Wealth, Wisdom And Weakness Of King Solomon
The Wealth, Power, Wisdom and Weakness of Solomon
Throughout history there have been many different types of leaders. There have been kings, emperors,
pharaohs, presidents, dictators, and tyrants who have led many countries and nations. Rulers can be
beneficial, malevolent, kind, brutal, or completely ineffective. King Solomon was a very rich, wise,
and famous king of ancient Israel. He was the son of King David and Bathsheba. Bathsheba wanted
her son to rule, so David had Solomon anointed king before he died. David s older son, Adonijah,
wanted his father s kingdom and threatened Solomon s throne. So Solomon sent a messenger to kill
Adonijah and his allies, thus securing his throne. Solomon overcame the last potential threats to his
kingdom by killing his brother and his brother s allies. King Solomon then secured his throne by
appointing his friends to high positions of power. The author of the book of Kings, in the Bible, is
unknown, or anonymous. It is likely that during Solomon s reign Israeli history started being written
down. It is also likely that a Hebrew wrote the book of Kings due to a bias in favor of Solomon.
Hebrews had a very positive view of Solomon because he built The First Temple which housed the
Arc of the Covenant, a vital relic to the Hebrew people said to contain the Ten Commandments. It
took him seven and a half years to build this Temple to honor their one, true God. King Solomon s
reign is thought to be circa 965 B.C. to about 927 B.C. As the son of David and chosen heir to the
throne, Solomon was made King towards the end of his father s reign, while David was still alive.
Solomon inherited a very large kingdom from his father.
Solomon accumulated enormous wealth. He controlled the entire region west of the Euphrates and had
peace on his borders...He had a large share in the trade between northern and southern countries. He
established Israelite colonies around his province to look after military, administrative and commercial
matters (Jewish).
Solomon was extraordinarily wise in how he set up his kingdom. He made sure to establish peace with
the surrounding countries so that he could trade with them and gain more profit. He divided his
kingdom wisely so that he could rule

The Care Of Heart Failure Patients Essay
Does the Use of Telemonitoring in the Care of Heart Failure Patients Reduce Hospitalization?
The heart is a vital organ that the body needs in order to survive and according to the Center for
Disease Control (CDC) 5.7 million people in the United States suffer from heart failure (HF) and
about half of heart failure patients die within five years of diagnosis, (CDC, n.d.). Heart failure is the
inability of the heart to pump blood sufficiently in order to meet the body s need. Heart failure is the
main reason for inpatient hospitalization and readmission in adults over 65 years old (Smith, 2013).
Advances in technology continue to change the practice of nursing and healthcare. Telemonitoring is
one major advance in technology that is changing the role and practice of nursing today.
Telemonitoring involves healthcare workers remotely monitoring patient s vital signs daily with the
goal of early detection of deteriorating conditions. This systematic review will present available data
regarding telemonitoring in heart failure patients and hospitalization.

Java Can Be A Machine Artificial Language Essay
Java could be a machine artificial language that s coincidental, class based, object oriented, and

Pulmonary Symbolism Essay
Pulmonary embolism, synonymous with deep vein thrombosis; are important and is a growing public
health problem. Both contribute to the 300,000 600,000 individuals affected by this each year in the
US alone. This condition does not discriminate against age, gender, or race and occurs across all
boards causing morbidity and mortality. When misdiagnosed, unrecognized, or untreated, PE can
cause death quickly; within just an hour. It s fatal in up to 26% of cases (Andrews, 2010). However,
prompt treatment greatly reduces the risk of death. Taking the necessary preventative measures to
prevent blood clots is the key to protecting one s self of these conditions.

In Chapter 27, The New Politics of Consumption: Why Americans Want So Much More Than They
Need, author Juliet Schor states consuming is authentic as it gets in the American culture and the
standard of living has changed in relation to consumerism. Americans need to work longer hours in
order to make money that they are then pressured to spend. Schor describes today s consumerism as
the new consumerism. This can be defined by an upscaling lifestyle norms; the pervasiveness of

them; and the growing disconnect between consumer desires and ... Show more content on

The new consumerism essentially with its increasing aspirational gap, has begun to endanger the
quality of American life. Consequently, there is pressure to keep up with commodity goods and not
worthwhile experiences. Schor claims that Americans did not become greedy out of nowhere, but
instead, The aspirational gap has been created by structural changes such as the decline of community
and social connection and the intensification of inequality... (Schor, P.255, L2, L#2).
A right to a decent standard of living and quality of life rather than quantity of stuff are two of the
seven basic elements Schor argues for a new politics of consumption. Author Sut Jhally stated that a
quality of life survey seemed to reveal that things are not fundamentally connected to goods. It is
primarily social life and not material life that seems to be the locus of perceived happiness (Jhally,
P.248, L2, L#13). The new consumerism involves impulsively reacting to advertisers who create a
desire that we have to keep wanting more if we want to maintain some level of social status. It s a
never ending cycle that economists feel will lead to doom, yet do we really care? Both Jhally and
James Twitchell provides an exchange of ideas and question what happiness truly means in our
society. Jhally presents his theory on this subject by highlighting that Advertising doesn t say that
happiness comes only

