Pollution is the contamination of the environment that makes it harmful or poisonous, especially as a result of human activities. The four main types of pollution are air, water, noise, and radioactive pollution. Air pollution is caused by industries, vehicles, and fuels and harms human health, animals, plants, and the atmosphere. Water pollution results from industrial and organic wastes contaminating rivers and causes diseases and destruction of aquatic life. Noise pollution stems from traffic, construction, industries, and other loud sounds and impacts hearing, health, and sleep. Radioactive pollution originates from nuclear power plants, weapons, and waste and leads to diseases like cancer.
