Phantom Limb Syndrome
Phantom limb syndrome is an extraordinary condition that is caused by amputating a limb or
being born without a limb (Flor, 2002); This condition affects approximately 80% to 90% of
patients who have had a limb amputated (Flor, 2002). The first documented case of phantom limb
syndrome was in the mid 16th century (Nikolajsen Jensen, 2001). The description was given by a
French military surgeon by the name of Ambroise ParГ© (1510 1590) when he noticed that some
of his injured patients would express that they were experiencing extreme painin their missing limb
(Nikolajsen Jensen, 2001). He studied and wrote down the characterizations of this post amputation
state and attempted to create different models to explain how the phantom pain was... Show more

Phantom limb syndrome and post amputation pain is far more common in adults than in children,
this would be related to the brains rate or ability to regenerate. A child brain is going to repair much
quicker than an adult, as their brains are still in rapid development (Scheinberg, 2016). Other
factors can play a part and may increase the chances of a patient experiencing this condition, and
some of them include: preamputation pain in the limb that was amputated, a blood clot that formed
in the amputated limb, a preamputation infection, previous damage to spinal cord or peripheral
nerves that supplied the affected limb, traumatic amputation, and the type of anaesthesia that was
used during the operation (Scheinberg, 2016). Nikolajsen and Jensen (2001) state that in paediatric
amputees, it was found that most of the children who were experiencing phantom pain, also
expressed feeling pain before the operation. The symptoms that occur in amputees/people born
without a limb can differ slightly, but all the symptoms are experiences in a limb that no longer
exist (Scheinberg, 2016). The symptoms of phantom limb syndrome include; shooting, stabbing,
and piercing sensations, pleasure, one may feel the sensation of clothing or jewelry touching the
missing limb, other experience their limb feeling as though it is still attached and functioning
normally, and lastly patients can experience sensations of numbness, tickling, or even a cramping
sensation (Scheinberg,

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Cast Iron And...
INTRODUCTION
Even though the actual condition is much more complex, wrought iron, cast iron and steel can be
thought of alloys made of iron and carbon.
Iron is basically extracted from natural ores iron oxide (FeO). Iron oxide heated to high
temperatures become iron.
FeO + C в†’ Fe + CO
We get pig iron from this process which is not pure form and includes Iron carbide and material is
made hard along with brittleness.
CAST IRON
Cast iron is produced by remelting pig iron with some amount of scrap iron. It is remelted by
blowing air into the molten mass of two until the carbon content is between 2.40 and 4.00 percent.
Thus contemporary cast iron is formed which exists in two forms : grey cast iron and white cast
iron.

WROUGHT IRON
Wrought iron is produced by reprocessing cast iron. The strength limitations of cast iron were
gradually overcome by the development of a process called puddling . Puddling involves reheating
cast iron and manually mixing air in the molten form. Due to its nature, the process could only
produce small volumes at a time. The material produced by this method has high tensile strengths
and was much more ductile than cast iron. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Safe Injection Sites Case Analysis
The outcome of the Supreme Court s decision in 2011 has created an avalanche of various
legislation and reactions from all over Canada. Two federal Canadian governments have been
involved in the aftermath of the Court s decision, the Conservative government led by Stephen
Harper, and the Liberal government led by Justin Trudeau. Both have taken drastically different
approaches to the issue of safe injection sites. Harper made his view clear when he passed
legislation in response to the court s decision. Trudeau s liberal government is in progress of
investigating the best way to amend legislation for Canada s interests on whole. Not all Canadians
agree with the Court s decision, and both the government and the public have responded to the

Supporters of the facilities would argue it was a step in the right direction, and that the
Conservative legislation passed in 2015 was a major setback. On the other hand, those who oppose
the safe injection sites completely will be sure to make it as difficult as possible for future sites to
open around the state. The tensions between judicial and executive governments in Canada is not
new, and the balance of powers within the state represents the Canadian democracy. The
controversy is not over, and it is in the Liberal government s hands to see what the next step will be

The Transportation Industry Does Not Have A Great Impact...
Transportation is an important sector that drives economic activities within and outside the state.
Although transportation as a sector does not bring in significant revenues to the economy of
Arizona, it does assist the smooth operation of other industries such as manufacturing, tourism,
agriculture and mining. Without roads, rail, and airports, it would be difficult to move goods and
services from one part of Arizona to another. Arizona s transportation industry does not have a great
impact on its economy because the state is largely used as a transit hub. More than half of the
freight that comes into Arizona originated from outside, rests for some few days and moved to their
destinations in other states. This means that the Arizona state government can only gain relatively
small revenues from the freight may be in the form of storage charges, repackaging, and
accommodation for truck drivers. The remaining 50% of freight is intra state implying that no
money is brought in from outside Arizona. Transportation sector acts as a vital factor in attracting
investors because modern businesses critically examine the transportinfrastructure before deciding
whether to relocate or not. For instance, manufacturing companies depend on well established road
and rail network to move large volumes of bulk freight. Some also rely on the trucking to move
containerized freight on highways with low congestion levels.

Statute Of Limitations In Criminal Law
Across the United States, many criminal courts have created a rule known as statute of limitations.
Statute of limitations sets forth a time limit to raising a legal issue in order to not only maintain
the integrity of evidence gathered for the trial, but to also protect people from being harassed about
a crimethat was never tried a long time ago. In order to begin a criminal case within statute of
limitations, a prosecutor must bring forth formal charges against a defendant within a specific
amount of time after a crime is first discovered by law enforcement. The amount of time that a
prosecutor can file criminal charges against a defendant depends on the crime s classification
under the federal or state criminal code. Because of the different classifications of crimes in
criminal codes, there are several forms of time limitations that prosecutors should know before
deciding to file criminal charges against a defendant.
The first type of offense is known as an infraction. In the criminal code, infractions are crimes that
carry a punishment of paying a fine ( Felonies, Misdemeanors and Infractions: The Differences ,
n.d.). Once law enforcement discovers this type of offense, the prosecutor is given exactly six
months to file charges against the defendant ( Time Limits for Charges: State Criminal Statutes of
Limitations , n.d.). Some examples of infractions can include citations for parking violations,
running a red light, and speeding.
The next type of offense is known as

City University School Bench Analysis
There is an old wooden bench that sits directly outside of my building. The vivid
green color of the bench is only a mask with which to conceal its more insidious nature.
The bench is in fact a devourer of dreams, an enemy of ambition. It serves as a perpetual
trap for the poverty stricken and disenfranchised. Its victims spend hour after hour on the
bench: smoking, drinking, stealing and dealing. Sadly, over the years many of my friends,
people I grew up with and even some family members have joined its ranks sitting idly as
time, opportunity and life slowly disappear. All too often it appears that the only way to
leave the bench are in handcuffs or a body bag. However, I found an alternative way out.

