8. ➢ Basic Eligibility Criteria:
✓ Master's or Post Graduate Diploma (2 yrs) or Professional
qualification - CA/ ICWA/CS with B.Com/Degree
OR
✓ B.Tech./ 4 year Degree with 6.5 CGPA or equivalent
➢ Selection Process:
✓ Common Admission Test (CAT) or a standard test in lieu of
CAT.
✓ For NRIs and Foreign students this standard test is the
Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
✓ Different Areas of specialization at IIMA have specified
different standard tests in lieu of CAT, like GRE, GMAT.

• PGPX/PGP-PMP Alumni of any IIM where such courses are offered
(Part-time/evening/week-end/Distance Learning programmes of IIM are NOT considered)
10. ➢ Fellowships
IIMA provides comprehensive fellowship that covers all academic expenses
including tuition, computer, library, medical insurance, placement and alumni
fees, and also includes a monthly subsistence allowance of
- Rs.32,800/- (Slab A) for first and second years
- Rs.35,400/- (Slab B) after completing comprehensive examination and
- Rs.39,300/- (Slab C) after submitting the TAC approved thesis proposal.
➢ Contingency Allowance of Rs.25,000 per year (for five years) to cover
research expenses, expenses on books, photocopying etc. are also
available to all students.
➢ Rs.1,75,000/- (upper limit) for attending international conference/
workshop/summer school during their 5 years tenure in the Programme.

• One credit means 20 sessions of 75 minutes each.

15. Timeline
• Total minimum requirement is 30 credits
• Baseline for course work completion includes Induction term,
First year (3 terms) and Second year (3 terms).
• Area Comprehensive Exam (ACE) after Term 6 during April until
June 30 of second year (and at most July 15th).
16. Promotion to Second Year
• A Minimum Average Grade Point of 2 for all
courses taken in first year, AND
• A Mimimum Average Grade Point of 2.55 for Core
Ph.D level courses and Area Ph.D Core courses,
AND
• Not more than 4Ds and no Fs with course
equivalent to one credit each
17. Beyond Second Year
• 5-year fellowship support to students
• Thesis Advisory Committee
• Allow External Experts (with PhD) to come as Third
Member on Thesis Advisory Committees.
18. TA-ship
• Students (after their ACE) compulsorily work as a
Teaching Assistant for 2 courses before graduation.
