B. Performance Standard The learner maintains an active lifestyle to influence the physical activity
participation of the community practices healthy eating habits that support an
active lifestyle.

1. undertake physical activity and physical fitness assessments.

2. assess eating habits based on the Philippine Food Pyramid/My
Food Plate (PE9PF-Ia-39)
3. determine risk factor (obesity, physical inability, poor nutrition,
smoking) for major non communicable disease lifestyle related
(e.g. Diabetes, heart diseases, stroke, cancer) (PE9PF-Ia-40)
4. distinguish among facts, myths and misinformation associated
with eating habits. (PE9PF-Ia-29)

The teacher will present pictures of different body sizes.
1. Let them analyze the picture and give their insights.
2. Why do you think they have this kind of body size?

B. Establishing A Purpose For
The Lesson
The teacher will divide the class in to 5 groups. Do Activity 2 “What it is for
you “ (LM 10 PE and Health pp.5-6)

1. Let them facilitate themselves to get thier height and weight.
2. The students will compute thier own Body Mass Index with the used
of formula given by the teacher.
3. Categorized thier computed BMI. ( underweight, Normal, overweight,
obese)

1. Make a reflection about the result of their Body Mass Index.
2. Think of possible activities that might help to improve/maintain
