mediocre, and pampered quarterback

Young Man In A Grey Sweater Essay
Diego Rivera s Young Man in a Grey Sweater depicts the portrait of sculptor Jacques Lipchitz. The
piece was painted in 1914 in Paris, with oil on canvas. Present location is Museum of Modern Art,
New York.
This is rectangular piece, the size of 65.1 x 54.9 cm. Looking from a distance, painting has a
uniform color spectrum. Artist uses mostly warm earth tone palette: beige, grey, yellow and burnt
umber, with black for creating outline of the forms, and occasional multicolored patches for
additional accents. There is no visible source of light, however lighter areas of the painting are
focused in the center, while more contrast and darker areas tend to be around the middle section.
From a distance, brushstrokes look more unified, but when looking up closer, we can notice that
artist, while blending colors, uses distinctive strokes. So even blended, colors create some visual
texture. There is no noticeable degree of perspective or depth, painting looks rather flat.
Painting is done in cubist manner. The whole image is fragmented, with each fragment having a
geometrical shape. There are thick dark lines that divide each fragment one from another, so image
looks broken in pieces. The subject of the painting, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So how can it be distinguished among many other paintings inspired by the cubism movement?
Young Man in a Grey Sweater can t be defined as a pure analytical cubism. Though Rivera uses
typical palette of this kind of cubism, the elements are not translucent and intricate enough, there
are some texture and foreign colorful patterns. But it can t be an example of synthetic cubism
either, not enough construction, no perspective, image is still flat. Thus, Young Man in a Grey
Sweater is located somewhere in the middle of two types of cubism. Undefined, it doesn t loose its
beauty. It means that the painting can go beyond the established categories, and we can clearly read

United Parcel Service s IPO In any organization, financial analysis is one of the most basic parts of
evaluation of a company operation in any business environment. As businesses operate, it is very
important that the managers know the real environment for which a firm carries out its activities.
The competitions evident in the market are substantial to the decision making process of a firm.
Also, firms need to give much attention to the market forces of a particular industry to make sure

Nonmoral Nature Gould Summary
Throughout Nonmoral Nature , Gould explains that we need to look at nature without personifying
it or putting human values on it. He believes that those who approach a scientific situation with a
pre established view in mind are preventing the kind of objectivity and fairness that scientific
examination is supposed to produce. Gould explains that the existence of what seems to be evil in
nature creates an argument between scientists and creationists. Many phenomena that occur in
nature seem to be wrong or disturbing, and go against the idea that Godcreates everything and that
everything is benevolent. One such creature is the ichneumon wasp. The ichneumon wasp is the
stuff of nightmares; the larva are planted inside of a caterpillar or other

Consequences Of Colonialism By European Nations

Ou Libere? Are You Free? There have been countless consequences of colonialism by European
nations. The power of the church bent to the desire for land and wealth, warped to justify atrocities
impacting the globe. Unfortunately, there is one consequence that continues to devastate nations
throughout the globe today; violence. To begin to understand the effects we must first understand
why and how we got to the point of no return and the driving factor behind unsolicited and at
times, bloody invasions across the world. This ongoing turmoil and social injustices lead us to a
resounding No. While attempting to find new access to the prosperous goods and gold of Asia,

Some of these effects can be seen in the Africa s neighbor Sri Lanka, south of India, as seen
through the eyes of a young boy in the novel Funny Boy by Shyam Selvadurai. As the life of
Arjie unfolds in his home of Sri Lanka, we are driven down many winding roads. The internal
struggle of a young boy trying to come of age in a Tamil family hardened by life after colonization
and the racial tension between the Tamil and the Sinhalese. Under British colonial rule, the
majority of the Tamil inhabitants of Sri Lanka was brought in as slaves with few working within
governmental positions. The Sinhalese people outnumbered and continued to persecute the Tamil
population once the British departed. The following years were similarly as brutal as those once
seen during forced enslavement. Although they had achieved freedom to some degree, the
Sinhalese government achieved new heights of corruption and used many means to continue the
oppression and separation of the two races. Many Tamil families, like Arjie s, accepted the fragile
state of affairs, but the animosity from years of violence and subjugation was deeply imbedded in
family culture and values. The gradual transition from steadfast animosity, to acceptance and
questioning of the strains between the two races on a larger scale is scene across three generations
presented to us in the text. The social constructs for the people of Sri Lanka were built on sand.

My mind is a lot stronger than my body and I can t lie and say that it doesn t bother my state of
mind on most days. I have to fight against the pain that I feel everyday and try not to complain
about it unless it s completely unbearable at that moment. It can take a good thirty minutes to an
hour to get out of bed when I wake up because my limbs might be temporarily paralyzed or my
heart is tachycardic and there s nothing I can do about it. But once I get myself together after I
wake up, I say a prayer, think positive thoughts and go on about my day!
Because my days are so unpredictable, I literally have to take one day at a time. Planning upcoming
days can seem like an impossible feat because I never know how my body will respond. Most
bloggers are great at planning their blog schedules ahead of time and sticking to it. To be honest, I
started to develop blogger envy because I would read posts about how well other bloggers could
stick to their schedule and because of their consistency, their following grew exponentially. I was
struggling with growing my following on social networks because I couldn t be as consistent as
them. That destroyed my inner peace and I never should of let that happen because most of those
bloggers don t face the same challenges as me and I shouldn t have been comparing my grass to

