Divergent Plate Boundary
GEOL114: INTRODUCTION TO OCEANOGRAPHY M2A1 PLATE TECTONICS
PROFESSOR: DAVID STEFFY CHRISTOPHER WATSON 1 SEPTEMBER 2016 1. Name the
three types of plate boundaries. The three types of plate boundaries are divergent, convergent, and
transform plate boundaries. (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, 2013) 2. What is
the direction of plate movement relative to one another in a divergent plate boundary? A divergent
plate boundary is one where two plates are moving away from each other. (National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Administration, 2013) 3. Name one divergent plate boundary or spreading center and

What happens when ice sheets recede? Ice sheets are mainly fresh water. When the ice sheets
recede we end up with pockets of fresh water or lakes. 11. What is the effect of advancing ice
sheets on the sea level? The ice melting will raise sea level. According to the National Snow and Ice
Data Center, if the Antarctic Ice Sheet melted the sea level would rise by about 60 meters. 12. What
is the effect of melting ice on coastlines and islands? The coastal lines move inward causing the
land masses to shrink. References Center for Educational Technologies. (2005, April 28). Retrieved

Reflection Paper On Child Development
On October 21, 2017, I was able to observe Claire Marcus for my Life Span Development class.
This observation allowed me observe the physical and cognitive changes children experience. It
was performed at the Marcus household in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This observation was
consented by Claire s mother. Claire Marcus is a seven year old, female. She enjoys playing
sports, having play dates with her friends, and excelling in school. At age seven, children are
going through large stages of development physically, cognitively, socially, and spiritually. By
observing Claire Marcus, I was able to get a better understanding of these stages of development,
and I was able to see her interact with those around her. It gave me the opportunity to see the
different stages of development that I have read about in Santrock s book, Essentials of Life
Span Development. As stated by Santrock, children at this age are continually growing. In this
stage of life, children grow an average of two to three inches each year (Santrock 2014, pg. 191).
In the last year Claire grew several inches, and is no longer the shortest girl in her class. She had
to get all new clothes and shoes because she quickly out grew her old ones. During this growth
spurt, Claire also began gaining muscle, and losing her baby fat. Her motherexplained that after
Claire s growth spurt she is now the similar size to her friends and classmates. She is the average
height and weight for her age, however, before her

Tradeoffs Between Relational and Object-Oriented Database...
Discuss the tradeoffs between relational and object oriented database management systems
1) Stating Position
The object oriented DBMS is superior to the relational database on some specific counts,
primarily because it can satisfy the complex demands of the market today better than the any
other. Secondly while the relational data base stores data as tables, the object model stores data as
objects and creates associations. This can create a multiple set of attributes for each object such
that the data base is more flexible to the requirements that may be housed for different sets of data
having both similar and dissimilar characteristics. The paradigms then are developed for each set of
common characteristics and unique characteristics of the objects which is not possible in a
relational database that has a very rigid structure. (Bruegge, 2004)
Earlier the heterogeneous systems integration is a major issue. Therefore it has to be considered if
the system proposed is amenable to multiple platforms and will give the same results. There are
many applications available to enforce this, but it is to be borne in mind that in a data management
system many components have to be integrated with the system and the layering of these
components becomes critical. (Thuraisingham, 2001) But the requirements today have gone
beyond the traditional DBMS and the system is expected too seamlessly perform varied functions
like tracking functions, data analysis and reporting, vendor

The Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai, India, In Service for Sight.
The Aravind Eye Hospital has achieved a lot of success even though it started off as a hospital only
with 20 beds and 3 surgeons in Madurai, India, in 1976. How did they achieve such an enormous
success? Is it because they were following the principles of McDonaldization which made them
highly effective and efficient?
Firstly, in this essay, the student will find the answer to the question stated above and study which
principles of McDonaldization were applied in Aravind Eye Hospital. Secondly, she will review the
accomplishments achieved and the journey the hospital had to go through to be one of the greatest

Failure To Meet Zoning Laws
City governments are tasked with writing and enforcing zoning laws that define all aspects of
private use of property within the city s district. In order for businesses and other groups to build
and use plots, or zones, of land that they own within the city s district, they must get approval from
various city government officials. Failure to meet zoningrequirements for the specific use
proposed, as interpreted by certain officials, results in denial of the entity from using their land for
that purpose. On March 22nd, I attended a meeting of the Salt Lake City Planning Commission
(PC). The meeting concerned approving group s proposed usage of propertythey own. Specifically,

The meeting resolved the issue of theRuby s proposal to build townhouses, but the status of the
OSA s expansion is still uncertain. They cleared the first hurdle by having the PC conditionally
approve it, but they still need to appeal to the city council to change zoning laws. I learned how
zoning laws impact every aspect of use of private property. This includes the proposed usage of
each building and the impact all structures have on the flow of foot and car traffic. I also learned
all about the good OSA are doing in trying to solve the problems of re incarceration,
homelessness, and drug addiction. I do not feel the meeting should be conducted in a
significantly different way. Having STAFF present the proposal from a neutral perspective sets
the facts down, so that the representatives of the program can address the concerns of STAFF
while also telling the PC their vision and positive impacts of their program is a good order of

Detailed Summary
The story begins with a black and white flashback of the moment when Derek commits the
murder of the two young Afro American s. Danny wakes up to see one of the men standing by
the front door but can t see whether he is armed or not. He goes to tell his brother Derek who is
in bed with Stacy, his girlfriend. Derek takes a semi automatic pistol and sees two blacks and
one in the car ready for a getaway. Derek plunges out of the front door and shoots the first Afro
American several times and spots the other trying to run away. He takes aim and fires again
mortally wounding the second. The car driver speeds off with Derek firing several shots at the car,

Derek didn t allow his family to visit or write to him for the three years while he was in prison.
Now he is released and Danny comes home to meet him after school. They lost their original
home after Derek had lost his job and Doris Vineyard. Their mother is also unwell, coughing and
lying on the couch suffering probably from lung cancer. When Danny gets home, Derek notices
the tattoo on Danny s arm with the letters DOC underneath the logo. Danny tells Derek that it
was Cameron that had persuaded Danny to have it done. Derek is not impressed but doesn t say
anything. Seth arrives with his video camera to welcome back Derek. Derek, meanwhile, is on
the phone to Dr Sweeney who tells him about Danny s assignment and Derek agrees to help
Danny in his own way. Seth videotapes Danny reciting right wing and skinhead ideology about
hating that it is cool to be black and the hip hop influence on the suburbs. Derek finishes his phone

