Poseidon Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of Poseidon can be quite challenging due to the multifaceted
nature of the topic. Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea, earthquakes, and horses, is a complex
figure with a rich mythological background. Tackling such a subject requires a deep
understanding of Greek mythology, literature, and cultural influences.
To begin with, researching and gathering information about Poseidon demands delving into
ancient texts, including but not limited to Homer's epics, Hesiod's Theogony, and various other
mythological sources. Navigating through these intricate narratives to extract relevant details
about Poseidon's origin, powers, relationships with other gods, and his role in Greek mythology
can be a daunting task.
Furthermore, the essay should go beyond mere retelling and delve into the symbolism and
cultural significance of Poseidon. Analyzing the ways in which Poseidon was revered in ancient
Greek society and understanding how his myths reflected the Greeks' relationship with the sea
and their environment adds another layer of complexity to the task.
Expressing these findings coherently and persuasively in the essay requires a strong command of
language and the ability to connect various aspects of the topic seamlessly. Striking a balance
between providing comprehensive information and maintaining a captivating narrative is a skill
that poses its own set of challenges.
Moreover, the essay should be structured logically, with a clear introduction, body, and
conclusion. Each section needs to contribute to the overall understanding of Poseidon, ensuring
that the reader grasps the god's significance in the broader context of Greek mythology.
In conclusion, writing an essay on Poseidon is a demanding task that involves navigating
through intricate myths, deciphering cultural nuances, and presenting the information in a
compelling manner. It's a process that requires both meticulous research and effective
communication skills to create a well-rounded and insightful exploration of the topic.

White Collar Crimes In Wells Fargo
According to the book, The term trust refers to the confidence in a relationship that
the other party will act honorably and fulfill legitimate expectations (Friedrichs 9).
Individuals put their faith in a corporation or individual because some people want
to see the best in people. We put our faith in the banks that store our money, the
corporations that employ us, the retail stores where we purchase our items, a
stockbroker in which we invest in and so much more (Friedrichs 9). The book is
trying to tell us that trust is involved in everything that we do every day. In the book
it also states that, trust and it violations are certainly key elements in white collar
crimes (Friedrichs 9) Trust between two individuals can be broken.. According to the
FBI, white collar crimes are not dependent on threat or physical violence (FBI). The
FBI wants us to note that corporations or individuals do not threaten anyone or
physically harm the individual. Wells Fargois a perfect example of trust and white
collar crimes. Wells Fargo... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The relationship between respectability and white collar crime is, a person has to
appear respectable in order for people to get them to trust them (Friedrichs 10). A
case that applies to this Bernard Madoff. In this case, Madoff got people to trust
him into investing in his security firm, but not actually investing the funds (CNN).
He was a respected figure within his community and he got his famous friends to
invest and trust that their money is going increase over time. Madoff ruined a lot
of lives. He appeared to be a respectable person and got individuals to trust him.
When he was finally caught he, he cost investor $65 billion (Hussung). This broke
the trust the investors had in Madoff. Respect can be a deceiving in life because you

What Is The Theme Of Wysken, Wynken And Nod
Wynken, Blynken and Nod is a famous lullaby written by American poet Eugene
Field. It was first published on March 9, 1889. The original version is a Dutch
Lullaby. It is found that this poem is distinctive as it contains a comprehensible story
whereas most of lullabies do not have this feature. Moreover, its poetic devices and
journey motif are remarkable. For instance, diction is used in the poetryas we can see
in the title Wynken, Blynken and Nod to suggest the audience what the poetry is
about. In addition, the story features a journey of three little children that can reflect
sociocultural context in that period. This reflective paper will discuss four elements,
namely the narrative, the interpretation, the function and the performance... Show

To make it clear, the poet uses the young characters to help young readers or
listeners more easily relate the poem with themselves. Moreover, he personifies non
living objects to act like human being which make it more interesting. For example,
the poet uses the word ask to make the moon animate which encourages children to
imagine the old moon as an old person ( The old moon asked the three). Also,
personification helps children understand emotion of the character. For instance, The
old moon laughed and sang a song. Children can understand that the moon finds three
children ridiculous after they answer the moon that they are coming to fish in the
sky. Furthermore, the poet uses simple objects and setting to make children easily
relate to themselves. For example, he uses wooden shoe and a trundle bed which are
common things in their daily lives. Also, the story takes place in the sky on one late
night. which they can imagine and understand the story easily. Additionally, the use
of diction makes the children enjoy the poem more. For example, the use of the
characters names Wynken, Blynken and Nod relate to the action of a sleepy person.

My Most Embarrassing Story Of My Story
This is a story of some of my most embarrassing stories and things that scare me the

way better than smarts but I was wrong. But someone told smarts are the only things
that matter in your whole life. I fearof almost anything really because I worry way

The Usual Suspects
Work of Art Movies are the work of art to me. They have the ability to embody the
reality. Also, they can take you from the reality into a world of fantasy. They
convey to you the feeling of pleasure with amazement, and the creativity to change
the design of writing to an image movable. Movies make the science easier, and
you get the information in a fun way, which you will not get it if you read it in a
book. They are the real art, and the best thing that have created. One the greatest
movies I have ever watched if The Usual Suspects.
The Usual Suspects was directed by Bryan Singer in 1995, and written by
Christopher McQuarrie. It s a crime and mystery movies, and it takes you to be

No one in the world knows who is Keyesr Söze. This makes you think how this
could be good when you don t know who is the devil. Also, make you think if one of
the four who were with Verbal was Keyesr. The trick is that people didn t see him or
know if he was existent or not. They could work for him, but they never knew. The
story of Keyesr is there were a gang raped his wife and kill one of his children in
front of his eyes. Keyesr killed his family, then killed the gang. However, he leaves
one of them alive to tell his boss that Keyesr is coming after you.
The Usual Suspects wasn t just about an ordinary gangsters stories. What makes me
thing this movie is a different from the other gangs movies is because you don t
know who is the hero in the movie. Sometimes you think the hero is the detective, or
keyesr, or maybe Verbal. The shocking end that when you realize Verbal was making
the names from the advertisements board behind the officer Koyan, and he didn t tell
him the truth.
In conclusion, the three main lines, the devil trick, and the shocking end make this
movie one of the greatest piece of art the world has ever had. The dramatic
escalation from the first part to the last part of the movie makes you unable to lift
your eyes from the screen. This is the work of art people should see and