Value Analysis
VALUE ANALYSIS
THE CONCEPT OF VALUE
The value of a product will be interpreted in different ways by different customers. Value is
subjective. Just as beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, value is highly dependent upon
perspective. Frequently, the analyst will discover that the different perspectives will lead to
conflicting definitions of value. But usually its common characteristic is a high level of
performance, capability, emotional appeal, style, etc. relative to its cost. This can also be expressed
as maximizing the function of a product relative to its cost:
Value = (Performance + Capability)/Cost = Function/Cost
Value is not a matter of minimizing cost. In some cases the value of a product can be increased by
increasing its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is not an absolute rule, but rather an observation of the consumer products market. Few people
purchase consumer products based on performance or the lowest cost of basic functions alone.
When purchasing a product it is assumed that the basic function is operative. The customer s
attention is then directed to those visible secondary support functions, or product features, which
determine the worth of the product. From a product design point of view, products that are
perceived to have high value first address the basic function s performance and stress the
achievement of all of the performance attributes. Once the basic functions are satisfied, the designer
s then address the secondary functions necessary to attract customers. Secondary functions are
incorporated in the product as features to support and enhance the basic function and help sell the
product. The elimination of secondary functions that are not very important to the customer will
reduce product cost and increase value without detracting from the worth of the product.
The cost contribution of the basic function does not, by itself, establish the value of the product.
Few products are sold on the basis of their basic function alone. If this were so, the market for no
name brands would be more popular than it is today. Although the cost contribution of the basic
function is relatively small, its loss will cause

Since civilized society was created, the factor that has organized society the most is responsibility.
Responsibility is the bond that ties people with their obligations towards others around them. For

2. Condition for an Ideal Niche Market. The first condition for a niche market is ideal is if the
market is large enough to be profitable for businesses. The fact that the niche market s size is too
small to offset the cost to the business. In this case the exploring a niche market have no meaning
for business anymore. Secondly, niche markets have to grow potentially. Once businesses have
chosen a niche market, the growth of niche markets synonymous with the growth of the company.
In fact if holding a niche businesses can not afford to expand business will bring a lot of risks, no
assurance market segment that will not shrink. The third reason is niche market is not ideal
anymore to exist due to too many competitors. Even though the opponent is not too strong a threat
to enterprises pie will become less tasty if it is divided for too many people. Once you have
identified a niche market to satisfy all three conditions, then on the 4th reason, it now needs to do is
to determine their ability to meet that segment or not. If the potential of the small businesses that
require large customer, the exploit that niche will become meaningless. The last thing. whether the

Mehta s Second Justification For Assigning Teachers
Mehta s second justification for characterizing teachers as a semi profession is teachers
ineffectiveness in acting as guardians of the public good . For instance, because many other
professions were increasingly perceived as more interested in protecting their members than in
improving their practice, educationhas been unable to convince the public that a specialized body
of knowledge is required for teaching, authority, more than most professionals depends on a
perceived commitment to helping their students. (Mehta 2013:122). Consequently, it has also
engendered a diminished protection of monopoly status and more market control. This is an
issue because teachers are the ones that are truly making recurring change happen in society.
One of their most difficult tasks is the challenge of setting standards for practice because the
growing fiscal state, fiscal responsibility and investor pressure has engendered more state and
capital control. The growing size of the organizations in which many professionals may work in
has engendered greater stratification in the division of labor within the professions (Mehta
2013:122). Therefore, teachers are not able to have a say in their own field does not empower
them towards their success and the success of those who matter most, the students. For example,
when it comes to teacher hiring and evaluations, a very low percentage (18 33%) of faculty feel
that they have some sort of influence over the array of different schools

Forensic Nursing Research Paper
Forensic Nursing: A bridge between medicine and law Although there are a vast number of nurses
in the world, only a fraction of them are forensic nurses. Forensic nursing is a nursing field with sub
specialties that focus on nursing practices that care for victims of violent crimes, such as sexual
assault, at the clinical and legal level. Forensic nurses bring together medical practices and the
justice system in making sure that the evidence has not been unintentionally tainted. In a courtroom

One of the main reasons why there may not be more forensic nurses than there could be is that the
topic of forensic nursing is not one that someone thinks about when they think about nursing in
general. By protecting the evidence and serving as witnesses when needed forensic nurses truly
serve a major role in bringing together medicine and law to get justice for the victim. The
investigation...prior to surgical intervention or other life saving measures is essential to preserve
the image and description of injury before it is lost through a sea of wound cleansing antiseptic,

Unethical Advertising In Fast Food
Companies utilize many different techniques to unethically advertise their food towards
consumers. It s incredible what companies are able to get away with! Food can be unethically
advertised in a variety of different ways. Fast food restaurants are notorious for doctoring the way
their food looks in advertisements to wrongfully reflect how it actually looks when purchased by a
consumer. It is also extremely unethical when junk foodproducts or unhealthy fooditems are
advertised towards obese people, or people with eating issues, and young children. It s important to
review the different types of unethical advertisingthat are utilized and also the laws and regulations
that are in place to protect the consumer from the unethical advertising.
Fast food restaurants are one of the biggest offenders when it comes to utilizing unethical
advertising techniques. Companies such as Mcdonald s and Arby s will completely change the
look of their food to make it more appealing to consumers. These companies will often hire
special advertisers to make their food look optimal for the market. A consumer who sees, for
example, a burger in a McDonald s commercial which contains just the right ratio of all burger
components and looks cooked perfectly will be more apt to go to McDonald s and buy that burger,
even if the product that they actually receive is incredibly different than the commercial. These
companies realize that this is the case; their intention is to get customers into their

The Merneptah Stele and Early †Israel’. Essay
The mention of Israel as a people rather than a region in the Merneptah Stele identifies them as an
important socioeconomic entity and therefore a political threat to a hegemonic Egypt. The
resilience of the people Israel was established through a segmented tribal coalition, formed as a
religious and social identity that attributed to their survival in the turbulent times of the early 12th
century .
The inclusion of Israel in the Merneptah Stele demonstrates the importance of these people. It was
not in the traditions of the Egyptian scribes to mention an entity that was considered socially
inferior or of little importance in the political environment of the era. Poetic licence and propaganda

This view contradicts the theory of seed meaning grain so although appearing to be a sound
hypothesis relies too heavily on hyperbole and does not fit with Israel as an established
socioeconomic entity that posed a threat to Egypt.
We may ask the question of why a group of people that were perceived as a hill dwelling rural
sedentary group of agriculturalists threatened the power of hegemonic Egypt. From a geopolitical
perspective Egypt s agenda was to control the coastal highway that included Ashkelon, Gezer and
Yanoam to fortify military strongholds and control the trade route. Israel situated in the hill country
posed an autonomous threat, as had the other city states so it stands to reason it needed to be
conquered to fulfil the Merneptah s campaign goals. It must also be pointed out that it was not
unusual for unrest and rebellion to occur when a new ruler came to the throne. Vassals would have
used this opportunity to test the governing body and try to extricate themselves from the yoke of
the oppressor.

