This document outlines a photography plan for magazine images with 9 shots described. Shot 1 will be a medium long shot of a person in a studio with dark and red/blue clothing for the cover splash image. Shot 2 will be a medium close up smile shot in a studio with light and dark clothing for a poster. Shot 3 will be another medium long shot outdoors against a brick wall in black and dark clothing. Shot 4 will be a close up of a signed CD on a plain background to feature on the contents page shaped as a stamp. Shots 5-6 will be crowd shots from festivals to represent coverage, while shots 7-9 will be of a band playing in York from the audience and band perspectives to feature on double

Characters: One person looking towards the

Location: Taken in a studio setting with a plain

Other: This shot will be taken for the splash
image for the cover page which is why it will be
taken in the studio. As it is normal for the splash
image to be taken in a studio for a magazine,
this is what I will also do for mine to keep with
the generic look for magazines.

Location: Taken in a studio with a dark

Other: This image will be taken in a studio as it
is for a poster so it must be good quality. A large
majority of poster images are taken in a studio
so it looks much more professional and the
quality of the image is much better.

Other: This shot will be put into a circle shape
to make it look like a stamp on the front cover. It
will also be one of the lightest parts on the
cover so it will stand out and catch the
audiences eye. It will be taken on a plain
background so it is easy to edit and change how
the image looks as I will be changing it to a circle
shape.

Shot: Medium Close up
Angle: Low angle looking up at the people in the
crowd
Mise-en-Scene:
Characters: People in the crowd at Leeds festival
Costumes: Darker clothing but not much seen as it is
in the middle of a crowd
Location: Leeds festival
Props: N/A
Other: This shot will have been taken on location
and will be used for the contents page to show
coverage of different festivals/concerts. The image
will be from in the crowd of a festival which gives
the impression of the magazine being from the point
of view of the audience rather than just the bands
point of view, it makes the reader feel like a part of
the audience and will encourage them to read as not
many magazines will include this.

Shot: Long shot
Angle: High angle to look down at the stage and
the crowd
Mise-en-Scene:
Characters: People in the crowd
Costumes: Casual clothing which is slightly worn
but is not clear to see as it is a long shot
Location: You Me At Six concert
Props: The balloons coming out towards the
crowd
Other: This shot will have been taken at a
concert and will be from the end where they
released balloons into the crowd. As it was
taken from the crowd, the reader will see from
the perspective of the audience rather than the
band. This will help the reader to feel included
in the concert, even if they weren’t there.

Characters: Three band members playing
instruments on location
Costumes: Relaxed, worn looking clothes
Location: In the centre of York
Props: Instruments being played
Other: The people will be playing instruments in
York. This will create the effect of playing for the
public and lots of people being absorbed in the
music and also make them seem more
approachable towards the audience.

extra side to them, not just the band playing