Colin Ross is known widely for the Gun Alley Murder , which is the story or a 12
year old getting raped and left for dead. Before the Gun Alley Murder even
happened, Ross was charged and imprisoned for using threatening words and
carrying a firearm without permission. In April of 1921, Ross and his brothers
bought a wine shop and renamed it The Australian Wine Saloon . In his older years,
Ross was charged with multiple criminal actions throughout the years of owning the
saloon, one of the many chargers was for robbery. Ross told Frank Walsh to rob a
customer and the proceeds would be shared between them, the customer was shot and
could not tell anything to police. Walsh was sentenced to six months hard labor and

New Public Management and Decision Making in UK

Discuss how the tendency of New Public Management has impacted on decision
making in UK public policy.
New Public Management is generally used to describe a management culture that
emphasises upon the citizen or customer as being central, as well as having
accountability for results. It also suggests organizational structures and promotes
decentralized control, many different types of service delivery mechanisms, including
quasi markets with public and private service providers competing for resources. New
Public Management does not suggest that a government should stop performing

The crisis of the welfare state led to questions about the role and institutional
character of the state. In the case of some countries, reforms in public administration
and management have been driven more by external pressures and have taken place
in the context of structural adjustment programmes. Other drivers of New Public
Management type reforms include the ascendancy of neo liberal ideas from the late
1970s, the development of information technology, and the growth and use of
international management consultants as advisors on reforms[4].
Historically, it has been convenient for a decision maker to distinguish between the
public and private sectors. Operational objectives of managers within the private
sector have always been considered as geared towards maintaining a position within
the marketplace, thinking competitively and are more willing to innovate.
Whereas the public sector manager would be more concerned with

Competitive Strategy Of Samsung
Samsung electronics has come a long way from being the world s leader in
semiconductors to becoming a top competitor in the mobile handheld industry.
Samsung s dynamic capability frameworks and resources allowed the company to
gain competitive advantage and achieve growth in many different markets. Some of
these capabilities and resources that led Samsung s success include; the ability to
recognize opportunity through a visionary management team, intense acquisition of
technology and learning, product and process innovation, a fluid manufacturing and
assembly system and the ability to develop partnerships and joint ventures. In the
midst of the global financial crisis, the Korean currency s value, won, had fallen
tremendously. Samsung s management team saw this as an opportunity to start
outsourcing from China, where they manufactured LCDs and Mobiles for a fraction
of the price. By 2011, Samsung had the largest Mobile share in China. They decided
that by moving out they would understand the surrounding markets (Zahou, 2015).

Rehabilitative Rehabilitation
The area of rehabilitation has undergone controversial scrutiny of its effectiveness
(Wilson 2013). An analysis of many rehabilitation projects by Wilson (2013)
concluded that many attempts to rehabilitate youths, such as the Community
Treatment Program (CTP) were ineffective. Wilson (2013) stated that the capacity for
rehabilitation differs greatly between individuals, and only certain amenable
individuals were responsive to rehabilitation attempts. There were often nonamenable
individuals who would actually commit more crimeas a result of rehabilitative
attempts (Wilson, 2013). Wilson (2013) also discusses the findings from the Murray
Cox Study, which looked at the rehabilitative response of serious offender, somewhat
serious offenders, and the non serious offenders. The researchers in this study came
to the conclusion... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These programs include the monitoring of high risk offender by specialized police
force, rehabilitation programs with risk focused treatments, and therapeutic
community treatment. Unfortunately, the most successful forms of rehabilitative
programs are targeted towards children, which would have been applicable when JR
was first arrested for her crimes, will no longer be effective on JR (Reiman Leighton,
2013). The question of rehabilitation is significant, particularly in JR s case because
she has rejoined the community. For the safety of others in society, it is crucial that
we ensure that she has been rehabilitated and continues to undergo rehabilitative
programs. Wilson (2013) would agree that while punishment is necessary, so is
providing past criminals with opportunities to behave socially within society. Our
society tends to focus more heavily on punishment, but it is essential that there is a
balance between punishment and opportunities (Wilson,
The Obligations That Employers Have Under Current
Legislation
Both these voluntary clauses identify in brief form the obligations that employers
have under current legislation. They can often be helpful, particularly when used
in conjunction with a clause outlining the obligations of employees, in establishing
the commitment of both parties to a successful relationship. Wages: When you
hire your first employees, you have some responsibilities to that employee, and to
all future employees, relating to compensation. These responsibilities are codified
under federal laws: You must pay at least the minimum wage (unless the employee

The Internationalization Of International Marketing
International marketing is an area in which exact work by professionals is regularly
more advanced and perceptive than academic contributions (Wind, 1979). For the
expansion of international marketing, firms require both general learning and market
specific learning. Market specific knowledge is picked up principally through
involvement in the business sector, while learning of the operations can be
exchanged starting with one nation then onto the next (Andersen, 1993). For
experiential knowledge of the market, an immediate connection between business
sector information and business sector commitment is proposed and HR can be
considered as a measurement of knowledge (Andersen, 1993). Consequently, the
wider the knowledge about the business... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
MacDougall (1957) stated that, the competitive force of modern nations is upgraded
when they make new products or production processes. An items business position is
known to change after some time as is its profitability and the product life cycle is a
theory to perceive particular phases of the sales history of an item (Lancaster
Wesenlund, 1984).
Lastly, the objective of this essay is to show the theoretical development in
internationalization for firms and the selection of their foreign country markets they
choose to expand their business ventures.
Discussion
Theoretical Development
Firms venture into international markets to widen their market share and many new
firms that venture into international markets prefer a country that is similar to the
firms home nation.
The Uppsala model depiction of foreign expansion could in reality be seen as
concentrating basically on the internationalization ways of mature firms that are
sufficiently experienced to travel to another country, whereas the observational
evidence suggests that such experience may now and again be lacking, and that
numerous new pursuits are actually connected with early internationalization, i.e.
resulting from brand name creation or research development activities, which have
been built up before (Osiyevskyy, Verbeke Zargarzadeh, 2014).