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Composite...
I.INTRODUCTION
A
n aeroplane is acted upon by a few forces in the sky: Lift, Drag, Thrust and Weight. It counters the
force of gravity by using either static lift or by using the dynamic lift of an airfoil. A composite
material is a material made from two or more constituent materials with differing physical or
chemical properties that when joined together, produce a material with characteristics different
from the individual material. The individual component remains separate and unique from the
finished structure. There are a few types of currently available composite materials, and they
include carbon fibre, fiber glass and fibre reinforced matrix systems. Almost all new aircraft these
days include some composite material into their designs. The most common composite material that
is used in aircraft is fiberglass. Other composite materials used includes Kevlar, which is now
replacing glass fibers. Composite materials had been used commonly since ... Show more content

Although aeroplanes go through very stringent checks before flying, more time is needed to
check when it is made with the composite material. As composite materials do not break easily,
it is hard to differentiate if the interior structure has been damaged at all. Hence, it requires
extensive inspection techniques for detection. In contrast, for traditional materials like
aluminium, due to its nature, it bends and dents easily. [6] Therefore it is quite easy to find out
if there is any structural damage. Based on experience, an aircraft would be grounded for a few
days to repair on the composite material while only a few hours would be needed for a traditional
metallic part. Moreover, repairs can be much more expensive when a composite surface is
damaged. Also, composite repairs are more prone to human error than metal repairs since the
quality of composite repair is highly dependent on the process

54.3 percent of murder victims were killed by someone they knew (acquaintance, neighbor,

this is logically the case in the Verbermockle murder mystery. After allegedly finding Mrs.

would have been able to hear this loud bang in her own home. Any normal person would have
rushed to the scene immediately after hearing the noise, especially if the impact was tough
enough to cause a fracture in the rear of his skull, as the doctor had mentioned. In addition, Mr.
V s body seems to be in front of the sink, implying that he was in front of the mirror at the time of
the impact. Anyone would have been able to react if they saw someone behind them in the
mirror. However, his body is placed as if he hadn t moved a muscle. Though if he saw his wife
behind him, he wouldn t have had any worry of suspicion of an intruder. Most importantly, next to
the body is a broken bottle of cologne or mouthwash that could have been used as the murder
weapon. At the murder scene you can see that the victim has some type of liquid come from the
back of his head, where he was hit at. The bottle was used to hit Mr. V in the back of the head
causing a fracture in his skull while splashing the liquid on him at the same time. Unless the liquid
coming from his head was blood, then bottle didn t splash on him during the attack. We also know
that the attack would have to be fast and swift, as the body seems that he hadn t moved from the

Darwin s Theory On Evolution
Darwin s theory on Evolution Evolution is the belief that all living forms including humans came
from ancient ancestors. Evolution is what makes life possible. It allows organisms to adapt to the
environment as it changes. In Biology, theory of evolution does not tell us how life began on earth,
but it helps us understand how life came into existence, diversified in many forms on earth, and
fossil records. Scientists have many theories on evolution. One of the theories suggests all the
healthy species can reproduce but they do so imperfectly. Small variations can build up over
generations to create dramatic differences in the body form and function of living creature, called
biological evolution. Evidence overwhelmingly suggests that all life on earth is related. Charles
Robert Darwin, an English naturalist and geologist, established that all species of life on earth
have descended over time from common ancestors. In 1859, Darwin released his theory of
evolution in The Origin of Species. Darwin presents his idea that species evolved through process
called Nature Selection. Charles Darwinsays:
Thus, from the war of nature, from famine and death, the most exalted object which we are
capable of conceiving, namely, the production of the higher animals, directly follows. There is
grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed into a few

Why do you want to be a Diamond Darling and what past experiences qualify you to become a
member of this organization?
As a transfer student to Texas A M, I knew I wanted to get involved and join an organization to
enhance to experience of my time in college. I looked into many different groups and stumbled
upon Diamond Darlings by complete accident. After seeing what they do for both the baseball team
and growing as friends, I knew it was somewhere I wanted to be.
I grew up in a small town that was very baseball oriented. Everyone in Farmington lived and
breathed baseball, as did my family. I played softball for 5 years and both of my brothers
dedicated their time to the sport. The best way to show how dedicated the town was, my youngest
brother Coby was actually playing on three different teams when we was nine years old.
Besides a town that loves to play the sport, Farmington is the host to a fairly well known high
school baseball tournament, The Connie Mack Work Series. A tradition that comes with this
tournament is being a host family to the hundreds of players that come to play in this tournament.
For the past 8 years, my family has been a part of this tradition, hosting boys from all over the
United States.
Besides giving these boys a home for a week and being their personal cheerleaders, you have a
unique opportunity to help in the tournament. In the past years, I have worked the parade, sold

My Experience In My Life
As time went by, it seemed to fly faster and faster. Soon, it was the summer between my
sophomore and junior years and I had an abundance of plans for how to spend my summer. One
event stood out compared to all of the others. It would greatly influence my life and shape my my
thoughts to the way they are today. Reminiscing on the events of my past, my journey to the
glamorous mountains of Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexicoto hike for a week is indisputably
the greatest memory of my life so far. Our Boy Scout troop congregated at the Grimes South
Sports Complex at way too early of a time on a Friday morning. Nobody felt tired, however, due
to our excitement for the launch of our trek. We had been preparing for this adventure for over a
year. Our moms took the pictures that are typical of moms, then we left in cars headed for
Kansas City. I was fortunate to be placed in the vehicle that some of my closer friends were in
and we had a blast on the car ride to KC. From there, we boarded a train which would take us to
our destination of Cimarron, New Mexico, the closest form of civilization to Philmont. Travelling
by train was a unique experience. The seats were extremely comfortable and could spin around.
Each seat was situated by a large window that spanned from the ceiling to the floor allowing for a
phenomenal view of the passing scenery. The food on the meal cart was scrumptious. It was
essentially a much more pleasureable plane ride. After about twelve hours, we stumbled

