March 8th is International Women's Day, which originated from women's labor actions and protests in New York City in 1857. Louisa May Alcott was an American novelist born in 1832 in Pennsylvania and raised in Massachusetts. She struggled to find work as a woman and supported her family through various jobs like teaching and nursing. Her most famous work, Little Women, was published in two volumes in 1868-1869 and was based loosely on her childhood with her sisters. It became a commercial and critical success and has since been adapted into several films.
This presentation is on William Cowper, writer of Neo- classical age. The first child of Reverend John Cowper and Ann Donne Cowper, William Cowper was born on November 26, 1731, in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, England. and briefly introduced his longest and best work, The Task.

3. LITTLE WOMEN The book was written and set in the Alcott family home, Orchard House , in Concord, Massachusetts . It was published in two volumes in 1868 and 1869 . The novel follows the lives of four sisters – Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy March – and is loosely based on the author's childhood experiences with her three sisters. The first volume Little Women was an immediate commercial and critical success, prompting the composition of the book's second volume titled Good Wives , which was successful as well. The publication of the book as a single volume first occurred in 1880 and was titled Little Women . Alcott followed Little Women with two sequels, also featuring the March sisters, Little Men (1871) and Jo's Boys (1886). There have been several films based in this book. The oldest was directed by George Cukor in 1933. other movie was directed by Mervyn Leroy in 1949 and the last version was directed by Gillian Armstrong in 1994.
