Pinterest remedies copyright issues and implements rock-solid
DMCA (Digital Millenium Copyright Act) procedures, although
problems still remain
Looking through pinboards reveals two things
     • The majority of user-copied content appears to consist of protected
       works
     • Pins link back to source pages, but rarely do users provide attribution
       to the copyright owner

Pinterest has taken additional steps to prevent copyright infringment

Developed a “nopin” meta tag, which site users can use to disable
other users from easily pinning photos from that site to their
pinboards
Time will tell if copyright is to become a bigger issue for Pinterest