It makes the issuer want to retrieve the bonds before the expiry of the allocated time so as to
resell them at lower interest rates. The issuer reserves the right to return investors principal and
stop interest payment before the maturity of bonds, of course at a higher rate than what the bond
was sold at. Due to this reason, the duration is not applicable to callable bonds.
Similar to this, duration has no applicability in the case of common stocks and real estate. It is
because a common stock is the subject of high risk due to fluctuations in prices. In the event of
stocks, investors will tend to sell stocks any time when their price is higher than prices on the date
of acquisition. The investment in stocks and real estate is made to gain higher returns whenever
their prices increase. Due to this reason, period or maturity term is not applicable in common
stocks and real estate, since their disposal is heavily pegged on the market prices.
b) Describe the way duration is used and how it is adjusted with convexity? The most popular way
in which duration is employed by the investors is to measure the volatility of the bond or any other
financial security. As time progresses, stock prices and yields fluctuate and in most cases, this
fluctuation was not foreseen. Due to this reason, investors usually select a specified period to
measure the performance of securities, which is significant identifying the level of risk associated

Social Class In The Middle Ages
The Middle Ages was a society based on well structured and well defined classes. Once you were
born into one class of the society, you belonged to that class for the rest of your life and there
was little no chances of improving your status. These classes in order from high to low were
King, Nobles, Clergy and Peasants. The Clergy were the religious people in the middle agesand the
peasants were mainly farmers to the land owned by the lord. Clergy ranked up with the higher
classes while the peasants were the lowest class. Clergy, though they weren t considered part of
one of the social classes, were an important part and had and influential role in society, and they
did have a hierarchy of their own (Newman). The class of the peasants included Freemen who
were inclined to a few rights and land, serfs were given no rights, and slaves were bought and
sold. The clergy were the religious people and the rulings of the clergy affected everyone during
the Middle Ages. Following the pope, in order of rank, there were bishops, priests, monks and
nuns. The bishops were accepted in court and normally they were given the same luxurious the
nobles had. The nobles were the highest rank in the middle ages. The priest was not as rich as the
bishops but they were generally the head of the church. Monks were often scholarly and could
read and write in Latin. Monks were clean shaven, but often they shaved a bald spot on the top of
their head as a symbol of humility called a tonsure . Nuns

Behavior And Cognitive Theories Have Both Many...
In this paper, we will insure that both behavior and cognitive theories have both some
similarities and conflicts. Both require learning, however, behavior deals with a stimulus and a
response such as Skinner s experiment with rats and shocks in what is known as Skinner s box
and Pavlov s experiment with dogs and bells. For cognitive learning Piaget gave stages that
humans go through from birth through adulthood. These behavioral methods can be seen in
education upon the child entering school as the teacher deals with teaching children academics as
well as how to cope with society. Vygotsky also believed in the cognitive theory, but he believed
that learning was guided by adults passing down what they had learned to their children not only
in academics but also through cultural backgrounds. Giving children a Godly background will
help them rely on him throughout their educational learning. Not all children learn at the same
pace so it is best to find which behavior pattern they are likely to pattern from and help them
succeed in this behavior. History Defined by the American Psychological Association psychology

Focusing on their identity, culture, and lives growing up, they made stories and poems out of it
in a fun and creative way. Alexie and Barry s lives were very different apart from each other, but
the same effect can be made. They both went through tough and difficult times no matter what it
was, and ended up making the most out of it. The Vertical Hour does not have this in common.
Instead of focusing on her life growing up, it is about her life now and how she is handling it.
This can really compare and contrast the way children handle their lives versus adult s handling
their lives. Of course adults make the tougher and harder decisions in life, and everything they
do can hugely impact them. But children start the base of their own lives before they become
adults, and this ultimately shapes them. No one can be an adult without first being a child. This
is very obvious, but not in a certain way. Before growing up and being responsible, children have
to make dumb and stupid decisions. Alexie barely wrote about this and Barry definitely did not.
But this is a fact, in order to learn from mistakes, we have to make these mistakes. Otherwise we
would eventually just keep repeating the same mistake. Learning from them is what moves us past
them and truly grow up. Nadia, in The Vertical Hour, learned from her mistake of quitting being a

Roe V Wade Essay
In 1973, the Supreme Court legalized abortion in the Roe v. Wade case. The law of abortion is
important because it has to do with the decision of choosing to end the life of an unborn child. It
allows women to decide whether or not they are prepared to carry a child inside of them over the
course of nine months. Over time there has been a lot of debate on whether or not a woman
should be allowed to make this decision, and on certain restrictions that should be applied to these
cases. In the past decades there have been many court cases and laws that have either supported
pro life groups or challenged them. Roe v. Waderemains one of the most prominent cases
regarding abortion in the U.S due to the fact it was so controversial and impacted the lives of
many american woman. The case transpired in Texas, a state which outlawed any form of
abortion unless a mother s health became endangered. Norma McCorvey, famously known as

a form of legal abortion in Texas with no luck which lead her to two lawyers who could help

Some Keep The Sabbath Going To Church

Some keep the Sabbath going to Church 236
In the poem Some keep the Sabbath going to Church, the theme is that there is more than one way
to get to Heaven(1, 1668). The persona suggests that this is true because they still have a
relationship with God; they just worship differently than what is accepted by society. In the line
that reads, And an Orchard, for a dome, Dickinson uses imagery to paint a picture for the reader(4,
1668). The image is an orchard of trees that provides her with a safe place for worship instead of the
traditional church sanctuary. She is suggesting that nature, the things unspoiled by humankind, is
whatone really needs for worship and gaining a relationship with God. The practices that many
religions believe have to be performed are unnecessary because God is with you all the time and
not just when you are in church. It is just as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the first line of the last stanza she writes God preaches, a noted Clergyman (9, 1668). This is
inferring that she gets her spiritual food directly from God; there is no need for a middle man.
There is a practice used by a well known religion that a person needs to confess their sins to their
priest in order to be forgiven of them and made new. This is another way that a middle man is
used in religious practices. The Bible reads no one comes to the Father except through me (John
14:6). Dickinson is going by the words of the Bible instead of the words of mankind. The final
two lines of the poem read So instead of getting to Heaven, at last I m going, all along (11, 1668).
The connotation of these words relay to the reader that along with all the church goers she, the
one who exercises her own, individual beliefs and practices, will be right there with them going
to Heaven. It s almost as if she is obnoxiously poking at the religious people of her time proving

