Operational process within Coal Handling Process Plant currently
- The coal is received from the mine as raw materials by means of Bell tractors into the
tip bin which has the capacity of 150 tons (of -400mm x 0) in size.
- The feeder, underneath the tip bin, feeds the primary conveyor, and the coal is then
conveyed to the grizzly bars and the 100 mm oversize particles is pushed to the jaw
crusher in order to have -100mm size material to the secondary conveyor which feeds
the sizing screen.
- The undersize of the sizing screen as-40mm reports to the surge bin feed conveyor
ready for process.
- The oversize material of the sizing screen goes via the chute to the shumar double roll
crusher for -40mm in size, and once is crushed it is conveyed by the recycle conveyor
back into the secondary for re-screening.
- The -40 x 0 mm materials are crushed and through surge bin conveyor stored in the
surge bin which has 300 tons capacity. This is made to have constant feed rate into
the plant.
Underneath the surge bin is the (VSD) feeder which feeds the plant via plant feed
conveyor.
- The coal firstly goes through the desliming screen to remove fines then the top size
goes to the mixing box and is then pumped up into the high gravity cyclone to remove
the discard (spigot side of the cyclone).
- The overflow of the cyclone is then flowed to the static then to the product double
deck screen, this is where the -40 x 6 and 6 x 0 mm is split. The 40 x 6mm coal reports
to the second cyclone called (low gravity cyclone) which separates the low ash coal and
the middlings. The overflow is called low ash product whereas the underflow is the
middlings.
- The 6 x 0mm material report to the conveyor into the bin as final product.
6. EMPLOYMENT PROFILE :
P.J. ELS Cell : 072 561 3921
- The spiral product i.e. (-1.0mm material) after separated from shale by the spiral,
reports to the spiral product thickening cyclone then into the screen which transfers the
product into the 6.0 (duff) conveyor.
- 40 x 6mm low ash (overflow) report to the conveyor belt to the dabmar for sizes.
