1. Giant Panda
The Giant Panda is one of the rarest animals in the
whole world. It lives in Ancient China.
Giant Pandas are black and white bears that live in
temperate zone bamboo forests in Central China.
Pandas can eat up to 45 pounds of bamboo a day. It is
sometimes necessary for pandas to travel. There are
only 1600 left in the world. They live up to 30 years old.
Giant Pandas
are dying out mainly because of the habitat loss -
their main source of food is bamboo. They are
losing habitat because the forests are being cut
down to make furniture seats and shelves.
Therefore the Giant Panda is losing food.
Governers are protecting the Giant Panda by
making laws about hunting it. Scientists are trying
to protect hurt and sick Giant Pandas.
This cute, cuddly creature is slowly dying out,
but, bit by bit, things are helping it back on track
for recovery!
