Pandas are solitary bears found in bamboo forests in China between 8,500 and 11,500 feet in elevation, where they feed on bamboo but do not hibernate. They are an endangered species due to habitat loss from farming and development destroying their natural habitat and low birth rates. Conservation efforts focus on protecting remaining habitat and breeding programs to increase the wild population.

1. Pandas - The panda is a well-recognized symbol of international wildlife conservation. Giant pandas have black fur on their ears, around their eyes (eye patches), muzzle, legs and shoulders. They are good tree climbers. Pandas can also swim to escape from their predators.
