Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs

Migrate To IP Telephony and Unified
Communications with Confidence
Thank You
Thank you for your time today. Our objective over the next 15 minutes is to empower you with knowledge so that you can confidently modernize your communications platform gaining all the benefits of Unified Communications and IP telephony while eliminating any barriers and risks. We call it a better start for the best finish.
Businesses like yours want to gain the application benefits of Unified Communications and IP telephony. Properly deployed your business can reduce communication costs, improve productivity and enhance customer service levels. There are three key components to the overall success of the project. The first is the network foundation, second is the gear we layer on it and third is UC applications and application adoption. The ultimate focus is on the application layer and getting users to integrate the applications into their day-to-day process driving the best return on investment possible. We understand that getting the desired result starts with a proper network foundation. Optimizing your local area network platform to support a great user experience without compromising your business is critical to your success and this is the focus of our discussion today.
Let’s start by consider your desired end state and defining what is important to you. Ensuring you can deliver a great user experience with quality of service and a robust platform no matter what is happening on your network. Eliminating risk. To go from where you are today to the desired end state we want to remove all risk if possible. You have a defined budget for the overall project. Making sure we allocate as much of your budget to the application layer will result in the best return on investment. Although there is no ROI in infrastructure, building an optimized converged LAN platform that doesn’t compromise your business while delivering a great experience is critical. The leaning tower of Pisa has great architectural features yet it’s flawed foundational makes it unusable and the most expense building in the world to maintain. The converged LAN foundation should deliver quality of service, voice continuity - if the data network fails, voice will survive. The network topology should not compromise security and should be easy to manage. Today we talk about optimizing your LAN for convergence but your data requirements evolve every three to 5 years. We want to make sure we make the right decision today that reduces costs and risk in the future as we change out your data switches. Ultimately, it is your reputation on the line and our objective is to make sure the project is delivered on time, on budget driving the desired result and ROI.
There is a proven networking innovation that was designed specifically to optimize the LAN for convergence eliminating costs, risk and complexity. This data switch innovation transforms your existing voice infrastructure into an IP path with power ideal for IP telephony.
To appreciate our confidents in best serving your requirements we would like to take you back to the future. Your users all have a computer that is connected to a switch fabric that was designed for near-time delivery. Switch reach limitations resulting in a mesh like topology where all users share the network. The larger the business - the more complex the topology with multiple closets on multiple floors. Users are accustomed to waiting a few seconds for data packets to disassemble, reassemble, get in order and the file opens. Managing the data LAN is tough enough for the IT staff with ever changing data loads, new devices and the fact that all users share the network. Complimenting data is a voice topology. The voice platform was designed specifically to support zero tolerance real-time voice requirements. The point-to-point topology means every phone had dedicated physical wire back to the central closet. Packets travel in order, on time, without contention or loss. It is this topology that delivered the five nines reliability and quality users come to expect from their phones not the technology layered on it. The Phybridge innovation allows us to quickly migrate you to a UC platform eliminating costs, risk while optimizing the LAN for convergence. Simply disconnect from the existing PBX and connect to the Phybridge switch. The switch is connected to the PBX or a router for hosted offerings. At every desk we use the PhyLink and disconnect the existing phone and connect the new IP phone. Old technology today, Unified Communications and IP Telephony tomorrow. It’s that simple.
The award winning UniPhyer has many of the features found in enterprise grade switches including: 24 & 48 port configuration, stackable Two Ethernet ports for daisy chaining or spanning tree for redundancy Fibre connections for multiple buildings, campuses Remote management Ethernet with PoE over a single pair with 1200 foot reach. – NO LOCAL POWER REQUIRED. Enough bandwidth to support triple play Highly secure with fewer points of entry Autosensing Plus many more features
The Better Start Benefits include: Lower total cost of ownership with no need for costly LAN Assessment, No need to worry about power, cooling and backup power in your data switch closets, and better Power over Ethernet port utilization given all the PoLRE switches are consolidated in a single locations. We will Eliminate Operational and Financial Risk with an easy migration path leveraging what you know is already reliable today. We can offer you a risk free real world trial and ultimately we will provide you not to exceed pricing for the complete end-to-end solution. You will have the Most Robust Platform possible with guaranteed quality of service regardless of data network loads given the dedicated bandwidth for each IP phone and the point to point topology. We will design the LAN so that voice will survive even if the data LAN fails. We will creating the most secure network given the physical separation of voice. An ultimately your IT team will appreciate that the LAN topology is optimized for convergence and very easy to manage. You will also future proof you LAN with PoLRE . Today we look to optimize your LAN for convergence but we all know that data requirements increase every 5 years resulting in the need to change your data switches. With PoLRE providing the data path and PoE for the IP phone you can easily change out your data switches with out worrying about replacing perfectly good phones or power source. Significant savings today and even more savings in the future. You can confidently migrate knowing you have a better converged LAN platform with more of your budget on applications without compromising your business.