Christianitywas by far the superior religion, and they strove to convert Africans. One kingdom

in the fact that Christianity had come to Kongo not through conquest and forced conversion, but
through the voluntary conversion of JoГЈo I. Despite this achievement, though, the Church more
the Kongolese had to practice Catholicism exactly as the Europeans did. With the coming of Dona
Beatriz Kimpa Vita, who claimed to be possessed by Saint Anthony, this conflict would become
more apparent than ever before. Though the Capuchins succeeded in having Dona Beatriz burnt at
the stake, they failed in their ultimate goal of fully converting the Kongolese to their form of
Catholicism.
The knowledge of Catholicism displayed by the Kongolese was impressive. Though many
Europeans wondered about their penchant for such things as sacred stones and ancestors graves...
they never doubted that the

Analysis on Conversation Features. Differenfes Between...
INTRODUCTION The purpose of our project is to find and analyze conversational features and
discover if there are any differences between American and British English. In order to achieve
our aim, we have selected as a corpus two chapters of distinct TV series: The first one from the
American series ‒Six Feet Under‒ and the other one from the British series Teachers. Our
corpus contains approximately 12000 words, each script having around 6000 words. Both series
belong to comedy genre, with adult characters of similar age and social status. Both series reflect
the real use of language in their respective societies. They were released in similar dates, between
2001 and 2002. Six Feet Under is a black comedy drama of a group of people, who... Show more

6. Conversation employs a vernacular range of expressions It usually takes place in an informal
context. That is why contractions, double negation, and use of extended forms stated as
incorrect by the prescriptive grammarians can be found. Also in this group would be included
regional dialects. 2 ANALYSIS In this part we are going to analyze the two scripts we have
chosen. We have counted and classified the conversational features. In order to support the
results, some tables are included. Both texts have similar characteristics, so we have explained
each feature showing some examples taken from our corpus. 1. Conversation takes place in a
shared context Speakers share a lot of contextual knowledge in conversation. It is marked
grammatically by a very high frequency of pronouns (as contrasted with a very low frequency of
nouns), deictic words, substitute ellipsis and pro forms, and non clausal or fragmentary
components such as inserts. The most remarkable feature is the ellipsis (signaled here by О”). This
feature is a way of simplifying grammar through omission. We have distinguished three types
according to the place of occurrence they have in the sentence. Initial words substituted by initial
ellipsis (also called situational ellipsis) can be easily understood from the situational

The United Relations Between India And Indian Immigrants
Abstract: History of independence has involuntarily caused a change noticeable in the rise of
immigration and immigrants in a country where development, prosperity, independence echoed and
still echoes in the hearts of millions. This paper calls for an approach to determine and understand

and impact on India and Indian immigrants is formidable. An exigency of cure highlight in the
aspects of misery faced by such immigrants and the asylum rules, the bilateral agreements to the
treaties in regard to international standards, who are and will be putting up with such twin
difficulties. A study in the light of migrant misery and laws, with solutions drawn, would suffuse
such disparity.
Key words: Indian migrants; gulf corporation council; Indo Saudi bilateral agreement; migrant
challenges; asylum laws. Biographical notes: Maitreyi Kannur is a student at M.S Ramaiah
College of law, pursuing a five year undergraduate integrated law degree. She aspires to work in the
field of international immigration in the near future and is keen on analysing and enforcing better

Cuartin Creating Art Analysis
As an artist, I exemplify innovation and continuous improvement because it is absolutely
essential to my work. Drawing materials are often pricy and I cannot afford to pay for such
specialized items, so I must form an alternate solution from what I have. My innovation can be
seen when I create makeshift graphite blenders from copy paper and pallet knives from plastic
utensils. Moreover, I like to experiment art with different mediums. I have drawn on cardboard
with only white and black markers, splashed charcoal sketches with water, formed giant feathered
wings sculptures from paper scraps, and even pieced together a sculpture out of battered metal
eating utensils. By blending my imagination and these unique materials I form innovative original
works. Moreover, I continuously seek improvement in myself as I draw and sketch.... Show more

However, artistic talent does not come naturally. I have honed my skills over my entire life,
gaining layers and layers of knowledge similar to how a painting becomes more detailed with
additional layers of paint. When I create a piece of work, it can appear finished at first. However,
when revising it later, it seems unfinished and lacking in textures and details. If I add more paint
layers to fix certain aspects, it becomes a better piece as a whole. Even some subtle touches of
paint can dramatically improve a piece of art. My artistic talent has also developed like this. Just
when I thought that I learned everything I could about a certain area of art, I realize that I can
always learn more; even little snatches of information make me a better artist as a

John Locke
The enlightenment era arose in the modern cultural ideology of the 18th century, as ideas among
philosophers had a widespread effect among the society. The age of enlightenment, in western
society, projected the rejection of traditional Christianity, western philosophy, intellectual advances,
scientific, and cultural life, government legitimacy and authority. Upon the enlightenment period
multiple philosophers emerged, the individuals arose to leading figures using reason to understand
all aspects of human life. The motivations for the enlightenment came primarily from the
Englishmen, John Locke. John Locke was a philosophical influence in both political theory and

This ideology is embraced during the French Revolution as before the revolution, French society
was grounded in the inequality of rights, among the citizens. (Spielvogel578) The French were
divided into classes, having no voice among the three estates, leading to the national assembly. The
national assembly, influenced by John Locke s ideology of rejecting royal reign superiority,
created the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen. Locke s argument of revolution
against tyranny was accepted to bring reasonable rule to the nation and citizens. The same liberalist
view of overthrowing of ruler is seen during the napoleon rule. Benjamin Constant published The
Principles of Politics advocating for the regulations of the generals will of the individuals liberty,
distinguishing between sovereignty, authority, and individual freedom, right before Napoleon s
final defeat. (Primary Sources 342)
Many of John Locke s ideas were input into the Declaration of Independence, as his primary words
life, liberty and instead of property, the pursuit of happiness, are the basis of the American
Constitution and Declaration of Independence. Locke s arguments concerning liberty influenced
the works of James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, as his Second Treatise is
imitated in the Declaration of Independence. When the founding fathers adopted the resolution for