Spreading Your Wings Essay
The mythological story of Icarus is ...interpreted variously as an allegory of pride, or of man s
quest for knowledge, as The Bloomsbury Guide to Art stated in their article ( Icarus ). This idea
of the quest of knowledge itself applies to the work of Russell Whiting, a sculptor whose work is
featured in the River Gallery SculpturePark of Chattanooga and who sculpted a statue of Icarus as
well. In correlation with the interpretation of the story of Icarus being a man s quest for
knowledge, Whiting did not just fall in love with the process of carving steel, but also with the
potential for self expression, variation, and knowledge regarding steel still left to be attained. The
majority of Whiting s work... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here, Whiting emphasizes the fact that he does not specifically analyze or try to represent his
work, though often originating from other previous artist facets, in a certain manner. Rather, he
lets his artistic expression flow out of him and leaves the analysis to his viewers. Therefore,
being fully open to interpretation, a viewer may infer a variety of things from Whiting s
sculpture of Icarus. Approaching the piece from an iconographic perspective, Icarus conveys a
sense of freedom and the presence of ignorance and naivety associated with being young. For
some, an acknowledgeable aspect of the piece may be the fact that he chose to suspend Icarus
off the side of the hill at the far end of the garden. In fact, the anchoring which holds him up is
built in such a way as to elude the public to believe he is not attached at all but merely freely
leaning out over the crisp water with his outstretched wings. Whiting also paid a remarkable
amount of attention to the texture present on the wings and the muscular tone of the body. The
tone and idealization of the body, which is anatomically similar to that of a boy, is realistic with
hints of idealization of form. Furthermore, an interesting aspect of Icarus being placed distantly
over the water is that his face is hidden from viewers. Whiting may have chosen to position him
like this so as to incorporate a sense of mystery and add to the psychological value of the piece.

Familiarity and First Impressions in You Only Get One...
In You Only Get One Chance , journalist Jen Kim addresses the importance of first impressions
and how people are categorized by others within seconds of meeting (2014). She goes on to say
that first impressions are so strongly developed, that they can often make one ignore all information
that is already known to them about that individual (Kim, 2014). Kim bases this assertion with
researchfrom the empirical study, Familiarity increases the accuracy of categorizing male sexual
orientation, by Marco Brambilla, Paolo Riva, and Nicholas O. Rule, published in the peer
reviewed Journal of Personality and Individual Differences (2013). Kim decently reports the
methods and results of the research. Yet like many other journalists, Jen Kim neglects to inform her
audience about certain aspects of the study that are important when analyzing its results. Essential
information about the claim and validities of the empirical study are lost in the journal to
journalism cycle (Morling, 2012). These minor alterations of information should drive the
audience to question the accuracy of the popular press article. Both the popular press article and
the empirical study make a causal claim. A causal claim is a statement that suggests one variable is
the cause for the change in the second variable (Morling, 2012). Kim states that our first judgments
of people are so strong, that they often override what we are told about them, implying that one s
first judgments causes one to disregard

Japanese immigrants were involved in the Australian Pearling industry, as well as occasionally
found in sugar stations alongside the South See Islanders; the first Japanese immigrant arrived

immigration from Japan was banned until 1949[4][1], followed by a large scale movement in

The Deployment Of Economic Sanctions On The International...
The deployment of economic sanctions on the international stage by states to influence the behavior
of other states has become the norm in International Relations. Despite the increase in popularity of
this practice over the course of the past century, the question of its efficiency is one that is still
debated and remains unanswered. The idea that putting economic pressures on a countryto illicit a
certain behavior or change in behavior from that country works in theory, but in practice, it is more
complicated and does not necessarily work the way that theory suggests it should. Some economists
and policy analysts have taken the approach of deconstructing the subject in order to consider what

Positive sanctions are meant to foster relations between countries. Negative sanctions are intended
to cause another country economic harm. The debate around economic sanctions typically focuses
on the negative kind. Sanctions can be unilateral from one sender country to one target country or
multilateral from multiple countries. Multilateral sanctions can be orchestrated by one main
country supported by other countries, or they can be sent under the auspices of an international
organization. Raul Caruso distinguishes three different kinds of negative sanctions boycotts,
embargoes, and
Kassim 3 financial sanctions. A boycott is the restriction of imports from the targetcountry;
embargoes are restrictions on exports to the target country; financial sanctions are restrictions on
investment in the target country (Caruso Should We Set 23). Kaempfer and Lowenberg posit
that economic sanctions can be proposed for the following three reasons: in response to a nation
that threatens the wealth or security of the sender nation; to achieve moral or ideological goals;
as a part of trade policy and commercial relations i.e. in response to tariffs or quotas (Kaempfer
2). The question of whether or not sanctions are efficient is a difficult one to answer. A major
contributing factor to this difficulty is the lack of a universal standard for gauging success.
Analysts create the criteria by which to judge success, and these criteria are not accepted by

enjoyable for children and can satisfy one s sugary cravings. As an illustration, many fruits such
as strawberries, blueberries, and bananas can be made into delicious fruit smoothies that are

sugar are more addicting than cocaine. In fact, in the documentary Fed Up, scientists showed that
43 cocaine addicted rats were given the choice between cocaine water and sugar water. 40 out of

among the largest social problems human beings face in the world today.
Both theorists have different theories of the social concept Classism, however they are not that
much different from one another. Karl Marx utilizes the term proletariat to refer to the working
class . Marx views the members of each class as sharing their own distinctive culture. Max Weber...

This allows us to raise our brows to the problems with socialism, and where the government is
failing us. Marx used the concept of class consciousness to refer to a subjective awareness held by
members of a class regarding their common vested interests and need for collective political action
to bring about social change.
According to Marx, class is qualitatively different from gender and race and cannot be considered
just another system of oppression. Globally racism and sexism differs depending on the
situation, but in nature produces the same issues. Racism is a major social problem in more than
just one part of the world. There is not a connection between certain races and how they are
treated in similar countries, there is a drift among racially divided cultures. For example, 1/4
white men who use coke are caught for it while 1/17 black men who use it are caught. The number
of white to black users are the same, however the conviction rate is very different.
Feminism is another social problem troubling human societies all over the world. Feminism is an
issue of Dominance of Men over Women around the world. The feminist theory is a result of the
general movement to empower women worldwide. According to Weber feminism can be defined as