Pros And Cons Of Hernan Cortes
Hernan Cortes conquest of the Aztec Empire gave birth to three hundred years of
Spanish rule in Mexico. Miguel Hidalgo, a Catholic priest, and leader of the
independence movement united: indigenous peasants, poor creoles, nobility in
Spanish America and the Catholic church within the colony to depose Spaniard
royalist power which Cortes had given birth to (Mckay 684). This unlikely alliance
stemmed from the widespread discontent of Spaniard viceroy assumption of control
of the government of New Spain from its capital in MexicoCity after Napoleon s
coup in 1808 (Mckay 684). The signing of Iturbide s Plan of Iguala ended eleven
years of struggle for independence, and the end of Spaniard control. This plan not
only established Mexico as a constitutional monarchy but as well solidified the
cultural transition from the polytheism of the Aztec Empire to the strong monotheism
of the newly emerging Catholic Church. Because the colonial system depended on the
loyalty of the clergy: the priests controlled the people, this allowed the Catholic
Church s influence to grow within the colony (Lynch 109). The separation of the
Catholic Church from the Spanish crown played a vital role in the attainment of
independence. Considering the separation of the Catholic Church from the Spanish
crown and how the Plan de Iguala concluded the Mexican War of independence, I
intend to explore: How the Catholic Church changed the Mexican War of
Independence? Both John Lynch in his book New Worlds
Persuasive Essay On Competitive Sports
Competitive sports aren t great for kids like people will say, competitive sports
lead to harsh circumstances like high cost, pressure and cutting, are all part of the
reasons competitive sports are not as beneficial as recreational teams. Recreational
teams provide some of the same health benefits competitive sports do they have just
recreational teams are not competitive and don t pose as much of the injuries.
Competitive sports nowadays are just simply too hard on kids. There are better
options if kids wantto get together and play sports there are always recreational
teams or kids can just go to a designated area to play the sports.
One thing on why competitive sports are too hard on kids is the cost, some kids
learn how much sports cost and with competitive sports kids get cut that money is
down the drain. Competitive sports fail to realize on how many fees parents need to
pay, some of the fees that are needed for the sports is equipment, registration fees,
transportation. And in 2017 about 14.5 percent of americans lived below the
poverty line according to Mark Gongloff huffington post(2017) that many people
would struggle to pay for sports. Why should people need to pay a fair amount of
money for pressure. For every dollar spent there is pressure. For my school district
there was a lacrosse team there was mountains of pressure to happen. Before the
practice there was some expenses to pay first was to get on the teams then
transportation also some other fees like
The Pledge Of Allegiance Pros And Cons
Part one:
Seventy three years ago Congress got the United States out of what had turned into
an unexpectedly embarrassing situation. It concerned the Pledge of Allegiance
specifically, something called the Bellamy Salute Most people today have likely
never heard of it, but the Bellamy Salute was once a constant part of the country s
life. Until 1892, there was no such thing as a Pledge of Allegiance(Greene) The
Pledge of Allegiance of the United States is an expression of allegiance to the Flag of
the United States and the republic of theUnited States of America, originally
composed by Francis Bellamy in 1892 and formally adopted by Congress as the
pledge in 1942.[1] The official name of The Pledge of Allegiance was adopted in
1945. The last change in language came on Flag Day 1954 when the words under
God were added. But since that day, lots of controversies happened regarding
adding the word Under God . This event made some Americans upset. Pledging our
allegiance to a flag that flies over a nation under God has become a point of
contention for some. Gwen Wilde, a student at Tufts University, explains in her
essay, Why the Pledge of Allegiance Should Be Revised that the addition of the
words under God is inappropriate, and they are needlessly divisive an odd addition

Observing problems in concrete form aids in my understanding and therefore the
solution. Conversely, the drawing of the diagram in a two dimensional form helped
to deliver the correct answer. I approached this question with the required knowledge
and confidence to solve it immediately.
Question 5, NAPLAN (Year 9 non calculator), ACARA (2012)
Approach: The approach used to solve this scale was ratio set up in the form of a
fraction.
Workings: To calculate the ratio, the actual length measurement is divided by the
drawing length measurement. The measurements need to be represented in fraction
form. The drawing length is 4cm and the actual length is 8mm.
Actual length over the drawing length: 8mm/4cm.
Simplify this fraction by determining the largest common denominator of both
numbers. The largest common denominator of both numbers is 4.
8mm/4cm : 2mm/1cm . Drawing length becomes 1cm and actual length becomes
2mm. The scale is 1cm represents 2mm.
Another way to solve this question would be by using data measurement with the
mathematical concept of division, using part/whole method. Both shapes were square
and would be able to be divided equally. Using the part/whole method and establishing
the number four was one of the common denominators for both lengths.
DL = 4cm. 4cm Г· 4 = 1cm : AL = 8mm. 8mm Г· 4 = 2mm
Scale of drawing = 1cm represents 2mm

A Research Study On Learning Experience
Deciding on the research question was one of the hardest parts about the research
process. 2 or 3 weeks were spent filling out lotus diagrams, doing small research, and
discussing possible topics with Research Project teachers. The question was decided
upon after a discussion with a teacher about their personal experiences of working
with multilingual students and how that impacted on their learning experience.
According to her, multilingual students seemed to perform better in their education
and had higher mathematical ability. I wanted to investigate this claim further; I was
also completing Russian Stage 2 at that moment, and found that the topic was relevant
to my personal experiences.
The question was narrowed down into a more specific topic over the next few weeks
by beginning the research and seeing what the current existing research shows about
the question. This was effective as it allowed me to make the question sensible and
realistic to complete in the time allocated, and allowed me to develop a deeper
understanding of the topic as the weeks went along. At the beginning of the project, I
decided to use 3 main research methods: experiment, interview and literature analysis.
Although interview was never completed, the other methods proved to be highly
effective in completing the outcome.
It was decided that an experiment would be done to find data for the Research
Project, in order to explore different research methods and to add a primary source.