The New Addiction- Smartphones
Today Teenagers of the world have a new addiction. This new addiction is known as smartphones.
Teenagers between 15 17 nowadays are using smartphones without limits. Everywhere you turn you
see teens bending down or swiping or clicking their phones screen or sleeping with their
smartphones under the pillow. Day after day smartphones are becoming more central to teenagers
lives. A smartphone could be well defines as a portable phone that has additional functions parallel
to personal digital assistance devices. Smartphones simplify communication and offer fast and easy
access to almost every single information needed in teens everyday life. But the fact the
smartphones took place over other devices such as cameras, clocks, library books, and computer
games make them more and more important, which also makes teens dependent to them. The
benefits could be severely undermined if mishandling and over use are not kept in check and under
controlled. Although older teenagers would disagree their use of smartphone should be monitored
by parents, because smartphone are distracting teenagers, causing them health problems, in addition
to encouraging them sexually. Teenagers are being distracted by their smartphones in many
different ways, that s why the use of them should be monitored by parents. To illustrate, texting,
chatting, tweeting, playing and watching videos on YouTube are enjoyable activates that many
teens choose to do during their spare time. However,

sychChildren s Imaginative Play: A Descriptive Psychology Approach
Charles Kantor, Ph.D. Abstract
The significance of children s imaginative play is presented from the perspective of Descriptive
Psychology and in particular Ossorio s Dramaturgical model of persons. The fluidity of
imaginative play, the imitation of and creation of social practices and options within play as well as
the opportunity to switch roles and act according to reasons of another, contribute to the
development of judgment. The observer critic role emerges during imaginative play as children
produce, direct, and enact their dramas. Within these scenarios, children develop competence and
eligibility to be not only status assigners but also self status assigners. During ... Show more content

The self and self concept The psychoanalytic theorists (Freud, Erikson) see children playing out
negative emotions in a safe context. Children are attempting to regain control in situations of
conflict. Mead stresses the importance of role playing in children s play, which activity
contributes to a child s sense of self (Verenikina et al, 2003). Erikson (1963, p.240) in describing a
young client struggling with the wartime death of his father, a pilot, illustrates the healing value of
play: ...he was observed swooping down a hill on a bicycle, endangering, scaring, yet deftly
avoiding other children.... In watching him, and hearing the strange noises he made, I could not
help thinking that he again imagined himself to be an airplane on a bombing mission. But at the
same time he gained in playful mastery over his locomotion; he exercised circumspection in his
attack, and he became an admired virtuoso on a bicycle.

Advances in Descriptive Psychology Vol. 9
This description of a young boy playing imaginatively illustrates elements that theorists over the
years have attributed to the value of play. His role play was distinctly social as others witnessed
his attack, and his actions increased his stature, his prestige among his friends. His ability to handle
the bike, his cognitive strength, circumspection in his attack , as he swoops down the hill, is noted
as well. His self esteem increased to the extent that he

Inventory Systems Paper
Inventory Systems Summary
Inventory control systems are used so that companies can track materials or products. Before
technology was so readily available, employees of companies had a harder time tracking
inventory. Today one can go into a large retailer and ask an employee to check if an item is in
stock and all the employee would have to do is check a little hand held device. The four types of
inventory systems that Team A decided to research and discuss were: Advanced Tracking System
(ATS), Perpetual Inventory System, Periodic Inventory System, and Just In Time Inventory System.
Advanced Tracking System (ATS)
Advanced Tracking System, or ATS, is a system that operates standalone or front end that interfaces
with almost any ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is also well suited for the type of industries where there isn t much processing to do, so the
inventory exists at only one level (for sale) rather than at three levels (raw materials, work in
progress and for sale) (Kulkarni, 2010).
Periodic Inventory System A periodic inventory control is a system with no continuous record of
changes. Inventory is only tracked periodically instead of per the transaction. At the end of a
specific period, usually an accounting period; quarterly or monthly, the ending inventory is found
by a physical count. The cost of each item is computed and deducted from the sum of purchases and
the beginning of the inventory to calculate cost of goods sold (Business Dictionary, 2010). The
periodic inventory system keeps the inventory balance at the same value that it was at the beginning
of the period. The inventory level is not updated after purchases, for accounting purposes; this
system uses an account called purchases at the end of the period, rather than debiting inventory.
Just In Time (JIT) Inventory System
Just In Time inventory system known as JIT is one of inventory systems used in companies to
deliver a finished product to customers quickly to reduce the overall ordering and inventory
holding cost (Atkinson, 2005). The system proves to be most effective for companies that lose
money for holding a product in its inventory for an extended period of time and

Beet Research Paper
Beet is a tuberous taproot belonging to the amaranthaceae family, subfamily being Betoideae.
Other vegetables found in the subfamily are sugar beet, mangelwurzel, and Swiss chard. The

reason is vitamin K work alongside calcium to boost the strength in your bones. And for people who
suffer from morning sickness Vitamin K can help with that.
Beet greens are a good source of phytochemical compound, glycine betaine. The property found in
betaine have the ability to lower homocysteine levels in the blood. Homocysteine a highly toxic

The Montessori Method
In order to discuss the suitability of the Montessori Method to the revised primary school
curriculum, one must gain some understanding of both. This essay will briefly explore the revised
primary curriculum, the Montessori Method and finally discuss the suitability of the Montessori
Method in teaching the new curriculum.
The revised Primary School Curriculum (1999) developed as a result of input from the Review
Body on the Primary Curriculum (1990), the National Convention on Education (1994) and the
White Paper on Education (1994). It considers the Philosophical ethos of Curriculum Na Bunscoile

Language
In John Holt s very interesting book How Children Fail (1966 ) he poses the concept that although
children love learning they don t like being thought. He argues children thought in traditional ways
become unintelligent (p56). They strive for teacher approval by focusing importance on getting the
right answer; mechanisms such as reflecting and having an enquiring mind are supressed. Holts
(1966) suggests children had to teach him before he could begin to teach them (p.22), he
emphasises the importance of teachers observing, listening, and encouraging creative ways of
being. This philosophy sits very comfortably with the Montessori Method of teaching. As
mentioned earlier directors must be a guide observing children in their work. The new Primary
School Curriculum calls for this approach in that it promotes the development of children s
capacity for creative expression and response