Derek assembles the family in the room while Seth is left outside waiting to get something to eat.
He tells them that he is planning to move them out of the area so they can make a new start. Derek

The Pearl Of The World
A pearl is conventionally associated with wealth and prosperity. Like a philosopher s stone, the
pearl is believed to convert sorrows into happiness. Kino, a pearl diver and his wife, Juana, along
with their son, Coyotito, are a poverty stricken family until they discover the greatest pearl in the
world. (19) With hopes and dreams for themselves and their son s future, Kino and Juana perceive
this pearlto be a resolution for all of their troubles. After finding the Pearlof the World, (22) Kino is
plagued with vexation. His benevolence and good intentions are soon overcome by his greed. The
collective rapacity of Kino and other people precipitates misfortune and violence around Kino. This
eventually leads to Coyotito s death. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But, as the story progresses and he discovers the Pearl of the World, (p22) Kino tries to sell it so
that he can rise above his poverty and procure a better life for his son. Kino s newfound
motivation to ameliorate his family s conditions alienates him from others including his wife.
Driven by the new Song of Evil (p5) and the music of the enemy, (p5) Kino finds himself making
extraordinary sacrifices to attain tangible wealth. Juana, because of her strong instincts, senses
the evil vibes coming off of the pearl and concludes that it is like sin (p38) and that it will
destroy (p38) them. Kino, however, is oblivious to the pearl s negative effect as he assumes the
pearl to be their only chance. (p38) Social structures such as the family, the village, and the town
are central to the pearl. However, the central unit, for Kino and Juana is their family. They make
sacrifices for each other and their son Coyotito. Kino and Juana s dedication towards their son
Coyotito is most evident through their wish for him to go to school (p25) and break out of the
pot that holds (p39) them in. Although Kino s family life is threatened upon the discovery of the
pearl, much of its damage is caused by the individualistic greed of the people surrounding them.
The doctor, (p7) the priest, (p27) the neighbors, (p8) and the pearl buyers (47) all equally
contribute to Kino and his family s downfall. The doctor (p7) and the priest (p27) are

A Brief Note On Singapore And Conduct Business
DOING BUISESS IN SINGAPORE The reason we are going to Singapore is to conduct
business. With that being said, it is important to learn the way business is conducted in the
nation of Singapore. Subtle differences in the approach can potentially make or break a deal.
We have to be knowledgeable about their customs in order to avoid offense. Greetings Greetings
follow a strict protocol based off of ethnic origin and race. The elders are always introduced first.
Elders may or may not be accustom to shaking hands which is why you are to wait on them to
extend their hand first. If the person is from a Chinese background the handshake will tend to be
light and prolonged. If the person is Malay it is important to know that the women are not
allowed to shake hands with Malaysian men. This is due to the fact that Malaysians are mainly
Muslim and contact between males and females in public is forbidden. Instead they may utter
the phrase salaam followed by a bow. For our female employees, a nod and a smile will suffice.
If you are going to exchange business cards make sure the card is in pristine condition. The
treatment of the card is seen as a reflection of the relationship (Doing Business in Singapore).
Verbal and Non Verbal Communication The top four languages spoken in Singapore are English,
Mandarin Chinese, Tamil, and Malay. Luckily for us, the top language used for business and
politics in Singapore, is English. To Singaporeans, saving face is very important. It is a sign of

The Priestly Line Of Malki Tzedek
About the Priestly Line of Malki Tzedek for those that want to learn more.
In Numbers 18 the Most High says, speaking about the priesthood, that it is an eternal covenant
with Aaron and the Levites that these are the duties that he and they have. What s clear here is no
one from the Davidic line in the tribe of Judah could ever bring an incense offering into mikdash
ha kodesh(the holy of holies) in the Temple Lev 16:12 13. There can never be a high priestfrom the
house of David. The priesthood belongs to Aaron, his sons and the Levites forever.
This next point must be addressed. In the Tanakh(OT) it says David s sons were priests (2 Sam
8:18), that doesn t mean they were priests of Aaron. The Hebrew word there translated as priests...

David is given the power of defeating his enemies in the manner that Abraham was in Genesis
14. That power is being passed down to him and now he will defeat his enemies. the Most High
does not break His promises, they are covenants, He s not going to change them. You are a priest
forever David is told, a Kohane, one who has been given an important office. David s children are
called priests, Kohane, that does not mean they are of the lineage of Aaron and will officiate in the
Temple performing priestly duties. It means David s sons hold important offices.
Numbers 18:19 All the gifts of the Kodesh things[offerings], which the children of Israel offer unto
YHWH, have I given thee, and thy sons and thy daughters with thee, as an eternal portion; it is an
everlasting covenant of salt before YHWH unto thee and to thy seed with thee.
The Most High says the Priesthood belongs to Aaron and his descendants forever, a salt covenant.
These are eternal covenants, they can not be broken, in fact, the Most High calls it a salt
covenant. Why a salt covenant? Because salt never spoils, it never degrades. Not only doesn t it
degrade but it preserves food, it never changes. The covenant is as permanent as salt. So if someone
tells you the covenant the Most High made with Aaron and his sons, the covenant the Most High
made with the tribe of Levi, the covenant the Most High made with the

Technology Plan Design
Introduction: Technology Plan Design A technology plan should set the direction for the future use
of technology as a tool for assisting School District in attaining their vision, mission, and goals. As
noted by Picciano (2011), planning should include a comprehensive approach to identifying needs,
commitment to follow through with action steps and resource acquisition, collaboration between
internal and external publics. The planshould also be a continuity between change and a connection
to the past that builds toward the futuredetailing objectives, rationale, strategies, and measurements.
This approach to planning assists in developing a technology plan through minimizing risks by
establishing basic evaluation criteria early in the process (pp 20 25) such as identification of
measurable goals and insuring that all stakeholders are involved throughout the process. Knight
(2011) and Senge (2001, 2012) recommend using a systems approach to planning and Picciano
(2011) supports this by describing an implementationmodel that defines, designs, develops and
disseminates technology in small incremental stages until satisfied that the technology is meeting
expected goals on a limited basis before implementing on a larger scale (p. 25). Using a systems
approach, a technology plan must identify operational feasibility and is often best implemented
through a pilot or phased in process. While a technology plan can look excellent on paper,
identifying needs,

supernatural ability to look into other people s lives; in their eyes. The problem starts when Figgis

for what is about to happen. The things that help prepare the reader for what happens, is Figgis