Reasons For The Abolition Of The Slave Trade
APF Why was the slave trade abolished in 1807? 16/11/17
As a slave you are property of your owner. Your owner controls where you work, how you work, your
living and eating. Slavery had been around for centuries but by the 1700 s attitudes were beginning to
change.
The slave trade was abolished in 1807, but you must keep in mind that it was only the trade of slaves
that was banned not slavery itself! The members of the Society for the Abolition of the Slave Trade
tactically decided to focus on a campaign to persuade Parliament to ban the trading in slaves. This was
because they felt they were more likely to succeed than if they demanded the abolition of all slavery
throughout the empire. They expected that the complete abolition would continue naturally.
In economy the slave trade had become less important. There was no longer a need for large numbers
of slaves to be imported to the British colonies to work on sugar plantations because there was a world
over supply of sugar. This also meant that British merchants had difficulties re exporting it. Also sugar
could be cheaply bought without the use of slavery from Britain s other colonies. For example, India.
The Industrial Revolutions that were happening in France and England and advances and
improvements in agriculture were benefiting the British economy and provided new sources of wealth
and more efficient production without the need for slaves. Especially as the government began to
realise the costs and dangers of the slave

LaJolla Software recently received a fax from Masahiro Fudaba, a senior Vice President of Ichi Ban

Japanese firms for a joint venture that would permit the company to distribute its famous S 4 supply

More importantly, we must earn the trust of Ichi Ban. In my experience, trust is the most important
aspect of any relationship, whether personal or professional. These issues involved are interdependent
upon one another. If LaJolla Software can successfully apply their knowledge and adapt to Japanese
culture, then we will earn the trust of Ichi Ban. Furthermore, if we earn the trust of Ichi Ban, we can
successfully come to an agreement regarding our joint venture. In this analysis I will, examine the
issues I have described, and provide a solution that will reduce their anxieties, eliminate their fears,
and earn a level of mutual trust. Based on my research of Japanese custom and culture, I have
developed key recommendations that are important for us to consider if we want to earn their trust and
achieve our goal. First, we must be aware of our cultural differences. O Rourke (2010) explains that,
Being culturally sensitive is essential to your success. Considering, most of the transition team has
never been to the United States, we need to make them feel welcome. In order to make them feel
welcome we should consider various questions; how would you feel if we had to go to Japan? Should
we plan out each day for them? Will they give us suggestions as to what they want to do? If we make
them feel welcome by promoting cultural sensitivity, then we will reduce their anxiety. If we are aware
of our cultural differences, then we will

The Expectation Management Of A Parcel Delivery Company
Introduction
This paper will look into the Expectation Management of a parcel delivery company and how to
properly reduce the level of service in order to redefine the company s business model. It will look at
the promises the company makes and if they are realistic and how they will follow through, the
choices it offers it customers and if the too are realistic or sustainable. The intent is to create a tiered
value offering based on the customers communicated service criteria. Based on what a company learns
from the communication of what the customer expects, the company should be able to define its
customer service business model.

In order to make a realistic promise the company must know what the customer expects and its
limitations with providing that level of service or if that is unrealistic request. The company must
communicate with the customer on what their expectations are, so that the company could then
evaluate if that is a feasible feat for the company to achieve, or if the expectations of the customer are
unrealistic. The higher the level of expectation the customer brings, will determine their personal
evaluation of service (Zeithaml, Bitner, Gremler, 2013, p 429); and the higher level of service quality
they expect to received. In order for the customer to believe they received high quality of service their
expectations must be met. In pursuance of fulfilling the customer expectation of service received the
customer must be afforded options or choices related to the service received.
Offer Choices Offering choices to customers, gives the customer more belief that they have control of
the level of service they will receive, and that, that level of service will be met. With a parcel shipping
company, the higher the price the more the customer will expects to have their level of service
achieved. In marketing, customers relate time/money and speed/quality; if a customer perceives that
they are paying more for time or quality they

Rhetorical Techniques In Fight Club

3rd person, the events and life of this character and the battle he endeavors with insomnia and the
suspicions friends that he meets. Tyler Durden comes along when the narrator is in need of a friend
and turns out being a terrible influence, but is his closest friend. It was his idea to start the fight club to
let out frustrations and anger of everyday guys that want to walk into their boss s office and upper cut

Its the bridge that connects one idea to another. All night long I was dreaming I was humping Marla

why was it written in the first place. The narrator claims to have a strong dislike for Marla, that is
reaffirmed in later pages of the book. It was written to show the split of the narrator s psyche. How the
narrator is slowly deteriorating mentally from holding in two personalities and the other one being
strongly destructive. The erosion to his mental stability is also evident with the little tangents that the
narrator takes that often show how out of touch he is. The imagery to foreshadowing connection is not
uncommon in Fight Club, is a strategy that is comfortable for Palahniuk to use to get his point across;
only after you cross a very winding road to eventually get to his point of intent. The intent is so
noticeable when you realize it. You feel stupid you didn t see it before, was just so well

