A pen drive, also known as a USB flash drive, is a portable storage device that plugs into a USB port. It has replaced floppy disks and become a popular way for students, professionals, and others to easily store and transfer files, photos, music, and videos between computers. Pen drives were introduced in 1999 and began being commercially sold in 2000, with early models having 8MB of storage.
