more readily available permanent magnets,

the future. Following this development work
JDW have introduced a second generation of
PM Synchronous Motors, named HPF,
achieving IE4 Super Premium Efficiency level,

Renewable energy is only part of the solution.

Electric motors are estimated to consume about
65% of the electrical energy consumed by
industry. Moreover, energy costs over the typical
life cycle of a motor can be as high as twenty
times the original capital cost of the motor.
Energy efficient motors thus offer an
opportunity to significantly reduce energy costs
and their collateral environmental effects.
Increasingly, there is a strong economic-and
environmental-case for choosing high efficiency
motors over conventional ones. Instead of
repairing or rewinding a failed motor,
organizations may profitably consider replacing
them with energy efficient motors or motor
driven systems that can bring about significant
reduction in energy consumption.
The PMSM series is an environmentally friendly
range of motors, employing a highly efficient
design of rotor that integrates embedded
permanent magnets made from the rare-earth
material, instead of the squirrel-cage rotor found
in induction motors. This design offers a number
of key benefits. It reduces heat losses from the
rotor by 100%, total losses by approximately
25%, and increases total efficiency by 10% or
more. For the PMSM user, this improved
performance translates into lower total cost of
ownership, a reduction in CO2 emissions, and
ongoing savings that buffer against future
increases in energy costs.

PMSM synchronous motors offer considerably
improved efficiency when compared to
induction motors even under partial load
conditions; and extremely high efficiency under
rated operating conditions. They also have
considerably higher power density, which, for
geared motors, yields higher system efficiency
with minimal installation volume – and also
reduced weight. Importantly PMSM drives can
produce higher torques for the same installation
volume as conventional induction motors, a
factor that allows cost saving, through the ability
to specify a smaller motor size in some
applications.

It is also used for residential/commercial
applications. The PMSM is known for having
low torque ripple, superior dynamic
performance, high efficiency and high power
density. The higher speed results in more
output of the product, E g, spinning frames,
textile machines and CNC machine and
widely used in petrochemical, power,
transportation, textile and other industrial
and mining environment, for driving fans,
pumps, compressors, belt machines, machine
tools and other machinery..