(Body Paragraph: General Information on self devaluation) Now that we are better able to
comprehend self stigma we can focus on the affects that impact patients lives negatively. It is
imperative to note that the discrimination of schizophrenic persons gives birth to self devaluation.
With that said, schizophrenic persons who experience discrimination in his or her life will feel distant
from society, similar to being an outcast or a black sheep. This may be the reason why self stigma
generates lower self esteem and lower self efficacy which drastically lowers quality of life. In
addition, self devaluation leads to a decreased readiness to change and an increased declination of
treatment within the behavior of patients. By increasing our knowledge on the subject and increasing
awareness we can combat internalized stigma. (Body Paragraph: Study(s) done examining self
devaluation) To bring about awareness would require concrete evidence which was done by
generating studies that examines self devaluation over time. In one study, researchers applied a kernel
smoothing method on their cross sectional sample. The purpose of kernel smoothing was to find the
average of patient reported outcomes (PROs) due to circumstances such as varying recording dates
and self stigma scores. From the PROs

Romulus And Remus Belief In Greek Mythology

Comparing Love In Her And Arthur Hiller s Love Story
I ve always had mixed feelings when it came to films about love. For me, the idea of love can be
presented is such a basic way it becomes obvious to what will happen next. Essentially, I get bored
with the same old generic portrayal on what love should look like or be. Spike Jonze s Her and Arthur
Hiller s Love Story was such a refreshing take on how love can come in all forms and doesn t need to
follow a sort of guideline, like every other love film seems to be. It was interesting to view the
contrast in the two films. Though very different, there were many aspects to the plot and the characters

shock and denial saying That s impossible! Shes only 24! . The scene truly displayed how traumatic
this news was on him, and his performance delivered the feelings of sadness and frustration even for
me as the viewer to experience. The end of the film showing the two lovers in the hospital without a
doubt brought out the most of Oliver s emotions. He began crying to Jenny, blaming himself, and
wishing that she wasn t on her death bed. As heartbroken as he was, he had to remain strong and
comfort her in the last moments of her life. Interestly enough, I found the ending of Her to be very
similar to Love Story. Even though Samantha doesn t necessarily die, she has no choice but to go,
leaving Theodore devastated. The reaction Theodore had of Samatha leaving easily shows the pain
someone could feel when they ve lost an important person. Both Phoenix and O Neal displayed this
overbearing emotional time in their lives with great performance

Technology Is The Technology For The Nextgen
Blockchain technology came into existence in 2011 with Bitcoins, the digital cryptocurrency. At the
onset, Bitcoins were used mainly in the darknet and thus developed a shady controversial image. But,
with 15.8 million (Blockchain Info , n.d.) Bitcoins in existence at this moment, they are surely gaining
popularity. It isn t really this crypto currency, but the underlying Blockchain Technology engine has
huge potential in the future. Recently, there is an increasing distrust in the centralized systems like the
Government, banks, other technology companies, etc. This has resulted in disintermediation in
numerous industries like music, healthcare, ecommerce, etc. In this prospective no middle man world,
Blockchain is liking to be the driving force for almost all the transaction based system. Also, with big
companies like IBM, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, etc. investing in research on Blockchain, this
technology is seems to be the technology for the nextGen.
This paper attempts to introduce the blockchain technology and current advances seen in this field.
Also, the paper will cover the prospect of using block chain in the Internet of Things and thus
becoming the next thing . The paper will also attempt in understanding whether Internet of Value aka
Blockchain is really a valuable or not. Introduction To Blockchain Technology:
Blockchain technology, in simple words, is a public peer to peer ledger having the digitally recorded

Order of paragraph: 1st Context, 2nd design principals, 3rd subjective, 4th objective
Intro:
In this report of demonstrating key design principals, I am going to discuss the different design
elements and principals for the 3 websites I have chosen. The first website, which is on Shotover Jet
was created in 2001, compared to my second website which is again Shotover jet, but this was created
in 2014. For my third website I have chosen to use my own website I had designed in 2014, for
Rotorua Adventure Tourism LTD. I will be discussing these three websites by outlining the websites
specific contents and the elements that the website has used and by outlining the subjective and
objective aspects of each webpage.
Context
Discuss technology of time, and how it could have impacted the design. Eg access to computers and
internet speed
Discuss how what was happening in the world could have affected the design, eg recession, people
being aware of global warming, and NZ s clean green image
In the 2001 Shotover Jet website: How did the people advertise, were there lots of design to choose
from, who used websites (making a background of what are you going to say), eg in the 2001 census,
over 37% households had access to internet , compared to in 2013 over 75% of households had access
to internet.
Due to the Lord of the Rings movies and the Rugby World Cups, NZ started to gain a wider audience

Summary Of The Short Happy Life Of Francis Macomber
From Child to Man: The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber
Ernest Hemingway was a great American writer and journalist. Hemingway used a number of
different foils to give insight into his characters and foreshadow events to come in his writings. In
Hemingway s short story The Happy Life of Francis Macomber , a number of critics argue about what
exactly he used to tell the story of Francis Macomber growing from a cowardly boy to a courageous
man. One thing we can t argue about is the fact he did such a wonderful job.
Theodore L. Gaillard, Jr. argues in his journal article, The Critical Menagerie of The Short Happy Life
of Francis Macomber , that he believes that Hemingway used an animal menagerie as a standard
against which to measure and evaluate his human actors (Gaillard 31 32). In Gaillard s journal article.
He says the foil Hemingway used in The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber , are the different
animals that are mentioned in his short story. Before getting to Africa, Francis Macomber only had
experience in spending money, fishing and hunting small animals (Gaillard 32). Francis is described
as a rabbit hare towards the beginning of the story by himself, his wife and Wilson, the hunter. I bolted
like a rabbit Francis says in The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber (Hemingway 4). Francis uses
the rabbit to describe his cowardice when running from the lion he supposed to be hunting. More
specific than this implicitly negative criticism of Macomber is

Walmart Swot Analysis
3.4 SWOT Walmart s supply chain management has proved to be very effective, which has led the
company to success. This case study analyzes the company s strengths and weaknesses, and factors in
what threats they face, as well as what opportunities that they can exploit. 3.4.1 Strengths Walmart is a
very powerful retail brand that represents affordability. Their number one strength is their efficient
supply chain network. They offer Everyday Low Prices and have a consistent level of inventory.

