• PMMC’s 1st year anniversary celebrations will be announced through print, radio and outdoor media and
activations.
• Promotional activities to be carried out across the district.
• Commemorating the hosting of FIFA U-17 World Cup.
• Swachhata would be one of the key factor in PMMC’s 1st year anniversary celebrations ,
• Swachhata campaign and activities aimed for the same would be launched & carried forward after the
anniversary celebrations.
5. Overview
• For creating awareness, activities can be carried out at vantage locations from Kharghar to Panvel. NGOs
and corporates can also be roped in.
• Major Activities would be organised in Central Park Kharghar and Panvel railway station.
• Depending on the foot falls, Malls and Multiplexes will also be important touch points.
6. Proposed Activities & Collaterals
• Panvel on the wheels
• Panvel Carnival
• Swachh Panvel Exhibition: Aimed at proper waste Disposal & Promotion of eco-friendly products.
• A symbolic Football Match to commemorate FIFA U-17 “Age is just a number”
• Booklet on last year’s major achievements and 1 year completion of Panvel Municipal Corporation.
• Print ads and Press releases.
7. Panvel on Wheels
• Two well decorated thematic floats to be flagged off on Oct. 1st.
• The first float will showcase rapid industrialization in Panvel. The second float aims towards Swachhata
awareness.
• Floats will be flagged off from the city center (Collector’s office) to Carnival ground with Jugglers, Ribbon
dancers, Clowns, Magicians, Blue-Green Dustbins as mascots etc..
8. Panvel on Wheels
• School children will carry relevant posters & banners of Panvel along with waste segregation awareness
pla cards. They will also shout out slogans promoting Swachhata in Panvel
• They would be accompanied by a “Celebrity Ambassador” / “Collector” who would also inaugurate the
Carnival.
9. Swachh Panvel Float
• The Front of the float would consist of 2 large cut outs of Blue and Green dustbin which would also list the
items under each category.
• The float would consist of displays like affordable toilets, products made of recycled waste, a compost
machine
• It would also have a collage showing the recycling process and its economical-environmental importance.
• There will be a printed signage listing government’s initiatives & financial help towards making open-
defecation free India.
• The Swachh Bharat song would be played along with a Panvel Jingle intermittently.
• People approaching the float would be distributed compost packets & compost machine leaflets.
11. Panvel Carnival : An Annual Event
• Organize a 4 day festival to celebrate Panvel’s 1st anniversary
• Making citizens aware about accomplishments of Panvel Municipal corporation and take new resolutions
• The “Panvel Celebrity Ambassador” Swachh Bharat Pledge to be taken by the citizen visiting the carnival
• Live screening of the FIFA matches in the Carnival
• Entertainment programs like skit on waste segregation, song and group dance etc
• Traditional Food Stalls
• Eminent Corporate personalities to be invited

Promoting compost machines and eco-friendly products through exhibition as follows:
• Live demonstration of composting machine to create compost from wet wastes generated from food stalls.
• Stalls of products made from non-biodegradable recycled waste.
• Waste Segregation awareness and management workshop.
18. Carnival : Swachh Panvel Exhibition
• Incinerator based healthy sanitary pad disposal machines.
• Low cost good quality individual household washrooms.
• Plantable pencils and pencils made of waste paper.
• Demonstration of Aerobic composters, Bio-Gas plant, Solid waste shredders.

19. • Orion , K-mall, Little world and various other malls in Panvel & Khargar to have promotional activities to
commemorate FIFA and Panvel
• AV on waste segregation and awareness to be screened in multiplexes before shows. AVs to screen in
shopping Malls and organizing a quiz competition on the same along with Blue Green Dustbin Mascots.
• Distribution of Panvel Anniversary kit bags to winners of promotional activities in mall, consisting of eco-
friendly products and stationaries.

• On weekend, family teams would build things of creative/utility value using non-biodegradable waste. The
innovative creations would be felicitated and families participating would receive Panvel Eco-Friendly

Implementation of these initiatives is very important. However, without public participation, they will not be
effective. It is therefore equally important to generate awareness and amplify these initiatives amongst the general
public, and thus ensure their participation.
