Grasses have soft, thin, flexible stems and are usually short. Bushes have thick, hard stems with low branches and are taller than grasses. Trees have the thickest and hardest stems called trunks, they are the tallest plants with high branches, and some can live for hundreds of years as seen by the growth rings inside their trunks.