These are the strange things Figgis foresees taking place. The main thing that prepares the reader

his special ability and his things . As the book progresses to the point where Figgis has been
completely taken over by

Evil In The Tell Tale Heart
The glint of the vulture eye shown through the dark night. Suddenly, it slightly opens, blinded
from the light. It can t see the being behind the light. Is it a green, slimy monster, or one of its
own kind...human? Horror is an exhilarating genre for all audiences to read. The Tell Tale Heart
is about a diseased man who murders his employer for having a paranoid eye. In the story The
Tell Tale Heart , by Edgar Allen Poe, the three elements of horror: monster, poor choices, and
advanced knowledge are applied very well. One of the first elements of horror in The Tell Tale
Heart is monster. Monster is a creature or human, usually a character, they have a history and have
developed as a character over a period time. Most of the time, they torment other characters in the
story. The narrator of The Tell Tale Heart is the monster. In the story, the narrator explains that, In

Poor choices is when a character does something and trouble is an expected or end result to the
situation. This element is in the story a lot, with the narrator, when killing the old man and the
events leading up to the killing. While watching the old man, the narrator described, I made up
my mind to take the life of the old man (Poe,295). The narrator is not thinking about what will
happen as consequences to this action. If the narrator had not made this decision to kill the man,
this whole story would have stopped and been boring. Lastly, the narrator stated, NOw you may
think that I drew back but no (Poe, 297). The poor choices element, is a decision and this quote
says the decision he had and how he chose not to draw back and stop there. If the narrator had
stopped then, nothing in his life would have changed, and the old man would ve never known, but
now he s in jail telling this story. Clearly, the element poor choices is developed in the story

Controlling Cell Fate in Zebrafish
Over the past years, there have been many conflicting views over weather or not rest has an effect
on controlling cell fate. There has been previous studies that have indicated that the rest gene
influences gene expression. Researchers at the State University of New York at Stony Brook have
taken it upon themselves to determine if it is in fact true. By using methods like zinc finger
nuclease and quantitative PCR, they were able to find reliable evidence that: rest in zebrafish does
have an influencing affect on neural specific geneexpression but it fails to have many significant
effects on zebrafish neurogenesis. First of all, lets look at why exactly scientists choose to work on
zebrafish.
Zebrafish was chosen by George Streisinger who was looking for a vertebrae model system to do
work on genetics. It would appear that zebrasfish have some qualities that particularly makes them
an exceptional choice for study. They are easy to maintain, manipulate (ability to microinject DNA,
RNA and proteins into) and have many offspring rather rapidly. Another really interesting quality of
zebrafish is that in the first few days of embryonic development, embryons are transparent, which
allows imaging of cell movement and gene expression. Embryos also develop rather quickly;
therefore scientists could do testing sooner then would be capable if mammals were used. Now
lets look at what exactly is the rest protein. From what research has determined previously, we
believe the rest

Argumentative Essay On North Korea
Thank you for taking the time to listen to me, as I am sure you have other things on your plate. As
you read, I would ask you to listen to my opinions, even if yours differers. Something has come to
my attention that concerns me. North Korea continues to threaten and test nations around it,
including the US. We must stop Kim Jong Un, and do something before our wonderful country is
damaged beyond repair. Naturally people will be afraid of war and the unknowns that come with
it, but sometimes we must overcome our doubts for the greater good. Many intelligent people will
give arguments that discusses the effects of war on the economy, and how the environment will be
thrown into chaos if a nuclear strike would occur. This is a good point that we must pay attention
to, the economy must stay level for our own prosperity, and if the environment is destroyed in
North Koreait will never been usable for many many years. However, the benefits of eliminating
the threat greatly outway the negatives. It comes down to being fearless or afraid. Liberation for
the oppressed people must be obtained as soon as possible. Rocket Man is starving his citizens
and causing them to live in poverty. One third of children in the nation have suffered stunted
growth do to the lack of food available (Newman). Not only is North Koreas economy so weak it
can not pay to feed its people, the citizens only make two three dollars a month (Newman).

worth the price? A sweatshop is the place that has a poor working condition, where workers are

Sweatshops also helps in developing the infrastructure of the country. Besides raising the life
standard of the workers, it also helps in raising the economy of the country. One of the good
things is that companies need to pay taxes to the government which directly help to boost the
economy of the country. Furthermore, a successful investment in poor countries will send
message to other potential investors that there is a stable environment for investment, leading in
more investment, job opportunities and prosperity in the country. This have standardized the
global economy. Many technologies are introduced by the sweatshops in the country. Besides it
also helps in developing the infrastructure. As these factories need proper transportation,
communication, digital technologies, etc., it helps in developing it. I also agree that
sweatshops are not good all the time. Obviously, there are some bad sides of sweatshops. The
first thing is that people need to work in the horrific condition putting their life in risk.
Sometimes it s like your worst nightmare. They are a curse for human rights. They do not care
about the workers they are working for side workers are allowed to work for longer hours
without any food and break. They have always been criticized for their violation against child

Monitoring At First As The Sight Of The Sofa
Thursday, June 12th, 3041
The monitor crackled at first as the screen became brighter and brighter. The signal is fuzzy and
the sound was down low. I reach for the remote and scan through the channels. It only takes me a
couple of seconds to find the broadcast. I turn up the volume and sit down on the edge of the sofa.
The broadcaster s voice was deep and booming as he announced what today s events were to be.
On the screen was a vast green field surrounded by thousands of people being forcefully held
back by the big black barricades. Some were holding up signs above their heads whilst others were
flailing their hands in order to get attention from the guards standing at the edge of the field. The
field itself had been kept clear except ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sadly, a hierarchy has been formed because of these dates, those with a long time to live
essentially ruling the rest of us. If you are going to make it past the age of 55 you are automatically
assigned a council seat and from there you can work your way up to being part of the government.
Our dates are similar to that of societal classes. Lower class is those who are going to die young
who live in fear until they are no longer living. Middle class is made up of people who will live as
long as their early fifties. Then there is upper class. Upper class is for the lucky ones; who don t
live in fear, who are treated with the utmost respect and who don t die young.
My monitor screen flickered trying to find a good enough signal to stream the broadcast clearly.
Jumping back and forth until it returned to the live stream where the girl was now being led out
onto the field. Her hands were tied behind her back and her head was looking down, facing the
ground. Four guards walled her as she made the walk to the small grey cement slab.
It is now time. We strongly advise you to tell your children to look away.
I can t fully tell, but I think there was a note of remorse in the broadcaster s voice.
I sit paralysed and continue to watch the grotesque broadcast, loathing myself for doing so. A tall
man with slicked back black hair stepped forward. His face cracked with an apologetic grin before