The Robertson Family Analysis
The arrival of a new baby brings excitement, joy, and anticipation. The Robertson family was
certainly no exception to these feelings when their son Steven was born. Ida and John Robertson
were like most new parents when it came to expectations and interactions with their son on a daily
basis. This nuclear familyof three soon realized their way of life would be altered as they struggled
to adapt to Steven s condition. As their little boy continued to grow, the parents would enquire
about genetic testing, search for a school conducive to Steven s needs, and learn to embrace a
lifestyle in which Steven would thrive.
Ida and John observed their son s delayed reactions and lack of interest in engaging activities while
interacting with him. However, Ida explained that she was a new mother and did not understand
fully why Steven would not respond to her facial gestures. Ida began to question if Steven s
condition was related to her older sister s intellectual disability. Therefore, the couple sought genetic
testing and genetic counseling in hopes of explaining their son s behavior. The ... Show more

Eventually, John and Ida chose a university based child development program that has the facilities

The Day of Judgment According to Islam, Christianity and...
Everything that exists today such as life on earth is known to eventually come to an end. Most
religions believe in the day of judgment and it is generally defined to be the day that God judges
the moral worth of the individual humans or the whole human race. Judaism, Islam, and
Christianity are three of the worlds largest religions that have created controversy between many
countries over how they view some aspects of religionsuch as the day of judgement.
In Islam, the day of judgement is broken down in many stages and is known as Qiyama .
Muslims believe that one day they will all be standing in front of Allah (swt) and will be judged
for the way they live their lives on earth. It is learned from Muslim scholars that all around the
world people will hear loud trumpets. When the first blowing of the trumpet takes place every
life such as humans, animals, and even plants, will taste its death. All of existence will cease to
exist except for Allah (swt). During the second stage, all souls will come back to life by
returning to their bodies. During this stage all life is being prepared to stand in front of the Lord
of the universe. Every living thing will be confronted of the deeds they commit in throughout
their life on earth in Allah s (swt) court of justice. The all mighty Allah (swt) will be the sole
judge on this day of reckoning. Whoever believes in the Allah (swt) and did righteous good deeds
within their lives according to Allah s (swt) guidance, will be

Photography And Its Effects On Impressionism
Photography and its Effects on Impressionism Dakota Saunders Rewind roughly back to the
1860 s. Several apprentice painters, namely Claude Monet, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Alfred Sisley,
and FrГ©dГ©ric Bazille learned that they did not share the same views of the AcadГ©mie des
Beaux Arts. The Academy believed that mythological and historical scenes for painting was
vastly superior to that of still life and landscape scenes. The AcadГ©mie des Beaux Arts would
run an art show, the Salon de Paris, which was the only way for an artist during that time to gain
prestige, commissions, and of course money. The Salon would only accept paintings which
were in their approved style, which was based on the art of the old masters. Since the art of these
young painters did not conform to the standards put forth by the AcadГ©mie des Beaux Arts,
their art was mostly rejected until Emperor Napoleon III settled to allow the public to judge the
submitted art themselves. The Salon des RefusГ©s was created just for this purpose. The results
of the new Salon were such; While many viewers came only to laugh, the Salon des RefusГ©s
drew attention to the existence of a new tendency in art and attracted more visitors than the regular
Salon. (Denvir, pg. 194). Louis Leroy wrote a disparaging review on Monet s work, Impression,
Sunrise . He suggested that Monet s painting was a sketch, and it could not be called a finished
work. This was where the Impressionists acquired their name. Yet even though their

The Effect Of Compression Over Bioimpedance Of Healthy...
The present study determines the effect of compression over bioimpedance of healthy soft tissue (in
vitro and in vivo). Electrical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) is a promising tissue characterization
and tumor detection technique that uses tissue impedance or admittance to characterize tissue and
identify tissue properties as well as cell structure. Variation in EIS measurements while applying
pressure suggests that compression tends to affect soft tissue bioimpedance. Moreover, the
displacements in tissue caused by applied compression may provide useful information about the
structure and state of the tissue. Thus combining the changes to the electrical properties of tissue
resulted by applied compression, with the changes in tissue displacements caused by applied
compression, and consequently measuring the effect that electrical and mechanical properties have
on each other, can be useful to identify tissue structure. In this study, multifrequency bioimpedance
measurements were performed on in vitro and in vivo soft tissue at different pressure levels.
Increasing compression on the in vitro tissue results in an increase in both extracellular resistance
and membrane capacitance while it causes a reduction in the intracellular resistance. However, as
the compression over the in vivo samples increases, the intracellular and extracellular resistance
increase and the membrane capacitance decreases. The in vivo measurements on human body are
also tested on contra lateral tissue

The question of how long it will take a spacecraft to reach Mars depends on where we are
because both planets are constantly orbiting the Sun. According to Space.Com, on average, it
would take around 162 days to reach Mars [3] Because the Mars and Earth is so far away, we
can expect that there are many differences among the two planets. Living on Earth is as
comfortable as it is, and so this leads us to the question as to why we would want to risk our
health, and our life to go out into space and do explorations Different people have different say
in this matter, but Fox News has generated multiple reasons why we should have human
explorations on Mars. The first and most obvious reason would be because we want more
scientific knowledge and discover more about the Mars. We were able to gain many knowledge
about the Mars through robotic explorations, but scientist and others aspiring scientist have strong
enthusiasm that humans can do a more thorough exploration on the mars. The hopes of exploring
Mars and other planets will then inspire the younger generations to become more aware and
interested in the STEM field [2]. Another popular reason why we want to have human
explorations on Mars is for advancement in our knowledge and possible expansion of humanity. It
is known that Mars is the planet that is most similar to our planet Earth, so this challenges us to
explore more about Mars [2]. The first question we want to address is what will