The Compromise we are referring to is the methodology imposed on you prior to the Phybridge innovation. Data switch reach limitations and industry biases resulted in the methodology of layering IP phones on the Data LAN with the phone acting as a switch for the data device connected to it. Customers were told to abandon the proven reliable voice infrastructure and layer real-time voice on a network originally designed for near-time delivery. This methodology created many concerns for customers resulting in barriers to UC adoptions. Lets review some of these barriers to see if you can relate to any of them.
Impact on Existing Infrastructure, Time Requirement to Implementation, Network Security, Technical Support Requirements, Quality of Service, Interoperability, Physical Limitations and Barriers, Cost - Project Success. If we look closer at these barriers, we recognize they have nothing to do with the IP voice solution but are due to the methodology imposed on you given technology limitations and industry biases. For centuries innovations have been introduced to solve problems and the Phybridge switch innovation eliminates all Unified communication adoption barriers delivering a better converged LAN topology.
Let’s quickly compare the two methodologies and see which best suites your business and technology requirements and will support your success.
Quality of service over a PoLRE backbone is guaranteed regardless of data network loads. If we layer voice on the data switch fabric where every devices shares the network, quality of service is subjective and ongoing management is much more complex. With PoLRE we will create a network topology where voice survives even if the data LAN fails. If the IP phone is dependent on the data LAN and data fails, so does voice. With PoLRE we can create the most secure platform possible given the physical separation of voice. We can gracefully migrate without having to rip and replace the entire data LAN infrastructure. The alternative is you may need to forklift the entire LAN before you can do any real world trials. Not only will you greatly reduce the total cost of ownership we can provide you with not to exceed pricing eliminating financial risk while others dances around cost guarantees. With a PoLRE backbone supporting your IP phone, the only change you will need to make is data speeds. If the IP phone is on the data LAN you will need to replace perfectly good IP phones and PoE. More cost, more complexity, more risk. Lets take a closer look at costs.
The business benefits are compelling and when combined with the financial savings - a centrally converged platform is the obvious choice. Lets review both LAN readiness costs and ongoing requirement. First phase is optimizing the LAN for convergence. With PoLRE to total cost should be between $120 and $175 per user for the complete platform. We can give you an exact price once we complete our site survey. Depending on your existing data network infrastructure cost could range between $300 and $600 per user. A recent study of 1,400 users found that 60% under estimated LAN readiness with an average cost of $421. Lets go beyond convergence and look at every time you need to refresh the network to support greater bandwidth. With PoLRE the only change required is increase data speeds - no PoE or new IP phone. Cost will range in the $50 to $100 per port. The daisy chain methodology is very inefficient. Every data upgrade will require a new IP phone ranging from $200 to $500 per user, new PoE at $50 and increase data speeds at another $50 to $100 per user. A total of $300 plus every time. Every time you do a network change you will save between $250 and $500 per user by having the PoLRE switch support your voice requirements Best of all is we can allocate your savings to more applications driving the best return on investment possible.
We are confident that we can deliver a great user experience, eliminate financial risk, build the best foundations and work with you to integrate the UC applications into your business driving the best return on investment. We are sure we can help you successfully take your business to the future of communications on time and on budget.
We encourage you to do your own research on this innovation and consider all your options. What we do now is that some providers might want to keep you from considering this innovation. Savings and simplicity for you is a loss of revenue and dependency for them. We believe in serving your best interest and ensuring you maximize your return on investment. We would rather work with your users on application adoption driving a better return on investment than unnecessary infrastructure costs.
Phybridge has thousands of customers who have leveraged the switch innovation to drive significant savings. Trans Union migrated 1,400 users realizing a $1.5 million savings, completing a real world trial before making a single investment in infrastructure. They fast tracked the project by 6 months and completed the full migration over a single weekend. They were able to allocate some of their savings to application and application adoption. There are many other similar success stories for you review if interested.
We have a simple 4 step Better Start for Best Finish Plan. First we define a few high value UC applications and complete a trial. The beauty of what we are proposing is that by leveraging the infrastructure you have in place you are in control. We recommend we start with yourself and your department to ensure satisfaction than you can trial any users in your building if you so with. It’s that easy. Second - While the trial is happening we will work with your team to complete a site evaluation, review your current communication costs and understand your business so we can recommend applications that will best serve your business requirements. Third - We will go away and design the network, identify the gear required, define the applications, come up with a role out plan recommendation. All this information will be presented in a proposal highlighting the return on investment and providing you investment options to fund the project. In many cases the savings realized are sufficient enough to support investment requirements. Fourth - You decide - If now is not the right time we will remove the trial and be available when you are ready. If you decide to proceed we will formalize the Better Start for the Best Finish action plan to fit your objects.
It is imperative that we are our people with the tools to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment where customer demands are at high levels and your people are expected to do more with less. Unified communications and IP telephony are proven to deliver what your people need to deliver and we want to help you do something about it with a Better Start for the best finish, guaranteed. So get started with your trial today.