Preparing For Senior Night, My Last Home Volleyball Game
Preparing for senior night, my last home volleyball game, I found myself sorting through pictures
of my high school years and noticed a recurring theme: a bittersweet memory, my walking boot.
As silly as it may sound, I have derived much of my identity from this boot. When I meet new
classmates, they ask about the status of my injury. How is your foot? Can you play volleyball
again? I cannot blame them for noticing my bum ankle. For more than a year (on and off), a
bulky, grey piece of plastic masked the lower half of my leg. For a part of this time, I even rode
through the hallways on a rented medical scooter that my friends affectionately dubbed Ricky
Bobby. This boot, the thing that once caused me anxiety is now a symbol of my determination.
Additionally, it opened my eyes to the field I want to spend the next chapter of my life pursuing:
physical therapy. The summer before my junior year, I worked harder than I ever had to train for
my first varsity season. Immediately after an intense run, I would go home and ice my ankle to
relieve the pain that I ignored during the workout itself. Push through; I would tell myself, be
strong! I thought that I was being strong by working through the pain. Sports media always praises
the athletes who played the championship game on a broken foot or a sprained ankle, but you never

Guyons Tunnel Syndrome Essay
Guyon s Tunnel Syndrome, Cyclist s Palsy
Guyon s tunnel syndrome, also known as cyclist s palsy, is a disorder that causes pain, weakness,
and loss of feeling in the wrist and the outer (ulnar) side of the hand. This happens when bones in
the hand (carpals) press on a nerve in your arm (ulnar nerve) and other blood vessels on the ulnar
side of the wrist.
CAUSES
This condition is caused by pressure on the ulnar nerve. Pressure can be caused by an external
force, such as leaning on the handlebars of a bike. In other cases, pressure can have an internal
cause, such as:
A tumor or cyst.
A fracture or an aneurysm of the ulnar nerve.

Iwo Jima Battle Analysis
The purpose of this paper is to conduct a battle analysis of the Battle of Iwo Jima and present as
alternate outcome of events based upon employment or misuse of military resources. If Japan
was not a victim of its own success, they could have won the battle of Iwo Jima. By the time
America had sought to invade Iwo Jima and use it as a key operational location for attacks on the
Japanese mainland, Japan had already gained significant ground in Southwest Asia and the Pacific.
Japan s forces were over worked and too spread out throughout the region to be able to back up the
forces bogged down in the underground caves and tunnels of Iwo Jima. For this reason America
would win a tough fight on this strategically important island.

Attitudes Toward Nature In Early Modern Europe
To explore how attitudes to nature changed in early modern Europe, we must first understand how
nature was perceived in the pre modern era. This essay will look into the pre modern Christian
theological view, before exploring the early modern era that was largely shaped by the scientific
revolution and ideas of humanism that developed during the renaissance.
Attitudes towards nature in the pre modern or medieval period, were largely based on Christian
theological views and Aristotelian science. Despite the two usually seen as complete opposites,
religion and God s plan were often considered the scientific explanation, to things such as gravity.
The Earth was viewed as the centre of the universe, created by God.Aristotelian science was mainly

Nature was no longer seen as something wild and untameable, instead it was seen as a human
right to tame it and to exploit it and use it for the benefit of human society. The work or Kepler,
Descartes and Bacon also largely showed humans to be superior and that we should exercise our
control over the once wild seeming nature. Minding of the land had its roots during the scientific
revolution, and had a big impact on attitudes to nature. Nature was seen to be a selfish woman
who was keeping her precious stones and minerals to herself, and it was man s right to take these
minerals and use it for our own benefit, doing this through mining. The chain of being also had a
great impact on the changing attitudes, as it quite literally showed humans to be superior to nature.
And once again gave way to the idea that humans have a right to domineer over

Contributions Of Industrialization
Industrialization was a time period where the process of manufacturing goods became easier
because of technological innovations. The changes during the Industrial Revolution contributed to
the rise of big business because industries wanted to expand their efforts. Industrialization assisted
manufacturing industries by making production more mechanized and efficient. Technological
innovations due to industrialization caused a rise of factories and employment opportunities in
America. The benefits of industrialization did not come easy; sacrifices were made which resulted
in unfair conditions for laborers. The rise of big business led to calls for the reform of industry
because monopolies were overthrowing other companies, which is unfair for these companies.
Industrialization led to the rise of big business, however it resulted in injustice.
As companies continued to gain high profits from their industrial endeavors, they wanted to grow
bigger and bigger. When companies realized that they were in control of all parts of their business
they could make the most profit; this is known as horizontal and vertical integration. John D.
Rockefeller, co founder of the Standard Oil Company, pursued a strategy that came to be known as
horizontal integration, in which a dominant corporation buys or forces out most of its competitors
(Shi and Tindall 632). Instead of depending upon the products or services of other firms, known as
middlemen, the company owns everything it needs in

Analysis Of The Film Roman Polanski
Roman Polanski noted for being an iconic figure in the film world is known for producing great
films such as China Town, and The Pianist. Of those two, it is argued that, The Pianist is his best
work. This is because this film has close ties to Polanski s roots. Born in Paris, France in 1933, his
father was a Polish Jew and his mother was Catholic. Polanski s family moved to Krakow, Polandin
1936. Unfortunately this move would negatively impact the Polanski family, forever. In 1936, the
Nazi occupation of Poland began, starting with the invasion Krakow it is known for being a
Jewish city. Having little money and virtually no time to escape, the Polanski family was forced to
stay in what would eventually become known as the Krakow Ghetto.
Polanski was merely a young child when he was forced to watch his mother being taken away
by the SS to a Nazi labor camp. As for his father, he was eventually taken as well. With Roman
Polanski being forced to fend for himself, he had to abide by Nazi rule, hiding from them the fact
that he was a Jew. Fortunately, for Polanski s genetics he looked more like a true German than he
did a Jew, which made it easier for him to survive in Krakow. In 1943, Roman Polanski escaped
the ghetto, and survived the remainder of the war using the name Romek Wilk with the help of
some Polish Roman Catholic Families. When the war ended in 1945 Roman was reunited with his
father. These events in Polanski s early childhood ultimately

