2. Name: Josh Stevens
Age: 17
Description: Josh has a bad background and history getting in lots
of trouble throughout the years of his life. His father died when he
was 7 so it made him rebel against authority and take the wrong
path in life. He is involved in gangs, crime and drugs and he is on a
path to a dead end and something has to go wrong soon.
Evaluation of character- I have used characters from other films and
I've got different qualities from each of them. Many crime films have
a dominant male characters so this is shown in my opening and
planning of film. My character is involved in many bad things which
creates a mysterious and dark representation of him in the opening
until the audience find out his soft side in the film and why he is this
way.

3. My character wears 'normal' clothes in the beginning of the opening
but later on wears a big coat with a hood that hides his face. The coat
creates a dangerous and bad feel as he is hiding his identity and he
looks bigger and more scary wearing the coat.
The props used in the opening were drugs, a knife, money and a
phone, this gives a bad and negative view on the character which I
want my audience to have during the opening. I also used a police
hat and I knife giving small hints to what happens in the film and
makes the watcher want to know what happens.

4. I used my house as a location and different rooms to create different
shots and angles and to make my film flow. Nearer the end of the
opening I used different areas around Harlington for a variety of
places when my character was walking down the path each time. On
the last one of these I used an alleyway to create a dead end effect as
if there was nowhere for my character to go.

5. I filmed the opening on my own on a bridge camera that helped with
quality and variations of shot I also used a tripod which allowed me
to get many different angles. I edited each clip to edit me turning the
camera on and off out of the shots so there were no faults. I included
many different shots in my opening such as fly on the wall shots
various distance and height shots and also shots such as my
underwater shot which is quite unique and interesting. My shots all
went well together because of how I filmed it and it made the
opening flow. I used my storyboard to get all my shots and it made it
a much faster and easier to carry out. I used many different locations
in my filing to keep interest and also be diverse. I kept my shots not
too long otherwise it may be boring so I generally tried to keep each
shot at around 5 seconds to allow flow and speed and fast beat to my
opening because of the genre of it. I tried to get the best lighting and
quality for each shot for a professional finish on my piece. My
filming created the story very well and included subtle hints of what
the story is about and make the audience want to see more.

6. I edited my opening on Power Director and it was easy to use and
allowed me to add many different features for the videos and the
sound of the clip. My opening mainly consisted of non-diegetic
sound but had one shot with diegetic sound, the first clip was my
alarm clock and when I turned it off the music perfectly played at
the same time of hitting it. This was due to what the editing studio
allowed me to do and the variety of things I could do which enabled
me to create the most professional opening I could. By editing the
clips and shortening them and putting them together allowed me to
create a good flow through my opening and showed the story very
well, it allowed me to create the audience to want to watch more and
it told the lots about the story in subtle ways which is clever. The
software allowed me to edit the music in my clip to make it fade out
and have it at different volumes, this created emphasis in the
opening.

7. My TV drama genre is Crime, this genre is clearly portrayed in the
opening as it involves things such as alcohol, drugs, money, knifes
and police. This gives a clear understanding to the audience that it is
a Crime Drama. My character is a male and my opening shows that
he is the main, dominant character of the TV Drama.
My target audience would be the age from 15-30, I feel like this
would be a good choice of age as teens can relate to my TV drama
and also people at the age of 30 are not too old for my piece but are
still able to understand the lifestyle of the teen in my film.