African Americans In The Civil Rights Movement
Proceeding slavery, racial discrimination was not yet entirely bygone. African
Americans had been forced into servitude for centuries, and in the process had not
only their rights, but also their culture stripped of them. With every year that passed
as a slave, a piece of their soul disappeared as well. As a result, rebuilding their
culture and regaining their legal rights as American citizens were necessities for the
new generation of free blacks. With this came the Civil Rights Movement. Art was
utilized to portray the feelings of the discriminated against African Americans in a
subtle, soulful manner. Zinn references a few different types of these arts by stating,
perhaps the blues, however pathetic, concealed anger; and the jazz, however
The Code Of Hammurabi And Twelve Tables
The Code of Hammurabi and Twelve Tables The Code of Hammurabi from the
ancient Babylonian civilization, and the Twelve Tables from Ancient Rome
society were both sets of laws from by which their societies had to abide. The
Ancient Babylonian society abided by the Code of Hammurabi while the Ancient
Romans abided by The Twelve Tables. Although they both served as promising
laws to live by, they also served as tools that defined and distinguished each citizen
s position in the social order. Depending on where they stood in the social order,
any criminal punishment would be tailored to that specific class. In Mesopotamian
history, the most consummate code of law was the Code of Hammurabi,
engendered by the King Hammurabi. The Twelve Tables was created by the Roman
elites in order to create justice and fairness between the plebian and patricians. Both
these sets of laws, although belonging to different societies, sought to create the
illusion of fairness and equality outwardly towards the people, and inwardly, reward
the rich and elite of their respective social classwith power. Although these sets of
laws belonged to different societies, they both casted an illusion of fairness and
equality. However, in actuality these regulations only benefited the rich and elite.
The Code of Hammurabi and the Twelve Tables tend to both be very specific on the
punishment that would be given to a citizen depending on their social standing. The
Code and Tables regulates
The Three Factors Of Juvenile Delinquency
In the United States, juvenile delinquency is becoming a major problem in the
communities across the country. Because of the actions that these juveniles engage
in on a regular basis, taxpayers across the country are having to shell out hundreds
upon thousands of dollars to rehabilitate these children in order to help them make
better choices. This leads citizens to wonder what factors actually cause juveniles to
live a life of crimerather than success. In short, there are three main factors that often
cause childrento live a life of crime. These three factors are social influences,
psychological characteristics, and academic potential.
The first factor that often leads to juvenile delinquency involves the child s social
influences within their communities. The community of individuals that a child is
normally around on a normal basis includes family, friends, and neighbors.
Depending on the overall quality of the relationship that the child has with each
member of their community, they maybe more or less inclined to commit crimes.
According to the National Criminal Justice Reference Service, juveniles who
experience abuse or neglect from any member of their community may be more
inclined to become deviant (n.d.). For example, if a father abuses his child, the
odds of the child s willing to resort to deviance becomes significantly higher than a
father who treats his son like a normal parent. Another way a child can be socially
exposed to deviance is through example. If a parent is always in a run with law
enforcement on a constant basis, that child may grow up to be just like them
simply because that is how they were raised. The third and final social influence
comes outside of the family circle where the actions that a child s friends partake
in can also determine whether or not the child will pursue acts of deviance. The
influence of a friend s actions can either be positive or negative depending on the
values of the friend. For instance, say a child named Johnny hangs around a group of
troublemakers who always wreck havoc, smoke joints, and talk trash about everyone.
This kind of relationship between Johnny and his friends can lead Johnny to
becoming just like the troublemakers because of peer pressure.

this world can probably relate to it.Lying seems so universal, but no one can really
agree if it s warranted or not. After reviewing a few opinionated and factual articles
on lying, the opinionated conclusion is lying is almost always never justified unless
it is to protect someone from getting hurt. In A Philosopher On Lying , by Mary
Alder, a philosopher named, Immanuel Kant, has his perspective on lying as, Don t
tell someone a lie, Kant said, because then you are not treating that person with
respect, as an individual. .This statement at first glance may seem valid, but let s
take a closer look.If your mom had breast cancer and she told you about it but, said
not to mention it to your dad for fear that he might get a heart attack, what would
you do? Especially what shall you do if he asks you if you know anything about
your mom acting weird lately? The majority of you reading this most likely have
switched sides against Immanuel Kant, but, for those who think, Well, surely he
must have had made an exception about protecting someone s life, you are wrong.
Immanuel Kant believes, ...it s not about the size of the lie any lie, even one to save
someone s life, is dangerous. so if he was in that situation, he wouldn t care if it
risked his father s life. Therefore, that is the flaw in Immanuel Kant s argument,
Relationships In Life Of Pi And The Lives Of Animals
Explore the relationship between humans and animals in Life of Pi and The Lives of
Animals
Introduction
According to Martin Heidegger (2000), anthropocentrism functions as a dogmatic
paradigm in which all aspects of the natural world are related to human beings. In this
view, humanity is at the centre of all subsequent theoretical assumptions, creating a
metanarrative that supports an entire system of thought. This way of understanding
the world, however, is incompatible with the postmodern approach and its tendency to
deconstruct apparent certainties, hierarchical divisions, and man s superiority and
intellect. Consequently, embedded in ecocriticism, a postmodern understanding of
the relationship between humans and animals is one of the most crucial challenges
to traditional Western conceptions of man as a sovereign being. This essay is going
to discuss this shift from a philosophy of a shared human essence to a more
fragmented theoretical model, arguing that human and ... Show more content on

Opposing to professor O Hearne s philosophical belief that a process of creating
abstract models separates animals from intelligent humans (The Lives of Animals:
62), and criticising experiments in which animals fail to exemplify human like
behaviour, Costello compares this dogmatism of reason to what Agamben (2004)
terms the anthropological machine. It is only within this ideological system of
oppression that man is godlike, animals thinglike (The Lives of Animals: 23), and
therefore he can do anything [to animals] and get away with it (The Lives of
Animals: 35). This assumption, she claims, is only legitimate within the essentialist
paradigm; outside of it, reason is only one tendency in human thought that propagates
animal degradation and suffering (The Lives of Animals:
Girl Interrupted vs. The Yellow Wallpaper
The main character in Susanna Kaysen s, Girl, Interrupted and Charlotte Perkins
Gilman s, The Yellow Wallpaper are similar in the fact that they both were suppressed
by male dominants. Be it therapist or physicians who either aided in their mental
deformities or created them. They are similar in the sense that they are both restricted
to confinement and must endure life under the watchful eye of overseers. However
similar their situations may be, their responses are different.
In the stories, there were both positive and negative aspects and characteristics that
the two protagonists possessed. Both women were thought insane and although they