Critical Appreciation Of Robert Frost s Poetry
Poetry in the purest form comes from an author that is writing from his or her own life
experiences and Robert Frost did just that. In three words I can sum up everything I ve learned
about life: it goes on. Frost uttered these words in remark to how he coped with his troubled life. He
dealt with heaps of loss throughout his lifetime which led to him expressing his innermost thoughts
and feelings through poetry. Robert Frosts poetry was influenced by his depression that came from
the many trials he went through during his life, the different places he lived and the many poets he
befriended.
Frost dealt with depression caused by onerous circumstances in his life and these circumstances
profoundly influenced his writing. When Robert was eleven years old he lost his father which
forced his family to move away from their home and try to cope with their lost. This was just the
first of many loved ones who would pass away during his life. Once he got married his first born
son died at the age of four to an illness, his second born committed suicide at the age of thirty
eight, his third child developed a mental illness and his last child died in her early twenties during
childbirth. He went on to also lose his wife to heart attack in 1938 and he was forced to commit
his sister into a mental institution in 1920. After all the loved ones he lost he plunged into a state of
depression which translated into his tone of writing in some of his most famous poems. My

Prospero In The Tempest
Prospero in William Shakespeare s play The Tempest starts out by manipulating his own daughter,
shutting down and controlling Ariel, and by kidnapping an innocent boy to get revenge for being
wronged . Throughout the play he is aggressive and verbally explosive to others, only shares half
truths or will change stories to fit his needs, and while he doesn t always tell the truth he does have
some validation to his stories. Over all, his character morality is rather grey, but through the eyes
and encounters with Miranda, Ariel, Alonso, Ferdinand, Antonio, and Caliban, he has a fairly
minimal character character growth, leaving Prospero as a controlling, manipulative, and
aggressive character. Miranda, his daughter, is able to reflect both his... Show more content on

that Antonio is awful and willing to kill, showing that Prospero has some truth to his story that

Taking a Look at Photographic Film
Photographic film A film can be defined as a material which is chemically reactive and when
exposed to a light source records a fixed or still image. In other words it helps in capturing the
image of a the photographed object, formed from the light reflecting back from its surface.
Technically it is a photographic material consisting of a celluloid base that is covered with a
photographic emulsion that is later used to make the negatives or the transparencies that maybe
contained inside a roll, or maybe a cassette or a cartridge. A film, when developed will produce
transparent negatives. A negative film is a photographic image that is formed on a narrow
transparent strip of sheet whose surface is generally made up of plastic or glass. It is a type of
photographic image that shows the bright areas of the subject photographed as dark and the
dark areas of the subject as light. A negative film can be found in all formats, and can be black and
white or colour. A negative can produce a positive image when light is made to pass through it. A
positive image is actually a normal image while a negative image is a total inversion were the light
areas of the picture becomes dark and the dark as light. Hence a positive is the final image. A
positive can also be made directly from a film, like transparencies ( were a film is processed to give
a positive image directly rather than to give a negative ) what is it made up of film is actually a

A Rhetorical Analysis of “The Death of Honesty” by William...
In The Death of Honesty, William Damon raises the concern that current apathy towards increasing
dishonesty threatens democracy. In this essay taken from the online volume Endangered Virtues
published by the Hoover Institute in 2012, Damon initially concedes that there are situations where
lying could be considered acceptable. However, with that being acknowledged, he transitions to his
main premise that honesty is losing its importance in society and will lead to its downfall, and he
cites examples in politics, law, journalism, and business in contemporary society where dishonesty
is expected, and even, condoned. Damon finally directs his remarks pointedly at teachers and
current students who accept cheating in schools. To persuade... Show more content on

14, 16). Throughout his essay, Damon parallels these arguments of logic along with emotion to
gain a response from the audience. Damon uses descriptive words to carry the audience from
acceptance, to tolerance, and then, outrage in order to convince them of the urgency to espouse
to the virtue of honesty in a democratic society. Although he speaks of the need for compassion,
diplomacy and protection from unadulterated truth, he claims that no one is naive or surprised
their politicians are dishonest (par. 2, 3). Damon uses references to historical figures to invoke a
spiritual and patriotic response from the audience (par. 6). He refers to Gordon Hinkley s
descriptive passage as alarm sounding...a neglected virtue...and problematic status to extract a
response (par. 7). Damon presents a strong warning when he states that we are reaching a
dysfunctional tipping point when honesty becomes the loser s way of operating, and lying is
tolerated (par. 8 9). He also advances that it is most troubling that there is current lack of honesty
amongst young people due to the inconsistent implementation of standards within schools (par. 11).
He goes on to use words like sympathize, excusable, motivate, encourage, vacillate, half hearted to
address the response to cheating in schools (par. 15,16,18, 20). He pulls on the heartstrings of his
audience when warning of the implication of our current moral decline on children in their formative

Homeless Families In America
Homeless Families in America
We generally think of the homeless as people who made bad choices and are doing nothing to
help themselves. We rarely think of the parents who have to decide on either feeding their children
or paying rent. On how one event leads to a series of events that change the course of history for
these families. A familywith only one provider who dies unexpectedly, leaving the family with no
means of providing for itself. A motherwho has to choose the safety of her children over the
comfort her abuser provides. Against popular belief that most homeless are mentally ill or lazy
people who do not want to work, there are many causes of homelessness (Top Causes of
Homelessness in America, 2015).

