Bryce Canyon Bryce Canyon National Park is a one of a kind, grand formation located in southern
Utah, east of neighboring Zion National Park and north of Grand Canyon National Park. All three of
these parks share a place on the Colorado Plateau but Bryce is the only one to feature natural hoodoos,
extensive wildlife, and an environment prime for any person to surround themselves with the artwork
of mother nature. Ever since 1915, when the park was first founded, people from all pieces of the
country have come to see the amazing sights within the park but there is so much more to it than the
gorgeous pictures that can only capture now. Thanks to J. W. Humphery, a ... Show more content on

The beginning of the formation of these rock pillars (figure 1) and the entire park can be dated back to
the Cretaceous Period, between 144 and 63 million years ago. During this time the Colorado Plateau
was merely a freshwater basin. There were no rivers to transport out water or sediment so sediment,
mainly iron rich limestone, collected at the bottom of this basin and other lakes. The Colorado Plateau
consists of several smaller regions and plateaus such as the Paunsaugunt Plateau where Bryce Canyon
is located. Five million years ago the Colorado Plateau was pushed upward between 4,000 and 6,000
feet in some places. This rising of the entire Colorado Plateau is considered an epeirogenic uplift
meaning it is not a mountain building phenomenon and instead only moved the region vertically. Once
risen, the prior basin drained and left behind the sediments that had built up over millions of years.
These sediments then lithified into rocks such as limestone, siltstone, dolomite, and mudstone in the
layers in which they were deposited. Each of these rocks erodes in a different way because they have
different compositions. Mudstone is a soft material and when wet it coats the rocks and makes it very
hard for the wind to erode the rocks. Water in the form of a river was not the cause of erosion in Bryce
either, technically making it not a canyon. Instead, Bryce gained its many hoodoos from frost
wedging. Cracks in the

Benin,Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire Immunization Services
CHAPTER 1 LITERATURE REVIEW
1.1.Benin,Burkina Faso and Côte d ivoire Immunization services. In Benin, Burkina Faso and Côte
d Ivoire immunization services are provided through the expanded Program on Immunization (EPI).
The main EPI targeted diseases are Diphtheria, Hepatitis, Measles, Pertussis Tetanus, Polio,
Tuberculosis, and Yellow fever. The main delivery strategies are three folds; fixed, mobile and
outreach services. The mobile strategy has been stopped due financial difficulties in Benin and
Burkina Faso (Burkina Faso EPI external review, 2008). The fixed method refers to the delivery of
vaccination services inside the health facility on specific days of the week and hours of the day. In
larger facilities vaccination is given ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

disparities in immunization services are due to period of crisis which started with a coup in 1999
followed with a period of war in 2002 (International Monetary Fund, 2009) this conflict lead the
country to be split into two zones with the North and North West controlled by the New Rebel Forces

Essay On The Mongols
The mongols were a group of people who were known for their strength, they survived in the steppes
after all. Genghis Khan was the leader of these peoples after he united them. He then conquered much
of the known world. The Mongols were brutal and untamed peoples, however, they are essential to the
fashioning of the modern world. If the Mongols never came, much would be different. The mongols
were a steppe people, they were constantly at war with one another. This was the case anyway, until
Genghis Khan united them all to conquer the known world. The mongols set out to conquer Asia and
Europe, they did, which made them the largest empire known to man. Timuchin was the son of a poor
noble in his tribe. Born sometime in the 1160 s, he gradually unified the disparate Mongol tribes and,
in 1206, was elected Genghis Khan, or Universal Ruler . He began to vigorously organize the
Mongols into a military force through enlistment and taxes on the tribes. With his small army, he ...

They launched several attacks to take the city of Kiev, the mongols showed no mercy to there, they
slaughtered their enemies before they even had the chance to surrender. They killed over forty
thousand people, they spared only two thousand people. Now in the thriving city of over two point

Most Europeans at the time of the mongol s invasion, thought that they had come from hell itself.
They believed that the mongols were merciless, ruthless, brutal, and deadly. This was all true, the
mongols showed no restraint or feeling in the face of their foes. This helped with a psychological
advantage over their enemies. They continued to take parts of Europe until they were met by the pope,
Pope Innocent IV, who persuaded the mongols to stop their advancement into Europe (Dawson,

Matthew And Luke s Gospel Comparison
The Gospels of Matthew and Luke both commence with the Birth of Jesus, and obtain infancy
narratives. However, despite both following the life of Jesus, there are blatant differences evident
between their accounts. Contextual, Geographical and historical discrepancies enable Matthew and
Luke s respective audiences to distinguish their writing styles, and choice of subject matter unique to
their Gospel accounts. Contextually, the first notable difference presents itself in the angel s foretelling
of Jesus incarnation. According to Matthew s Gospel Jesus birth was foretold by an unnamed angel to
Joseph in a dream. Luke s Gospel however contradicts such assertion stating that the angel Gabriel
came to Mary (who at the time was fully conscious) and divulged Jesus incarnation to her.
Additionally, Luke s gospel focuses extensively upon the series of events leading up to the birth of
Jesus of which includes: Mary s visits to Elizabeth, Elizabeth giving birth to John the Baptist, John the
Baptist s being named Benedictus, and Mary and Joseph s journey to Bethlehem for ... Show more

In the Gospel of Matthew the Jewish community is fearful of the coming of the Messiah. Such is
evidenced upon stating following Jesus birth King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all
Jerusalem with him (Matthew 2:3 4) . Additionally King Herod s actions regarding the mass
murdering of the innocents is noteworthy as such event fully expresses the fear experienced
concerning Jesus existence. By contrast, the Jewish community in the Gospel of Luke epitomizes an
overall sentiment of elation concerning the Messiah s birth. The rejoiceful nature of the Jewish
community is evidenced through the public proclamation of Jesus through the characters of Simeon
and Ana. Additionally, the recitation of poetry and song, supplements this notion of general

Star Appliance Case Study Essay
Star Appliance Case Study
Situation:
Star Appliance is looking to expand their product line and is considering three different projects:
dishwashers, garbage disposals, and trash compactors. We want to determine which project would be
worth doing by determining if they will add value to Star. Thus, the project(s) that will add the most
value to Star Appliance will be worth pursuing. The current hurdle rate of 10% should be re evaluated
by finding the weighted average cost of capital (WACC). Then by forecasting the cash flows of each
project and discounting them by the WACC to find the net present value, or by solving for the internal
rate of return, we should be able to see which projects Star should undertake.

