Pidgin as a language is a grammatically simplified
communication method. It is usually develops when
two or more group have to develop a system of
communication when a common language doesn’t
exist.
4. Creoles
Is a language that comes from a simplified version of another
language, or the mix of two or more languages.
A language that evolved from contact between a European
language (e.g., French, English Portuguese) and a local
language( or a variety of local languages)
A mother tongue formed from the contact of two languages
through an earlier pidgin stage.
5. Difference between pidgin and creoles
Pidgins are learned as a second language in order to facilitate
communication, while creoles are spoken as first languages.
Creoles have more extensive vocabularies than pidgin languages and
more complex grammatical structures.
Pidgins exist as a second languages for adult speakers, if the children
of those adults are exposed to a pidgin, they do not grow up speaking
it. Instead, they develop a complete language known as creole. A
creole is a pidgin language that has become the native language of
the children of adult pidgin speakers.