Transitional means that the family has instability when it comes to having a residence. An
example of a transitional living situation is homelessness, which is obvious when families are
living in shelters. According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, out of
the 1.56 million people the used homeless shelters and emergency homeless centers between
October 1, 2008 and September 30, 2009, five hundred twenty thousand of them were families.
Homeless families are constantly on the move, trying to find a safe place for their family to
sleep. One day they may stay with friends, the next day at a shelter, and the day after that they
may be living under a bridge, in a car, or in an abandoned building. Some families who have no
home, choose to stay with family or friends (Zlotnick, 2014).
Families overcoming Homelessness One of the biggest challenges that families face when
overcoming homelessness is finding a stable residence. Every family faces its own set of unique
challenges. Finding gainful employment after either being underemployed or unemployed. Being

are all different, they provide income to the city in way of taxes, employment to our citizens, and
understanding how each operates and prices their goods can help this city prepare for its financial
future. We will need to analyze each market separately to show the differences and the similarities
so as to understand their effects on the community and whether they allow room for entry and exit
of new firms in order to grow our city economically. There are four market structures that I will

Although the 1978 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) already permitted the
administration to wiretap on an emergency basis and apply for warrants retroactively, the
administration maintained that FISA was too cumbersome when urgent issues of national security
were at stake. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales offered two justifications for the legality of the
domestic spying program, asserting that the president had the inherent authority under the
Constitution, as commander in chief, to engage in this kind of activity and that Congress, when it
authorize[d] the president to use all necessary and appropriate force against al Qaeda in 2001,
indirectly sanctioned it. Critics objected that the wiretapping infringed on civil liberties,
sidestepped the legislative branch, and placed the president above the law. In August 2006, a
federal judge in Detroit ruled the wiretapping program unconstitutional. However, in July 2008,
Congress passed a bill overhauling the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act effectively legalizing
Bush s secret program. The new law gave legal immunity to the telephone companies that

Specsavers Target Audience
In most advertisements, there are five key components that are addressed. They are: form, purpose,
audience, language and context. The relationship between the audience and the advertisement is
important because time is limited to capture the attention of the potential buyer and display the
product that is being advertised. Repetition, association with celebrities and promotions are all
techniques that are used to capture an audience.
In 2016, Specsavers launched a new advertisement called Fawlty Car, starring the famous British
actor John Cleese from the classic TV show Fawlty Towers. The target audience was for the
demographic of sixty plus; people with poor vision requiring spectacles. It promoted their 25%
discount for over sixty year olds. In many advertisements, celebrities are used to sell many different
products. When a celebrity is in a commercial it can influence customer purchases, build awareness
around the product, attract new buyers and it can even bring new life to a failing brand. In the
Specsavers advertisement, John Cleese was used because he is associated with Fawlty Towers, a
hit TV show that over sixty year olds would relate to. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Both advertisements have this in common; if the couple had been wearing Specsavers glasses then

Women s Experiences During The Holocaust
While women s experiences during the Holocaust were not entirely different from those of men, it
would be false and misleading to assert that they were identical. There were many instances in
which an individual s ordeal was shaped by his or her gender and it is only by understanding what
was unique to women and children, and what was unique to men, that we can provide a complete
account of what occurred during the Holocaust. One of the reasons it took so long for historians to
comprehend the importance of these perspectives is because women were busy rebuilding their
lives after the Holocaust. It wasn t until the 1970s when feminist scholarship was sparked, that there
became an interest in the stories of women survivors. Eventually, after the women were able to put
their lives back together and raise their children, it became important for them to share their
memoirs.
One source of gender difference during the Holocaust experience women had more anticipatory
reactions towards Nazi danger. In Germany, even before the 1938 Kristallnachtpogrom, it was
often the women who had to assume new roles to rescue other family members. It was assumed
that the Nazis would not harm women, so it was typically women who went to the police, the SS
and the municipality to protest haphazard actions against their children and families and to secure
the release of husbands and sons who had been detained or arrested.

The major drawback of this approach, however, is that scanning network traffic running on all
ports dramatically increases the processing load on the IDS, which easily leads to an
underpowered system dropping packets and missing potential attacks. This approach will not
be viable on a low powered single board computer as we intend to use. However, both IDS
approaches do some form of protocol parsing to give to the analysts the ability to finely control
what they want to search for when examining a given protocol. Bro IDS includes a facility to
perform signature based detection and a tool called snort2bro that converts Snort signatures to Bro
IDS signatures. Same, Snort IDS signatures can be written to search for anomalous traffic on a
given network. However, this capability is limited by which stream based interpreter the signature
system can understand when finding anomalous traffic. Both Snort and Bro also contain
mechanisms to deal with multistage attacks. Snort s detection in this area is primarily stream
oriented: through the use of its flow bits keyword, Snort can tag a given TCP stream or even a

for a successful attack without actually generating an alert). In such a case, a second or third rule

A Further Analysis Of Report Of Wild Children Essay
Another important factor that plays a role in the development of the monster and feral children is
the presence of abuse and trauma. Abuse and trauma play a role in the development of the creature
and feral children because it affect their cognition, behavior, their idea of self worth, and their
ability to connect with others. Wayne Dennis s essay, A Further Analysis of Reports of Wild
Children , asserts that because of being in conditions of constant stress and threat [from abuse and
trauma], children may have trouble utilizing their cognitive skills (155). Furthermore, Dennis
asserts that because of the conditions that the children experienced they exhibited behaviors that

These are also true for the monster. The presence of abuse and trauma during the development of
the monster affected his cognition, behavior, his idea of self worth, and his ability to connect
with others. The monster having experienced abuse and trauma from his interaction with
humans before, he become traumatized with violence. This is highlighted when he saw Felix
was about to strike him for the second time he was overcome by pain and anguish, [he] quitted
the cottage (Shelley 95) to escape. Furthermore, his behavior also becomes erratic and volatile.
This is shown when he wished to tear up the trees, spread havoc and destruction, and then sit
down and enjoy the ruin (Shelley 95) after his interaction with the De Laceys. In addition, it is
evident that his perception of himself is as a wretch , even saying All men hate the wretched;
how then must I be hated, who am miserable beyond all living things! (Shelley 67 68). Finally,
because of his experience with the barbarity of man , he is very cautious when approaching other
people. This was displayed when he longed to join [the De Laceys], but dared

Exposing the Real Jasmine Essay examples
The prominent characteristic of postcolonial writing is the incorporation of writing back or
rewriting history into the narrative from the point of view of the colonized. Postcolonial narratives
speak out and attempt to expose the injustices of dominant culture often within their own cultural
system. Within this framework, many female authors give agency to the once silenced female voice
of the colonized. By employing their own narratives, many postcolonial female authors demystify
the prescribed ideologies thrust upon them by a patriarchal culturewhile at the same time expressing
their own sense of loss of cultural identity. Therefore, postcolonial literatureapplies a

