Shovel and dumper combination is a type of heavy equipment used in open cast mining operations. It is composed of two separate machines, a front-end loader (shovel) and a backhoe (dumper). The shovel is used to scoop ore, rock, or other materials out of the mine, while the dumper carries the load to a designated area for further processing. Through a comparative analysis approach and eight weeks of data collection, the study addressed key research questions related to solar radiation patterns and optimal system design. The findings highlighted regions with heightened solar radiation levels, showcasing substantial potential for power generation and emphasizing the system's efficiency. Optimizing system design significantly boosted power generation, promoted renewable energy utilization, and enhanced energy storage capacity. The study underscored the benefits of optimizing hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems for sustainable energy usage. Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.

3. BUCKET CAPACITY
The total amount of material carried by a bucket is the amount inside
the bucket plus the amount piled on top of it. This is called the Heaped
or Rated Capacity. The amount of material piled on top of the bucket
(heap), is determined by the angle of repose of the material being
handled. The Society for Automotive Engineers (SAE), for purposes of
creating a standard for comparatively rating buckets, has defined two
different angles of repose (the steepest angle to which a material can be
piled without slumping):
• Wheel Loader Buckets; 2:1
• Hydraulic Excavator Buckets; 1:1
The dimensions of a standard bucket are about 26 x 44 x 29
(W x H x D), but the same can be customized as per the requirements
that you have. The size or the shape of bucket that you choose should
match with other components of the set.
Formula for calculating the volume of bucket capacity:
VBC = volume of bucket capacity and A = cross setional area x length
VBC = A x L
4. FRONT END LOADER
A front end loader is a large enineering vehicle used to pick up and
move material into a dump truck. It is also called a scoop loader, skip
loader or bucket loader.
COMPONENTS OF A FRONT END LOADER
Typically a front-end loader is comprised of two key components:
• Lift arms: which consist of hydraulics that provide the lift capability
and operate attachments.
• Attachments (buckets, bale spear or pitchfork)

• Loading capacity of a dumper: The maximum load placed on the
bucket of a dumper for an extended period of time.
• Gross weight of a dumper: The total weight of a dumper
excluding the packaging.
• Maximum speed of a dumper: The highest rate of speed a
dumper can attain.
• Minimum ground clearance of a dumper: The vertical distance
between the ground and the lowest point of a dumper except
the wheels,when it is stationary and fully loaded.
• Curb mass of a dumper: The actual or manufacturer's estimated
mass of a dumper at normal capacity.
• Over all size of a dumper: The total size of a dumper
considering the length, width and heigth.

7. EXCAVATORS
Excavators are earthmoving vehicles that feature a bucket, arm, rotating cab
and movable tracks. Excavators perform a variety of functions including:
• Excavating mines
• Digging trenches
• Breaking holes
• Lifting away waste
Types of Excavator:
• Crawler Excavator: used for mining and trench digging.
• Long Reach Excavator: used in hard-to-reach areas on mining site.
• Hydraulic Excavator: used for mining and heavy digging projects.
• Wheeled Excavator: used to excavate flat/hard surfaces.
• Suction Excavator: used for underground projects , fragile digging and
debris cleanup.
• Skid Steeers: used for site clearing, and debris removal.
8. TYPES OF EXCAVATOR
• Dragline Excavator: used for surface mining, deep excavation and under-water
operations.

9. ELECTRIC SHOVEL
A power shovel or electric mining shovel used for digging and loading earth or
fragmented rock and for mineral extraction. It gives optimal turns(360°) and keeps
the operator from a safe distance to the excavation site.
COMPONENTS OF AN ELECTRIC SHOVEL
Basic parts of a power shovel include: the track system, cabin, cables, rack, stick,
boom foot-pin, saddle block, boom, boom point sheaves and bucket.

10. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LONG TON AND SHORT
TON
The difference between long ton and short ton is that: The long ton or
the british ton is equal to 2,240 lbs. while the short ton or the metric
ton is equal to 2,000 lbs.
Conversion Factors
• British ton: 1 ton = 2,240 lbs.
1 ton = 1,016 kg
• Metric ton: 1 ton = 2,000 lbs.
1 ton = 907 kg
11. TONNAGE FACTOR
The tonnage factor provides the mechanism for the conversion from volume of ore
to weight of ore. In the english system, the tonnage factor is expressed s cubic feet
per ton of ore. In the metric system, the tonnage factor is the specific garvity of
the ore.
TONNAGE FACTOR CALCULATION:
Once you have calculated the surface area, then devide the tonnage by the surface
area, the desire result is the tonnage factor. Typically tonnage factors can range
from 2 – 8 tons per square inch(tons/in²), depending on the material.