Willy s Loneliness and Alienation in Death of a Salesman
Willy Loman s feelings of alienation and loneliness are direct psychological results of his
interaction with society and the conditions that are found within it. Although, he does not
necessarily have the ability or allow himself to have the ability to define his feelings as such, they
are still very much a part of his everyday existence. This is evident in his constant bragging and
attempted compensation. He does not feel that he is truly a part of society. Indeed, he is not. Miller
himself seems to be saying that this is not necessarily a bad thing; this society is not that wonderful.
Yet Willy still yearns to be like his brother, Ben, and the other men he sees making... Show more

Even the things he dreams of having for himself and for his family are shallow. He will never
find relief from his search because even if he reaches his goals of modest financial success he
would still be left wanting.
Willy s life teeters between these petty concrete objects and his grandiose verbal projections. In
past, present, and fantasy, Willy expresses himself through clichГ©s and repetitions in a formulaic
chant. However, he achieves neither popularity nor success as a salesman, and he fails as a gardener,
mechanic, husband, father. (Martin 67)
He cannot even achieve small goals. He has no real feeling of self worth, and this lack of self
confidence is reinforced by society and Biff s discovery of Willy s infidelity.
In speaking about his plays, Miller explained, It is necessary, if one is to reflect reality, not only
to depict why a man does what he does, or why he nearly didn t do it, but why he cannot simply
walk away and say to hell with it (Eight ix). In the case of Death of a Salesman, it is Willy s
desperate hope of success that keeps him from committing suicide for so long. Eventually,
however, he gives in to his feelings of depression and ends his life. It is the only viable solution he
sees at this point. In another writing, Miller said, My impulse is