In Hindu culture, the sex of a baby is more significant than in western cultures. In eastern
countries, boys are revered and cherished while girls are considered curses since being born a
girl brought to the father the burden of paying a dowry. This type of gender hierarchy is
exemplified in Mukherjee s novel by Jasmine s statement, I had a ruby red choker of a bruise
around my neck and a sapphire fingerprints on my collarbone after my birth. When I revealed this
to Taylor s wife, [...] she missed the point and shrieked at my foremothers [...]. My mother was a
sniper. She wanted to spare me the pain of a dowryless bride (Mukherjee 40). Mukherjee utilizes
Jasmine s nonchalant description of her near death experience coupled with her rationalization to
show that the brutal treatment of baby girls is a common occurrence in her culture. Conversely,
the reaction of Taylor s wife is a metaphor for the western perception that the conduct of Jasmine s
mother is a form of barbarism. By using Jasmine s birth, Mukherjee exposes the realties of a male
patriarchal society in which girls bring considered dilemmas to families.
Many postcolonial writers include how the natives land was overtaken by force and as a result, the
natives had to change their identity to conform to the colonial power. While Jasmine relates her
story about living in the native village Hasnapur, she tells the reader that she is married at the age
of fourteen

Australia s Automotive industry overview The Automotive industry in Australia is composed of a variety of smaller industries that have performed unsteadily over the five years through 2015 16. Motor vehicle wholesalers and dealers have been supported by high sales of new cars and the increasing numbers of motor vehicles registered on Australian roads have benefited service agents. Australia s automotive manufacturing industry is going through an important change: В· Motor vehicle manufacturers in Australia could not find the way to remain competitive in the aggressive international and national automotive markets; Ford, Holden and Toyota have made public they are not going to produce anymore local manufacturing before the end of 2017. В· As a consequence of the closing of the motor vehicle manufacturing plants and the pressure and ongoing adjustments on the supply chain, it has been calculated that up to 40. 000 people will possibly lose their jobs. It is imminent that job losses will be ongoing over several years. В· The Australian automotive manufacturing industry is one of the most heavily subsided. Many years of assistance to automotive manufacturing firms ($30 billion between 1997 and 2012) has anticipated, but not stopped, the current big structural adjustment of the industry. В· Labour expenses in automotive manufacturing are considerably higher in Australia than in countries such as China and Thailand but not significantly different from those in developed countries such as Germany and Japan. The labour market in Australia is quite unstable; many workers lose their jobs in a one year period and many people with no job are hired. Mysteries Of The Mind Analysis After conducting a close reading of Victor Davis Hanson s article, Monasteries of the Mind, I came to the consensus that he provided many plausible and thought provoking arguments regarding the political climate in the United States right now. He asserts in the article that in recent months there has been a double standard from what was accepted and praised during the Obama administration and and what is looked down upon in the Trump administration. In fact, Hanson accentuated that, There is now something called the Resistance, which by its nomenclature poses that its opposition to Trump is reminiscent of European partisan resistance to Hitler [1]. Civilization continues to be indolent and naive and real change will never come about, because people are too stubborn to ever change their ways and believe that their problems can be solved with someone else s help. However, this help will never come, because of the never ending cycle of laziness that embodies many Americans. Speaking of American s indolence, I was taken aback by Hanson s assertion of sports and media with the general public, Instead, they have checked out mentally from American popular entertainment, sports, and the progressive cultural project in general [1]. This was shocking because I would think that more and more people are getting sucked into this dry form of entertainment, because of their intruding laziness. Yes, there are certainly people who are beginning to realize there are changes to be made to the country, however, I think that the majority of citizens are still blind to the truth. Furthermore, I strongly disagree with Hanson s statement associated and directed towards Colin Kaepernick who back in August of 2016 refused to stand for the national anthem, as a $20 million per annum, mediocre, and pampered quarterback refuses to stand for the National Anthem ... • 4. Young Man In A Grey Sweater Essay Diego Rivera s Young Man in a Grey Sweater depicts the portrait of sculptor Jacques Lipchitz. The piece was painted in 1914 in Paris, with oil on canvas. Present location is Museum of Modern Art, New York. This is rectangular piece, the size of 65.1 x 54.9 cm. Looking from a distance, painting has a uniform color spectrum. Artist uses mostly warm earth tone palette: beige, grey, yellow and burnt umber, with black for creating outline of the forms, and occasional multicolored patches for additional accents. There is no visible source of light, however lighter areas of the painting are focused in the center, while more contrast and darker areas tend to be around the middle section. From a distance, brushstrokes look more unified, but when looking up closer, we can notice that artist, while blending colors, uses distinctive strokes. So even blended, colors create some visual texture. There is no noticeable degree of perspective or depth, painting looks rather flat. Painting is done in cubist manner. The whole image is fragmented, with each fragment having a geometrical shape. There are thick dark lines that divide each fragment one from another, so image looks broken in pieces. Young Man in a Grey Sweater can t be defined as a pure analytical cubism. Though Rivera uses typical palette of this kind of cubism, the elements are not translucent and intricate enough, there are some texture and foreign colorful patterns. But it can t be an example of synthetic cubism either, not enough construction, no perspective, image is still flat. Thus, Young Man in a Grey Sweater is located somewhere in the middle of two types of cubism. Undefined, it doesn t loose its beauty. He believes that those who approach a scientific situation with a pre established view in mind are preventing the kind of objectivity and fairness that scientific examination is supposed to produce. Gould explains that the existence of what seems to be evil in nature creates an argument between scientists and creationists. Many phenomena that occur in nature seem to be wrong or disturbing, and go against the idea that Godcreates everything and that everything is benevolent. One such creature is the ichneumon wasp. • 7. Consequences Of Colonialism By European Nations Justin Ames Dr. Alpana Sharma English 3420 16 June 2017 Ou Libere? Are You Free? There have been countless consequences of colonialism by European nations. The power of the church bent to the desire for land and wealth, warped to justify atrocities impacting the globe. Unfortunately, there is one consequence that continues to devastate nations throughout the globe