in Goodwill’s house. Then he continue the journey together
through many adventures.

7.  Christian meets the monster Apollyon, who tries to kill him.
Christian is armed, and he strikes Apollyon with a sword.
 Appolyon is the symbol of devil.
 Christian meets Faithful, a traveler from his hometown. Faithful
and Christian are joined by a third pilgrim, Talkative, whom
Christian spurns.
 Evangelist arrives and warns Faithful and Christian about the
wicked town of Vanity, which they will soon enter. Evangelist
foretells that either Christian or Faithful will die in Vanity.

They crossed so many places like Lucre,
By-Path Meadow, Doubting Castle, The
Delectable Mountains and faced so many
dangers.
At last Christian and Hopeful gleefully
approach the land of Beulah.

10. The Land of Beulah
The Celestial City Is located in the country of beulah. This country was on
the border of heaven and so the shining ones could be seen walking
there. The landscape teems with flowers and fruit, and the travelers are
refreshed. To reach the gate into the city, they must first cross a river
without a bridge.

11.  Christian was very
much afraid. But
Hopeful was not so
much afraid as
Christian. Christian
nearly drowns, but
Hopeful reminds him
of Christ’s love, and
Christian emerges
safely from the water.
 Thus they reached
the other end of river
they lose the body
and are transfigured.

12. The residents of the Celestial City joyously welcome the two
pilgrims.