  • 2. Phantom Limb Syndrome Phantom limb syndrome is an extraordinary condition that is caused by amputating a limb or being born without a limb (Flor, 2002); This condition affects approximately 80% to 90% of patients who have had a limb amputated (Flor, 2002). The first documented case of phantom limb syndrome was in the mid 16th century (Nikolajsen Jensen, 2001). The description was given by a French military surgeon by the name of Ambroise ParГ© (1510 1590) when he noticed that some of his injured patients would express that they were experiencing extreme painin their missing limb (Nikolajsen Jensen, 2001). He studied and wrote down the characterizations of this post amputation state and attempted to create different models to explain how the phantom pain was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Phantom limb syndrome and post amputation pain is far more common in adults than in children, this would be related to the brains rate or ability to regenerate. A child brain is going to repair much quicker than an adult, as their brains are still in rapid development (Scheinberg, 2016). Other factors can play a part and may increase the chances of a patient experiencing this condition, and some of them include: preamputation pain in the limb that was amputated, a blood clot that formed in the amputated limb, a preamputation infection, previous damage to spinal cord or peripheral nerves that supplied the affected limb, traumatic amputation, and the type of anaesthesia that was used during the operation (Scheinberg, 2016). Nikolajsen and Jensen (2001) state that in paediatric amputees, it was found that most of the children who were experiencing phantom pain, also expressed feeling pain before the operation. The symptoms that occur in amputees/people born without a limb can differ slightly, but all the symptoms are experiences in a limb that no longer exist (Scheinberg, 2016). The symptoms of phantom limb syndrome include; shooting, stabbing, and piercing sensations, pleasure, one may feel the sensation of clothing or jewelry touching the missing limb, other experience their limb feeling as though it is still attached and functioning normally, and lastly patients can experience sensations of numbness, tickling, or even a cramping sensation (Scheinberg, ... • 3. What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Cast Iron And... INTRODUCTION Even though the actual condition is much more complex, wrought iron, cast iron and steel can be thought of alloys made of iron and carbon. Iron is basically extracted from natural ores iron oxide (FeO). Iron oxide heated to high temperatures become iron. FeO + C в†’ Fe + CO We get pig iron from this process which is not pure form and includes Iron carbide and material is made hard along with brittleness. CAST IRON Cast iron is produced by remelting pig iron with some amount of scrap iron. It is remelted by blowing air into the molten mass of two until the carbon content is between 2.40 and 4.00 percent. Thus contemporary cast iron is formed which exists in two forms : grey cast iron and white cast iron. (source: http://cast iron radiator.com/cast iron radiator.jpg) WROUGHT IRON Wrought iron is produced by reprocessing cast iron. The strength limitations of cast iron were gradually overcome by the development of a process called puddling . Puddling involves reheating cast iron and manually mixing air in the molten form. Two federal Canadian governments have been involved in the aftermath of the Court s decision, the Conservative government led by Stephen Harper, and the Liberal government led by Justin Trudeau. Both have taken drastically different approaches to the issue of safe injection sites. Harper made his view clear when he passed legislation in response to the court s decision. • 6. The Transportation Industry Does Not Have A Great Impact... Transportation is an important sector that drives economic activities within and outside the state. Although transportation as a sector does not bring in significant revenues to the economy of Arizona, it does assist the smooth operation of other industries such as manufacturing, tourism, agriculture and mining. Without roads, rail, and airports, it would be difficult to move goods and services from one part of Arizona to another. Arizona s transportation industry does not have a great impact on its economy because the state is largely used as a transit hub. More than half of the freight that comes into Arizona originated from outside, rests for some few days and moved to their destinations in other states. This means that the Arizona state government can only gain relatively small revenues from the freight may be in the form of storage charges, repackaging, and accommodation for truck drivers. The remaining 50% of freight is intra state implying that no money is brought in from outside Arizona. Transportation sector acts as a vital factor in attracting investors because modern businesses critically examine the transportinfrastructure before deciding whether to relocate or not. For instance, manufacturing companies depend on well established road and rail network to move large volumes of bulk freight. Some also rely on the trucking to move containerized freight on highways with low congestion levels. Question 2 Arizona depends on the international trade for economic ... • 7. Statute Of Limitations In Criminal Law Across the United States, many criminal courts have created a rule known as statute of limitations. Statute of limitations sets forth a time limit to raising a legal issue in order to not only maintain the integrity of evidence gathered for the trial, but to also protect people from being harassed about a crimethat was never tried a long time ago. In order to begin a criminal case within statute of limitations, a prosecutor must bring forth formal charges against a defendant within a specific amount of time after a crime is first discovered by law enforcement. The amount of time that a prosecutor can file criminal charges against a defendant depends on the crime s classification under the federal or state criminal code. Because of the different classifications of crimes in criminal codes, there are several forms of time limitations that prosecutors should know before deciding to file criminal charges against a defendant. The first type of offense is known as an infraction. In the criminal code, infractions are crimes that carry a punishment of paying a fine ( Felonies, Misdemeanors and Infractions: The Differences , n.d.). Once law enforcement discovers this type of offense, the prosecutor is given exactly six months to file charges against the defendant ( Time Limits for Charges: State Criminal Statutes of Limitations , n.d.). Some examples of infractions can include citations for parking violations, running a red light, and speeding. The next type of offense is known as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The vivid green color of the bench is only a mask with which to conceal its more insidious nature. The bench is in fact a devourer of dreams, an enemy of ambition. Sadly, over the years many of my friends, people I grew up with and even some family members have joined its ranks sitting idly as time, opportunity and life slowly disappear. Just as beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, value is highly dependent upon perspective. Frequently, the analyst will discover that the different perspectives will lead to conflicting definitions of value. But usually its common characteristic is a high level of performance, capability, emotional appeal, style, etc. relative to its cost. This is not an absolute rule, but rather an observation of the consumer products market. Few people purchase consumer products based on performance or the lowest cost of basic functions alone. When purchasing a product it is assumed that the basic function is operative. The customer s attention is then directed to those visible secondary support functions, or product features, which determine the worth of the product. From a product design point of view, products that are perceived to have high value first address the basic function s performance and stress the achievement of all of the performance attributes. Once the basic functions are satisfied, the designer s then address the secondary functions necessary to attract customers. Secondary functions are incorporated in the product as features to support and enhance the basic function and help sell the product. The elimination of secondary functions that are not very important to the customer will reduce product cost and increase value without detracting from the worth of the product. The cost contribution of the basic function does not, by itself, establish the value of the product. Few products are sold on the basis of their basic function alone. • 19. Mehta s Second Justification For Assigning Teachers Mehta s second justification for characterizing teachers as a semi profession is teachers ineffectiveness in acting as guardians of the public good . For instance, because many other professions were increasingly perceived as more interested in protecting their members than in improving their practice, educationhas been unable to convince the public that a specialized body of knowledge is required for teaching, authority, more than most professionals depends on a perceived commitment to helping their students. (Mehta 2013:122). Consequently, it has also engendered a diminished protection of monopoly status and more market control. This is an issue because teachers are the ones that are truly making recurring change happen in society. One of their most difficult tasks is the challenge of setting standards for practice because the growing fiscal state, fiscal responsibility and investor pressure has engendered more state and capital control. The growing size of the organizations in which many professionals may work in has engendered greater stratification in the division of labor within the professions (Mehta 2013:122). Therefore, teachers are not able to have a say in their own field does not empower them towards their success and the success of those who matter most, the students. Food can be unethically advertised in a variety of different ways. Fast food restaurants are notorious for doctoring the way their food looks in advertisements to wrongfully reflect how it actually looks when purchased by a consumer. It is also extremely unethical when junk foodproducts or unhealthy fooditems are advertised towards obese people, or people with eating issues, and young children. It s important to review the different types of unethical advertisingthat are utilized and also the laws and regulations that are in place to protect the consumer from the unethical advertising. Fast food restaurants are one of the biggest offenders when it comes to utilizing unethical advertising techniques. Companies such as Mcdonald s and Arby s will completely change the look of their food to make it more appealing to consumers. These companies will often hire special advertisers to make their food look optimal for the market. A consumer who sees, for example, a burger in a McDonald s commercial which contains just the right ratio of all burger components and looks cooked perfectly will be more apt to go to McDonald s and buy that burger, even if the product that they actually receive is incredibly different than the commercial. From a geopolitical perspective Egypt s agenda was to control the coastal highway that included Ashkelon, Gezer and Yanoam to fortify military strongholds and control the trade route. Israel situated in the hill country posed an autonomous threat, as had the other city states so it stands to reason it needed to be conquered to fulfil the Merneptah s campaign goals. For cognitive learning Piaget gave stages that humans go through from birth through adulthood. These behavioral methods can be seen in education upon the child entering school as the teacher deals with teaching children academics as well as how to cope with society. Conversation employs a vernacular range of expressions It usually takes place in an informal context. Also in this group would be included regional dialects. 2 ANALYSIS In this part we are going to analyze the two scripts we have chosen. We have counted and classified the conversational features. In order to support the results, some tables are included. Both texts have similar characteristics, so we have explained each feature showing some examples taken from our corpus. 1. Conversation takes place in a shared context Speakers share a lot of contextual knowledge in conversation. It is marked grammatically by a very high frequency of pronouns (as contrasted with a very low frequency of nouns), deictic words, substitute ellipsis and pro forms, and non clausal or fragmentary components such as inserts. Drawing materials are often pricy and I cannot afford to pay for such specialized items, so I must form an alternate solution from what I have. My innovation can be seen when I create makeshift graphite blenders from copy paper and pallet knives from plastic utensils. Moreover, I like to experiment art with different mediums. I have drawn on cardboard with only white and black markers, splashed charcoal sketches with water, formed giant feathered wings sculptures from paper scraps, and even pieced together a sculpture out of battered metal eating utensils. By blending my imagination and these unique materials I form innovative original works. Moreover, I continuously seek improvement in myself as I draw and sketch.... Imaginative Play sychChildren s Imaginative Play: A Descriptive Psychology Approach Charles Kantor, Ph.D. Abstract The signiп¬Ѓcance of children s imaginative play is presented from the perspective of Descriptive Psychology and in particular Ossorio s Dramaturgical model of persons. The fluidity of imaginative play, the imitation of and creation of social practices and options within play as well as the opportunity to switch roles and act according to reasons of another, contribute to the development of judgment. His role play was distinctly social as others witnessed his attack, and his actions increased his stature, his prestige among his friends. At the end of a specific period, usually an accounting period; quarterly or monthly, the ending inventory is found by a physical count. The cost of each item is computed and deducted from the sum of purchases and the beginning of the inventory to calculate cost of goods sold (Business Dictionary, 2010). The periodic inventory system keeps the inventory balance at the same value that it was at the beginning of the period. The inventory level is not updated after purchases, for accounting purposes; this system uses an account called purchases at the end of the period, rather than debiting inventory. Willy s Loneliness and Alienation in Death of a Salesman Willy Loman s feelings of alienation and loneliness are direct psychological results of his interaction with society and the conditions that are found within it. Although, he does not necessarily have the ability or allow himself to have the ability to define his feelings as such, they are still very much a part of his everyday existence. This is evident in his constant bragging and attempted compensation. He does not feel that he is truly a part of society. Indeed, he is not.