Example Of Pathological Arbitration
Warren E. Burger , in a 1984 address to the American Bar Association lamented that:
The entire legal profession has become so mesmerized with the stimulation of the courtroom that
we tend to forget that we ought to be healers of conflict. Our system is too costly, too painful,... As
healers of human conflicts, the obligation of the legal profession is to provide mechanisms that can
produce an acceptable result in the shortest possible time, with the shortest possible expense and the
minimum of stress on the participants. This is what justice is all about.
Arbitration is envisioned to assist as an effective means to resolve disputes without involving the
costly and overburdened judicial system. However, even the finest tool is subjected to abuse in the

Gender And Gender Aspects Of Gender In Everyday Life
Gender in Everyday Life
Shyana Burks Diggins
Community College of Aurora
Gender in Everyday Life In today s culture, I see gender being a person s master status. In most
aspects of my life, I notice that gender overrides other statuses such as my race or occupation. I
believe gender does this because of the way it is instilled in every social institution. I imagine it is
hard to inquire about my experiences without it coming from a woman s perspective. It s not what it
means to be college educated, but what does it mean to be a college educated woman, and not
what does it mean to be black, but what does it mean to be a black woman. Parenthood is near
impossible to be understood without seeing it through a gender experience. Although gender is
a social construction, it dictates individuals in a way that I cannot imagine any other social
concept could. As I recorded my actions throughout the day, I realized that there are a lot of
them that are dictated by my gender. I recorded over 50 actions and I am sure that I could have
recorded differently depending on the kind of day. I recorded around 10 15 actions just from the
daily aspect of getting ready and clothing. For example, I thought I chose my clothing depending
on how I felt that day, but I realized small things like my choice of underwear was never of my
volition. Depending on the kind of pants I wore, I wanted to avoid a panty line not only for
fashion s sake but because that will affect future interactions with the other sex. With my
experience, I see that men pick the underwear that will suit their comfort level, like if they want
to wear briefs for exercising or boxers for a less active setting. Some of my actions I instantly
knew were gendered, like my application of makeup to uphold a feminine standard or even the
change of inflection of my voice when I talk to customers on the phone. As a woman and a
consumer, I know that when I speak to a representative about an issue I expect empathy. A
representative conveys that through smiling through the phone . Supervisors and trainers at my job
admit that this trait is better accomplished by women because if we sound any other way we sound
off putting and ingenuine. This

I Am Sam Movie Review
I am Sam I am Sam is a 2001 American drama film written and directed by Jessie Nelson, starring
Sean Penn as Sam who has an intellectual disability that had sole care for his daughter Lucy
Diamond played by Dakota Fanning. The two of them encounter problems with the Department
of Child and Family Services as they believe the presence of Sam s intellectual disability negates
his ability to parent. A lawyer Rita Harrison played by Michelle Pfeiffer plays an important role
in this film as she is the only one to have belief in Sam s ability to parent. This M rated film has
won awards such as the Stanley Kramer award for their ability to place an emphasis on social
concerns. People with disabilities are often discriminated against the rest of society as a result
of their impairments. Jessie Nelson s use of mis en scene and semiotic elements engage the
members of the audience to position them to have their own perspective of Sam s situation as
presented. The scene that I have chosen to analyse approaches the climax of the film where
problems begin to arise between Sam and Lucy as the department of Child and Family Services
believe Sam is an unfit parent. This has come to attention as Lucy is becoming smarter surpassing
Sam s intellectual ability. Although Sean Penn is far from being limited in his ability to express

The Abolalcy Of Voting Rights In The United States
feel unworthy of voting. They thought that if the blacks felt poor, then blacks would not vote
because they thought of themselves as improper. The money wasn t all that much, it was only $1
to $2 a year. Many of the Southerners would not hire, and even if they did they would not pay
enough for the blacks and a select few whites to pay the poll tax. No states punished those who did
not pay the tax, but many people who had to pay the tax were afraid of what would happen if
they did not pay. People also felt the need to pay them since if you did not pay you couldn t vote.
In 1937 a white man went to the Supreme Court saying that the poll taxes were unconstitutional
compared to the 14th and 19th amendments. Since he thought that the taxes were taking away a
citizen s right to vote freely without consequence. He also thought they were opposing of sex

claims, saying that the poll taxes were simply to collect revenue and in no way were related to
disfranchisement. They also said that the 19th amendment was solely meant for voting rights and it
had no relation to taxation. The case was called Breedlove v.s Suttles.

Introduction
The presence of natural resources in a country is supposed to a positive addition towards realizing
development goals. Both economic and social development is supposed to benefit from
approximated revenues that are to be generated from mining industries. However, the views that
natural resources are a major source of economic and social growth has been scrutinized over the
past decade, with the rising number of countries where resources expectations have not been met
having contributed to these reviews (Collier). These reviews have led to the emergence of two
major views with regards to the relationship that exist between natural resources and general
national development. These views are; the conventional view and the alternative view. The
conventional view holds that there still exist a positive relationship between natural resources and
growth while the alternative view uses the examples of countries where growth has declined or
stalled after discovery of natural resources. The alternative describes what is regarded as the
resources curse (Davis). This discussion paper will discuss the relationship that exists between
natural resources, governance and national growth. In doing this, North Korea will be used a case

avenues through which the resource curse can be avoided. The cases on the OT mining in

Analyzing William Byrd s Song My Sweet Little Baby

chose the song that the choir singing the tallis scholars sang. First of all, I will briefly describe
the life of William Bird who composed this song. : William Byrd was born in London in 1542
His father, Thomas Byrd, was a little known musician. He began studying music from the age of
seven, joining the choir after a while, where he trained under Master Thomas Tallis. During this
period, he made many songs and practiced composition. In 1563, he began full scale composition
and left a lot of famous songs for his descendants, but while he lives, the Catholic religion

Why Is Democratic Accountability Important To The Government
When the government brings in private corporations and organizations to help them on specific
tasks it is important for the government and private company to be transparent about what they are

the program. Not only will this procedure be useful to help gain support, but it will also help
ensure that the program stays in place and is not questioned as often. If a company and the

If people begin to make assumptions they will no longer trust the government system.

