Gertrude Stein was an American writer and poet who lived in Paris for much of her life. She was born in 1874 in Pennsylvania and moved to Paris in 1903, where she lived with her brother Leo and later her partner Alice B. Toklas. In Paris, Stein hosted a prominent literary salon that attracted many artists and writers. She published several experimental works that explored new styles of writing and had a significant influence on modernist literature. Stein died in 1946 in France after a battle with cancer.

This is a presentation about famous people of the past. It was done by 13-year-old students at Front Marítim. They did some slides in small groups and then I put them together but I kept their designs.
Stass Paraskos was a pioneer of modern art in Cyprus. But he was also a significant figure in the British art world of the 1950s and 1960s. As well as teaching at the radical art school Leeds College of Art, he was prosecuted by the British police in 1966 for displaying obscene paintings. The trial was an international cause celebre that led to a change in the law on obscenity and the arts in Britain. Paraskos was the founder of the first art school in Cyprus, the Cyprus College of Art, in 1969, and in his own work he chronicled the traumas of Cyprus, from its difficult birth out of the British Empire and colonialism, through its civil war and invasion by Turkey in 1974, to the inhuman treatment on the island of women and asylum seekers. Shunned still by the art establishment in Cyprus - the two main modern art galleries in Cyprus, the Leventis Art Museum and the Nicosia Municipal Art Gallery (NiMAC) still refuse to show his work - Paraskos saw himself as a perpetual outsider, a self-proclaimed anarchist who did not believe it was the job of art or artists to toe the line.
Mary Shelley Early Life
Shelley was born Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin on August 30, 1797, in London, England.
She Was the daughter of philosopher and political Writer William Godwin.
Shelley’s mother died less than a month after giving birth to her.
She was raised by her father, who provided her a rich informal education, Encouraging her to adhere to his own Anarchist political theories.
She British novelist, short story writer, Dramatist, essayist, biographer and travel writer.
Percy Bysshe Shelley, Shelley and his stepsister left for France and travelled through Europe.
Upon their return to England, Shelley Was pregnant with Percy’s child.
They Married in late 1816, After the suicide Percy Shelley’s first wife, Harriet.
Shelley second and third children died before Shelley gave birth her last ang only surviving child, Percy Florence Shelley.
P.B.Shelley death in 1822 in Viareggio and she returned to England.
The last decade of her life was dogged by illness, most likely caused by the brain tumor which killed her 1 February 1851 London at age 53.

Cornelius Agrippa Spent many days working on an elixir. Winzy was not aware of the complete purpose of the elixir and winzy drink it when he felt bertha had left him for Albert Hoffer.
Agrippa deathbed and revels the purpose of the elixirs.
Winzy has live with the fact that Bertha is getting older while he continues to look Twenty years old.
Winzy confesses the truth and tells Bertha that he must leave her so that she may continue on with her life. Bertha accepts the situation and tells winzy that she wants to start a new life with him. Winzy cares Bertha perishes .Woman that he can love the way that he has loved Bertha. Bertha is death and Winzy effects of old age physical toll him but fact is appearance continues to be that of a twenty year old. The elixir does not prevent the aging process, but only keeps the drinker from dying.

Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

3. Gertrude Stein, the youngest of five children, was born on February 3, 1874 in Allegheny, Pennsylvania. In 1888, her mother, Amelia Stein died, and in 1891, her father, Daniel Stein died Her eldest brother Michael Stein took care of all of the family’s needs. He arranged for Gertrude and her sister Bertha to live with their mom’s family in Baltimore Gertrude attended Radcliffe College from 1893-1897, and studied automatic writing under William James. After studies at Johns Hopkins medical school, Gertrude Stein moved to Paris without taking the M.D. degree .