The current year is 1979, so from Exhibit 3 the 1980 dividend is forecasted to be $1.70, and the stock
price in 1979 is $22.50. This gives a dividend yield of 7.56%, which is added to g. There are four
ways to solve for g:
• Dividend Growth Rate: Using the dividend schedule data in exhibit 6, g = 4.46%
• Capital Gains Yield: I was able to find the stock prices by multiplying the P/E ratio times EPS,
both of which are found in exhibit 6. g = 1.90%
• EPS Growth Rate: These values are also found in exhibit 6, leading to g = 5.55%
• Reinvestment Returns: I found b (the reinvestment rate) by using exhibit 1 to calculate the
percentage of net income per share of common stock that is paid out in dividends, and subtracting it
from 1 to solve for the percentage reinvested. The return on equity, k , is found by dividing net income
(exhibit 1) by book value (exhibit 2). G = b*k shows g = 8.14%.
Now to find the return on equity (ROE), I chose to add the average of the Dividend Growth and the
Earnings Per Share Growth and use that as g. I decided that the Capital Gains Yield was much too low
compared to the other values of g that I found and should be discarded from further calculations,
considering it to be an outlier. The Reinvestment Returns yielded a value for g that is a little on the
high end, but it is only based on

Westside Inner City
Newtown/Enmore
Marching to its Own Bohemian Beat
On the west side of the city, Sydney takes on a distinct vibe, one that embraces individuality, creativity
and a laid back lifestyle. The neighbourhoods of Newton and Enmore exemplify this spirit with their
eclectic collection of antique shops, thrift stores, throwback record shops and tattoo parlors. Candle
makers, ice creameries, vegan restaurants, art galleries and petite theatres are equally at home in this
bohemian area. The pulsing underground pub scene cultivates a thriving Indie music industry while
avant garde boutiques and public buildings are colourfully decorated with evocative political murals.
Sydneysiders descend on weekends to hunt for unique furniture and fashion, often unearthing valuable
antiques for bargain prices. Traditional pubs, such as the beloved Bank Hotel on King St., are just as
cherished as the intimate 1,600 seat Enmore Theatre and the hundreds of cosy cafes, bistros and
restaurants spread throughout these two inner city suburbs.

Pros And Cons Of Conscription Compulsory Military Service
The first European Institution, indeed the first international organisation of states, to formally
recognise conscientious objection to military service was the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council
of Europe.
In September 1965 Amnesty International raised with the Council the question of conscientious
objection in relation to Article 9 (freedom of conscience, thought and religion) of the European
Convention on Human Rights. The Council asked the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public
Law and International Law, Germany, to prepare a study of the situation in the member states, as a
result of which the Consultative Assembly on 26 January 1967 adopted Resolution 337, including the
following basic principles :
Persons liable to conscription for military service who, for reasons of conscience or profound
consviction, arising from religious, ethical, moral, humanitarian, philosophical or similar motives,
refuse to perform armed service shall enjoy a personal right to be released from the obligation to
perform such service. This right shall be regarded as deriving logically from the fundamental rights of
the individual in democratic Rule of Law states which are guaranteed in Article 9 of the European
Convention on Human Rights.
The concept of conscription compulsory military service by all able bodied males on behalf of the
state dates back to mediaeval obligations to monarchs and overlords, and then was formalised as a
permanent institution in the Revolutionary

Education As A Core Element Of Generating Quality Human...
Sociopolitical context Education is acknowledged to be one of the seven priorities of Kazakhstan 2030
Strategy. As it is particularly stated in state policy documents, the common goal of education reforms
in Kazakhstan is to adapt the education system to global socio economic environment (State Program
on Development of Education in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2011 2020). Kazakhstan is on the
way of its transformation to be one of the 50 most competitive countries in the world. To achieve this
ambitious goal, the country is overhauling its educational system to be able to produce quality human
capital as it will significantly result in benefit for economy and society (Bhuiyan, 2011). Therefore,
gifted education is considered to be a core element of generating quality human capital; hence, a great
deal of resources has been investing into education in order to implement strategies to provide a high
quality education for gifted children (Hernandez Torrano Abisheva, 2013). There are a lot of issues
beyond gifted education in terms of identifications, perceptions, teaching methods, peculiarities and
etc. Nowadays, different ways of supporting and organizing gifted children s activities are being
discussed by the majority of scholars. For instance, according to Kazakhstani scholars (Damitov et al.,
2006; Damitov et al.,2009) the importance of practical activities, scientific and educational research is
prioritized in several policy documents such as:

Socialization Of Boxing
Since the dawn of time man has always had the urge to up one each other. Dating back 2000 years
before the birth of Christianity man was gathering in public spaces to watch others run, throw and
jump to see who is best. These basic human abilities would evolve into what we as humans see as the
apex of achievement. Romans later created a new sport called boxing which turned savage beatings
into a game. At this time, there was no limits to the fighting and death was common. Fast forward to
today and sports in the United States is at the forefront of entertainment. From Rugby to Wrestling,

Doctors say that this is where kids are most likely to get a concussions that will eventually lead to

like not much one concussion a year can have many side effects of future play. And for every 10,000
games a practices in high school football 11 players a diagnosed with a concussion. Not including
ones gone undocumented (Frontline, 2013). 11 may not seem like a lot but as of a study done in 2014
there are approximately 1,088,158 amatuer football players at the high school level in the United
States. Assuming a regular football season runs from mid June and ends roughly around Thanksgiving
that leaves hundreds of concussions a year that were documented. When is comes to high school
athletics within most public schools in the United States allow everyone to equal opportunity to play.
Leading to an increase in inexperienced players in the sports. This is predominant in football
especially where students use improper form when hitting making extreme contact with the top of the
head. Another factor to the increase chance of CTE in the future for athletes is that lack of not being
able to afford sports doctors or especially in rural areas where the average income may be much lower.