Constantine was believed to be born on February 22, either in 272 or 273 AD. The exact date and

(mainly known as Constantius Chlorus) and Flavia Iulia Helena Augusta (mainly known as Saint

Constantine also saw this as a sign from God. Constantine continually said that his success was
from his conversion to Christianity and the support of God. His devotion to Christianity was
closely associated with this rise to power.
What did he do for the Christian Religion?:
Constantine was credited for converting the Roman Empire to Christianity. Along with the Eastern
Roman Emperor Gaius Valerius Licinianus Licinius Augustus (better known as Licinius I) signed
the Edict of Milan, which ensured religious tolerance for Christians. The signing of the Edict of
Milan gave freedom of worship to all, and brought an end to the Age of Martyrs and ended the
persecution of Christianity. Constantine helped convene and took part in the first meetings of
Christian Churches, known as the Council of Nicea. The council of Nicea established equality of
the Father and Son. He initiated the evolution of the empire into a Christian state. He provided the
impulse for a distinctively Christian culture and prepared the way for the growing of Byzantine and
Western medieval culture.
After his victory the battle of Tiber River s Mulvian Bridge, Constantine was considered the
dominant figure in the empire. In this position Constantine ordered Maximinus II Dais to cease his
subjugation of the Christians.
Sometimes it was debated whether he was the first Christian emperor at all. The religion he did

Drug Seizures In Canada Case Study
Bouchard et al. (2011) assert that there are no assessments regarding the amount of ATS being

that somewhere between 38% and 75% of ATS produced in Canada is exported. Organized crime

2006. In 2006, Canada took the Netherlands and Belgium s place as the predominant source of

A more recent report by the RCMP indicates that the situation with respect to synthesis,

The Invention Of Hugo Cabaret Image Evaluation The invention of Hugo Cabaret, an award
winning book by Brian Selznick. In a successful attempt to create a movie/book feeling, he
replaced 158 pages of words with pictures. This picture, depicted on pages 118 119, caught my

provided in the pages. This image is a flashback from Hugo s mind. It shows that Hugo s father,
can t stop thinking about the automaton even at work. In the picture, Selznick has cleverly
managed to convey the mood of Hugo s father. Selznick produces this by using, body language

father is absorbed in what he is doing, which shows his passion towards his job and the

Clear Explainations of Visual Graphical Data in The Visual...
There are so many books written by well known professors and writers that are filled with
information about many things we do not know. I choose to read The Visual Display of
Quantitative Information by Edward Tufte because I found it really interesting. The first factor
that makes me want to read this book was the history behind writing this book. The writer stated
in introduction part that the primary focus of the book was to teach statistics of few journalists
who were interested in learning Economic concepts in the year of 1975 A.D which gave me a
general idea that the book was written for novices, which means that the information provided
will be clear, understandable and it will contain a lots of examples to make it clear. Being a
finance major, I had and will have situations where I have to use visual display of data many
times, but I never got to go back and check the history how they were originated, how the use of
them transformed during the era of timeand how the development of the visual display has
impacted in the modern business world. This book provided me a chance, which no other books I
have read, to see the significance of visual data, which was mostly introduced and developed from

Persuasive Essay On Nuclear Testing
Nuclear Testing Ever since Cain murdered Abel, mankind has been a destructive force unto
itself. This is very prominent today. The war on terror has been raging on for over fifteen years.
Terrorists have used several kinds of explosives to kill their targets. However, one specific
explosive remains the fear of all nations, the Nuclear Bomb. The atomic bomb was the brain
child of Robert Oppenheimer. The first nuclear bomb was also the first used in combat. Dropped
by the United States military on Hiroshima, August 5 1945, the city was leveled and left Japan
devastated. After this attack, the world was at a race to see who could perfect the weapon.
Countries across the world had nuclear weaponry tests. One of these countries, was the United
States of America. Many of the United States nuclear tests took place in and around the Bikini
Atoll in the 1940 s, 1950 s, and 1980 s. These tests changed the lives of both the native people,
wildlife, and the once beautiful ecosystem which flourished on those Bikini Atoll islands. (http:/
/nuclearweaponarchive.org/Usa/Tests/) The first of many tests in the Bikini Atoll was a nuclear
airstrike codenamed Able and was carried out on July 1, 1946, merely one year after the horrific
attacks of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The second test did the opposite. Nuclear test Baker was a
submarine test, which took place at... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After the Bikini Atoll tests, nuclear weaponry had become something of international significance.
Several movements were made to extinct the use of this most deadly and horrifying weapon. The
crowds voices were head, and nuclear tests were officially banned by our government in 1996,
during President Bill Clinton s presidency. To this day, the Bikini Atoll has not gone under any
reconstruction movements and is not planned to, due to the unsafe and irradiated nature of the once
often used site. (Gallery of U.S. Nuclear

I Do Not Own Thundercats Created By Tobin Wolf
Disclaimer: I do not own Thundercats created by Tobin Wolf Brotherly love When are you
going to grow up and learn technology is a myth? asked Tygra. Technology is real. said Lion O.
Then where s the proof? If technology is real then how come no one has brought it to our
attention? asked Tygra. Because it s right in front of you if you would just listen to me. said Lion
O. You mean all that junk you have in your room. You can find that anywhere. said Tygra. It s not
junk. said Lion O. Right. said Tygra walking away. That night. He needs to learn to grow up and
act his age. I bet he s still playing with that hunk of junk he calls technology. thought Tygra as he
headed for his brother s room. Once... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The surprise attack caused Tygra drop his sword. Lion O took that opportunity to tackle him to
the ground, pinning him. Like that? asked Lion O grins. Tygra shifted their position to break
free. Before Lion O could move Tygra had his knees on Lion O s forearms. More like this. said
Tygra crossing his arms. Lion O struggled, but couldn t break free. He tried not to think of the
how the bulge in Tygra s pants was in his face. Okay you win now get off of me. said Lion O.
Tygra moved to let Lion O up. You re getting better, but you still need to learn to think before you
act. said Tygra walking off. What do you mean by that? asked Lion O going after him. You could
have won, but you left too many openings for me to break free. said Tygra. They headed to the
bath. Lion O turned to leave. I think I ll wait until you re done. said Lion O. Nonsense. There
enough room for about ten more people. The two of us are not going to take up that much room.
said Tygra. As they got in the bath Lion O tried to avoid looking at his equally naked brother.
The smell of soothing herbs and warm water soon lulled Tygra to sleep. Lion O took notice of this
as he started to move closer. Tygra? said Lion O. When Tygra didn t give a response Lion O kept
moving forward until he was next to Tygra. He waved a hand in front of his brother s face. When
Tygra didn t give a response

