Peris is a commune located in northwest Romania along the Snagov valley. It consists of five villages - Peris, Bratulesti, Cocioc, Balteni, and Burias - situated between the Ialomita River and Lake Snagov. Some tourist attractions in the area include the Hermitage of Balteni, a 17th century monastery built following a prince's dream, and the Scrovistea Palace, once belonging to the Romanian royal family and home to members of the Hohenzollern dynasty.