Reflection On Personal Development
When I evaluate my school year, many things come to mind. I think about friend. i think about the
highs and lows. I also think about how much I grew. My 7th grade year at CMS was full of concepts
learned, memorable experiences, and personal growth. Some concepts i learned were . In Mrs.sanchez
5th period class we learned about sexual reproduction with grasshoppers. We learned about the genes
and what sexual reproduction means. Sexual reproduction means a genetic material from 2 parents
combined to make a new organism. And also meiosis sperm an egg during chromosomes the pairs
separate. A fun memory I had these days we re working with my group and they would think it was
weird everytime they say sexual reproduction.we also learned that chromosomes theory of inheritance
genes are carried from parents to their offspring on chromosomes. A question me and my group had
was why do they travel in pairs? we never answered it. We also learned about mendel s work. Mendel
s work showed that the dominant alleles don t come up as present when another is present. Each
human has 23 chromosomes. And grasshoppers have 24 chromosomes which is just 12 pair. Some
more questions my group had was do other insects have more chromosomes? And can more than half
of a parent s chromosomes go to its offspring? And before we started we had to write down a question
and it was what is mendel s work? sutton hypothesize that chromosomes were the key to
understanding how offspring have traits similar to

The one we have been is bigger than another one, and it is brighter.
The service process for the Starbucks coffee shop has several steps. First step is the customers get in
to the coffee shop; second step is customers go to the encounter or queue up in front of the encounter;
third step is the staff of coffee shop greet with customers; forth step is the staff takes order from
customers and ask them would you like anything else? ; fifth step is the staff asks the customers name
and write on the cups; sixth step is customers pay the bill; seventh step is customers go to the another
encounter to waiting the drinks; eighth step is the staff calls the customers name; ninth step is
customers crap the drinks; finally, the staff says goodbye and have nice day to customers. When
customers order the drinks, they have to join a queue in front of encounter. This likes a policy in the
every coffee shop.
They also have some supplementary services, such as customers can take away the drinks, or the store
provides some chairs and tables for customers can have drink inside the store.
We also discussed about the human resource management for the Starbucks coffee shop. There are
five people in the store, one staff takes order and check the bills, two staffs make the drinks, one staff
cleans the cups or machines, and the last one is manager, he monitors the other employees work and
when the peak hours, he will help them to take order or make drinks.

Why Is It Worth Learning To Play Poker
If you re looking for popular games to play, particularly online, or with your buddies for that matter,
you ll be hard pressed to come up with a more popular card game than poker. Over the last decade,
poker popularity has literally skyrocketed, with more people playing poker than ever before. All you
need to do to get an idea of how popular poker is, is check out various online gaming and gambling
sites, visit any casino, or even watch TV late at night/early in the morning and you ll see numerous
televised poker matches/leagues. Of course becoming a poker pro won t be for everybody, although
many do agree that the basic principles behind poker, can be applied to everyday life for the better.
One particular question that poker players and pros get asked all the time, is whether or not it s
actually worth learning to play poker? Some say yes, whilst some, in the case of former pro Jeff
Meyerson, say no.

saying that poker was a negative sum game and that it provides damaging lessons for anybody looking
to get ahead in the business world . He touches on the fact that nowadays, the number of popular

Anabolic Steroid Use And Anabolic Steroids
Why do athletes get so hooked on this so called Steroid ? I m interested in this question, because that s
the question that truly caught my attention the most and, also keeps me wondering. If people who use
it have seen improvement, why do they keep using it. The anabolic steroid also known as the anabolic
androgenic steroid is a drug that athletes use to give more muscle mass to the body and create more
testosterone in the body. If traced back to the 1940 s steroids first appeared in Germany. Athletes had
begun to use this substance as early as 1950 at the olympic games during the Cold war. Website
http://Cesar.com states, From that point until the early 1970 s, steroids became increasingly popular
among not just Olympic athletes, but also professional sports players and high school athletes (Cesar).
Steroids truly have developed into something that everyone wants to get to achieve the perfect body or
create a better physique.
In the article Body Image, Disordered Eating and Anabolic Steroid Use in Female Bodybuilders by
Gary S. Goldfield, he mentions how women and men often suffer from bulimia nervosa because of
their eating habits. Especially bodybuilders, because of competing they have to look and be lean, so
they diet harshly for their body fat levels to be low and more muscle definition to be seen.
Competitive bodybuilding is a sport that requires participants to be exceptionally lean and

In the fiction world, writers have an idea of creating society with perfect human morals but

he lost both, his mother and sister at a young age, and his first sexual experience was when he was

irritated due to the fact that he is surrounded by joyful activities, Sick of the sycophantic singing, sick
of every afternoon s compulsory games, sick of the little cliques of county names, he let the inner time
bomb start to tick (FIVE REVOLUTIONARY SONNETS), in a sense Burgess is trying to tell his
audience that violence is essential for human nature. This poem helps highlight the fact that not
everyone feels the same about different things, because the boy is not content even though everyone
else is. The sonnet Eden shows a young boy trying to clean himself of blood in a lake in this case the
blood represent sin. The setting in this work is in the biblical reference to the Garden of Eve, the boy
knowing that having blood (sin) on his hand act on his own to cleanse himself. He, in a way shows
panic because he cannot clean it off and even so continues to do so. In each work Burgess implements