She does rebel at times but for the majority of the book, she remains compliant.
Gilman on the other hand doesn t always respond positively to her physicians.
Gilman is passive in this sense but aggressive as well because she acts on her own
beliefs. Throughout, The YellowWallpaper, Gilman is forbidden to invoke her
passion; writing. Her brother and husband, John are both highly respected doctors
that believe Congenial work, with excitement and change, would only worsen her
case. But in spite of them, she writes anyway making sure not to be seen. Gilman s
character is a little more manic than Kaysen because she is locked up in her own
house alone for the majority of her time. She is unable to leave without permission
or write ever. In this aspect, I feel that being passive aggressive is a positive
characteristic because it allows Gilman to fool her husband into believing she is
improving. When in actuality, she s not and she may be going crazy being cooped
up in the house all the time. However it is a negative because unlike Kaysen, she acts
on her impulses without thinking them through. She doesn t take into consideration
what the consequences of her actions may be. For instance, when she starts to notice
the figures behind the wallpaper taking form, she starts to peel off the wallpaper.
Although she says she is trying to rescue the girl stuck behind the dreaded colored
paper, this act does not show her husband she is not crazy.

RECTAL EXAM: Prostate smooth and firm. No stool is present for hemoccult test.
DIAGNOSIS: Hemoptysis with history of tuberculosis.
PLAN: I have reviewed the chest x rays available here and agree with the finding
of bleb formation in the right and left upper lobes. Despite the fact that the patient
has had a high INR, because of his history of tuberculosis and hemoptysis I believe
obtaining sputum for TB is very, very important. We should rule out any other
endobronchial lesions as the cause for his bleeding. I have discussed this matter with
the patient and his wife. I have told them that there is the possibility of observing the
condition by x rays and repeated tests of his sputum. They understand that this is an
option; however, they decided that because of concern regarding his repeated
hemoptysis, they would consent to bronchoscopy. We will arrange for the patient to
have a bronchoscopy done. He is off Coumadin.

Rousseau Confessions
Confessions (1789), an autobiography by Jean Jacques Rousseau (1712 1778) is
seen as a reaction against Augustine s Confessions and stands as a rebuttal to the
latter s understanding of human nature. Rousseau is considered to have invented
modern autobiography in his compositions of Confessions, Rousseau, Judge of Jean
Jacques (1776) and The Reveries of a Solitary Walker (1778). The idea of confession
and in naming the book as such, the narrative presented in Confessionscan be seen as
an attempt on behalf of Rousseau to persuade the reader by offering his life as an
example of his philosophy. In the religious act of confession, it is assumed that the

I have neither omitted anything bad, nor interpolated anything good. (p.3) By the act
of writing an autobiography, the author, narrator and protagonist has to be identical,
using the proper name of the author as reference (Lejeune, 1973, p. 298) and this
trinity of an identity must refuse to give others the same status that they claim for
themselves. The concept of autobiography requires inequality of treatment between
others and Rousseau and this brings in the possibility of untruthfulness; as he writes

Liberation Theology Research Paper
Liberation theology, a term first used in 1973 by Gustavo Gutierrez, a Peruvian
Roman Catholic priest, is a school of thought among Latin American Catholics
according to which the Gospel of Christ demands that the church concentrate its
efforts on liberating the people of the world from poverty and oppression. The main
belief is that the church should be a movement for those who were denied their rights
because they were poor (Sharon 12/3). The strength of liberation theologyis in its
compassion for the poor and its conviction that the Christian should not remain
passive and indifferent to their plight. Man s inhumanity to man is sin and deserves
the judgment of God and Christian resistance. Liberation theology is a plea for
costly discipleship and a reminder that follow Jesus has practical social and political
consequences. Liberation theology believes that the poor in favelas should take the
example of Jesus and that the Church should act to bring about social change through
base communities. Favelas are slums/ghettos (Sharon 12/3). Base communities are
the grass roots organizations where people live, work, and form bible study groups

Liberation theology rightly condemns the idea that uses God for its own ends but
falsely denies God s definitive self disclosure in biblical revelation. To argue that
our conception of God is determined by the historical situation is to separate from
the religion making it difficult to distinguish between theology and ideology.
Liberation theology forces Christians to take seriously the social and political
impact of Jesus life and death but does not recognize Jesus uniqueness in the reality
of his deity. It claims he is different from us by degree, and that his cross is the
climax of his identification with suffering mankind instead of a sacrifice offered on
our behalf to turn away the wrath of God and triumph over our sins, death, and the

Effective Supervision Requires Establishing Different...
Effective supervision requires establishing different levels of supervision in order
to know which offenders need closer supervision from those who require less
supervision (Alarid Del Carmen, 2012). Generally, the supervision of offenders is
categorized into three or four levels: maximum, medium and minimum or
maximum, high, standard, and administrative (Alarid Del Carmen, 2012). The
administrative level is for probationers or parolees who have committed minor
offenses, satisfied financial responsibilities, and been in compliance for two years
(Alarid Del Carmen, 2012). Probationers and parolees on the administrative level
do not require a personal visit or personal contact with the officer (Alarid Del
Carmen, 2012). Individuals on the administrative level are required to call in and
leave a voicemail or mail in a residence verification and employment document
(Alarid Del Carmen, 2012).
A caseload is the number of individuals that one probation or parole officer is
responsible for and can supervise effectively (Alarid Del Carmen, 2012). The
number of people that one officer can supervise varies from state to state (Alarid
Del Carmen, 2012). The more intensive the supervision is the lower the officer s
caseload (Alarid Del Carmen, 2012). In Georgia, probation and parole caseloads are
classified under two risk levels of supervision standard and high (Department of
Community Supervision, n.d.). Individuals who have a sex crime conviction will be