Walmart needs to continually develop effective strategies to withstand the threats of substitutes and
new entrants. And, strategies that address the bargaining power of buyers and suppliers. 3.5.1
Competitive Rivalry The following external factors are the most significant for Walmart to consider
regarding competition: There is a large number of organization in the retail market with a large variety
of retail products and services they provide with high aggressiveness they saw the efficiency of what
Walmart is doing and they copied their supply chain strategy. Thus, Walmart experiences the strong
force of these external factors in competitive rivalry in the retail industry environment. 3.5.2
Bargaining Power of Buyers Walmart faces a low bargaining power of buyer because the large
population of buyers are individuals that buys small purchases that makes it difficult for them (buyers)
to impose significant pressure on retail firms. So, in effect, the bargaining power of buyers is weak in
influencing Walmart and other retail firms. 3.5.3 Bargaining Power of Suppliers Walmart s suppliers
bargaining power is low. Since they used the Vendor Managed Inventory which meant their suppliers
managed their own inventory at Walmart at the price Walmart wants which helps secure the lowest
prices from its suppliers to sustain its everyday low price. Thus, the bargaining

The Toltec Empire
During 750 AD in Central Mexico, The Toltec Empire emerged continuing the Mesoamerican
heritage. Their culture was inspired by the empire before them, the Olmec s. They were believed to be
the people who migrated after the collapse of Teotihuacan. The significance of their existence is
because it serves as the foundation of the Mesoamerican Civilization s culture.
The Toltec people were founded after the collapse of the city Teotihuacan. They spoke Nahuatl which
is the same language as the Aztecs. They were a militaristic aristocracy, but there is little knowledge
about the conquests that they have done because most of their artifacts were destroyed after the

Theories Of Attachment
Attachment is defined as an emotional bond that is formed between a child and an individual that is
developed throughout the child s development. As a human, it is common for us to form emotional
bonds with people we are close with especially to our parents. Most of the studies conducted on the
attachment theory mainly focuses on the attachment between infants and their parents, although
attachments between adults can also occur. Attachment behaviour is not only observed in humans but
also in animals, which is also referred to as imprinting by biologists. This essay will examine the
attachment theory, explore Ainsworth strange situation experiments and discuss how infant attachment
styles affect later development. Early studies on attachment were conducted on animals and one of the
earliest ones was carried out by Konrad Lorenz. His studies eventually led to the discovery of
imprinting, which is defined as the behaviour that takes place during a critical period and involves ...

Learning theory of attachment proposes that infants form attachments based on the provision of food.
In other words, an infant will form attachments to whoever who feeds it. This theory also involves the
processes of classical and operant conditioning because infants form attachments by learning that
some people provide comforts and responses. The more widely accepted evolutionary theory of
attachment states that humans and biologically set to form attachments with others to ensure survival.
The theory also claims that it is care and responsiveness which forms attachment instead of food. To
explain, the greater the response towards an infant s signal, such as crying, smiling and clinging, the
more likely it is to form an attachment with the infant. With complex series of interactions, full
attachment may be formed between the caregiver and the

COMM 440: Gender and Communication
Cydney Linch, Fall 2012
The Disney Princess
Gender seems to be a hot topic in our society; many people feel the pressure to conform to a specific
gender stereotype without really being aware of what they are or their influences on our perception. So
what is a gender role? A gender role is the overt expression of attitudes that indicate to others the
degree of your maleness or femaleness. A common gender stereotype in our culture has been that a
woman s place is as a homemaker, and caregiver, while men are expected to provide for their families.
In today s world women have been able to shed some of the more traditional roles, however the

she never gets up the courage to confront her stepmom or stand up for herself.
I will now properly introduce to you the princess that started it all, the fairest of by far, Snow White.
Disney first released Snow White into the public in the1930 s. What set her apart was her stunning
beauty, something she has no control over, but was born into. Snow white was never seen as anything
more than a pretty face and a sweet nature. She was at the mercy of men, the dwarfs, the huntsman,
and the prince, to save her from an untimely death. Despite the warnings from the dwarfs, and her
current situation Snow went ahead and ate the poisonous apple from the disguised witch. This only
exemplifies Snow Whites weakness, and how easily she gives into temptation. Snow White has a few
talents which include, cooking, cleaning, and singing.
One of the most popular princesses, stayed out passed her curfew, came home missing a shoe, and had
lied to her stepmother as to her whereabouts. Cinderella is a princess that some would say is a rag to
riches story. I mentioned her earlier as being born into wealth, which is true however she was treated
as a servant and reaped none of the benefits. Cinderella is polite, obedient, delicate, and last but not
least beautiful. She lived and tolerated years of abuse from her stepmother and stepsisters, never

