What have you learnt from technologies from the
process of constructing this product?
3. During the process of producing the
magazine, different media technologies have been
used to create it to the quality it is.
These technologies are; Laptop, Gimp (editing
software), Photoshop, Wordpress, Slideshare, Youtube
, dafont.com, Kodak Easyshare camera, Microsoft
Word 2007, Microsoft Powerpoint 2007, Paint, HP
Photosmart C4580 Printer/Scanner, Internet
Explorer, Windows Movie Maker, Nikon D3000.
Verbatim 8GB Memory Stick.
4. Nikon D3000, This is the camera I used to take the
photos of the main models who star as ‘DUO’. As this
camera gives a much higher quality to the images.
Kodak Easyshare Camera was used to take all the
images that appear on the contents page and the
pictures that was done for the original idea for the
music magazine.
5. I used the Compaq laptop I own
to save and edit all the pictures I
took from the camera I used.
I also used the HP computers that
they have at school to mainly do
all the uploading to my blog, it
was also used to research into
similar products and also the first
stages of planning and designing.
Also to do all the analysing and
written work that built all the
research to give me a better
understanding and idea of a
music magazine.
6. This is what I used to scan on all my sketched drafts to
upload onto my blog, they automatically transfer the
documents to my computer. This was also used to
print off research to put in my folder, and also to print
of research to analyse, and then I scanned back onto
my computer and uploaded it to my blog.
7. Microsoft Powerpoint &Word 2007 were used to put
my pre-lim task on and were used to do all the writing
and putting some of the research on and then
uploading it using Slideshare.
Slideshare is the software that embedded my Microsoft
work ready to be uploaded to my Wordpress Blog.
Wordpress is where all of my work is posted and is
viewed. It has all my
research, planning, designing, final product and
evaluations.
8. Youtube was used to express a
different way of telling the
examiner what I have researched
and just to use a different media
technology. It also a different way
to show and understand the
information, instead of just
writing it all.
Photoshop – I only used
Photoshop to experiment and
only edited a few pieces of text
using Photoshop, the main
editing software I used was GIMP.
9. The software I used to make and edit my magazine was
a software called GIMP. I had never used GIMP before
but it was recommended and I found it a lot easier to
use and understand the tools to create my media
product. The quality it leaves is very high it didn’t take
me too long to get the grips of it but having to make
everything on separate layers was confusing, but
turned out to be much more easier to edit when
wanting to make changes.
10. Paint was used to crop print screens and then save
them as jpg. images.
My Verbatim memory stick was used to save all my
working documents onto so I could transport my work
easily as its a very small device. It keeps all my
photos, documents, Print screens and copies of all my
work from my computer and laptop.
11. It did take a while when creating my product as I was
unaware of how to use all the different softwares at
first. All the different technologies such as Wordpress
and Slideshare have been of such great advantage, so
as well as uploading my work, I now have a new skill I
did not know how to work before.
Now having the knowledge of all these different
technologies and software's, my future projects are
sure to be much more of a higher standard and it will
show in the intelligence of the new skills I’ve learnt in
this project.
