A pond ecosystem includes all living organisms (biotic factors) like phytoplankton, zooplankton, larger invertebrates, fish, frogs, and turtles interacting with each other and their non-living (abiotic) environment of humus, oxygen, light, heat and minerals. Phytoplankton are primary producers at the bottom of the food chain, while zooplankton and larger invertebrates act as primary and secondary consumers, and vertebrates like fish and frogs are tertiary consumers. Together these biotic and abiotic components make up the balanced aquatic pond ecosystem.
This presentation is a depiction of ecological biodiversity in India. It includes basic understanding the meaning of biodiversity, discussing about the 4 hotspots in India, also discussing the habitat if each hotspots. A map is represented as well to know the locations of the hotspots, and the threatens are also discussed along with the solutions. Overall this is an outstanding nature based project with attractive visuals to stick the eyes of viewer to the presentation.

Ecological Succession is the process of change in the species structure of an ecological community over a period of time.
But, over a long period of time, the climate conditions of an ecosystem is bound to change.
No ecosystem has existed or will remain unchanged over a Geological Time Scale.
Marine ecology deals with the study of the environment and life in marine waters. It involves the study of marine organisms and their habitat. The details of marine ecosystems are given in this module.
In this ppt, you will study about the different biographical zone of India and types of forest in India and about Indian Biodiversity with a video made by me on youtube. you can follow me here and you can see my more video on youtube.
Ecology is the scientific study of organisms `at home' which is called as the `environment'. The term `environment' refers to those parts of the world or the total set of circumstances which surround an organism or a group of organisms.

MAJOR TYPES OF ECOSYSTEMS
1. TERRESTRIAL ECOSYSTEMS
2. AQUATIC ECOSYSTEMS
Terrestrial ecosystems
A terrestrial ecosystem is an ecosystem found only on landforms.
Six primary terrestrial ecosystems exist:
tundra,
taiga,
temperate deciduous forest,
tropical rain forest,
grassland; and
desert.

Think of a freshwater pond in Idaho. Name one organism that could live in this pond in each of
the following classification groups
Domain Eukarya Kingdom Protista:
Domain Eukarya Kingdom Plantae:
Domain Eukarya Kingdom Animalia:
Domain Eukarya Kingdom Fungi:
Solution
Firstly, it is important to note that a pond ecosystem is a freshwater ecosystem. Thus all the
organisms living in it will be having a freshwater pond ecological-niche.
Since a pond is not deep, so the sunlight can easily penetrate the water and could reach to the
bottom of the pond and can support freshwater aquatic I.e. plant life. Pond ecosystem also
supports growth of fungi, animals, and protists.
Now in the given question it is asked to write about main eukarya kingdom protists, which mean
that these are those eukaryotes that lack multicellular stage or are not plantae, animals or fungi.
Example of it living in pond is amoeba and paramecium (they are animal like freshwater
protists), whereas chlorophyll and diatoms are plant like protists.
Example of domain eukaryotes kingdom plantae are: Bryophyta and mosses.
Example of eukaryotes kingdom animals: zooplanktons and insects.
Example of eukarya kingdom fungi: aquaphila and Jeranium.
This is the second chapter under the Unit-1 of NEET examination syllabus. It is specially prepared to make the students of the NEET examination score all the possible questions for the chappter.
4. What is ecosystem ?
The word ecosystem is short for ecological systems.
An ecosystem includes all of the living organisms (Biotic ) &
non-living things(non-biotic) in a specific location .
The plants and animals that are found in a particular location
are referred to as community.
These plants and animals depend on each other & non-living
things like weather,soild,Sun,atmosphere to survive.

5. Types Of Ecosystem
• Same kind of ecosystems are known as Biomes ,
means they have similar kind of living & non-
living things.
• All ecosystems can be divided into two parts
- Aquatic
- Terrestrial
Aquatic Ecosystem refers to ecosystem which exists
in water body –like in ocean & freshwater
Terrestrial –These are found anywhere away from
water bodies www.makemegenius.com

• It comes under Aquatic Ecosystems
• It contains both Biotic & Abiotic factors

9. Phytoplankton. Producers
These are small, usually single-celled, photosynthetic organisms, also known as algae. These are
basis of Pond Ecosystem
Primary
Consumers
Zooplankton
These are other small organisms that live in pond , these are members of the animal kingdom tha
are suspended in the water column.
Examples - water fleas, tadpoles. They consume phytoplankton
Secondary
Consumers
Larger invertebrates
Snails, worms, leeches insects consume these smaller animals
Tertiary
Consumers
Vertebrates
Vertebrates are animals with backbones. In a pond these might include fish, frogs,
salamanders, and turtles. www.makemegenius.com

10. Non-living ( Abiotic) Things - Pond Ecosystem
which help it to survive
• Humus
• Oxygen in water
• Light
• Heat
• Minerals
