This document presents a performance evaluation of routing protocols for low-power and lossy networks (LLNs) utilizing the IPv6 Routing Protocol for Low-Power and Lossy Networks (RPL) and its application in the context of the Internet of Things (IoT). The study analyzes the formation of Destination Oriented Directed Acyclic Graphs (DODAGs) and evaluates critical routing metrics such as Expected Transmission Count (ETX), radio duty cycle, energy consumption, and message reliability. Simulation results indicate that RPL effectively maintains network consistency and low power consumption while optimizing routes within the constraints of LLNs.