Prior to the collapse, Dew and I had joined Bally s gym downtown at 15th and Market. Our goal was
to stay healthy and spiritual. Our minds were focused on the after hustling aspect of life and more into
accepting Islam once we got finished in the game. I would bring a Yusuf Ali Quran with me to the
gym and sit in the jacuzzi and sauna and just read some small chapters until I was ready to leave. My
mind was at peace. I met one Muslim brother who used to sell perfumes who used to drop science on

Overview of the Book What this book provides is a case study about the effects of nuclear radiation on
the environment and the people of Marshall Island. Furthermore, the book addresses the various socio
economic issues arising from the testing of nuclear weapons by the US in the Pacific island between
1946 and 1958 (Barker, 2012). The author has gone to great lengths to discuss how the government of
the US has evaded moral responsibility for exposing thousands of people to harmful radiations. Using
a combination of research, life history, and archival research, Barker has constructed a compelling
history of the dangers of the testing program from the perspective of the Marshallese people and their

In total, sixty seven tests were conducted in Marshall Island starting from 1946 until 1958. These tests
resulted in devastating effects on the lives of the people of Marshall Island. The environment was also
affected adversely because of the radiation. In 1979, the US allowed Marshall Island to become a
sovereign nation. However, agreements were signed that allowed the US to continue the island as a
missile site. It can be noted that Marshall Island consists of over ten thousand small islands spread
over a vast area of the ocean. The US forcefully displaced all the people living in some of the islands
to pave the way for the deadly nuclear tests. In one of these tests, the US exploded the most powerful
atomic device in its arsenal. So powerful were most of these tests that the ensuing fireballs could be
seen with the naked eye from hundreds of miles away. The result was a massive destruction and
contamination of the islands in a scale that had never been experienced in any part of the world. Due
to the dangers facing the people of the island as a result of the radiations, various linguistic themes
were developed. These themes primarily focused on the impact of the tests on the people, their
livestock s, ways of life and the environment (Barker, 2012). The fact that a new linguistic system
emerged is sufficient proof that the tests had profound effects on the people. For example, the

how they earn and sustain credibility over time. Setting the Example is all about execution and action.
It s all about doing what you say. Leaders who are seen as practicing what they preach are more

there are some leadership qualities that need to be improved. One such behavior would be model the

Hiring PMCs: the role of public opinion Domestic public opinion often has a significant role in
determining the extent of a state s military actions , some would argue that public opinion can
constrain a state leader in their decision to go to war or not (O Keefe 2009: 5). Yet, some of the
pressure of public opinion can be alleviated when a state outsources military functions. The public
does not equate the death of contractor with that of a national soldier, as contractors are not directly
associated with the state s military (O Keefe 2009:5). The use of PMCs in the Iraq War allows the
state to avoid what is known as the body bag syndrome , where governments are increasingly
pressured by domestic constituents as death tolls mount (Kinsey 2006: 96). In addition to the ability of
states to avoid the body bag syndrome, the way in which media report on the involvement of
contracted troops further benefits the state as the public disassociates contractors with soldiers. When
the media reports of fallen private soldiers, they are often referred to as contractors, which generates
another response of the public than to the death of a national soldier (O Keefe 2009: 6). The next
quotation from Thomas Pogue, a former Navy SEAL, who has worked for Blackwater illustrates this
point; These forces can be employed without a lot of publicity and that s a very

Abstract
This investigation is aimed to find whether there is a relationship between cognitive empathy and
primary and secondary psychopathy. A correlational design was used, in which the Levenson self
report scale Levenson (1995) and the Reading Eyes Mind Test (Baron Cohen et al., 2001) were
administered to 452 first year psychology students. Major results showed a weak, significant, negative
correlation between primary psychopathy and empathy; there was no significant relationship between
secondary psychopathy and empathy. Concluding lack of empathy potentially correlates with primary
psychopathy whereas secondary psychopathy shows no noticeable significance to empathy.
Assessing the Relationship between Cognitive Empathy and both Primary and Secondary Psychopathy

African American Males And Capital Punishment
African American Males and Capital Punishment We simply cannot say we live in a country that
offers equal justice to all Americans when racial disparities plague the system by which our society
imposes the ultimate punishment. (Senator Russ Feingold, 2003). It has been proven that death
sentencing across the USA is determined by the race of the victim and race of the defendant. In 1990,
there was a report from the General Accounting office which concluded that those who murdered
whites were more likely to be sentenced to death than those who murdered blacks. (Focus, 2003) This
injustice amongst us are because people are scared and don t know. They don t know whether a black
man is pulling out a gun, their phone, wallet, etc. So just to remain safe, they retaliate by killing our
men. Society has grown to function on the fear of black men. Capitalism and the imprisonment of
black people have become profitable. They ve made a big business to just imprison black men. Black
men are inheritably a threat to the capitalist structure of America, it protects their money, their politics,
and their society. James Eagan Holmes, a 26 year old male from San Diego California, is the accused
perpetrator of a mass shooting that killed 12 and murdered 70 people at a Century movie theater in