Summary Of William Jacobs The Monkey s Paw
In The Monkey s Paw , author William Jacobs conveys the message that fate rules peoples lives, and
that those who try to interfere with fate do so at their own peril. This premise is clearly shown as the
plot of this clever story unfolds. Sergeant Morris reluctantly gave Mr. White the monkey s paw, but
warned him of the consequences. The White family playfully wished for two hundred pounds and
when nothing happened immediately, they dismissed the sergeant s story as a fairy tale. However, the
events of the next day show the cruel irony of the wish. A man from the company that the son,
Herbert, worked for, arrived at the White s House with the terrible news that Herbert had been killed
in an accident on the job. The man went on to say that

Pauli Exclusion Principle
Pauli Exclusion Principle
Wolfgang Ernst Pauli was an Austrian theoretical physicist famous for his work on the spin and
quantum theory, and for the beneficial finding of the Pauli exclusion principle. Pauli was born on
April 25th, 1900 and died on December 15th, 1958. He was a Foreign Member of the Royal Society of
London and a member of the Swiss Physical Society, the American
Physical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Pauli helped to set in
place the basis of the atomic theory. His suggestion of the hypothesis explaining the behavior of
electrons in atoms first came out in 1925. Then in 1945, he was awarded the Nobel
Prize in Physics for his help and contribution to the atomic theory, through ... Show more content on

Pauli solved a vexing difficulty by introducing a new quantum number,
which is a quantity that was later called spin, and that became part of the Pauli exclusion principle.
The second contribution he made was on the quantum field theory. Quantum field theory is a
combined element of quantum mechanics and subatomic scale, which is a particle that is smaller then
an atom like a quark and describes the properties of molecules and atoms of electron, protons, and
neutrons. Quantum mechanics deals with the behavior of matter and light on the atomic subatomic
scale. These particles are known to interact with each other with electromagnetic radiation. An
electromagnetic radiation is the flow of energy at the speed of light through free space. An example of
this radiation would be through light or x rays. The last contribution was Pauli s discovery of the
existence of the neutral particles, later known as neutrinos. It was used to preserve the conservation of
energy in nuclear beta decay.
Pauli was born in Vienna, Austria. His father was the chemist and physician Wolfgang
Joseph Pauli and his mother was the writer Bertha Camilla Schutz. He also had a younger sister,
Hertha, who became an actress and author. Pauli s godfather, Ernst Mach, from whom he got his
middle name, was the famous Austrian physicist and psychologist who studied the action of bodies
moving and developed a method

Sleep And Memory
How is Sleep related to Memory
According to the American Sleep Association, Insomnia is the most common specific sleep disorder,
with short term issues reported by about 30% of adults and chronic insomnia by 10%. ( American
Sleep Association, 2018, P.1) Scientists have proven that sleep is directly related to memory. Sleep has
effects on insomnia, discrimination skills, memory retention, and more.
Sleep is related to memory because of the effects that it has on insomnia. It has been suggested that
healthy sleep facilitates the consolidation of newly acquired memories and underlying brain plasticity.
(Christoph Nissen, 2011, p.1). When you receive enough hours of sleep, it will help build the process
of creating memories and it will be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

process of consolidation, this meaning that if there isn t enough sleep involved then the brain will not
reach that stage and there won t be any long term memories created. If it is an emotional memory and

emotional stimuli elicited larger responses in the hippocampus and various cortical areas in the well

The Creation of the Kite
The exact date and origin of the creation of the kite is unknown but historical evidence suggests that
they were flown in China about two thousand years ago. The earliest known account of kite flying was
around 200 B.C. when the General Han Hsin of the Han Dynasty flew a kite over the walls of a city
him and his troops were attacking to see how far his army would have to travel to reach past the
enemies defenses. Kite flying was soon spread by Chinese Kitestraders from China to Korea, and
through Asia to India. As it spread, people developed new ways of lying them and reasons for flying
them. Kites were introduced to Japan around approximately the 7th century by Buddhist monks. The
kites were used to repel evil spirits and to insure rich harvests. Kite flying soon became very popular
in Japan during the Edo period. For the first time Japanese civilians below the class of samurai were
allowed to fly kites. The Edo government tried to discourage this because people became unmindful of
their work. About three hundred years ago a thief was said to have used a large kite to carry himself to
the top of Nagoya Castle in order to steal a golden statue from the roof. He was only able to remove a
few small pieces .He was later captured and punished severely. The earliest evidence of kite flying in
India comes from paintings from the Mogul Period around the year 1500. There are a lot of stories
about how people of Micronesia used leaf kites to carry bait far out over the

Phoenix County Budget Case Study
Getting control of a county s budget may be a difficult task. My mindset must transform in order to
control the county budget, which will result in a positive turnaround. Although our friends in Phoenix
County feel a negative effect of the way our county is run, it is still functioning. However, I would try
to familiarize some of the leadership aspects of Phoenix. Furthermore, spending less money not to
become bankrupt again would be ideal. Moreover, since no one has never succeeded in convincing
Maricopa to be a team, I m willing to try to work as a team to restore our budget. In return, this will
give Maricopa an advantage in gaining tourist attraction, being efficient and have financial