BethovenВґs Monnlight Sonata History
Beethoven s first movement from his infamous Moonlight Sonata is most illustrious
for its bittersweet melancholic sound. It is in the key of C# minor as it has four
sharps in its key signature and sounds like it is in the minor tonality. Beethoven gives
an indication to how the performer should interpret their role with the phrase adagio
sostenuto which means to play at a slow tempo(66 beats per minute) and to effectively
utilize the sustained pedal. Sempre e senza sordino means to the whole piece ought to
be played with the utmost delicacy and without damper. From the interpretations of
his instructions, it can be concluded that Beethoven wanted this movement to be
interpreted with sensitivity and colour.
The bass line is a prominent feature in texturizing the movement. The most distinctive
characteristics in the bass line are its Neapolitan chords which are strategically placed
amidst chords of double octaves. This prevents the movement sounding too much like
a lullaby and adds more colour and tension. The movement starts out pianissimo and
diverges between pianissimo and piano to maintain a soothing sound. Its luxurious
ostinato triplet melody creates a lullaby like feeling within the piece. However, the
melancholic tone is instilled within the 3rd bar where the d natural within the triplet
melody stands out. This adheres to the purpose of advancing the momentum of the
piece as the lowered d provides variation in the triplet melody so it is not as
repetitive. To

Hero and Beowulf
The hero is an age old concept that describes someone that will defend their honor
to the end. In Beowulf, the author portrays the warrior Beowulf and his three
battles in such a way as to clearly define what it means to be a hero. Fred Robinson
and J. R. R. Tolkien addressed heroism in Beowulf regarding the warrior s traits, as
well as his battles and burial. The author of Beowulfdefines the herothrough Beowulf
s three battles with Grendel, Grendel s mother, and the dragon. In this poem, each
monster possesses a specific quality undesired by heroes. Beowulf battles anger

This is shown in the third and final battle as Beowulf sacrifices his life for the

a piece of the treasure, the dragon awoke and began to belch out flames / and burn

in this third battle that the poet describes why the hero cannot demonstrate these
treacherous traits. Beowulf seeks vengeance for his Geat people: My own kith

The State Of California s Financial Report
In the second half of this paper, I will analyze is the State of California s Financial
Report. The government is not a nonprofit, although they are quite similar; therefore,
the government s financial report will be evaluated using different methods and from
different perspectives. To get a broad overview of this government, first, the financial
position and economic condition of the State of Californiawill be evaluated. Then,
things with more depth, such as budget planning, funds, and infrastructure, will be
discussed.
As taxpayers, people are required to pay imposed taxes and derived taxes. Since
payments are not voluntary as opposed to nonprofits, people want to know where the
government currently stands, whether it has sufficient revenues for efficiently
running current public services, and how much it has improved compared to last
year. Examining government wide financial statements will give readers a basic
understanding of the government s condition. The government wide financial
statements consist two parts: the statement of net position and the statement of
activities. Based on the statement of net position, in 2015, the State of California
has a deficit of about $41.0 billion. Compared to the past 10 fiscal years, the fiscal
year of 2015 has the least amount of total governmental activity net position and total
primary government net position. In addition, the unrestricted deficit as a percentage
of total assets is 75.64%, which is close to 100%. This number

He complicates this with, quot;Moral superiority quot; and his visions of old styles
blended with his attitude for recognition. Pope has indulged the reader in consistent
religious order, and awkward justice for mankind. However, when viewing Keats
poem stanza by stanza, much is revealed. Keats tale starts as a direct eagerness for
future considerations. His image of love and old age creates a stifled knot in the
stomach of the reader. Enthusiastic resistance is overcome by Keats smooth flow, and
harmonizing beauty in heaven. Angels and death are brought together like osmosis.
His ability to start off in a cold bitter atmosphere of regret, and then sway the reader s
emotion to a peaceful loving atmosphere is in itself astonishing. Desire brings Keats
to the heightened point of emotional gratification within, quot; The Eve of St. Agnes.
quot; St.
Agnes is such a peaceful age old memory for Keats. He presents strength when pain
is being inflicted. His early images of purgatory, show Keats in a bind of human
emotion and regret for past sins. However, Pope does this as well throughout,
quot; The Rape of Lock. quot; Although, Pope is less likely to find a happy medium
in his tale of tolerance. He does manage to relinquish all his desires for the sake of
his own inner strength. This strength is portrayed more intensely through his soul.

Speech On Animal Exploitation
Exploitation is explained as the act of using resources or treating people unfairly in
order to benefit from their effort or labour. Exploitation has been a big issue
discussed among
all countries in the world because it can be occured everywhere and fiercely trap
everybody

known as
human trafficking and animal exploitation which has been the cause of population

The second reason is that animal exploitation is considered immoral. Why is it
considered immoral? They are just animals! It is right, they are just animals.
However, the
exploitation is against the constitution number 15 year 1990 about the conservation of

Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea, earthquakes, and horses, is a complex figure with a rich mythological background. Tackling such a subject requires a deep understanding of Greek mythology, literature, and cultural influences. White Collar Crimes In Wells Fargo According to the book, The term trust refers to the confidence in a relationship that the other party will act honorably and fulfill legitimate expectations (Friedrichs 9). Individuals put their faith in a corporation or individual because some people want to see the best in people. We put our faith in the banks that store our money, the corporations that employ us, the retail stores where we purchase our items, a stockbroker in which we invest in and so much more (Friedrichs 9). The book is trying to tell us that trust is involved in everything that we do every day. In the book it also states that, trust and it violations are certainly key elements in white collar crimes (Friedrichs 9) Trust between two individuals can be broken.. The relationship between respectability and white collar crime is, a person has to appear respectable in order for people to get them to trust them (Friedrichs 10). A case that applies to this Bernard Madoff. In this case, Madoff got people to trust him into investing in his security firm, but not actually investing the funds (CNN). He was a respected figure within his community and he got his famous friends to invest and trust that their money is going increase over time. Madoff ruined a lot of lives. He appeared to be a respectable person and got individuals to trust him. When he was finally caught he, he cost investor $65 billion (Hussung). This broke the trust the investors had in Madoff. • 3. What Is The Theme Of Wysken, Wynken And Nod Wynken, Blynken and Nod is a famous lullaby written by American poet Eugene Field. It was first published on March 9, 1889. The original version is a Dutch Lullaby. It is found that this poem is distinctive as it contains a comprehensible story whereas most of lullabies do not have this feature. Moreover, its poetic devices and journey motif are remarkable. For instance, diction is used in the poetryas we can see in the title Wynken, Blynken and Nod to suggest the audience what the poetry is about. In addition, the story features a journey of three little children that can reflect sociocultural context in that period. To make it clear, the poet uses the young characters to help young readers or listeners more easily relate the poem with themselves. Moreover, he personifies non living objects to act like human being which make it more interesting. For example, the poet uses the word ask to make the moon animate which encourages children to imagine the old moon as an old person ( The old moon asked the three). Also, personification helps children understand emotion of the character. For instance, The old moon laughed and sang a song. Children can understand that the moon finds three children ridiculous after they answer the moon that they are coming to fish in the sky. Furthermore, the poet uses simple objects and setting to make children easily relate to themselves. For example, he uses wooden shoe and a trundle bed which are common things in their daily lives. Also, the story takes place in the sky on one late night. which they can imagine and understand the story easily. Additionally, the use of diction makes the children enjoy the poem more. For example, the use of the characters names Wynken, Blynken and Nod relate to the action of a sleepy person. Children may find this interesting and