other and their environment, and the structure and function of ecosystems. To this end, the scale
(spatial, functional, temporal, organizational, etc.) at which we observe nature and the multitude of
environments that comprise it is an extremely important factor in the study of ecology. Dumping
sewage effluent in the middle of a small pond is not going to register even a slight disturbance on a
global or even regional scale , but there is a still massive disturbance to the organisms at the small
scale of that pond ecosystem. Similarly, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Large scale variations in these gradients are easy to observe, like an ecotone transitioning grassland
into desert. Smaller scale variations are harder to detect with the naked eye, and micro variations in
habitat are harder to see still. The physical size of environmental heterogeneity / variation is not
indicative of its importance to biodiversity or its ecological relevance, however, as Hutchinson reveals
in his 1959 paper. He discusses the importance of the mosaic nature of the environment as a
significant contributor to biodiversity. While large scale variations in habitat are certainly important
factors in organismal diversity and are responsible for niche differentiation, smaller scale and even
microscopic habitat variations are arguably just as (if not more) important factors that contribute to
biodiversity around the globe. Because the vast majority of animal species on Earth are physical small,
even the tiny variations in a landscape that define its mosaic nature allow for more numerous and
specialized niche differentiations than larger (and less numerous) land animals can fill . Hutchinson s
mosaic nature postulate was an extremely important breakthrough in modern Ecology, and helped
spawn further research into the importance of examining nature at many different scales microscopic,
macroscopic, and everything in between.
Scale is an extremely important

Why Do People Like To Show Their Dogs
here are many reasons why people like to show their dogs and it is a rewarding practice for individuals
and kennels alike. You might like to enter your dog for obedience trials because he enjoys it and you
are proud of him; you might like the competition element of shows or it may be that you just like to be
around fellow dog owners, comparing your dogs. There are two main categories of shows: a) Pedigree
dog shows requiring you to demonstrate that your dog matches the breed standards set by the kennel
club in which your dog is registered and b) All dog trial and events, irrespective of breed, registration
or heritage where your dog will be judged solely on his ability to perform the activity for which he is
entered.
If you are considering ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Countries such as the USA, Canada, the UK and Australia have kennel clubs which organize events
locally, nationally and internationally. Only pedigrees can be registered in these clubs and participate
in the shows. No crossbreeds are allowed. Kennel clubs outside of the USA place various breeds in
different categories but none of them will recognize crossbreeds or dogs that do not have proper
registration papers.
Make sure that you know the standards set for your breed by the kennel club where your dog is
registered. Read as much as you can about their standards because if you get it wrong, you may be
disqualified from entering or participating in the show.
Visit as many shows and events as you can and observe the adjudicators or judges. Note down
anything the judges say about competitors at the time they have made their selections of winners. If
you know what the judges like you can take special care to train your dog so that he will please the
judges. Naturally judges are bound to make their decision based on the standards that have been set by
a kennel club, but each judge will place their own interpretation on those

American Bullishness In We Were Soldiers
First Part: Americans Bullishness Throughout the rest of time, many young Americans will believe,
due to movies and US written history, that the United States had won the war against Vietnam.
However, to this day, both sides will claim victory in the war. The idea of America s great military
losing to an enemy is indefinitely attempted to be blocked out and washed away. The strategy is not
meant to lie to the American people but rather sustain the idea and nationalism that if a problem
ensues, the US military has the power to defend itself. The film, We Were Soldiers, is expected to
represent the American military dream and win the hearts of all Americans watching it. However, the
movie takes a more realistic view and reveals American soldiers disdain but resilient passion, the ...

friends. Of course, there is not a war story without a crabby old senior enlisted, or salty sailor for the
navy branch. Who s main focus is to win the war, and nothing else, even willing to drag young

prime representation of the American dream, with the southern attitude and religious manners, with
the full family he s fighting for. Colonel Moore was set to be the family man and represent every
father figure of each soldier. Before deployment, he gives the look at you speech that completely
captures the war and the era. Colonel Moore goes through the diversity of the unit, and how their

How Did Hitler Become A Dictator
Who was Adolf Hitler before he became a dictator? What drove him to become the way he did?
Before Adolf Hitler became a dictator and murder, he had another life. He had friends and family that
cared about him. Now what do they think of him after he has done those terrible things to those
people.
Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889, an Easter Saturday evening. Adolf was the fourth child born
to Alois and Klara Hitler. On his birth certificate it says Adolfus, but he was referred to as Adolf. His
father Alois Hitler ruled over his family like a tyrant, often lashing out in drunken rages at his childern
and wife. Adolf Hitler learned at a very young age that the one who weilds the greatest power prevails.

in the arms of a neighbor at the Gasthaus Stiefler, a nearby inn and tavern. Despite their past
differences when thirteen Adolf saw his fathers liveless body he broke down and wept. After that a
few years later Adolf moved around. He finally settled down in Vienna in the beginning of 1909.
Adolf lived in the streets and parks during the warm months. And in the autumn the cold forced him to
take a bed in a dosshouse called the Asylum for the Shelterless. He meet a man named Reinhold
Hanisch and they became good friends.
In December, Hitler moved into a hostel for single men at Meldemanstrasse 27, where Hitler would
stay for the remainder of his three years in Vienna. Hanisch soon joined him and they formed a
partnership with each other. Hitler began to paint things like postcards, pictures, and posters. And then
Hanisch sold them and it made enough money to meet their needs. A couple of years later their
partnership broke up becuase Hitler though that Hanich was spending to much of their profit for