The French And American Revolutions Essay
Many connections regarding the causes and circumstances between the French and American
Revolutions existed due to the people and ideas of the day, but ultimately, they were motivated by
different concerns. Americans wanted to be a sovereign nation and the French nationals were revolting
against years of oppression and social inequity between the classes.
The main causes of the French and American Revolutions will now be listed respectively:
FRENCH REVOLUTION:
1. Financial/Economical
In the 1700 s, France was easily the richest country in Europe next to Great Britain. Its great and
powerful navy and an army of hundreds of thousands of men also made it a formidable state.
Unfortunately, unlike the administration a century before hand, the administration at the late
eighteenth century was dreadful with its treatment of the country s poorest. The wealthiest citizens, the
aristocrats, did not pay taxes. Hence the tax burden needed to support such a great empire was forcibly
placed on the shoulders of the middle and lower classes. This resulted in poverty in vast areas. For
example, there was a salt tax in which every citizen was required to purchase a specific amount of salt
annually whether it was consumed or not. In addition, the government at the time had the salt
monopoly that further placed a huge burden on many areas.
At one time, a more forward thinking finance minister called Julius Necker, tried to administer
reforms within the country by emphasizing the need for

Environmental Justice And Its Effects On The Environment
Environmental Justice
Living in a highly industrialized world that is ruled by capitalism, the concern for the environment
often takes a back seat. Individuals or companies nowadays prioritize achieving optimal profit without
putting into mind what their respective actions or productions may have an effect on the environment.
They do not realize how important the role of our environment plays in the quality of human life. We
can say that a good environment leads to a better quality life, while a bad environment could lead to a
harmful and unproductive life. Now, it becomes unfair and unjust when the risks and costs of a
company affect a certain group of people and on the opposite side of the spectrum another group of
individuals enjoy the benefits without costs. The individuals that are affected badly are usually from
Third World Countries where the distribution of risk and costs are not even (Low and Gleeson 1999).
This is where Environmental Justice comes in. Environmental Justice mainly concerns the welfare of
human beings (Low and Gleeson 1999). Talking about cities where capitalism surges from, it has been
argued that these cities are unfairly structured (Low and Gleeson 1999). Basically, what this is saying
is that the wealthier you are, the better or cleaner the environment. On the other hand, if you are poor,
then the environment around you will have more health risks. This kind of injustice or disparity is
what adds fuel to the fire of environmental justice. In

Elizabethan Era Religious Conflict Essay
The religious conflict in the Elizabethan era must be understood in the light of how a religion
stemmed to two different forms causing bloodshed along the way. In fact, it can be said one of the
largest religious disputes during that the era was the Catholics versus the Protestants which were both
fleshed out from Christianity. Even if Catholics and Protestants were stemmed from Christianity, both
differs in some ways. During the Elizabethan era, Catholics find worth in reading the Bible since Latin
written Catholic Bibles were prominent that time. They also regarded their priests as divine beings. On
the other hand, Protestants have an elusive style of Christianity by simply preaching God s words and
recognizing their priests being regular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, when Queen Mary I claimed the throne she converted back to Catholicism. She even earned
the name Bloody Mary for killings done, creating blood between religions for years. Even if this is the
case, a number of protestants still supported Mary s rise to the throne since she was perceived as the
legitimate heir to throne in spite of others intent for Lady Jane Grey. For the same reason that the
Protestants approved of Mary s notwithstanding their religious differences, Elizabeth also held the
backing of most Catholics. However, the cases are different. Comparatively, the reign of Mary was
short enough to deal the same issues of loyalty among radical Protestants that Elizabeth had to deal
with from a minority of Catholics, more specifically Jesuits. At the dawn of English Reformation,
there were various ways in professing religious beliefs between Protestants and Catholics. It is notable
that Protestants broke away from the Church of England into different faction in directions that Henry
VIII barely predicted. This way, the reign of Elizabeth marks the rise of Puritanism along with the
return of Marian exiles . Although there were persistent flaws in terms of rituals, people began to see
the Church of England as an entity that can still be shaped and furnished into a godlier community of
Christians .

Capsim Project Paper
Mkt 350 In a classroom far, far away, four people were thrust into a group. Their goal was to succeed
in the game known as Capsim. They called themselves Digby 2. This is the real life story of their
friendship, challenges, and accomplishments as they worked their way to the top of the game. On a
more serious note, our group took Capsim very seriously. In the beginning we were all confused as to
how the game worked and where to begin. We looked at the various tutorials and the booklet to try
and make some sense of it. Once we had some understanding, we tried to develop our strategy. In the
first few rounds we understood it was important to have our company funded through stocks and long
term debt. We issued stock the first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other than this, we didn t really have any problems with the game or with our group members. Along
with capacity, we also made it a focus to limit the amount of overtime and second shift workers. This
kept our costs down and our profit margin wider. We paid attention to our inventory on hand and made
sure to not schedule more production than was needed. Towards the later rounds, we really seemed to
grasp the idea of the game, which can be seen in our large increase in profitability. In the Finance
portion, we borrowed money in the first five weeks to pay off our current debt. As the game got into
the later rounds we began paying off our current and long term debt because our profits were
increasing at a higher rate. Overall, we believe that our group had a decent understanding of the
concepts as we finished with high market share and profits. Our group took time to meet every week
to discuss our strategy for Capsim. We met on Mondays, usually for an hour or so to discuss the task
at hand. We also met on Wednesdays if there was doubt in our decisions from Monday or if one of our
group members could not make it. Our group chose to discuss the game as a whole, rather than
sectioning it up to make sure that everyone was on the same page. We didn t have any conflicts in our
decisions and actually got along very well. Overall as a group we thought Capsim had its advantages
and disadvantages. We did learn a lot about the

One of the major disappointments in the movie was when Darry pushed pony boy instead of hitting
him as it claimed in the book. The book The Outsiders clearly stated that Pony boy had gotten in an
argument with Darry after coming home late without letting anyone know where he was at Soda pop
later on jumped in trying to stick up for pony boy then Darry started yelling at Soda pop telling him to
mind his own business. That is when Pony boy got angry and yelled at Darry like no one else ever has