today; violence. To begin to understand the effects we must first understand why and how we got to the point of no return and the driving factor behind unsolicited and at times, bloody invasions across the world. This ongoing turmoil and social injustices lead us to a resounding No. While attempting to find new access to the prosperous goods and gold of Asia, Christopher ... Some of these effects can be seen in the Africa s neighbor Sri Lanka, south of India, as seen through the eyes of a young boy in the novel Funny Boy by Shyam Selvadurai. As the life of Arjie unfolds in his home of Sri Lanka, we are driven down many winding roads. The internal struggle of a young boy trying to come of age in a Tamil family hardened by life after colonization and the racial tension between the Tamil and the Sinhalese. Under British colonial rule, the majority of the Tamil inhabitants of Sri Lanka was brought in as slaves with few working within governmental positions. The Sinhalese people outnumbered and continued to persecute the Tamil population once the British departed. The following years were similarly as brutal as those once seen during forced enslavement. Although they had achieved freedom to some degree, the Sinhalese government achieved new heights of corruption and used many means to continue the oppression and separation of the two races. Many Tamil families, like Arjie s, accepted the fragile state of affairs, but the animosity from years of violence and subjugation was deeply imbedded in family culture and values. The gradual transition from steadfast animosity, to acceptance and questioning of the strains between the two races on a larger scale is scene across three generations presented to us in the text. • 9. Spreading Your Wings Essay The mythological story of Icarus is ...interpreted variously as an allegory of pride, or of man s quest for knowledge, as The Bloomsbury Guide to Art stated in their article ( Icarus ). This idea of the quest of knowledge itself applies to the work of Russell Whiting, a sculptor whose work is featured in the River Gallery SculpturePark of Chattanooga and who sculpted a statue of Icarus as well. In correlation with the interpretation of the story of Icarus being a man s quest for knowledge, Whiting did not just fall in love with the process of carving steel, but also with the potential for self expression, variation, and knowledge regarding steel still left to be attained. Here, Whiting emphasizes the fact that he does not specifically analyze or try to represent his work, though often originating from other previous artist facets, in a certain manner. Rather, he lets his artistic expression flow out of him and leaves the analysis to his viewers. Therefore, being fully open to interpretation, a viewer may infer a variety of things from Whiting s sculpture of Icarus. Approaching the piece from an iconographic perspective, Icarus conveys a sense of freedom and the presence of ignorance and naivety associated with being young. For some, an acknowledgeable aspect of the piece may be the fact that he chose to suspend Icarus off the side of the hill at the far end of the garden. In fact, the anchoring which holds him up is built in such a way as to elude the public to believe he is not attached at all but merely freely leaning out over the crisp water with his outstretched wings. Whiting also paid a remarkable amount of attention to the texture present on the wings and the muscular tone of the body. The tone and idealization of the body, which is anatomically similar to that of a boy, is realistic with hints of idealization of form. Furthermore, an interesting aspect of Icarus being placed distantly over the water is that his face is hidden from viewers. Whiting may have chosen to position him like this so as to incorporate a sense of mystery and add to the psychological value of the piece. Since his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She goes on to say that first impressions are so strongly developed, that they can often make one ignore all information that is already known to them about that individual (Kim, 2014). Kim bases this assertion with researchfrom the empirical study, Familiarity increases the accuracy of categorizing male sexual orientation, by Marco Brambilla, Paolo Riva, and Nicholas O. Yet like many other journalists, Jen Kim neglects to inform her audience about certain aspects of the study that are important when analyzing its results. Essential information about the claim and validities of the empirical study are lost in the journal to journalism cycle (Morling, 2012). These minor alterations of information should drive the audience to question the accuracy of the popular press article. Both the popular press article and the empirical study make a causal claim. A causal claim is a statement that suggests one variable is the cause for the change in the second variable (Morling, 2012). Several apprentice painters, namely Claude Monet, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Alfred Sisley, and FrГ©dГ©ric Bazille learned that they did not share the same views of the AcadГ©mie des Beaux Arts. The Academy believed that mythological and historical scenes for painting was vastly superior to that of still life and landscape scenes. The AcadГ©mie des Beaux Arts would run an art show, the Salon de Paris, which was the only way for an artist during that time to gain prestige, commissions, and of course money. The Salon would only accept paintings which were in their approved style, which was based on the art of the old masters. Since the art of these young painters did not conform to the standards put forth by the AcadГ©mie des Beaux Arts, their art was mostly rejected until Emperor Napoleon III settled to allow the public to judge the submitted art themselves. • 24. The Effect Of Compression Over Bioimpedance Of Healthy... The present study determines the effect of compression over bioimpedance of healthy soft tissue (in vitro and in vivo). Electrical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) is a promising tissue characterization and tumor detection technique that uses tissue impedance or admittance to characterize tissue and identify tissue properties as well as cell structure. Variation in EIS measurements while applying pressure suggests that compression tends to affect soft tissue bioimpedance. Moreover, the displacements in tissue caused by applied compression may provide useful information about the structure and state of the tissue. Thus combining the changes to the electrical properties of tissue resulted by applied compression, with the changes in tissue displacements caused by applied compression, and consequently measuring the effect that electrical and mechanical properties have on each other, can be useful to identify tissue structure. In this study, multifrequency bioimpedance measurements were performed on in vitro and in vivo soft tissue at different pressure levels. Increasing compression on the in vitro tissue results in an increase in both extracellular resistance and membrane capacitance while it causes a reduction in the intracellular resistance. However, as the compression over the in vivo samples increases, the intracellular and extracellular resistance increase and the membrane capacitance decreases. The in vivo measurements on human body are also tested on contra lateral tissue ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. Critical Appreciation Of Robert Frost s Poetry Poetry in the purest form comes from an author that is writing from his or her own life experiences and Robert Frost did just that. In three words I can sum up