Effect Of The Business Cycle Essay
This study uses time series data from the CPS March data to investigate the effect of the business
cycle from 2003 to 2014 on the wage differentials between females and males. The CPS is a
monthly sample survey of approximately 60,000 households conducted by the Census Bureau for
the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which can be considered as the primary source of labor force
statistics for the population of the United States. This study also uses data from the Local Area
Unemployment Statistics (LAUS) to get the state unemployment rate from 2003 to 2014. LAUS is
a Federal State cooperative effort that publishes monthly estimates of employment and
unemployment for approximately 7,300 areas, including all states, countries, metropolitan areas,
and cities with a population of 25,000 or more, by residence. Labor force data from the LAUS
program follows the same CPS concepts and definitions used for the national labor force data. In
particular, this study uses the seasonal adjustment monthly state unemployment rate, which
eliminates the influences of weather, holidays, the opening and closing of schools, and other
recurring seasonal events from economic time series. Since the CPS collects data through
interviewing a limited amount of people, it cannot fully represent the labor market of the United
States because of the sample selection bias. Also, since the CPS data is gathered by interviews, the
status of survey respondents is only determined by how they respond to the survey.

  • 3. Reflection Paper On Child Development On October 21, 2017, I was able to observe Claire Marcus for my Life Span Development class. This observation allowed me observe the physical and cognitive changes children experience. It was performed at the Marcus household in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This observation was consented by Claire s mother. Claire Marcus is a seven year old, female. She enjoys playing sports, having play dates with her friends, and excelling in school. At age seven, children are going through large stages of development physically, cognitively, socially, and spiritually. By observing Claire Marcus, I was able to get a better understanding of these stages of development, and I was able to see her interact with those around her. It gave me the opportunity to see the different stages of development that I have read about in Santrock s book, Essentials of Life Span Development. As stated by Santrock, children at this age are continually growing. In this stage of life, children grow an average of two to three inches each year (Santrock 2014, pg. 191). In the last year Claire grew several inches, and is no longer the shortest girl in her class. She had to get all new clothes and shoes because she quickly out grew her old ones. During this growth spurt, Claire also began gaining muscle, and losing her baby fat. Her motherexplained that after Claire s growth spurt she is now the similar size to her friends and classmates. • 4. Tradeoffs Between Relational and Object-Oriented Database... Discuss the tradeoffs between relational and object oriented database management systems 1) Stating Position The object oriented DBMS is superior to the relational database on some specific counts, primarily because it can satisfy the complex demands of the market today better than the any other. Secondly while the relational data base stores data as tables, the object model stores data as objects and creates associations. This can create a multiple set of attributes for each object such that the data base is more flexible to the requirements that may be housed for different sets of data having both similar and dissimilar characteristics. The paradigms then are developed for each set of common characteristics and unique characteristics of the objects which is not possible in a relational database that has a very rigid structure. (Bruegge, 2004) Earlier the heterogeneous systems integration is a major issue. Therefore it has to be considered if the system proposed is amenable to multiple platforms and will give the same results. There are many applications available to enforce this, but it is to be borne in mind that in a data management system many components have to be integrated with the system and the layering of these components becomes critical. (Thuraisingham, 2001) But the requirements today have gone beyond the traditional DBMS and the system is expected too seamlessly perform varied functions like tracking functions, data analysis and reporting, vendor ... In order for businesses and other groups to build and use plots, or zones, of land that they own within the city s district, they must get approval from various city government officials. With that being said, it is important to learn the way business is conducted in the nation of Singapore. Subtle differences in the approach can potentially make or break a deal. We have to be knowledgeable about their customs in order to avoid offense. Greetings Greetings follow a strict protocol based off of ethnic origin and race. The elders are always introduced first. Elders may or may not be accustom to shaking hands which is why you are to wait on them to extend their hand first. If the person is from a Chinese background the handshake will tend to be light and prolonged. If the person is Malay it is important to know that the women are not allowed to shake hands with Malaysian men. This is due to the fact that Malaysians are mainly Muslim and contact between males and females in public is forbidden. Instead they may utter the phrase salaam followed by a bow. Technology Plan Design Introduction: Technology Plan Design A technology plan should set the direction for the future use of technology as a tool for assisting School District in attaining their vision, mission, and goals. As noted by Picciano (2011), planning should include a comprehensive approach to identifying needs, commitment to follow through with action steps and resource acquisition, collaboration between internal and external publics. The planshould also be a continuity between change and a connection to the past that builds toward the futuredetailing objectives, rationale, strategies, and measurements. This approach to planning assists in developing a technology plan through minimizing risks by establishing basic evaluation criteria early in the process (pp 20 25) such as identification of measurable goals and insuring that all stakeholders are involved throughout the process. Knight (2011) and Senge (2001, 2012) recommend using a systems approach to planning and Picciano (2011) supports this by describing an implementationmodel that defines, designs, develops and disseminates technology in small incremental stages until satisfied that the technology is meeting expected goals on a limited basis before implementing on a larger scale (p. 25). Using a systems approach, a technology plan must identify operational feasibility and is often best implemented through a pilot or phased in process. There has been previous studies that have indicated that the rest gene influences gene expression. Researchers at the State University of New York at Stony Brook have taken it upon themselves to determine if it is in fact true. By using methods like zinc finger nuclease and quantitative PCR, they were able to find reliable evidence that: rest in zebrafish does have an influencing affect on neural specific geneexpression but it fails to have many significant effects on zebrafish neurogenesis. First of all, lets look at why exactly scientists choose to work on zebrafish. Zebrafish was chosen by George Streisinger who was looking for a vertebrae model system to do work on genetics. It would appear that zebrasfish have some qualities that particularly makes them an exceptional choice for study. They are easy to maintain, manipulate (ability to microinject DNA, RNA and proteins into) and have many offspring rather rapidly. Another really interesting quality of zebrafish is that in the first few days of embryonic development, embryons are transparent, which allows imaging of cell movement and gene expression. Embryos also develop rather quickly; therefore scientists could do testing sooner then would be capable if mammals were used. Now lets look at what exactly is the rest protein. The chain of being also had a great impact on the changing attitudes, as it quite literally showed humans to be superior to nature. • 23. Contributions Of