Naturalism In Wharton s Ethan Frome
Naturalism began as a literary movement in the early 1890 s all throughout 1915. Naturalism is meant
to imply a philosophical position. For writers, characters can be studied through their relationships to
their surroundings. Naturalists believed that human beings are meant to be studied like they were just
products , that are to be studied impartially, without moralizing about their natures. Ethan Frome was
first published in 1911. At first, people were skeptical that Wharton could write realistically about
poor farmers, seeing as how she had been born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Ethan Frome takes
place in a New England background. In the short novel, Ethan is married to a querulous wife. He is

In chapter nine, before they plan their death s, Ethan has a vision about the house he would be going
back to if he didn t give up his life. With them came the heated vision of the house he was going back
to of the stairs he would have to go up every night, of the woman who would wait for him there. And
the sweetness of Mattie s avowal, the wild wonder of knowing at last that all that had happened to him
had happened to her too, made the other vision more abhorrent, the other life more intolerable to
return to . . . (Wharton 71). When Ethan says the woman who would wait for him there , he is talking
about Zeena. He also means that he d be happy to see her go the same way he did, instead of leaving
her to deal with Zeena by herself. Mattie feels the same way about Ethan being left alone to deal with
Zeena for the rest of his life, alone. In the first page of Ethan Frome, the narrator is asking around, and
finds out that Ethan was in a very bad smash up , which had made him lame. The smash up it was I
gathered from the same informant which, besides drawing the red gash across Ethan Frome s
forehead, had so shortened and warped his right side that it cost him a visible effort to take the few
steps from his buggy to the post office window. (Wharton 1). Because life is so dark, he was in a
smash up so badly. That he s had to deal with the outcomes of the smash

The Hidden Assault On Our Civil Rights
Every snowflake that has ever fallen from the sky to the ground is different in some shape or form,
like our own identities, no two are the same. Some aspects of our identity may be similar to others but
in some way it will always be different as we perceive things differently. Our teachings, religion,
culture, thoughts, etc... are what defines us and sets us apart from the rest of the world. Kenji Yoshino
a Japanese American, as a child was torn between two identities of being Japanese or an American, he

Turkle explains how we are losing ourselves to our technology, putting more reliance on technology
then our own peers. Distinguishing between identity and performance of identity is a difficult task as
an adolescent because they are portrayed as the same thing. However, the idea of flexibility and the
advancing of technology helps the adolescents to transition between variety of identities in order to
find their one true authentic identity. The advancement of technology has it made it so, that we no
longer have a singular identity but multiplicity of identities that has integrated with our own identity,
causing us to become flexible to the variety of identities in order for us to find our true identity. Smith
introduces Dream City as a place where nothing is singular but everything is doubled, where we have
to transition from one place to another in order to communicate with the many dwellers of Dream
City. Smith states In Dream City everything is doubled, everything is various. You have no choice but
to cross boarders and speak in tongues. That s how you get from your mother to your father, from
talking to one set of folks who think you re not black enough to another who figure you insufficiently
white (Smith 251 252). Smith presents the idea of flexibility by explaining