everything I ve learned about life: it goes on. Frost uttered these words in remark to how he coped with his troubled life. He dealt with heaps of loss throughout his lifetime which led to him expressing his innermost thoughts and feelings through poetry. Robert Frosts poetry was influenced by his depression that came from the many trials he went through during his life, the different places he lived and the many poets he befriended. Frost dealt with depression caused by onerous circumstances in his life and these circumstances profoundly influenced his writing. When Robert was eleven years old he lost his father which forced his family to move away from their home and try to cope with their lost. This was just the first of many loved ones who would pass away during his life. Once he got married his first born son died at the age of four to an illness, his second born committed suicide at the age of thirty eight, his third child developed a mental illness and his last child died in her early twenties during childbirth. He went on to also lose his wife to heart attack in 1938 and he was forced to commit his sister into a mental institution in 1920. After all the loved ones he lost he plunged into a state of depression which translated into his tone of writing in some of his most famous poems. My Butterfly, the first ... Prospero In The Tempest Prospero in William Shakespeare s play The Tempest starts out by manipulating his own daughter, shutting down and controlling Ariel, and by kidnapping an innocent boy to get revenge for being wronged . Throughout the play he is aggressive and verbally explosive to others, only shares half truths or will change stories to fit his needs, and while he doesn t always tell the truth he does have some validation to his stories. Over all, his character morality is rather grey, but through the eyes and encounters with Miranda, Ariel, Alonso, Ferdinand, Antonio, and Caliban, he has a fairly minimal character character growth, leaving Prospero as a controlling, manipulative, and aggressive character. In other words it helps in capturing the image of a the photographed object, formed from the light reflecting back from its surface. Technically it is a photographic material consisting of a celluloid base that is covered with a photographic emulsion that is later used to make the negatives or the transparencies that maybe contained inside a roll, or maybe a cassette or a cartridge. A film, when developed will produce transparent negatives. A negative film is a photographic image that is formed on a narrow transparent strip of sheet whose surface is generally made up of plastic or glass. It is a type of photographic image that shows the bright areas of the subject photographed as dark and the dark areas of the subject as light. A negative film can be found in all formats, and can be black and white or colour. A negative can produce a positive image when light is made to pass through it. A positive image is actually a normal image while a negative image is a total inversion were the light areas of the picture becomes dark and the dark as light. Hence a positive is the final image. In this essay taken from the online volume Endangered Virtues published by the Hoover Institute in 2012, Damon initially concedes that there are situations where lying could be considered acceptable. However, with that being acknowledged, he transitions to his main premise that honesty is losing its importance in society and will lead to its downfall, and he cites examples in politics, law, journalism, and business in contemporary society where dishonesty is expected, and even, condoned. Damon finally directs his remarks pointedly at teachers and current students who accept cheating in schools. To persuade... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 14, 16). Although he speaks of the need for compassion, diplomacy and protection from unadulterated truth, he claims that no one is naive or surprised their politicians are dishonest (par. 2, 3). Damon uses references to historical figures to invoke a spiritual and patriotic response from the audience (par. 6). He refers to Gordon Hinkley s descriptive passage as alarm sounding...a neglected virtue...and problematic status to extract a response (par. 7). Damon presents a strong warning when he states that we are reaching a dysfunctional tipping point when honesty becomes the loser s way of operating, and lying is tolerated (par. 8 9). He also advances that it is most troubling that there is current lack of honesty amongst young people due to the inconsistent implementation of standards within schools (par. 11). He goes on to use words like sympathize, excusable, motivate, encourage, vacillate, half hearted to address the response to cheating in schools (par. 15,16,18, 20). The relationship between the audience and the advertisement is important because time is limited to capture the attention of the potential buyer and display the product that is being advertised. • 37. Women s Experiences During The Holocaust While women s experiences during the Holocaust were not entirely different from those of men, it would be false and misleading to assert that they were identical. There were many instances in which an individual s ordeal was shaped by his or her gender and it is only by understanding what was unique to women and children, and what was unique to men, that we can provide a complete account of what occurred during the Holocaust. One of the reasons it took so long for historians to comprehend the importance of these perspectives is because women were busy rebuilding their lives after the Holocaust. It wasn t until the 1970s when feminist scholarship was sparked, that there became an interest in the stories of women survivors. Eventually, after the women were able to put their lives back together and raise their children, it became important for them to share their memoirs. One source of gender difference during the Holocaust experience women had more anticipatory reactions towards Nazi danger. In Germany, even before the 1938 Kristallnachtpogrom, it was often the women who had to assume new roles to rescue other family members. It was assumed that the Nazis would not harm women, so it was typically women who went to the police, the SS and the municipality to protest haphazard actions against their children and families and to secure the release of husbands and sons who had been detained or arrested. However, both IDS approaches do some form of protocol parsing to give to the analysts the ability to finely control what they want to search for when examining a given protocol. Bro IDS includes a facility to perform signature based detection and a tool called snort2bro that converts Snort signatures to Bro IDS signatures. Same, Snort IDS signatures can be written to search for anomalous traffic on a given network. However, this capability is limited by which stream based interpreter the signature system can understand when finding anomalous traffic. Both Snort and Bro also contain mechanisms to deal with multistage attacks. In eastern countries, boys are revered and cherished while girls are considered curses since being born a girl brought to the father the burden of paying a dowry. When I revealed this to Taylor s wife, [...] she missed the point and shrieked at my foremothers [...]. My mother was a sniper. She wanted to spare me the pain of a dowryless bride (Mukherjee 40). Mukherjee utilizes Jasmine s nonchalant description of her near death experience coupled with her rationalization to show that the brutal treatment of baby girls is a common occurrence in her culture.
