Photoshop Description
Project 1:For this assignment, I chose a YouTube tutorial that explained how to blend two
pictures together. First, I selected my two images from Bridge. I then highlighted the two
images and loaded them into Photoshop layers. Next, I selected the gradient tool from the side
bar. Before using this tool, I clicked the add layer mask icon to my overlapped image. Finally, I
selected the top of my picture using the gradient tool which then blended my two photographs
together. To add words to my background, I simply used the text tool from the side bar, and
selected a color for the text. Then to make this project look more complete, I used the bevel
and emboss tool to change the shadows and depth of the text. Finally, I clicked the warp text
tool from the top of the screen to make the words appear arched.
Unit Plan Project: For this assignment, I decided to create an election poster for the
Presidential election of 1860 representing Abraham Lincoln and his running mate, Hannibal
Hamlin. For this poster, I selected the following images to work with: a picture of Lincoln,
Hamlin, and photograph of an American Flag. I then selected these images from the Bridge tool,
and loaded them into Photoshop layers. Then I set each image’s resolution to 200 pixels, so that
none of the pictures would look blurry. I then used the flag as the background image, placed
the other photos on top, and used the free transform tool to make the images smaller. Next, I
faded the photographs of Lincoln and Hamlin by selecting the add layer mask and then utilizing
the gradient tool. This made portions of both images transparent, so that the background
would show through. Then, I inserted a quote and text using the text tool and color pallets.

2. Finally, I used the bevel and emboss tool to give the quote shadow and depth. Finally, I used the
warp text tool to arch the words “1860 Election.”
