Introduction
“Are you interested in creating the best
photography work possible? Do you
want all your work to look as
professional as can be? Well, then this
is the right place for you. With this
guide we will establish what
Photoshop is, the basic structure and
functions of it, and how easy you can
become a Photoshop master as well.
Start creating!
4
What is Photoshop?
It is to alter a photograph digitally using an image-editing software called Adobe
Photoshop, among the most famous.
You can use Photoshop for almost any kind of image editing, such as touching up photos,
adding or reducing weight, changing the illumination, creating high-quality graphics, and
much, much more.
The program is available for Mac and Windows, and though hard at the beginning can be
mastered easily.

Document Window:
Workspace:
Panels: Layers:
You will use this the most as you switch
between different layers in your
document. You can change different
aspects of the layers like transparency,
visibility, blending, and even group or
merge them, among other functions.
A basic tool that helps you monitor and
modify your work. Panels can be
grouped, stacked, or docked.
The working space that will contain the
canvas and all the functions, such as
the Application Bar, the Tool Panel,
Option Bars Control, Document
Windows, Panels, and the Application
Frame.
This displays the file you’re working on.
Document windows can be tabbed and, in
certain cases, grouped and docked.
11
Styles:
Resolution: Color Mode:
The color mode, or image mode, determines how
the components of a color are combined, based on
the number of color channels in the color model.
Color modes include grayscale, RGB, and CMYK,
among others. Photoshop Elements supports
bitmap, grayscale, indexed, and RGB color modes.
It is the fineness of detail in a bitmap image
and is measured in pixels per inch (ppi).
The more pixels per inch, the greater the
resolution. Generally, an image with a
higher resolution produces a better printed
image quality. We can add or reduce pixels.
Photoshop Styles are preset
effects that change your text
or images in just a single click

Expectations
1. Edit Photos
⬗ If you want to enhance the
color, add some contrast,
saturation, or other lightning
effects.
⬗ You can crop and resize the
image.
⬗ Add anything or delete
anything you want.
⬗ And literally edit almost
everything of the image…
14
2. Digital Painting
⬗ You can draw or paint without having
to use a mouse or a touchpad.
⬗ When you paint, different colors will
combine to create new colors just as
you’d expect acrylics or oils to do, as
there is a wide variety of colors.
⬗ You can get the effects of everything
from a felt marker to a can of spray
paint, adding the natural, professional
and traditional art look.
⬗ Create online book covers, cartoons,
paintings, etc…
15
3. Edit Videos
⬗ You can edit short clips and
play with different angles,
styles, designs, among others.
⬗ You can also use adjustment
layers and edit sizes just as if
you were editing an image.
⬗ If you can edit videos, you can
even create Gifs!
16
4. Web Design
⬗ Though it might sound
uncommon, it is used by
professionals all the time to create
a “mock-up” of what the page will
look like.
⬗ It’s far easier to resize objects,
move things around the page, and
just try ideas out. And makes the
HTML easier to organize and
work with.
17
5. Create Text Effects
⬗ There's an almost unlimited
amount of things you can do
with text in Photoshop. Use
the Type Mask Tools to create
picture filled text, then upload
the results to your web page -
or print them out. Use
different colors, sizes, styles
and animations.