In the case of some countries, reforms in public administration and management have been driven more by external pressures and have taken place in the context of structural adjustment programmes. Other drivers of New Public Management type reforms include the ascendancy of neo liberal ideas from the late 1970s, the development of information technology, and the growth and use of international management consultants as advisors on reforms[4]. Samsung s dynamic capability frameworks and resources allowed the company to gain competitive advantage and achieve growth in many different markets. Some of these capabilities and resources that led Samsung s success include; the ability to recognize opportunity through a visionary management team, intense acquisition of technology and learning, product and process innovation, a fluid manufacturing and assembly system and the ability to develop partnerships and joint ventures. In the midst of the global financial crisis, the Korean currency s value, won, had fallen tremendously. Samsung s management team saw this as an opportunity to start outsourcing from China, where they manufactured LCDs and Mobiles for a fraction of the price. By 2011, Samsung had the largest Mobile share in China. They decided that by moving out they would understand the surrounding markets (Zahou, 2015). An analysis of many rehabilitation projects by Wilson (2013) concluded that many attempts to rehabilitate youths, such as the Community Treatment Program (CTP) were ineffective. Wilson (2013) stated that the capacity for rehabilitation differs greatly between individuals, and only certain amenable individuals were responsive to rehabilitation attempts. There were often nonamenable individuals who would actually commit more crimeas a result of rehabilitative attempts (Wilson, 2013). The question of rehabilitation is significant, particularly in JR s case because she has rejoined the community. For the safety of others in society, it is crucial that we ensure that she has been rehabilitated and continues to undergo rehabilitative programs. Our society tends to focus more heavily on punishment, but it is essential that there is a balance between punishment and opportunities (Wilson,

The Internationalization Of International Marketing International marketing is an area in which exact work by professionals is regularly more advanced and perceptive than academic contributions (Wind, 1979). For the expansion of international marketing, firms require both general learning and market specific learning. Market specific knowledge is picked up principally through involvement in the business sector, while learning of the operations can be exchanged starting with one nation then onto the next (Andersen, 1993). For experiential knowledge of the market, an immediate connection between business sector information and business sector commitment is proposed and HR can be considered as a measurement of knowledge (Andersen, 1993). Discussion Theoretical Development Firms venture into international markets to widen their market share and many new firms that venture into international markets prefer a country that is similar to the firms home nation. The Uppsala model depiction of foreign expansion could in reality be seen as concentrating basically on the internationalization ways of mature firms that are sufficiently experienced to travel to another country, whereas the observational evidence suggests that such experience may now and again be lacking, and that numerous new pursuits are actually connected with early internationalization, i.e. resulting from brand name creation or research development activities, which have been built up before (Osiyevskyy, Verbeke Zargarzadeh, 2014). Miguel Hidalgo, a Catholic priest, and leader of the independence movement united: indigenous peasants, poor creoles, nobility in Spanish America and the Catholic church within the colony to depose Spaniard royalist power which Cortes had given birth to (Mckay 684). This unlikely alliance stemmed from the widespread discontent of Spaniard viceroy assumption of control of the government of New Spain from its capital in MexicoCity after Napoleon s coup in 1808 (Mckay 684). The signing of Iturbide s Plan of Iguala ended eleven years of struggle for independence, and the end of Spaniard control. This plan not only established Mexico as a constitutional monarchy but as well solidified the cultural transition from the polytheism of the Aztec Empire to the strong monotheism of the newly emerging Catholic Church. Because the colonial system depended on the loyalty of the clergy: the priests controlled the people, this allowed the Catholic Church s influence to grow within the colony (Lynch 109). The separation of the Catholic Church from the Spanish crown played a vital role in the attainment of independence. Competitive sports nowadays are just simply too hard on kids. There are better options if kids wantto get together and play sports there are always recreational teams or kids can just go to a designated area to play the sports. One thing on why competitive sports are too hard on kids is the cost, some kids learn how much sports cost and with competitive sports kids get cut that money is down the drain. The question was decided upon after a discussion with a teacher about their personal experiences of working with multilingual students and how that impacted on their learning experience. According to her, multilingual students seemed to perform better in their education and had higher mathematical ability. I wanted to investigate this claim further; I was also completing Russian Stage 2 at that moment, and found that the topic was relevant to my personal experiences. The question was narrowed down into a more specific topic over the next few weeks by beginning the research and seeing what the current existing research shows about the question. The Ancient Babylonian society abided by the Code of Hammurabi while the Ancient Romans abided by The Twelve Tables. Although they both served as promising laws to live by, they also served as tools that defined and distinguished each citizen s position in the social order. Depending on where they stood in the social order, any criminal punishment would be tailored to that specific class. In Mesopotamian history, the most consummate code of law was the Code of Hammurabi, engendered by the King Hammurabi. The Twelve Tables was created by the Roman elites in order to create justice and fairness between the plebian and patricians. Both these sets of laws, although belonging to different societies, sought to create the illusion of fairness and equality outwardly towards the people, and inwardly, reward the rich and elite of their respective social classwith power. Although these sets of laws belonged to different societies, they both casted an illusion of fairness and equality. However, in actuality these regulations only benefited the rich and elite. The Code of Hammurabi and the Twelve Tables tend to both be very specific on the punishment that would be given to a citizen depending on their social standing. The Code and Tables regulates
  • 21. The Three Factors Of Juvenile Delinquency In the United States, juvenile delinquency is becoming a major problem in the communities across the country. Because of the actions that these juveniles engage in on a regular basis, taxpayers across the country are having to shell out hundreds upon thousands of dollars to rehabilitate these children in order to help them make better choices. This leads citizens to wonder what factors actually cause juveniles to live a life of crimerather than success. In short, there are three main factors that often cause childrento live a life of crime. These three factors are social influences, psychological characteristics, and academic potential. The first factor that often leads to juvenile delinquency involves the child s social influences within their communities. The community of individuals that a child is normally around on a normal basis includes family, friends, and neighbors. Depending on the overall quality of the relationship that the child has with each member of their community, they maybe more or less inclined to commit crimes. According to the National Criminal Justice Reference Service, juveniles who experience abuse or neglect from any member of their community may be more inclined to become deviant (n.d.). For example, if a father abuses his child, the odds of the child s willing to resort to deviance becomes significantly higher than a father who treats his son like a normal parent. Another way a child can be socially exposed to deviance is through example. If a parent is always in a run with law enforcement on a constant basis, that child may grow up to be just like them simply because that is how they were raised. The third and final social influence comes outside of the family circle where the actions that a child s friends partake in can also determine whether or not the child will pursue acts of deviance. The influence of a friend s actions can either be positive or negative depending on the values of the friend. For instance, say a child named Johnny hangs around a group of troublemakers who always wreck havoc, smoke joints, and talk trash about everyone. This kind of relationship between Johnny and his friends can lead Johnny to becoming just like the troublemakers because of peer pressure.

