STANDARD 2: KNOW THE CONTENT
AND HOW TO TEACH IT
2.1 Content and teaching strategies of the teaching area
PDH Program:
This PDH program was developed in order to fulfil the Early
Stage 1 Syllabus outcomes specific to Sun and Water Safety.
This program incorporates collaboratively interactive lessons
that work to develop students’ social and intellectual
development through the concept of ‘Safety’.
Sun Safety Student Work Sample:
This work sample provides evidence of students’
collaboratively interactive pair work as they participated in
creating their own sun safety poster to present to the whole
class. Through this initiative, students were motivated to
present their best work to their class peers.
TEN Program:
This program provided explicit content specific to each
students individual learning level. Students were divided into
groups of level of ability (i.e. perceptual, figurative and facile),
in which classroom learning activities were implemented
specific to each groups learning needs.
TEN Subtraction Work Sample:
This provides evidence of higher level of ability
students in the ‘facile’ group who received
differentiated content to suit their higher order
thinking ability.

STANDARD 3: PLAN FOR AND IMPLEMENT
EFFECTIVE TEACHING AND LEARNING
3.4 Select and use resources
L3 (Literacy) Activities:
Hands-on literacy resources were made to implement within L3
Rotational Activities. These resources and activities aimed to improve
students’ social, fine/gross motor, physical and intellectual development
and skills.
Hands-on shared learning experience:
Linking to the reading and understanding of the picture book ‘Possum
Magic’ by Mem Fox, KP participated in a guided lesson of making a
vegemite sandwich. This shared learning experience aimed to follow
through with a joint construction of a procedure.

  • 1. STANDARD 2: KNOW THE CONTENT AND HOW TO TEACH IT 2.1 Content and teaching strategies of the teaching area
  • 2. PDH Program: This PDH program was developed in order to fulfil the Early Stage 1 Syllabus outcomes specific to Sun and Water Safety. This program incorporates collaboratively interactive lessons that work to develop students’ social and intellectual development through the concept of ‘Safety’. Sun Safety Student Work Sample: This work sample provides evidence of students’ collaboratively interactive pair work as they participated in creating their own sun safety poster to present to the whole class. Through this initiative, students were motivated to present their best work to their class peers.
  • 3. TEN Program: This program provided explicit content specific to each students individual learning level. Students were divided into groups of level of ability (i.e. perceptual, figurative and facile), in which classroom learning activities were implemented specific to each groups learning needs. TEN Subtraction Work Sample: This provides evidence of higher level of ability students in the ‘facile’ group who received differentiated content to suit their higher order thinking ability.

  • 5. STANDARD 3: PLAN FOR AND IMPLEMENT EFFECTIVE TEACHING AND LEARNING 3.4 Select and use resources
  • 6. L3 (Literacy) Activities: Hands-on literacy resources were made to implement within L3 Rotational Activities. These resources and activities aimed to improve students’ social, fine/gross motor, physical and intellectual development and skills.
  • 7. Hands-on shared learning experience: Linking to the reading and understanding of the picture book ‘Possum Magic’ by Mem Fox, KP participated in a guided lesson of making a vegemite sandwich. This shared learning experience aimed to follow through with a joint construction of a procedure.