Honors Earth And Space Science Gemma Morrison Mr. Replogle Honors Earth and Space Science 7 December 2016 Bryce Canyon Bryce Canyon National Park is a one of a kind, grand formation located in southern Utah, east of neighboring Zion National Park and north of Grand Canyon National Park. All three of these parks share a place on the Colorado Plateau but Bryce is the only one to feature natural hoodoos, extensive wildlife, and an environment prime for any person to surround themselves with the artwork of mother nature. Ever since 1915, when the park was first founded, people from all pieces of the country have come to see the amazing sights within the park but there is so much more to it than the gorgeous pictures that can only capture now. Thanks to J. W. Humphery, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The beginning of the formation of these rock pillars (figure 1) and the entire park can be dated back to the Cretaceous Period, between 144 and 63 million years ago. During this time the Colorado Plateau was merely a freshwater basin. There were no rivers to transport out water or sediment so sediment, mainly iron rich limestone, collected at the bottom of this basin and other lakes. The Colorado Plateau consists of several smaller regions and plateaus such as the Paunsaugunt Plateau where Bryce Canyon is located. Five million years ago the Colorado Plateau was pushed upward between 4,000 and 6,000 feet in some places. This rising of the entire Colorado Plateau is considered an epeirogenic uplift meaning it is not a mountain building phenomenon and instead only moved the region vertically. Once risen, the prior basin drained and left behind the sediments that had built up over millions of years. These sediments then lithified into rocks such as limestone, siltstone, dolomite, and mudstone in the layers in which they were deposited. Each of these rocks erodes in a different way because they have different compositions. Mudstone is a soft material and when wet it coats the rocks and makes it very hard for the wind to erode the rocks. Water in the form of a river was not the cause of erosion in Bryce either, technically making it not a canyon. Instead, Bryce gained its many hoodoos from frost wedging. Cracks in the ... The main EPI targeted diseases are Diphtheria, Hepatitis, Measles, Pertussis Tetanus, Polio, Tuberculosis, and Yellow fever. The main delivery strategies are three folds; fixed, mobile and outreach services. The mobile strategy has been stopped due financial difficulties in Benin and Burkina Faso (Burkina Faso EPI external review, 2008). • 4. Essay On The Mongols The mongols were a group of people who were known for their strength, they survived in the steppes after all. Genghis Khan was the leader of these peoples after he united them. He then conquered much of the known world. The Mongols were brutal and untamed peoples, however, they are essential to the fashioning of the modern world. If the Mongols never came, much would be different. The mongols were a steppe people, they were constantly at war with one another. This was the case anyway, until Genghis Khan united them all to conquer the known world. The mongols set out to conquer Asia and Europe, they did, which made them the largest empire known to man. Timuchin was the son of a poor noble in his tribe. Born sometime in the 1160 s, he gradually unified the disparate Mongol tribes and, in 1206, was elected Genghis Khan, or Universal Ruler . Most Europeans at the time of the mongol s invasion, thought that they had come from hell itself. They believed that the mongols were merciless, ruthless, brutal, and deadly. This was all true, the mongols showed no restraint or feeling in the face of their foes. This helped with a psychological advantage over their enemies. They continued to take parts of Europe until they were met by the pope, Pope Innocent IV, who persuaded the mongols to stop their advancement into Europe (Dawson, Mongol ... • 6. Matthew And Luke s Gospel Comparison The Gospels of Matthew and Luke both commence with the Birth of Jesus, and obtain infancy narratives. However, despite both following the life of Jesus, there are blatant differences evident between their accounts. Contextual, Geographical and historical discrepancies enable Matthew and Luke s respective audiences to distinguish their writing styles, and choice of subject matter unique to their Gospel accounts. Contextually, the first notable difference presents itself in the angel s foretelling of Jesus incarnation. According to Matthew s Gospel Jesus birth was foretold by an unnamed angel to Joseph in a dream. Luke s Gospel however contradicts such assertion stating that the angel Gabriel came to Mary (who at the time was fully conscious) and divulged Jesus incarnation to her. Additionally, Luke s gospel focuses extensively upon the series of events leading up to the birth of Jesus of which includes: Mary s visits to Elizabeth, Elizabeth giving birth to John the Baptist, John the Baptist s being named Benedictus, and Mary and Joseph s journey to Bethlehem for ... By contrast, the Jewish community in the Gospel of Luke epitomizes an overall sentiment of elation concerning the Messiah s birth. Star Appliance Case Study Essay Star Appliance Case Study Situation: Star Appliance is looking to expand their product line and is considering three different projects: dishwashers, garbage disposals, and trash compactors. We want to determine which project would be worth doing by determining if they will add value to Star. Thus, the project(s) that will add the most value to Star Appliance will be worth pursuing. The current hurdle rate of 10% should be re evaluated by finding the weighted average cost of capital (WACC). Then by forecasting the cash flows of each project and discounting them by the WACC to find the net present value, or by solving for the internal rate of return, we should be able to see which projects Star should undertake. This gives a dividend yield of 7.56%, which is added to g. There are four ways to solve for g: • Dividend Growth Rate: Using the dividend schedule data in exhibit 6, g = 4.46% • Capital Gains Yield: I was able to find the stock prices by multiplying the P/E ratio times EPS, both of which are found in exhibit 6. g = 1.90% • EPS Growth Rate: These values are also found in exhibit 6, leading to g = 5.55% • Reinvestment Returns: I found b (the reinvestment rate) by using exhibit 1 to calculate the percentage of net income per share of common stock that is paid out in dividends, and subtracting it from 1 to solve for the percentage reinvested. The return on equity, k , is found by dividing net income (exhibit 1) by book value (exhibit 2). G = b*k shows g = 8.14%. Now to find the return on equity (ROE), I chose to add the average of the Dividend Growth and the Earnings Per Share Growth and use that as g. I decided that the Capital Gains Yield was much too low compared to the other values of g that I found and should be discarded from further calculations, considering it to be an outlier. The Reinvestment Returns yielded a value for g that is a little on the high end, but it is only based on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Pros And Cons Of Conscription Compulsory Military Service The first European Institution, indeed the first international organisation of states, to formally recognise conscientious objection to military service was the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. In September 1965 Amnesty International raised with the Council the question of conscientious objection in relation to Article 9 (freedom of conscience, thought and religion) of the European Convention on Human Rights. The Council asked the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law, Germany, to prepare a study of the situation in the member states, as a result of which the Consultative Assembly on 26 January 1967 adopted Resolution 337, including the following basic principles : Persons liable to conscription for military service who, for reasons of conscience or profound consviction, arising from religious, ethical, moral, humanitarian, philosophical or similar motives, refuse to perform armed service shall enjoy a personal right to be released from the obligation to perform such service. This right shall be regarded as deriving logically from the fundamental rights of the individual in democratic Rule of Law states which are guaranteed in Article 9 of the European Convention on Human Rights. • 11. Education As A Core Element Of Generating Quality Human... Sociopolitical context Education is acknowledged to be one of the seven priorities of Kazakhstan 2030 Strategy. As it is particularly stated in state policy documents, the common goal of education reforms in Kazakhstan is to adapt the education system to global socio economic environment (State Program on Development of Education in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2011 2020). Kazakhstan is on the way of its transformation to be one of the 50 most competitive countries in the world. To achieve this ambitious goal, the country is overhauling its educational system to be able to produce quality human capital as it will significantly result in benefit for economy and society (Bhuiyan, 2011). Therefore, gifted education is considered to be a core element of generating quality human capital; hence, a great deal of resources has been