  • 24. Relationships In Life Of Pi And The Lives Of Animals Explore the relationship between humans and animals in Life of Pi and The Lives of Animals Introduction According to Martin Heidegger (2000), anthropocentrism functions as a dogmatic paradigm in which all aspects of the natural world are related to human beings. In this view, humanity is at the centre of all subsequent theoretical assumptions, creating a metanarrative that supports an entire system of thought. This way of understanding the world, however, is incompatible with the postmodern approach and its tendency to deconstruct apparent certainties, hierarchical divisions, and man s superiority and intellect. Consequently, embedded in ecocriticism, a postmodern understanding of the relationship between humans and animals is one of the most crucial challenges to traditional Western conceptions of man as a sovereign being. The main belief is that the church should be a movement for those who were denied their rights because they were poor (Sharon 12/3). Connie Miller, a worker at Kohl s, told reporters about her insane working schedule over Black Friday. She didn t get home til 1am on Thanksgiving morning. • 33. Effective Supervision Requires Establishing Different... Effective supervision requires establishing different levels of supervision in order to know which offenders need closer supervision from those who require less supervision (Alarid Del Carmen, 2012). Generally, the supervision of offenders is categorized into three or four levels: maximum, medium and minimum or maximum, high, standard, and administrative (Alarid Del Carmen, 2012). The administrative level is for probationers or parolees who have committed minor offenses, satisfied financial responsibilities, and been in compliance for two years (Alarid Del Carmen, 2012). Probationers and parolees on the administrative level do not require a personal visit or personal contact with the officer (Alarid Del Carmen, 2012). Individuals on the administrative level are required to call in and leave a voicemail or mail in a residence verification and employment document (Alarid Del Carmen, 2012). A caseload is the number of individuals that one probation or parole officer is responsible for and can supervise effectively (Alarid Del Carmen, 2012). The number of people that one officer can supervise varies from state to state (Alarid Del Carmen, 2012). The more intensive the supervision is the lower the officer s caseload (Alarid Del Carmen, 2012). In Georgia, probation and parole caseloads are classified under two risk levels of supervision standard and high (Department of Community Supervision, n.d.). • 35. BethovenВґs Monnlight Sonata History Beethoven s first movement from his infamous Moonlight Sonata is most illustrious for its bittersweet melancholic sound. It is in the key of C# minor as it has four sharps in its key signature and sounds like it is in the minor tonality. Beethoven gives an indication to how the performer should interpret their role with the phrase adagio sostenuto which means to play at a slow tempo(66 beats per minute) and to effectively utilize the sustained pedal. Sempre e senza sordino means to the whole piece ought to be played with the utmost delicacy and without damper. From the interpretations of his instructions, it can be concluded that Beethoven wanted this movement to be interpreted with sensitivity and colour. The bass line is a prominent feature in texturizing the movement. The most distinctive characteristics in the bass line are its Neapolitan chords which are strategically placed amidst chords of double octaves. This prevents the movement sounding too much like a lullaby and adds more colour and tension. The movement starts out pianissimo and diverges between pianissimo and piano to maintain a soothing sound. Its luxurious ostinato triplet melody creates a lullaby like feeling within the piece. However, the melancholic tone is instilled within the 3rd bar where the d natural within the triplet melody stands out. This adheres to the purpose of advancing the momentum of the piece as the lowered d provides variation in the triplet melody so it is not as repetitive. To

Pope has indulged the reader in consistent religious order, and awkward justice for mankind. However, when viewing Keats poem stanza by stanza, much is revealed. Keats tale starts as a direct eagerness for future considerations. His image of love and old age creates a stifled knot in the stomach of the reader. Enthusiastic resistance is overcome by Keats smooth flow, and harmonizing beauty in heaven. Angels and death are brought together like osmosis. His ability to start off in a cold bitter atmosphere of regret, and then sway the reader s emotion to a peaceful loving atmosphere is in itself astonishing. Desire brings Keats to the heightened point of emotional gratification within, quot; The Eve of St. Agnes. quot; St. Agnes is such a peaceful age old memory for Keats. He presents strength when pain is being inflicted. His early images of purgatory, show Keats in a bind of human emotion and regret for past sins. However, Pope does this as well throughout, quot; The Rape of Lock. quot; Although, Pope is less likely to find a happy medium in his tale of tolerance. He does manage to relinquish all his desires for the sake of his own inner strength. This strength is portrayed more intensely through his soul. Memories are key to the
