2. What genre/s of music will your magazine cover?
– My magazine will cover the genre of R&B.
Who is the target audience? How old are they? Where do they live? What are their
interests?
– My target audience is mainly teenagers aged round 16, 17. On the other hand I
will also be looking to attract people slightly older up to about 25.
What is the name of your magazine? Why? Connotations?
– The name of my magazine will be “Rhythm and Bass” and I have chosen that
name because it sums up all the genre that are in the magazine by having the
abbreviations of R&B which not many people will get.
What will your masthead look like? Do you have any ideas for fonts?
– I was thinking of the word “Rhythm” in a small font which will look like a sound
wave and the word “Bass” as a bar going across the bottom.
What will the focal image for your front cover and why?
– The focal image for my front cover will be the artist that the magazine is
interviewing an this is because he is the focus of the whole magazine.
What photography will be required? Give details of shot type, angle and composition.
– Long shot where the whole body is viewable with the model looking slightly down
at the camera. The camera will either positioned eye level with the model or just
below and facing upwards.
What mise en scene will be required? Location? Clothing? Make up? Lighting? Use of
colour?
– The mise en scene will be hats, sunglasses, chains and rings possibly.
3. What would be your sell lines? How will you entice your target audience?
– My sell lines will be: “Win tickets to live open mic performances”, “Latest news on latest
albums”.
What items and feature articles would you need for your contents page?
– The items and articles that would be on my contents page will be: event photos, artists
pictures and editor’s note.
What is the focus of your double page spread? (Interview? Features? Reviews? Etc)
– The focus of my double page spread will be the discovery and upbringing of a new artist
called “Sir Dark Knight”
What photography will be required for the double page spread? Give specific details.
– For my double page spread I will have close-ups and mid shots. For my 100% image page it
would be a close-up of SDK with an appropriate background with the gradient of light getting
brighter towards the middle. For that picture the camera will be positioned in a dog’s eye
view looking up at the artist while the artist looks down.
