3. Bucket Factor
 A bucket factor is also called fill factor is the percentage of available ore
volume that is place with in the haulage body.
 Bucket fill capacity calculation
 The volume can be calculated by multiplying the width x Height x
Length of the dumper bucket.
 Therefore:
 V d = W X H X L

4. Front end Loader
Front end loader is a large engineering vehicle used to pick up and move
material.
 Front End Loader is also called wheel loader or bucket loader and is
purposely build for moving solid materials. They are more efficient and
fastest at moving large volume of ore in the mining sector. It is also called
front end loader because the bucket is at the front of the
 machine.

5. 90 Ton Dumper
A mining dump truck with the pay load capacity of 90 metric tons that is
designed for the transportation of rock or ore in the mining company or
sector. the way to calculate the load of a dump truck is multiplying the:
high x width x length the truck bucket. That is the volume.

6. Excavator
A mining excavator is a type of heavy machinery used to dig raw material in
mining operations particularly in surface mining and underground mining.

Dragline excavator

7. Electric Shovel
Electric Shovel is a power shovel that is used for stripping. It is a bucket
equipped machine, usually electrically power, used for digging and
loading earth or fragmented rock and mineral extracted.

8. Difference b/w Long Ton & Short Ton
What is the difference b/w the long Ton and Short Ton?
the difference b/w the long Ton and Short Ton are:
A U.S. ton is equal to 2000lbs. The us ton is referred to as short ton while
along ton on the other hand, weight 2340lbs. The metric ton which is
referred to as a long ton is equal 1000kg or about 2204.6lbs

9. Tonnage factor
Tonnage factor in mining provides the mechanism for the conversion from
volume to ore to weight of ore, in the SI unit system tonnage factor is
normal cubic feet per ton of ore and in metric is the specific gravity of the
ore.

10. Equipment selection (procedures)
The mining equipment selection procedures is base on the production need
of a mine, as was to minimize the cost of production. It is one of the real
challenges of mine planners with the selection of suitable fleet of
equipment and their application.

11. Why do we study mine machinery
We study mine machinery to enable us secures the production needs of a
mine as well as minimizes costs of production. It also enable us to know
more about the machine which we are to use in the mine.