investing into education in order to implement strategies to provide a high quality education for gifted children (Hernandez Torrano Abisheva, 2013). There are a lot of issues beyond gifted education in terms of identifications, perceptions, teaching methods, peculiarities and etc. Nowadays, different ways of supporting and organizing gifted children s activities are being discussed by the majority of scholars. For instance, according to Kazakhstani scholars (Damitov et al., 2006; Damitov et al.,2009) the importance of practical activities, scientific and educational research is prioritized in several policy documents such as: ... My 7th grade year at CMS was full of concepts learned, memorable experiences, and personal growth. Some concepts i learned were . In Mrs.sanchez 5th period class we learned about sexual reproduction with grasshoppers. We learned about the genes and what sexual reproduction means. Sexual reproduction means a genetic material from 2 parents combined to make a new organism. And also meiosis sperm an egg during chromosomes the pairs separate. A fun memory I had these days we re working with my group and they would think it was weird everytime they say sexual reproduction.we also learned that chromosomes theory of inheritance genes are carried from parents to their offspring on chromosomes. A question me and my group had was why do they travel in pairs? we never answered it. We also learned about mendel s work. Mendel s work showed that the dominant alleles don t come up as present when another is present. Each human has 23 chromosomes. And grasshoppers have 24 chromosomes which is just 12 pair. Some more questions my group had was do other insects have more chromosomes? And can more than half of a parent s chromosomes go to its offspring? And before we started we had to write down a question and it was what is mendel s work? sutton hypothesize that chromosomes were the key to understanding how offspring have traits similar to ... I m interested in this question, because that s the question that truly caught my attention the most and, also keeps me wondering. If people who use it have seen improvement, why do they keep using it. The anabolic steroid also known as the anabolic androgenic steroid is a drug that athletes use to give more muscle mass to the body and create more testosterone in the body. In the fiction world, writers have an idea of creating society with perfect human morals but establishing those ideas to real life people can see that there is no such thing as perfect. Anthony Burgess incorporates this idea into many of his works which accentuate many dark points in his life; he lost both, his mother and sister at a young age, and his first sexual experience was when he was seduced by an older woman (41 Facts on Anthony Burgess). The fact the Anthony had many occupations such like a linguist, critic, poetic, etc. show the vast amount of knowledge and views he has on the world. Pauli solved a vexing difficulty by introducing a new quantum number, which is a quantity that was later called spin, and that became part of the Pauli exclusion principle. The second contribution he made was on the quantum field theory. Quantum field theory is a combined element of quantum mechanics and subatomic scale, which is a particle that is smaller then an atom like a quark and describes the properties of molecules and atoms of electron, protons, and neutrons. Quantum mechanics deals with the behavior of matter and light on the atomic subatomic scale. These particles are known to interact with each other with electromagnetic radiation. An electromagnetic radiation is the flow of energy at the speed of light through free space. An example of this radiation would be through light or x rays. The last contribution was Pauli s discovery of the existence of the neutral particles, later known as neutrinos. It was used to preserve the conservation of energy in nuclear beta decay. Pauli was born in Vienna, Austria. His father was the chemist and physician Wolfgang Joseph Pauli and his mother was the writer Bertha Camilla Schutz. • 25. The Creation of the Kite The exact date and origin of the creation of the kite is unknown but historical evidence suggests that they were flown in China about two thousand years ago. The earliest known account of kite flying was around 200 B.C. when the General Han Hsin of the Han Dynasty flew a kite over the walls of a city him and his troops were attacking to see how far his army would have to travel to reach past the enemies defenses. Kite flying was soon spread by Chinese Kitestraders from China to Korea, and through Asia to India. As it spread, people developed new ways of lying them and reasons for flying them. Kites were introduced to Japan around approximately the 7th century by Buddhist monks. The kites were used to repel evil spirits and to insure rich harvests. Kite flying soon became very popular in Japan during the Edo period. For the first time Japanese civilians below the class of samurai were allowed to fly kites. The Edo government tried to discourage this because people became unmindful of their work. About three hundred years ago a thief was said to have used a large kite to carry himself to the top of Nagoya Castle in order to steal a golden statue from the roof. He was only able to remove a few small pieces .He was later captured and punished severely. The French And American Revolutions Essay Many connections regarding the causes and circumstances between the French and American Revolutions existed due to the people and ideas of the day, but ultimately, they were motivated by different concerns. Americans wanted to be a sovereign nation and the French nationals were revolting against years of oppression and social inequity between the classes. The main causes of the French and American Revolutions will now be listed respectively: FRENCH REVOLUTION: 1. Financial/Economical In the 1700 s, France was easily the richest country in Europe next to Great Britain. Its great and powerful navy and an army of hundreds of thousands of men also made it a formidable state. Unfortunately, unlike the administration a century before hand, the administration at the late eighteenth century was dreadful with its treatment of the country s poorest. The wealthiest citizens, the aristocrats, did not pay taxes. Hence the tax burden needed to support such a great empire was forcibly placed on the shoulders of the middle and lower classes. This resulted in poverty in vast areas. For example, there was a salt tax in which every citizen was required to purchase a specific amount of salt annually whether it was consumed or not. In addition, the government at the time had the salt monopoly that further placed a huge burden on many areas. At one time, a more forward thinking finance minister called Julius Necker, tried to administer reforms within the country by emphasizing the need for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Environmental Justice And Its Effects On The Environment Environmental Justice Living in a highly industrialized world that is ruled by capitalism, the concern for the environment often takes a back seat. Individuals or companies nowadays prioritize achieving optimal profit without putting into mind what their respective actions or productions may have an effect on the environment. They do not realize how important the role of our environment plays in the quality of human life. We can say that a good environment leads to a better quality life, while a bad environment could lead to a harmful and unproductive life. Now, it becomes unfair and unjust when the risks and costs of a company affect a certain group of people and on the opposite side of the spectrum another group of individuals enjoy the benefits without costs. The individuals that are affected badly are usually from Third World Countries where the distribution of risk and costs are not even (Low and Gleeson 1999). This is where Environmental Justice comes in. Environmental Justice mainly concerns the welfare of human beings (Low and Gleeson 1999). Talking about cities where capitalism surges from, it has been argued that these cities are unfairly structured (Low and Gleeson 1999). Basically, what this is saying is that the wealthier you are, the better or cleaner the environment. On the other hand, if you are poor, then the environment around you will have more health risks. This kind of injustice or disparity is what adds fuel to the fire of environmental justice. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For the same reason that the Protestants approved of Mary s notwithstanding their religious differences, Elizabeth also held the backing of most Catholics. However, the cases are different. Comparatively, the reign of Mary was short enough to deal the same issues of loyalty among radical Protestants that Elizabeth had to deal with from a minority of Catholics, more specifically Jesuits. At the dawn of English Reformation, there were various ways in professing religious beliefs between Protestants and Catholics. It is notable that Protestants broke away from the Church of England into different faction in directions that Henry VIII barely predicted. And the sweetness of Mattie s avowal, the wild wonder of knowing at last that all that had happened to him had happened to her too, made the other vision more abhorrent, the other life more intolerable to return to . . .