Domestic Violence And Its Effects
Domestic Violence
Domestic violence can happen to anyone regardless of race, age, sexual orientation, religion, or
gender. ( Domestic Violence. U.S.) While signs of physical abuse can be seen if the victim has visible
bruises, there are other forms of domestic violence that are often missed or overlooked. Victims often
live in fear and sadly many times, they fear the person that they love. It has been proven that at least
three women are killed a day by their significant other in forms of domestic violence, in most cases, a
male is their better half. (Catalano), if that does not tell you something then I will. There are many
forms of domestic violence, some abuse can be very noticeable, and others may be hidden very easily
or never even seen. All forms of abuse cause extreme trauma to the victim. According to Sexual
Violence Victimization, Almost one third of women experience physical violence by an intimate
partner in their lifetime (7). And over 80% of women have reported that they have been verbally
abused by their significant other (Shorey, Zucosky, Brasfield, Febres, Cornelius, Sage, and Stuart 289
296). Girls are petrified, and with the massive amount of abuse, roughly 4 million women were found
to have been suffering physical abuse by their boyfriend or husband annually (Black, Basile, Breiding,
Smith, Walters, Merrick, Chen, Stevens). Sexual Assault is one form of domestic violence. Over half
of rapes are made by the ladies boyfriend or spouse, said in

Net Neutrality Argument Analysis
You should take a stand against losing Net Neutrality, you should learn for yourself from an unbiased
source about Net Neutrality, and you should and can contact the FCC and cause a change, it s been
done before. I personally hate jumping on the bandwagon of This is the big thing we must take a stand
against only to later find out that wasn t quite the case and people were getting too enthusiastic and
accomplished nothing. This is not one of those cases.
Despite generating a huge public outcry in 2014/15 and protecting Net Neutrality for the time being, it
has somehow again become an option considered in 2017. I d recommend watching these two videos
below before continuing, and reading the materials and additional videos below afterwards. ... Show

Utilities are not things that we agree upon are required for human life, they are necessities needed to
live as a citizen of the United States. Phone calls and electricity are not required to exist as a human,
but they are requirements to effectively live as an American, and are thus utilities. The Internet is also
something that you need to properly live and interact in the United States, to the same level as
electricity and telephone lines are, and should be considered and protected as a utility.
Erasing net neutrality would stifle innovation, and allows large ISPs to piggyback off of the prosperity
that a previously neutral Internet had. If these rules were in place before Alphabet or Facebook or
Netflix or Amazon existed, it is hard to believe those companies would have been able to secure the
funds to get through the paywall to consumers, which demonstrates that these attempts to destroy Net
Neutrality are little more than an excuse to ask successful companies to pay more and disregard the
ramifications to any possible future companies or the history that made certain companies

