My teaching philosophy focuses on Te Whāriki, recognizing that each child develops uniquely at their own pace. Children are creative and see the world differently, learning concepts through their interests. Family plays a key role as the first teachers, bringing their child's culture and knowledge. The environment also teaches both children and teachers, inspiring the creation of a calm space where individuality is respected as learners grow.

1. My teaching philosophy revolves around Te Whāriki (Ministry of Education, 1996). I
believe that every child has its own potential and they grow at their own pace. Children
are the most creative people and they view the world from very different point of view.
They are competent enough to learn different concepts but their interests define their likes
and dislikes and they learn according to their interests.
Family/ Whānau play an important role in every child's life as parents are the first
teachers and they bring with them the culture, language and the knowledge about their
child to the center.
I also believe that environment is a great teacher for both children and teachers.
Environment is the origin of the creativity and is an inspiration for teachers to create a
calm learning environment where they learn and grow and are respected as individuals
(Ministry of Education, 1996).
