2. ARENA
The industry that I want to work in is
the music industry. I want to first start
out artist management in the
alternative genre and then work my way
to marketing and other fields within the
industry. When I feel like I am ready, I
want to create my own label. This label
will be different in the aspects of how I will run things. I want it to be
solely for the artists and getting their music to as many people as
possible to help tell their story and share their art. This label will not be
focused on making me money. I know I will have to make some money
to keep the label running, but I really want the focus to be on helping and
supporting artists that would have never been looked at by a major
label.
3. IDENTITY
I am a unique soul. I really enjoy
doing anything that makes others
happy. I feel like music is my way of
bringing people together and creating
an unknown connection with others. I
am unique because I am very good at
connecting with people and building
strong bonds and friends. This skill
that I have will help me with building a great network for my career. I
also feel like I am unique because I am from a super small town and
started out as an artist. Living in a small town taught me patience
with others and to always listen because you never know what is
happening in someone else life. Being an artist in a small town also
taught me that if you make connections with people, you will have a
support system that will never give up on you.
4. SKILLS
The skills that I have right now are
going to be very different from the
skills I will have after I finish school.
Right now, I have figured out that I am
good with the program excel. I also
have a background in music, so I am
very familiar with the creation and
preforming. I will also be an asset to a future employer for my
networking skills. As I stated in my previous slide, I am really good at
making connections with people. Another skill that I have is I am good
at managing and operating on social media platforms. I also have
great leadership skills. I was captain of my high school dance team,
president of my class for all four years, president of student council,
Spanish club, key club, and vice president of National Honors Society.
So I have been in a lot of leadership positions.
5. PROFESSION
My approach to work is very different
than others. I go to work with a very
positive attitude and am always very
excited. I don’t want to work for money,
I want to work for happiness. Doing
something that I absolutely love is my
ultimate goal and I know that even if I
have a job that isn’t my favorite, I know that it will be bringing me closer
to my goal. That in itself makes me very excited to work and will drive
me to do the best job that I can. I feel like this makes me different than a
lot of other people because a lot of people I talk to just want to do
something for the money and I don’t see how someone could be content
with that. Well at least I couldn’t.
6. CREDENTIALS
I am credible because I have done
nothing that would show otherwise.
With other jobs I have worked, I have
never been late, or have done a bad job.
I know that trust is a very important
thing in the business world, and
especially in the music industry. If it’s
needed, I could ask for multiple
recommendation from previous employers that could show that I am
a great, trustworthy asset to any employer, client, or customer. I will
always assure anyone I work with that my attention is on them and
that I will do everything in my power to aid them in a positive way. I
will never do anything that could harm their business or brand.
7. PROMISE
I will promise that I will do everything
in my power to aid their company in
any way that I can. I will bring
happiness, energy, and creativity into
the workplace. If I work for a label in
artist management I will be sure to
solve any problems that arise and if
there already are problems I will be
sure to find the solution as quickly as
possible. I will promise to be
resourceful, respectful, and
hardworking. I will abide by the rules
and make sure others follow.
8. POSITIONING
An employer should hire me because I
am a hard worker and a positive force
in any work environment. I want my
audience to think that I am a kind
person that cares about everybody. I
also want them to think that I am
professional but not too professional.
I want to be approachable to everyone I meet. I am different than my
competition because I am not working for money, I am working because
of my burning passion for music and the industry. I find that happiness is
not in money, happiness is in the love for what you do everyday, the
people around you, and in life.
9. AUDIENCE
Everyone in the alternative music
industry, loves music, and artists
need to know me. Musicians and
singers are the people who
influences others. Also, major
people in the industry influences
people too. I can find my
audience at concerts and on
social media. I can also find them
in companies throughout the
world.
10. NETWORKING & MARKETING
I will gain the attention of future
employers by having professional, well
developed social media and a website. I
will also catch their attention by having
good recommendations and a
professional résumé. I will create strong
relationships with my audience by
communicating and replying to
comments. I will keep connections with
everyone I come in contact with. I will
publish on brand, professional content
online to provide value. I also want to
keep everyone up to date with concerts I
attend. I will also post anything that has
to do with business.
11. COMPETITORS
I will be competing with Full Sail students
and other business students looking to
go into the same industry that I am. I will
be competing with people like Joshua
Harris. He is an NYU Music Business
student that already has experience in
artist services. I found him on Linkdin.
He doesn’t have a graduation date, but it
says he is still a student. I need to try and
get an internship or start working with a
label or radio station to give me some
inside knowledge on the industry.

12. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The things that I most need to improve
upon is just learning what I need to start.
I need to know more about the logistics
of marketing and management. I also
need to make more connections to help
me stand out from my competition. I
want to find a mentor that is currently in
the industry to help me develop and hone
my professional skills. I need to dedicate a ton of my time to improve on what
I need to to be successful just starting out. To improve these skills I will need
to use my time wisely at Full Sail and research more on my own time. I
recently purchased and rented some books on business to help me excel in
my industry.
13. GOALS
By developing my personal brand I
want to achieve a level of
professionalism that will impress my
future employers and clients. I am
definitely trying to grow my brands
awareness. Because I am also an
artist, I would like to get my brand out
their to everyone to share what I have
created as well. I think if I do it right I
can mix my business and artist
brand. I would like to be known for
both. So for me, developing a
professional business brand and a
professional artist brand will be on
my radar for a long time to come.
