This document discusses the importance of developing a personal learning network (PLN) for professional librarians. A PLN consists of people librarians learn from and exchange ideas with through various online tools and resources. These include listservs, blogs, RSS feeds, Twitter, social bookmarking, wikis, and virtual conferences/webinars. Developing a PLN allows librarians to gain new ideas, collaborate with others, and stay current on topics of interest. This benefits both librarians and the students they serve.