  • 2. Wealth, Wisdom And Weakness Of King Solomon The Wealth, Power, Wisdom and Weakness of Solomon Throughout history there have been many different types of leaders. There have been kings, emperors, pharaohs, presidents, dictators, and tyrants who have led many countries and nations. Rulers can be beneficial, malevolent, kind, brutal, or completely ineffective. King Solomon was a very rich, wise, and famous king of ancient Israel. He was the son of King David and Bathsheba. Bathsheba wanted her son to rule, so David had Solomon anointed king before he died. David s older son, Adonijah, wanted his father s kingdom and threatened Solomon s throne. So Solomon sent a messenger to kill Adonijah and his allies, thus securing his throne. Solomon overcame the last potential threats to his kingdom by killing his brother and his brother s allies. King Solomon then secured his throne by appointing his friends to high positions of power. The author of the book of Kings, in the Bible, is unknown, or anonymous. It is likely that during Solomon s reign Israeli history started being written down. It is also likely that a Hebrew wrote the book of Kings due to a bias in favor of Solomon. Hebrews had a very positive view of Solomon because he built The First Temple which housed the Arc of the Covenant, a vital relic to the Hebrew people said to contain the Ten Commandments. It took him seven and a half years to build this Temple to honor their one, true God. King Solomon s reign is thought to be circa 965 B.C. to about 927 B.C. As the son of David and chosen heir to the throne, Solomon was made King towards the end of his father s reign, while David was still alive. Solomon inherited a very large kingdom from his father. Solomon accumulated enormous wealth. He controlled the entire region west of the Euphrates and had peace on his borders...He had a large share in the trade between northern and southern countries. He established Israelite colonies around his province to look after military, administrative and commercial matters (Jewish). Solomon was extraordinarily wise in how he set up his kingdom. He made sure to establish peace with the surrounding countries so that he could trade with them and gain more profit. He divided his kingdom wisely so that he could rule ... • 8. Reasons For The Abolition Of The Slave Trade APF Why was the slave trade abolished in 1807? 16/11/17 As a slave you are property of your owner. Your owner controls where you work, how you work, your living and eating. Slavery had been around for centuries but by the 1700 s attitudes were beginning to change. The slave trade was abolished in 1807, but you must keep in mind that it was only the trade of slaves that was banned not slavery itself! The members of the Society for the Abolition of the Slave Trade tactically decided to focus on a campaign to persuade Parliament to ban the trading in slaves. This was because they felt they were more likely to succeed than if they demanded the abolition of all slavery throughout the empire. They expected that the complete abolition would continue naturally. In economy the slave trade had become less important. There was no longer a need for large numbers of slaves to be imported to the British colonies to work on sugar plantations because there was a world over supply of sugar. This also meant that British merchants had difficulties re exporting it. Also sugar could be cheaply bought without the use of slavery from Britain s other colonies. For example, India. The Industrial Revolutions that were happening in France and England and advances and improvements in agriculture were benefiting the British economy and provided new sources of wealth and more efficient production without the need for slaves. Hemingway used a number of different foils to give insight into his characters and foreshadow events to come in his writings. In Hemingway s short story The Happy Life of Francis Macomber , a number of critics argue about what exactly he used to tell the story of Francis Macomber growing from a cowardly boy to a courageous man. One thing we can t argue about is the fact he did such a wonderful job. Theodore L. Gaillard, Jr. argues in his journal article, The Critical Menagerie of The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber , that he believes that Hemingway used an animal menagerie as a standard against which to measure and evaluate his human actors (Gaillard 31 32). In Gaillard s journal article. He says the foil Hemingway used in The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber , are the different animals that are mentioned in his short story. In 1979, the US allowed Marshall Island to become a sovereign nation. However, agreements were signed that allowed the US to continue the island as a missile site. It can be noted that Marshall Island consists of over ten thousand small islands spread over a vast area of the ocean. The US forcefully displaced all the people living in some of the islands to pave the way for the deadly nuclear tests. Hiring PMCs: the role of public opinion Domestic public opinion often has a significant role in determining the extent of a state s military actions , some would argue that public opinion can constrain a state leader in their decision to go to war or not (O Keefe 2009: 5). Yet, some of the pressure of public opinion can be alleviated when a state outsources military functions. The public does not equate the death of contractor with that of a national soldier, as contractors are not directly associated with the state s military (O Keefe 2009:5). The use of PMCs in the Iraq War allows the state to avoid what is known as the body bag syndrome , where governments are increasingly pressured by domestic constituents as death tolls mount (Kinsey 2006: 96). In addition to the ability of states to avoid the body bag syndrome, the way in which media report on the involvement of contracted troops further benefits the state as the public disassociates contractors with soldiers. When the media reports of fallen private soldiers, they are often referred to as contractors, which generates another response of the public than to the death of a national soldier (O Keefe 2009: 6). A correlational design was used, in which the Levenson self report scale Levenson (1995) and the Reading Eyes Mind Test (Baron Cohen et al., 2001) were administered to 452 first year psychology students. Major results showed a weak, significant, negative correlation between primary psychopathy and empathy; there was no significant relationship between secondary psychopathy and empathy. Concluding lack of empathy potentially correlates with primary psychopathy whereas secondary psychopathy shows no noticeable significance to empathy. Smaller scale variations are harder to detect with the naked eye, and micro variations in habitat are harder to see still. The physical size of environmental heterogeneity / variation is not indicative of its importance to biodiversity or its ecological relevance, however, as Hutchinson reveals in his 1959 paper. He discusses the importance of the mosaic nature of the environment as a significant contributor to biodiversity. While large scale variations in habitat are certainly important factors in organismal diversity and are responsible for niche differentiation, smaller scale and even microscopic habitat variations are arguably just as (if not more) important factors that contribute to biodiversity around the globe. Because the vast majority of animal species on Earth are physical small, even the tiny variations in a landscape that define its mosaic nature allow for more numerous and specialized niche differentiations than larger (and less numerous) land animals can fill . Hutchinson s mosaic nature postulate was an extremely important breakthrough in modern Ecology, and helped spawn further research into the importance of examining nature at many different scales microscopic, macroscopic, and everything in between. Read as much as you can about their standards because if you get it wrong, you may be disqualified from entering or participating in the show. Visit as many shows and events as you can and observe the adjudicators or judges. Note down anything the judges say about competitors at the time they have made their selections of winners. If you know what the judges like you can take special care to train your dog so that he will please the judges. I personally hate jumping on the bandwagon of This is the big thing we must take a stand against only to later find out that wasn t quite the case and people were getting too enthusiastic and accomplished nothing. This is not one of those cases. Despite generating a huge public outcry in 2014/15 and protecting Net Neutrality for the time being, it has somehow again become an option considered in 2017. Utilities are not things that we agree upon are required for human life, they are necessities needed to live as a citizen of the United States. Phone calls and electricity are not required to exist as a human, but they are requirements to effectively live as an American, and are thus utilities. The Internet is also something that you need to properly live and interact in the United States, to the same level as electricity and telephone lines are, and should be considered and protected as a utility. Erasing net neutrality would stifle innovation, and allows large ISPs to piggyback off of the prosperity that a previously neutral Internet had. If these rules were in place before Alphabet or Facebook or Netflix or Amazon existed, it is hard to believe those companies would have been able to secure the funds to get through the paywall to consumers, which demonstrates that these attempts to destroy Net Neutrality are little more than an excuse to ask successful companies to pay more and disregard the ramifications to any possible future companies or the history that made certain companies ...