Industrialization Industrialization was a time period where the process of manufacturing goods became easier because of technological innovations. The changes during the Industrial Revolution contributed to the rise of big business because industries wanted to expand their efforts. Industrialization assisted manufacturing industries by making production more mechanized and efficient. Technological innovations due to industrialization caused a rise of factories and employment opportunities in America. The benefits of industrialization did not come easy; sacrifices were made which resulted in unfair conditions for laborers. The rise of big business led to calls for the reform of industry because monopolies were overthrowing other companies, which is unfair for these companies. Industrialization led to the rise of big business, however it resulted in injustice. As companies continued to gain high profits from their industrial endeavors, they wanted to grow bigger and bigger. When companies realized that they were in control of all parts of their business they could make the most profit; this is known as horizontal and vertical integration. John D. Rockefeller, co founder of the Standard Oil Company, pursued a strategy that came to be known as horizontal integration, in which a dominant corporation buys or forces out most of its competitors (Shi and Tindall 632). • 24. Analysis Of The Film Roman Polanski Roman Polanski noted for being an iconic figure in the film world is known for producing great films such as China Town, and The Pianist. Of those two, it is argued that, The Pianist is his best work. This is because this film has close ties to Polanski s roots. Born in Paris, France in 1933, his father was a Polish Jew and his mother was Catholic. Polanski s family moved to Krakow, Polandin 1936. Unfortunately this move would negatively impact the Polanski family, forever. In 1936, the Nazi occupation of Poland began, starting with the invasion Krakow it is known for being a Jewish city. Having little money and virtually no time to escape, the Polanski family was forced to stay in what would eventually become known as the Krakow Ghetto. Polanski was merely a young child when he was forced to watch his mother being taken away by the SS to a Nazi labor camp. As for his father, he was eventually taken as well. With Roman Polanski being forced to fend for himself, he had to abide by Nazi rule, hiding from them the fact that he was a Jew. Fortunately, for Polanski s genetics he looked more like a true German than he did a Jew, which made it easier for him to survive in Krakow. In 1943, Roman Polanski escaped the ghetto, and survived the remainder of the war using the name Romek Wilk with the help of some Polish Roman Catholic Families. When the war ended in 1945 Roman was reunited with his father. These events in Polanski s early childhood ultimately ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As healers of human conflicts, the obligation of the legal profession is to provide mechanisms that can produce an acceptable result in the shortest possible time, with the shortest possible expense and the minimum of stress on the participants. • 27. Gender And Gender Aspects Of Gender In Everyday Life Gender in Everyday Life Shyana Burks Diggins Community College of Aurora Gender in Everyday Life In today s culture, I see gender being a person s master status. In most aspects of my life, I notice that gender overrides other statuses such as my race or occupation. I believe gender does this because of the way it is instilled in every social institution. I imagine it is hard to inquire about my experiences without it coming from a woman s perspective. It s not what it means to be college educated, but what does it mean to be a college educated woman, and not what does it mean to be black, but what does it mean to be a black woman. Parenthood is near impossible to be understood without seeing it through a gender experience. Although gender is a social construction, it dictates individuals in a way that I cannot imagine any other social concept could. As I recorded my actions throughout the day, I realized that there are a lot of them that are dictated by my gender. I recorded over 50 actions and I am sure that I could have recorded differently depending on the kind of day. I recorded around 10 15 actions just from the daily aspect of getting ready and clothing. For example, I thought I chose my clothing depending on how I felt that day, but I realized small things like my choice of underwear was never of my volition. Depending on the kind of pants I wore, I wanted to avoid a panty line not only for fashion s sake but because that will affect future interactions with the other sex. With my experience, I see that men pick the underwear that will suit their comfort level, like if they want to wear briefs for exercising or boxers for a less active setting. Some of my actions I instantly knew were gendered, like my application of makeup to uphold a feminine standard or even the change of inflection of my voice when I talk to customers on the phone. As a woman and a consumer, I know that when I speak to a representative about an issue I expect empathy. A representative conveys that through smiling through the phone . They thought that if the blacks felt poor, then blacks would not vote because they thought of themselves as improper. The money wasn t all that much, it was only $1 to $2 a year. Many of the Southerners would not hire, and even if they did they would not pay enough for the blacks and a select few whites to pay the poll tax. No states punished those who did not pay the tax, but many people who had to pay the tax were afraid of what would happen if they did not pay. Both economic and social development is supposed to benefit from approximated revenues that are to be generated from mining industries. However, the views that natural resources are a major source of economic and social growth has been scrutinized over the past decade, with the rising number of countries where resources expectations have not been met having contributed to these reviews (Collier). These reviews have led to the emergence of two major views with regards to the relationship that exist between natural resources and general national development. These views are; the conventional view and the alternative view. The conventional view holds that there still exist a positive relationship between natural resources and growth while the alternative view uses the examples of countries where growth has declined or stalled after discovery of natural resources. Because it s right in front of you if you would just listen to me. said Lion O. You mean all that junk you have in your room. You can find that anywhere. said Tygra. It s not junk. said Lion O. Right. said Tygra walking away. That night. He needs to learn to grow up and act his age. • 44. Effect Of The Business Cycle Essay This study uses time series data from the CPS March data to investigate the effect of the business cycle from 2003 to 2014 on the wage differentials between females and males. The CPS is a monthly sample survey of approximately 60,000 households conducted by the Census Bureau for the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which can be considered as the primary source of labor force statistics for the population of the United States. This study also uses data from the Local Area Unemployment Statistics (LAUS) to get the state unemployment rate from 2003 to 2014. LAUS is a Federal State cooperative effort that publishes monthly estimates of employment and unemployment for approximately 7,300 areas, including all states, countries, metropolitan areas, and cities with a population of 25,000 or more, by residence. Labor force data from the LAUS program follows the same CPS concepts and definitions used for the national labor force data. In particular, this study uses the seasonal adjustment monthly state unemployment rate, which eliminates the influences of weather, holidays, the opening and closing of schools, and other recurring seasonal events from economic time series. Since the CPS collects data through interviewing a limited amount of people, it cannot fully represent the labor market of the United States because of the sample selection bias. Also, since the CPS data is gathered by interviews, the status of survey respondents is only determined by how they respond to the survey. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
